Chapter 7

Responding to your reviews:

Marquis shax: First of all, I did not forget about Shizune. Maybe I could have shown it better, but with Kushina being Tsunade's last apprentice (Clearly you weren't reading) why in the world would she take on another one? Then again, Shizune is the reason Tsunade is alive.

And then the contracts. So, I may have to rewrite the entire chapter, because when I made a few edits, it did not save. It may be a thing across a lot of chapters in my story. And then lastly, the war with Taki. If you reread the entire chapter of when I sent that Anbu team to the hidden Waterfall village, you can see that it says, "They had been excepting rouge shinobi." If I'm not mistaking, then that's what the hidden sound did in less time than the hidden waterfall are going to do.

Thank you for the review though. If you have any other questions, please ask away.

-Naruto and Minato-

"I'm 3 years old." Minato said putting up 3 fingers. Minato looked and acted exactly like his father. He had the gray-silverish hair, along with the sarcastic persona.

Minato looked at Naruto who was in deep thought. "What are you thinking about Naruto-ni?" Naruto looked down at the child. "I was calculating my age and yours."

Minato looked at Naruto with a confused look. "You are three. I'm eight, by the time you are a genin I will be roughly sixteen." Naruto explained.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Minato asked still not getting the point. "Assuming that I can make Jonin before you graduate, I can become your sensei."

"Ohhh okay, that's cool." Minato said. Minato walked inside the apartment and sat on the couch. "What do you want to do?" Naruto closed the door and sat next to him.

"I can try and teach you something? That is if you want to learn." Minato nodded his head with excitement. "Yeah, I can get a head start on Konohamaru!"

'Jiji's grandson.' Naruto thought.

########

-30 minutes later, Apartment-

"That's so cool! Can you teach me more?" Minato asked excitedly. Naruto had taught him a tiny bit of Fuinjutsu. He only taught him basics of setting a trap for a prank.

"I would if your parents weren't here." Naruto said sensing them. "What are you talking about?" Naruto pointed at the door. Someone knocked on it when he did.

Naruto walked to the door and opened it. As expected Anko and Kakashi were standing right at the door. "Told you." Minato ran his tiny legs to the door.

"Kaa-chan, Tou-san! Naruto-ni taught me something awesome today!" Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "What did he teach you?" Naruto slowly made his way to a window.

"Who taught who what?" Naruto said jumping out of a window. He started jumping roofs. He stopped once he reached a specific spot. Kakashi appeared infront of him seconds later.

"What did you teach him Naruto?" Kakashi asked with confusion. "Nothing all I taught him was some basic Fuinjutsu." Kakashi was still confused.

"So why did you run away?" Naruto's expression went from happy to serious. "Your son has a Sharingan." Kakashi at this point was just flabbergasted.

"How? And does he have two?" Kakashi asked. "No, he only has one and it has not awakened. The only reason I can think of is you being an Uchiha. Which you are not. But that implanted Sharingan you have, it may have found its way into your DNA."

Kakashi looked at Naruto. "How do you know?" Naruto smiled. "I knew once I sensed him. Just like I know that your wife has a foreign chakra in her neck to upper shoulder."

"Orochimaru's curse mark." Kakashi thought out loud. "So that's what it is?" Naruto asked. "Yeah, she got it when she was younger." Naruto thought deeply.

'The only way to store chakra in through a seal. But what type of seal is he using?' he thought. "It seems like something way out of my league. So, I can't help much."

"But maybe you could ask Jiraiya of the Sannin. He is the last known Fuinjutsu master." Naruto suggested. Kakashi put that in the back of his mind.

"Thank you for babysitting Minato by the way." Naruto shook his head. "No need to thank me. I really do enjoy teaching sometimes, he helped me realize that."

Kakashi smiled and vanished in a swirl of leaves. 'Some things never change.' Naruto thought as he got up off the roof. Naruto stopped and braced himself.

'Who is this? They have so much chakra.' Naruto turned around Kunai in hand. To his surprise, it was non-other than Jiraiya of the Sannin.

"Hey kid you got to help me. I'm being chased by so many beautiful women!" Jiraiya said giggling at the end. "Why should I help you? You are a Sannin right? Go use some sort of teleportation jutsu."

"I'm not the Fourth Hokage kid! Please help me!" Jiraiya said begging. Naruto groaned. 'Lady Tsunade will beat me if I help him. Then again, he did train my dad... Oh Kami please save me from the beating I will soon receive!'

Naruto walked besides Jiraiya and waited. "By kid!" Jiraiya said leaving in a Bodyflicker. "What!?" 'I knew I shouldn't have trusted him!'

