"Cheese and crackers! No! Argh! I hate mosquitoes!" Logan exclaimed whilst slapping all the little bugs assaulting him at once. "Why did we have to come out here, Destiny?"

"Because we've received an invitation to do a little tourist visit, and it's about time you get out of your house a little bit," the whale shark explained her boyfriend while easily pushing all the leaves and plants on the way with her fins. Mosquitoes weren't a big deal for her due to her thin skin being impenetrable. "Seriously, you must've watched at least a dozen shows on Disney+ by now."

"That's not true! I only watched three of them: the original Ducktales, Loki and What If...?" the young man defended himself. "I gotta get caught up on the recent shows and movies while I'm on summer break, or the others will keep spoiling everything for me, like they did with No Way Home..."

Destiny rolled her eyes at this. "Anyway, that's not the point. We've been invited to do some visiting at Paradise Falls; it's gonna allow you to get some air. And speaking of which..."

The young couple had arrived at their destination. Paradise Falls. From their side, they could see Carl Fredricksen's house and furniture still standing near the edge of the stone hill overlooking the luscious, green South American forest. The place looked mostly the same as at the end of Up... with a few differences. Noticeably the airfield located on the far left side of the cliff and the Spirit of Adventure stationed nearby.

"Huh, did they build an airfield at the end of the movie? In a hidden scene or something?" Logan asked with rubbing his head, not remembering an airfield anywhere near Paradise Falls in the Up movie.

"Not that I know of. Come on, let's go see," Destiny urged Logan and led him forward by grabbing his arm. "You think we're gonna meet that adorable dog from the movie?"

"Dug? I don't know; he did become the leader of Muntz' pack at the end of the film, but in his Disney+ show, he moved with Carl in their new house after selling the Spirit of Adventure. So, I'm not sure," Logan replied. "And speaking of which, I think we're about to get our answer..."

A huge pack of dogs, more precisely that of Charles Muntz, were barking loudly while rushing in their direction. Logan cracked his neck, stepped forward, and slammed his fist hard on the stone ground, the shock it caused making all the dogs stop before him. After a few seconds of silence, Logan brought his fist to his side and painfully clutched it.

"Cheese, shouldn't have done that!" he grumbled to himself before looking back at the canines. "Back off, puppies; you don't wanna get into a fight with us!"

The leader of the pack, a blue and ochre Doberman Pinscher with a special collar allowing him to speak, stepped forward. "Fight? Who said anything about a fight? We just came on our master's command to greet you as our guests," he explained.

Logan and Destiny blankly stared at Alpha for a few seconds before breaking into a fit of laughter. "What's with the squeaky voice?" Destiny asked.

"It's like you've been inhaling helium, dude! You sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks!" Logan mused.

Alpha sighed in annoyance, dropping his head down. "I gotta find a way to fix this malfunction before everybody stops respecting me..." He cleared his throat and regained his composure. "My master, Charles Muntz, instructed us to lead you to the Spirit of Adventure, so you may have a little visit. Follow us; we will lead you to your destination."

Logan and Destiny followed Alpha's pack all the way to the famous zeppelin featured in Up. After receiving a warning from the pack leader not to touch or break anything, the couple walked in the storage room, which frankly didn't have much to offer, and then made their way to the exhibition hall. There were other tourists present, all of them admiring the collection of antiques and prehistoric animal skeletons.

"That makes a lot of bones," Destiny remarked while looking at everything on display. "Hey, this one kinda looks like me, don't you think?" she asked, taking a pose next to one of the skeletons, making Logan chuckle in amusement.

"It would be very unlikely. These bones you're seeing are the remnants of a stellers sea cow found in the Near Islands, southwest of Alaska. These herbivorous mammals could grow to eight or nine meters and really enjoyed eating kelp," explained a familiar voice. Logan and Destiny turned to see a familiar green-eyed man wearing a brown pilot's outfit with the Muntz Industries seal on the left sleeve, the Star Tours seal on the right sleeve, and a blue Tomorrowland pin on his lapel approaching. Floating next to him was a ghost bride wearing an elegant pink dress. Both of them had a wedding ring on their finger.

"Adam!" Logan exclaimed, greeting his adventurous cyborg friend with a bump-fist. "How you doin' man?"

"As great as a robot that just came out of the cleaning garage!" Adam responded with a chuckle, patting his co-Dream Defender so hard on the shoulder he almost fell off.

