So we went from a haunted house, back to school. It just be what it does, huh?

Truth be told, I wanted to do more with this arc, but I couldn't really figure out a way to implement it without it coming across as contrived. And after thinking about it, I don't think Lincoln's the kind of guy to pick a fight with a little girl.

Those older than him? No. Those around his age? Maybe. But a little kid who didn't know any better? He couldn't bring himself to hurt her even if he was forced to do it.

So, yeah, a peaceful solution to an otherwise short arc. I'll try to make it up somehow, but for now, I think it's time for the aftermath of the Haunted House.

And now, the reviews:

1) Guest: This can only end well. XD

2) Nobody245: The Power of Friendship!

* Yeah, I guess that's the one good thing of being an Antagonist: your ego's kept in check.

3) Uroten: We'll see soon enough. I think.

4) Mr. Haziq: I know, right? This arc should've totally been 20 chapters, tops! XD

5) Guest: I legit forgot about that story. Hmm, maybe I could give this idea a shot, it sounds interesting.

And now, to the chapter.

Luna stood in a podium, surrounded by a bunch of people in large, floating chairs, with one in particular speaking:

"So, you want to retire from Space Watch?"

Luna took a deep breath as she heard the question, clutching her chest as she answered:

"Ever since I got the job, I've been stationed at the Earth's atmosphere, waiting for threats to appear to fight to no avail, for years. And honestly, at this point, I really don't think there's anything out there to worry about-"

"Nonsense! It's been confirmed that life exists beyond Earth!" one of the other people stated. "We sent scouts years ago! Surely an alien race wouldn't forget first contact like that!"

"And as we all know from ancient knowledge, aliens tend to be rather… confrontational," another person, a woman with glasses, sighed. "If we just allow anybody to leave Space Watch, we might end up leaving the Earth defenseless against any extraterrestrial threat."

Luna raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"What we mean, Luna Loud, is that your request to leave Space Watch is denied," another person, a muscular man, sternly responded. "You're one of the most promising Superheroes in the current age, not to mention one of the few who can breath in space, so to take you out would severely weaken Space Watch's effectiveness-"

"B-But-!"

"But nothing! You will stay in Space Watch, and that's it! Now leave," the man huffed. "We got more important things to take care of!"

Luna clenched her fists, and walked out of the room. She went past a sliding door and took a couple steps away from the entrance to that meeting room, bitterly narrowing her eyes.

Then, she gritted her teeth, and punched the wall next to her, cracking it hard enough to make the lights malfunction.

"Inmate L-13733, please come here."

Lynn really hated it whenever she was called by her inmate name. It wasn't enough to incarcerate her for doing what society forced her to do, no, they also had to refuse to call her by her name.

Regardless, she knew better than to either anger her guards or make them wait, so she promptly walked to a chair and sat down.

"Alright, we need you to deliver your report regarding the situation with the house in the outskirts that appeared yesterday."

"But I wrote a report about it and sent it to you last night," Lynn shrugged. "Didn't you receive it?"

"We did, but we also can't just blindly trust what you write on a piece of paper," the guard answered. "We also need you to testify about it, while being unable to lie."

Another guard came in, then placed a glowing golden collar on Lynn, the inmate just rolling her eyes as this happened.

"Alright, now, let's start with the simple questions. When you checked the house, was there anybody inside?"

Lynn hummed and nodded. "A little girl. She called herself Darcy, and could control the house to her liking."

"She could control the house?" the guard repeated. "Exactly how much could she control?"

"I didn't stay or see enough to get a full picture, but it was definitely extensive: she could fly, phase through objects, change the environment, stuff like that."

"But all of these powers only worked while she was within the house?"

"Naturally."

The guard hummed and wrote that down, scratching his chin before adding:

"And what happened to this Darcy? Because we weren't told of her being arrested."

Lynn took a deep breath and rubbed her forehead, saying:

"It's a long story, so give me a few seconds to get my thoughts together."

"Lincoln!"

The guy, who was talking with the Ynovation girls, could barely turn around before he was hugged by a very small, familiar face.

"Darcy?!"

"Yup! It's me!" Darcy giggled as she rolled off Lincoln's body. "I'm officially a part of Cliche High now!"

"But how's that possible?" Lincoln asked as he got up. "Cliche High is a high school, and you look like you go to Kindergarten."

"I do!"

Polly put a hand on Lincoln's shoulder. "Cliche High has levels of education all the way from Kindergarten to high school."

"Yup! And all I needed to do was convince the principal to let me in!" Darcy chirped. "We even skipped all this funny stuff called paperwork, and bam! I was in!"

"And how did you do that?" Tabby asked. "Last time I checked, your parents needed to sign all the paperwork to let you in, and we didn't see any of them back at the house?"

"I don't have any! I'm an orphan!" Darcy revealed with a wide smile.

"That just brings up even more questions," Giggles said with a nervous smile. "And there's still the main question: how did you convince the principal to let you in?"

"I threatened to throw my house on him!"

Whether it was the casual way she said it, or how cheerfully she said it, Darcy's words sent a shiver down everybody's spine.

"Psst, Lincoln," Tabby whispered. "I think it's the perfect time to do… you know what?"

"Oh, right," then, the boy turned to Darcy and crouched down. "Hey Darcy, would you like to come with us for a moment?"

Darcy nodded and spread her arms. "Piggyback!"

Lincoln chuckled. "Seriously?"

"Piggyback! Piggyback!"

The boy turned around, and Darcy clung to his back shortly afterwards, giggling as Lincoln and the Ynovation girls went to their classroom.

Once at the empty classroom, Tabby closed the door, and Lincoln put a pouting Darcy down.

"D'aw, why did you stop?!"

"Because you need to listen to what the girls have to say, okay?"

Darcy raised an eyebrow before Haiku approached her, saying:

"Darcy Homandollar, your Cliche is interesting, but it can always evolve beyond its current form. This is what this group, Ynovation, is all about."

Then, she put a hand on Darcy's shoulder. "If you join us, we'll help you unlock your Cliche's true potential, and reach the strongest version of you that there is!"

Then, Lincoln put a hand on Darcy's other shoulder. "And you'll get to hang out with us after class. So, what do you say, Darcy? Wanna give it a shot?"

The gothic girl glanced at Lincoln, then Haiku, and the remaining members of Ynovation, slowly gaining a smile until she turned back, and nodded.

"I'm in!"
