CHAPTER 9: IT'S ALL FUN AND GAMES

Sasuke glared at Hinata for most of the dinner, Hinata notices it but tries to avoid his stares and pretends to listen to what Fugaku has to say, but she would be lying if she says she hadn't stolen glances at the godly creature from across her. She hasn't seen a man this good looking all her life. Even though she thinks of this as purely business, she can't help but feel somewhat relieved for what his 'husband to be' looks like.

' He's got his father's stern look, but he got his mother's beauty.' she giggled to herself.

"Is there something funny, Hyuga?" The man across from Hinata, hissed. She got so lost in her own world that she didn't realize Sasuke was explaining something to his father and she just interrupted him.

"I'm sorry…" she quickly apologized. Sasuke continued speaking to his father about the current status of their business, not leaving his eyes on Hinata, which made Hinata cramped and lowered into her seat.

"So Hinata, how are you?" Hinata heard Mikoto softly ask. She immediately looks at her as Mikoto's smile brings a familiar warmth into her body. "I am doing fine, Mikoto-sama." she stuttered. "Hmm, call me Mikoto. You are going to be my daughter soon after all." She smiled fondly at Hinata. Before Hinata could answer, Fugaku cleared his throat to get everyone's attention, and both Hinata and Mikoto snapped their heads towards him.

"Enough with Sharingan since that is not the reason we are here today. Let's talk about your marriage." Fugaku stated earning a groan from his son. "Mikoto and I have already planned the date of your wedding. It will be 3 months from now, on the first day of winter." Hinata quickly glanced at Sasuke who was already glaring at Hinata. "Sasuke, you will get a 2-week off for your postnuptial vacation." Hinata felt her blood drain from her body as soon as those words left Fugaku's mouth, she wasn't expecting he would talk about that too. "And lastly, tomorrow, your engagement will be publicized. I am hoping for good press in these 3 months, Sasuke." Fugaku warned his son who was looking on the other corner of the room.

As soon as Fugaku had finished giving both Hinata and Sasuke some instructions, he immediately stood up, announced his departure and left the room with Mikoto following right after, leaving both Hinata and Sasuke alone in the room.

Hinata realized they were all alone and so she quickly stood up from her seat and was about to walk out the room when she suddenly felt someone gripped her arms, well obviously it was Sasuke. He turned her around and Hinata looked up as he towered over her.

"What do you really want, Hyuga?" He scowled as his grip on her arms got tighter. Sasuke already knows she was in it for her father's hospital bills, but he knows that this girl has deeper motives, and he will find it out soon.

'Sasuke can't know the real reason why you accepted this offer.' Fugaku's voice echoes through Hinata's head. What was she supposed to say then? Hinata is not good at lying, that one thing is for sure. She has to come up with something or she'll end up getting bruises from how tight Sasuke's grip is.

"It's because I like you." Hinata blurted out, she had to mentally slap herself. "The moment I saw you, when we bumped into each other, I already knew it was you who I wanted to marry." She stuttered. Sasuke's hold on Hinata loosened as he looked at her puzzled. What the hell was she trying to do? He knows the real reason, but why does he feel weird hearing those words from her. He actually doesn't know if he'd call it weird, but still, he doesn't like the feeling.

"Hyuga Hinata, your driver is here." Hinata was relieved, if the waiter had not come, she would've burst out crying and tell Sasuke her real reason.

She carefully took Sasuke's hand off, but as soon as she did, she noticed that his hands were covered in cuts. "What happened?" She gasped. Even though Hinata despises the man, everybody around her can attest that she has a heart of gold, she would still genuinely help someone even if that person had hurt her. "Shut up." Sasuke hissed, pulling his hand away from her and left her there standing all alone.

"I am disheartened that I was not invited to your engagement party, Uchiha Sasuke." Shikamaru dramatically gasped at Sasuke as he read the article on his ipad aloud "Sharingan's heir, Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuga Corp.'s heiress, Hyuga Hinata held a secret engagement party over the weekend. The Heir and Heiress are set to have a private wedding this December."

Sasuke rolled his eyes as he blew a puff of smoke into the air. "This Hyuga girl…" he trailed off. "Are you starting to get feelings?" Shikamaru teased, setting down his ipad on the table preparing for Sasuke's confession.

"She's obviously naive. I'm going to make her life miserable within these 3 months until she backs out from this stupid arrangement." Sasuke smirked.

'Oh no! Here he goes with his games again.' Shikamaru thought, but he can't really do anything about it, once Sasuke sets his mind into something, best believe he'll give his 100%.

What Sasuke's assistant didn't know was that Sasuke had not stopped thinking about what Hinata said last night…

'It's because I like you.'

'The moment I saw you, when we bumped into each other, I already knew it was you who I wanted to marry.'

"Hn. You have no idea what you just got yourself into, Hyuga." Sasuke whispered to himself.