"Hey, Melanie, Adam, nice to see you again," Destiny kindly greeted her two friends.

"Same here, Destiny," Melanie assured with a smile, affectionately patting the floating whale on the head.

"So? What have you guys done since the Magical World Grand Prix?" Logan excitedly asked.

"Answering the call of adventure, naturally!" the cyborg responded with a proud expression. "After the competition, Melanie and I joined Camelia Falco and her pet, Aletta, on an expedition aboard the Dream Flyer. We spent days looking for lost treasures across the Mediterranean oceans. Safe for a few skirmishes with hostile sea creatures, everything went perfectly fine - we even managed to get a few lost treasures! What about you guys?"

"Oh, you know, the usual," Logan replied. "I've been teaching pro wrestling to my student at the Disney's Wresting Discipline Center - Destiny helped me. But right now, my summer vacation have begun, and we're enjoying it as much as we can. A few days ago, we went to spend an afternoon at Blizzard Beach, then we made a new friend in Adventureland, and I also watched many shows on Disney+: the original Ducktales, Loki and What If...?"

"You watched Ducktales?!" Adam exclaimed, grabbing his friend by the shoulders. "We have a lot to talk about, dude!"

"Say, is Dug here?" Destiny asked, looking around the vehicle for the golden retriever.

"Unfortunately, no," Melanie informed her whale friend. "He did become leader of Muntz' pack after the events of the movie, but Carl Fredricksen sold the Spirit of Adventure so he could buy himself a new house, and Dug followed him. Muntz ended up buying his airship back alongside everything that was in it, restoring Alpha as leader of the pack in the process."

"Awww, but I wanted to cuddle him so much...," Destiny sadly mumbled beneath her breath.

"Indeed, Dug was a good dog. I even invited old Carl to join us today. But unsurprisingly, he denied the invitation." The voice came from the door on the other end of the exhibition hall. Crossing it was an old man with a white mustache and hair, wearing an outfit very similar to Adam's. He was walking around with a cane.

"Hi, sir!" Adam greeted the old man, walking next to him so he could do the presentations. "Guys, I present to you the man who became my mentor and taught me everything I know after becoming a cyborg; Charles Muntz!"

"Greetings, young people, and welcome to the Spirit of Adventure," Charles said, reaching a hand for Logan to shake. The young man hesitated for a few seconds before extending his own hand to shake Muntz'. "Judging from your hesitation, would I be wrong to believe you heard of me before?"

"Not at all; I did hear of you, Charles Muntz," Logan replied, crossing his arms with a serious expression. "I know that you were obsessed with finding a rare exotic bird named Kevin and getting it back with you, even at the cost of getting her away from her babies. You went to extreme lengths such as setting an old man's dear belongings on fire and even tried to throw a kid off this very aircraft to meet your ends."

"Logan!" Adam exclaimed in an offended tone. "Don't talk like this to him; he's not the same guy he was before!"

"No, no, it's alright, Adam," Charles assured his disciple with a wave of his hand. "I perfectly understand where your doubts are coming from. I mean, I did take a lot of... questionable decisions in the past (Logan cleared his throat at this). However, just like Adam said, I worked a lot on my attitude and changed from the glory-obsessed man I used to be."

Logan seemed hesitant, but ended up nodding his head. "Alright, I'm willing to give you a chance - but only because I trust in Adam's words; not yours. Now, are there any reasons you invited us here other than to admire your collection of sticks and bones?"

"As a matter of fact, there is one reason, my young friend," Charles confirmed. "See, after buying my Spirit of Adventure back, I decided to invest my fortune in the construction of the airfield you've seen earlier so that tourists and characters from everywhere across the Magical World could witness the peaceful beauty of Paradise Falls. But it's also because the area is perfect to host dogfights."

"You're forcing your dogs to fight?!" Destiny exclaimed in shock.

"No, Destiny; a dogfight is an aerial battle between fighter aircraft conducted at close range across the sky," Adam explained. "It was the kind of encounter that happened a lot during wars of the last century, but in the Magical World, it's a popular sport that adventurers like Captain Muntz and I happen to enjoy a lot. In fact, it's only when I defeated him in a dogfight that Alpha's pack started respecting me."

"A competition I will not forget anytime soon," Charles mused. "It just so happens that we're organizing a dogfight competition above Paradise Falls today. Adam, Melanie, and I were hoping you'd be kind enough to join us all."