Naruto ran like he was running from those mobs that use to attack him when he was younger. 'This certainly brings back memories.' he thought.

As Naruto outran the civilian part, he soon realized that the Shinobi part would not give up so easily. They were likely seasoned and had loads of stamina.

Naruto himself had a lot of stamina. But that was because of his chakra reserves. And as all should know, they eventually run out.

-Land of Earth, Hidden Rock council meeting-

"We should take advantage of their blind spot!" a council man yelled as the discussion raged on. The Tsuchikage, Onoki was just sitting there. Fingers crossed over each other in deep thought.

Just a few days earlier he had signed a treaty with the Hidden Waterfall, making their alliance official. On the outside it made it seem like the Rock was preparing for another war.

While this thought wasn't inaccurate, it also wasn't the entire reason. While the rock had made some good progress recovering from their losses in the last war, they weren't as strong as they were years before. So, in an attempt to make themselves stronger, they started looking for an Allie.

They held a private meeting with the Hidden Cloud, before the Hyuuga incident. They almost had an alliance, but then the incident occurred which completely derailed any talks they had with them.

With Kumo backing out, there was nobody to align themselves with. Of course, there was always Kiri, but they were in a civil war and didn't have time to align with other villages.

So, naturally they looked for a small village, close to the Land of Fire that needed an allie. That is where the Hidden Waterfall came in. They had talks with their leader, whom they called the 'Takikage'. It was rare that a village name their leader with the suffix 'Kage' without being a great nation.

But clearly, this village had confidence in themselves so, that is what they did. The rules of the treaty were simple and complex.

-It was an Offensive and Defensive pact. Meaning that if one was attacked or wanted to attack someone else, the other must provide troops or equipment.

-By request, the attacker can use the others territory for an invasion.

-There will be joint exercises close to the Land of Fire's border every 4 years.

-Certain Kinjutsu will be shared between countries as a sign of friendship.

-Chunin exams will be held in either country every 3 years.

-Both sides would marry into each other once a generation.

This treaty was very normal by most people's standards, but if you look closely there is a hidden meaning. The Tsuchikage was very proud of the treaty.

He now had an allie that was connected to his enemy's border. He was closer to getting his revenge on the leaf for what they did to his family, and multiple others in the last war.

'While this is all and great, I still need time to get our numbers up. We have close to 18,000, but our goal needs to be 25,000. Roughly the same size we had the last time around.'

"Lord Tsuchikage! Talk some sense into this young one!" An elder yelled from across the table. Onoki looked up and snarled. "You fools! This is not the time to be arguing about this!"

He took a breath to calm himself as he continued. "We can't invade them. We tried before and failed miserably. Their sand is basically impenetrable, along with the fact that transporting food and equipment is impossible with all the sandstorms and quicksand."

All the council members who were pro invasion, calmed down and excepted the facts. "You all know who the real target is. It would be best if we were at full strength when the time comes." Onoki said as he hoped down out of his chair.

He walked towards the door before turning around with a sinister grin. "Make sure all of you are training those three. They will be important assets."

-Hidden leaf, one month later.-

Naruto grinned as he and Jiraiya sparred. It had been a month since they first met. Naturally, Naruto was excited to know that a Sannin was his Godfather.

He was less excited to know that his Godfather was a pervert. But the nonetheless he was still his new teacher, and he should be treated as such. So, instead of the original name he had, which was 'Pervy-Sage' he gave him the proper title, 'Jiraiya-Sensei'.

"Alright kid, I think that's enough for today. I have something I need to teach you." Jiraiya relaxed his form. Naruto did the same and caught his breath. "What is it, Sensei?" he asked.

"I sure you know of the beast inside you, correct?" Jiraiya asked. Naruto nodded and waited for him to continue. "Well typically, every Jinchuriki, has a special trait about them. For example, the one tailed Shukaku gives its Jinchuriki control over sand. I've been wondering if you have one too."

Naruto thought for a second remembering everything the Nine-tails taught him. He didn't remember anything about that specific topic, so he asked the beast itself.

He fell into his mindscape and to his surprise, his friend wasn't sleeping. "I think you heard everything right?" Naruto asked and the tailed beast nodded.

"I believe it's time anyways." The beast staired into space. A fox appeared behind Naruto. "Kaiten, show him gate number two." The Nine-tails ordered.

They began walking to the gate as Naruto started up a conversation. "How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while Kaiten." The fox on all fours gave a foxie smile. "Good, I have been getting training from my brothers." Naruto smiled. Clearly the fox had gotten mature. They continued to walk and reached the second gate.

