CHAPTER 4: RESOLUTION

A week later after Hyuga Hiashi was sent to the Intensive Care Unit, not a day goes by that Hinata, her eldest daughter, wasn't by the window, counting every breath he took. She would stand there for hours until Kho reminded her to eat or rest. She just didn't know what she could possibly offer to help her father. Even the only thing she does to earn money has become deficient in invites.

"Kho-san?" Hinata softly calls, still watching her father from the other side of the door.

"Hinata-sama." Kho quickly walked and stood beside Hinata.

"What should I do to save my father's company?" She asks, her voice almost inaudible.

"Currently, 4 out of 5 companies have withdrawn from our partnership. Not even your father's assistant is brave enough to convince the only remaining company to not cease our partnership. I guess it would be best if you were the one, as the heiress, to talk to them." Kho firmly answers as if this decision had already been agreed by everyone. Hinata could only nod. "Kho-san, will you set me an appointment with the head of this company?"

(A week before, at the Sharingan building)

Sasuke enters his office and angrily takes off his now coffee-stained suit. He then grabbed the nearest thing to him, which was a picture frame of him and his parents during his graduation, and threw it across the room, the a shattered glass being the only sound in the room other than his heavy breathing.

"Now, now, what's with the tantrums so early in the morning?" Shikamaru asked teasingly, picking up Sasuke's suit that was now lying on the floor.

"I Can't even get peace in my own apartment, now my father sends me his fucking people to keep me from going out, and this dumbass clumsy people on the streets spilling coffee all over my suit." Sasuke vents out which earns a dry laugh from Shikamaru. "What are you laughing at? You think all of these is funny?" He fumes and pushes Shikamaru lightly.

"That girl who spilled coffee on you… she is kinda cute." Shikamaru comments out of nowhere.

"Like hell I care what she looks like-"

" Your father was in his car… he saw what happened. What bothered me though is how he only had his eyes on that girl." Shikamaru stated nonchalantly as if it's the most normal thing ever.

"If he dares hurt my mother, I will fucking-"

"I swear ,Sasuke, for someone who's branded as a child prodigy, you sure as hell is slow." Sasuke shot Shikamaru a confusing look, he admits he really doesn't get where this is going.

"I hope my speculation is right, but until then, I'll leave you to figure it out." Shikamaru smirks and leaves Sasuke alone in his office.

(Present)

Hinata checks herself in the mirror to make sure she looks alright before meeting up with a CEO. She wore a lilac dress that falls below her knees, an oversized white cardigan and she paired it with her favorite white ballerina flats. She kept her hair down and fixed her bangs that were getting kinda long, she had to remind herself to have it trimmed when she comes back.

"Hyuga-san, Uchiha-sama is waiting for you." A lady called, as Hinata walked slowly towards Uchiha Fugaku's office.

"What brings the Heiress of the Hyuga Corp. in my building?" Uchiha Fugaku smiles at Hinata, that it sent goosebumps through her neck. Does he know her? Why does it seem like he has known her for life.

"Uchiha-sama…" she said, fiddling her fingers, something she does when she gets nervous. "I would like to ask a favor." Hinata looks at the man across her as he nods at her, waiting for her to continue. "My father has been in and out of the hospital for a year, and… well, my father's business isn't doing very well, uhh… ever s-since… " she stutters and looks down again, unable to continue as she is starting to feel the shame creep up. "You are the only company who has not withdrawn from the partnership… please don't…" she squeaked, not really knowing what to say. She should've rehearsed multiple times what Kho had taught her, but instead, she went blank the moment he enters the room and all she could say was that. She suddenly finds the floor interesting, trying to avoid the Uchiha's gaze, oh, how she wishes she was born a bug, maybe she wouldn't be in this situation right now.

A loud laugh startles Hinata in her trance and she quickly looks up at Fugaku.

"Your father hasn't taught you much about business, has he?" His remark made Hinata wanna bury herself alive. Should she just be honest and tell him what she's really been up to? 'But what if he tells my father?' Hinata contemplated.

"I know you didn't go to business school." Fugaku calmly stated. Hinata couldn't say a word, and instead just looked at the man across her astounded. Who is he, and why does he know?

"How…"

"Say, Hinata-hime" he smirks, "I'll give you a proposal." Hinata was now all ears. "I'll keep your little secret from your father, I'll even help you and give you proper training on your father's business, but I need something in return." Hinata smiles excitedly and nods at Uchiha Fugaku's offer, she would do anything and everything for his father's-

"I want you to marry my son."

What?