"Us? Taking part in a dogfight?" Logan asked.

"Yeah. You know how to pilot a plane, right?" Adam interrogated his friend.

"Only in Ace Combat," he responded with humor. "As for Destiny, she spent most of her life underwater; that pretty much answers the question."

"Don't worry; you don't have to know how to pilot an aircraft to participate," Melanie said. "For the competition, we're forming teams of two: one pilot and one turret shooter. If you can't pilot, maybe you know how to control a turret?"

"Oh, that I do!" Logan suddenly exclaimed with a smile. "I'd even say I got a lot of experience in that department thanks to all the games of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters I played since my first day in the Magical World. You can't ask for a better turret shooter!"

"I think I'd feel more comfortable in that position, too," Destiny admitted. She pointed a fin at her boyfriend. "He dragged me into most of his games, just to be clear."

"Alright! Let's go get ready then!" Adam beamed.

Around one hour and a half later, the numerous participants were all gathered across the large airfield of Paradise Falls. It had been decided that Adam would team up with Logan, Charles with Melanie, and Destiny with Athena from Tomorrowland, who happened to take part in the competition as well. Adam sat in his fighter aircraft's main cockpit, pressing on buttons to get everything ready, whilst Logan was in a cockpit at the back from where he could rotate and shoot the turret.

"Hum... Adam?" he called from over the radio. "Would this be a bad time to tell you that I got vertigo?"

"Don't be afraid, little dude. All the jets taking part in the competition are programmed to automatically teleport back to the landing zone as soon as they get too damaged to continue," the cyborg explained as he got his vehicle ready to go. "At worst, if you have the misfortune to fall out of the jet, just turn into your owl form and fly to safety."

"It's getting hit by a jet in midair while in my owl form that worries me...," Logan mumbled to himself.

Soon, a siren was heard across the entire airfield, and jets started taking off everywhere. The Dream Defenders' own engines started getting heated up. "Ready, Logan?" Adam asked.

"Not at all!"

"Well, too bad, 'cause we're going!"

As Adam pulled his handle forward, their jet picked up speed at a tremendous pace. Before long, the ground was far below them, and they got a splendid view of the entire South American forest. "Wow... That's high... Really... high...," Logan mumbled before shaking his head. "No, stay calm, Logan; everything's under control. Just let Adam pilot and shoot everything getting too close..."

The duo's first target came in sight, and Adam shot a missile that managed to directly hit the enemy plane, destroying it instantly. "Alright, our first plane taken down! Just a few dozens left to go!"

Soon, the skies above Paradise Falls were filled with lasers and missiles flying everywhere, jet fighters being destroyed and instantly teleported back to safety. With all these shots flying everywhere, Adam naturally had to perform a few fancy maneuvers to avoid getting hit, much to the dismay of his co-shooter.

"Adam, could you go easy on the flips and flops? I'm not even sure I know where's the sky and the ground anymore!" Logan called from his turret cockpit.

"Sorry, dude, but I'm just tryin' to keep us in the game!" the cyborg replied. "Shoot, there's a jet coming straight at us! I'm gonna have to..."

"Oh no..."

"... do a barrel roll!" Adam exclaimed with doing just that, narrowly avoiding the incoming enemy.

"Someone had to do that one!"

Despite his uneasiness at being swung in every direction so far from the ground, Logan still managed to do a good job taking down the nearby enemies with his turret thanks to his training in Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Toy Story Mania! Before long, only they, Charles and Melanie, and Athena and Destiny were remaining in the competition. The last team currently engaged the two Dream Defender, with both jets circling each other, letting the turrets shoot at each other.

"Come on, come on!" Destiny mumbled to herself while trying to outperform her boyfriend.

"I'm sorry, Destiny; it's nothing personal," Logan said as he managed to touch the enemy jet enough times to make it pummel to the ground. It teleported away after only a few seconds, though.

"Alright, we only got one jet left to take out before winning!" Adam yelled to his friend. As if on cue, laser blasts came out of nowhere, a few of them hitting the jet.

"We're touched! We're touched! Are we out?!" Logan slightly panicked.

"No; just a bit damaged, but we're good!" Adam replied. He looked up to see passing the jet who caused the damage in question. "Alright, Captain Muntz; lemme remind you why you picked me as your student."