"Are you ready?" Naruto asked. "Of course I am." the fox responded. Naruto touched the gate with his hand, and it lit up. The gates opened and Naruto and Kaiten walked in.

Unlike the time before, there were no doors or signs. It was just a circular pedestal with a clear white orb floating from its stand. "Welcome Naruto, Kaiten." A booming voice said.

"Kurama?" Naruto questioned. "Yes, it's me. But that is not of importance. The thing of importance is that orb. I use it to make Kekkei-Genkai."

Naruto walked toward it and put his hand inside it. "Well, you already did the first part." Naruto's mindscape started to shake as three new pedestals moved themselves toward Naruto.

"What did it do?" Naruto asked. "It Identified your chakra natures and moved them towards you." The fox answered. "Now you must choose which two would create the most powerful and useful Kekkei-Genkai."

Naruto thought for a moment before asking a question. "If I were to combine Wind and Fire, would it make the fire weaker of stronger?"

"Because of how Kekkei-Genkai's work it would be stronger. If I'm not mistaking, then that fire could burn Wood-style into the ground."

Naruto was visibly in a state of thought. 'But the likely downside, is that It's hard to control.' Naruto made his decision, but once again had one more question.

"How is Burning Wood-style even possible?" he asked. Kurama smiled and responded. "There are many driving factors. 1, your affinity to fire and wind is incredible. 2, Because of how dense your chakra is, it makes any jutsu you fire off powerful, regardless of rank. 3, only because I am going to make it that way. And 4, because if you use wind and fire together it makes the fire stronger."

Naruto smiled as he walked over to the wind orb and touched it with his hand. He then proceeded to walk over the fire orb and it with his other hand.

The result of touching them made his hands turn into the element he touched. He walked over to the white orb and put the fire hand into it. The orb absorbed the element and converted half of itself into fire.

Naruto Then put the wind hand into it. The orb took the two elements and merged them together. Kurama back at the cage, started moving his hands in a circular motion. "Is there a specific color you want Naruto?" The Nine-tails asked.

"How about Gold?" Kurama smiled and continued to do his thing. Within a few minutes the fox was finished with the Kekkei-Genkai, and the orb was a gold like color.

Naruto and Kaiten were waiting for something to happen. Nothing ever did. "Are you going to come back or what?" Kurama asked. Naruto and Kaiten laughed and walked out of the gate.

They walked back to the cage and were greeted to Kurama resting on his paws. "Can I have a rundown of this new Kekkei-Genkai?"

Kurama kept his eyes closed. "As I stated before, once you learn how to control it and all that, it will be by far the strongest Elemental Kekkei-Genkai known to man. Capable of burning the everlasting wood of Wood-style." Kurama said the last part with a menacing laugh.

Naruto wasn't as excited as Kurama, but he kept that note in his back pocket. "How long should it take me to control it?" he asked. "If you train with it once a week, I could see you understanding it in two years and having complete control in four years." Naruto nodded. It was a bit longer than what he had liked, but patience was one of the many things he had learned throughout his training with Kurama.

"Well then I think I should get started." With that Naruto left his mindscape and returned to the real world. Jiraiya was sitting on the ground in a meditating position.

"Hey, sensei, I'm back." Naruto greeted. The toad sage opened his eyes and had a look of worry. "Did the fox try to manipulate you? Did he even give you an answer?" Jiraiya asked.

Naruto shook his head and responded. "No, he would never do anything like that. And yes, he did, in fact I actually have a new Kekkei-Genkai now."

Jiraiya looked at him with suspicion. "Can you show me?" Naruto shook his head, "No. I don't know how to use nor how to activate it." Jiraiya still looked at him with a confused expression. "By activate, do you mean that its different than a normal Kekkei-Genkai?"

Naruto shook his head again. "No, sorry for my lack of grammar, but it's just an elemental Kekkei-Genkai." Jiraiya nodded and continued to think of ways he could get Naruto's Kekkei-Genkai to bloom.

"How about this? I'm going to teach you a jutsu that can make you learn things ten times faster." Jiraiya said as you started walking into a near by forest. Naruto was confused, but he followed his master anyway.

After a couple minutes they made it to the forest and Jiraiya explained the jutsu to Naruto. "It's called the Shadow Clone Jutsu. It is typically used for gathering intelligence, along with cloak-and-dagger activities."

This peaked Naruto's interest. Kakashi, his other sensei, was a former Anbu. He thought it was cool that he could sneak around and not get caught.

"So, how do you do the jutsu?" Jiraiya sat down and gave an explanation of how it worked. "Well, for starters, I would try to make an image of yourself, and then put chakra into that image." (A/N. This is how I think the jutsu might work.)