The two jets engaged in an intense aerial duel, performing loops and maneuvers that made it look like a starfight straight out of Star Wars. Despite his accuracy, Logan was unable to touch the enemy jet because of Muntz' pilot skills. At least, Melanie wasn't too good of a shooter.

"At this rate, it's never gonna end!" Adam remarked. "Logan, if we want to win, I'm gonna have to do something risky!"

"I'm warning you; if it's another barrel roll, I'm against it!"

"Not exactly. Just hold on, and pray for luck!" Adam stopped moving in circles, instead going for a straight line. Taking the bait, Muntz chased after them and started shooting lasers, a few of them causing heavy damage to the jet.

"Adam, what are you doing?! They're going to take us down!" Logan exclaimed in panic.

"Wait for it... Wait for it...," the cyborg mumbled, sweat rolling down his head.

"Goodbye, my student!" Charles said, pressing on the button to send the missiles that would seal his team's victory.

"NOW!"

Pushing on his handle at full strength, Adam flipped his jet on a 180-degree angle so that the ground was now above their heads, and dove the aircraft into a half loop, executing a perfect split-s. They were now facing the opposite direction just underneath their enemy, with the missiles still in tow. Adam charged up, narrowly avoiding the enemy jet. By the time Charles understood what was going on, it was already too late.

"Oh no!" the old captain exclaimed just before getting hit by his own missiles. His jet got teleported away as the siren announcing the end of the competition echoed everywhere.

"We won! We won, Logan!" the cyborg beamed, practically throwing a fist in the air.

"Cool! Now get us back on land before my dinner decides to get out..."

Upon landing back on the airfield, Logan and Adam received congratulations from all the other participants. Charles praised his student before inviting he, Melanie, Logan, Destiny, and Athena aboard the Spirit of Adventure for dinner. They all enjoyed a refined meal cooked by Alpha's pack while talking about various subjects, most of which were adventures of S.E.A. members like Captain Nemo and, of course, Charles himself.

Once dinner was finished, Logan, Destiny, Adam, and Melanie decided to go sit near the edge of Paradise Falls to enjoy the sunset before leaving. Melanie fell asleep on top of Destiny, who was taking a nap for herself. Logan and Adam were resting their backs against her side while admiring the sun setting on the horizon.

"Aww, this is life!" the cyborg happily sighed. "Nothing can ever beat that..."

"I won't say otherwise," Logan nodded, resting his head on his two hands. "Muntz wasn't all that bad, all things considered; I actually want to give him a chance."

"Glad to hear that. People make mistakes, but they can learn from them to become better people - even hopeless people like Muntz."

"Yeah, I'm something of an expert in that department," Logan mused. Many seconds of comfortable silence passed between the two friends before Logan decided to speak again: "Say, Adam, can I ask you something?"

"You just did. But you can do it again if you want," the cyborg jokingly responded.

"Being an adventurer, how can you always be so brave and never afraid of danger and the unknown? I never managed to understand."

"What do you mean? We're equally brave, like all of our friends, aren't we?" the cyborg asked, confused by his friend's question.

"Not exactly. I do consider myself braver than an average person, but there's still plenty of stuff that scare the living cheese out of me in life," Logan explained. "Open oceans, haunted mansions, failure... flying hundreds of miles above the ground... But you, you're never afraid. I never saw you showcasing fear a single time ever since we met and even after we became the Dream Defenders. You're always jumping straight in danger and the unknown without a second of hesitation. How?"

Adam stared at Logan for a moment before looking up and scratching the side of his head. "I don't know. Guess that's just the way I'm made. You know, when I was little, my grandpa would always sit me down on his knees while we watched all sorts of adventure movies from his collection - movies like Indiana Jones, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, and National Treasure. This is where my adventurous personality developed itself."

"Okay, that's very interesting," Logan nodded before looking up at the sky. "As for me, my uncle told me that my parents always sensed I would have the intelligence of an owl and the fighting spirit of a warrior. That's why they decided to give me this name."

"What's that got to do with your name?" Adam asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't you know? 'Logan' is a Gaelic name that's supposed to mean 'Little hollow', like those in which owls make their nests, but it can also mean 'Descendant of a warrior'. Guess that's why they named me like this: for my similarities with owls and my fighting spirit."

"I didn't know that. You learn something new every day," Adam remarked with a chuckle. A few more minutes of comfortable silence passed by before the cyborg let out a long yawn. "I think we should wake up the girls and leave before we awake and realize we've spent the entire night here."

"Good idea..."