Naruto made an image of himself in his mind and put chakra into it. Unfortunately for him, nothing happened. "Oh, sorry I forgot to show you the handsigns."

Jiraiya went through five hand seals. "Rat, Boar, Dog, Horse, Dragon." after showing Naruto the handsigns, he vanished in a Bodyflicker. "I'm going to be right back."

'Why did he leave?' Naruto thought. Jiraiya actually left to do some important research for his new Icha-Icha book. Naruto shrugged his shoulders and attempted the jutsu.

To his surprise, he seemed to have gotten it on the first try. On the side of him there was a clone. It wasn't a genjutsu, because it was physical and had no faltered traits.

Naruto waved at the clone. The clone looked at Naruto and then back to himself. "I think you are my clone. That's why we look the same." The real Naruto shook his head. "No, you are my clone. I know that because I just used a small portion of my chakra."

Naruto was right. But he was also wrong. The Shadow clone jutsu takes a great deal of chakra. Even those with Jonin level reserves struggle with making even a single one. It goes to show how much chakra this eight-year-old has.

"Is there anything special you can do?" Naruto asked his clone. The clone thought for a moment. "No, I don't think so." Naruto haad to try something.

If he killed the clone, would it explode? Or maybe it would just vanish. To answer these questions, he attacked the clone. To his surprise it popped out of existence only leaving visible clouds behind it. Naruto was about to walk away and find his master when he felt something in his mind.

He saw the clone's memories. 'So this is how the jutsu gathers intelligence. When it dispels, the user remembers everything the clone saw.' Naruto was impressed. This jutsu, to him, had a wide range of uses.

An idea found its way into Naruto's mind. He created a Shadow Clone and sent it to find Jiraiya. While the clone did that, Naruto continued to try and find a way master this newfound jutsu.

########

-20 minutes later, with Naruto's clone-

The clone had found Jiraiya, but in the strangest of places. He had binoculars and seemed to be spying on women in a hot spring. The clone snuck up behind Jiraiya and tapped his shoulder.

"Jiraiya-Sensei?" Jiraiya tensed slightly and turned around. He breathed a sigh of relief seeing Naruto. "What is it Naruto? Can't you see I'm- Wait, you mastered the Shadow Clone Jutsu?" Jiraiya asked surprised written all over his face.

The clone nodded his head. "Yes, leader told me to find and tell you that he is trying to master it." Jiraiya smiled and stood up from his spot. 'Seems he has everything you had and more Minato.'

Jiraiya kicked the clone, dispersing it, and giving the memories back to Naruto.

########

-2 years later- (Naruto is ten)

Many things have happened in the last two years. One of those many things being the relationship between Naruto, Sasuke and Tenten. They had grown together as friends, and as a unit.

They knew almost everything about each other, save for two specific S-rank secrets. They trained together every day, each of them trying to use their Kekkei-Genkai. Sasuke's Sharingan had shown multiple times and he had spent the last few days trying to activate it.

Tenten's control over her Wood-style was immense, and she was now trying to create her own techniques. Naruto, with the help of Jiraiya, had learned how to control his Blaze-style in half the time Kurama estimated. Control doesn't mean he could use it on the fly, but he had a good understanding of how to control his attacks.

But he didn't have anything to go off of. No one in the history of Konoha or the Land of Fire had ever had this Kekkei-Genkai. Meaning he was on his own when it came to techniques.

Speaking of Military villages, the Hidden Sand had capitulated the Land of Rivers within a year. The fastest war known to date. The Sand gained all of the land of rivers territory, along with all of their Shinobi. Which by their own choice could become missing Nins, or Hidden Sand Jonin, Chunin and Genin.

The Sand's reputation had grown due to how swiftly the war concluded. Along with the fact that their numbers moved up to twenty thousand. They now had more than the leaf. Thats not to say that the leaf is weak, obviously they are not. Infact, while they only have eighteen thousand, the leaf has some of the best shinobi in the world.

So, you could say they have less quantity, but more quality.

Speaking of quality young shinobi, it seems we have found some doing what they do best: Training.

"Wood-Style: Wood Wall!" Tenten yelled. She was in an intense Free-for all battle with Naruto and Sasuke. "Fire-Style: Fire Ball jutsu!" Sasuke yelled back.

Tenten's Wood Wall proved to be more useful than it sounded. The wall took the entire blow of Sasuke's jutsu. It stood there not a scratch on it. 'Impressive.' Naruto thought. Currently, he had his clone is his spot while he watched the battle from afar.

His two friends were proving to be quite the power houses. Even for their age.
