CHAPTER 14: DRUNK-DAZED
"Do you really think this is a good idea?"
"Hn."
"But Sasuke, she seems like a really nice person."
"Don't fall for it. Sooner or later, she's going to show who she truly is."
Hinata looks at herself in the mirror one more time, tugging her dress down as she thinks it's too short, but everytime she does, it only makes her cleavage more visible. She scans through her closet for something that would partially cover her since it's a Saturday afternoon and Hanabi is probably in the kitchen doing what they usually do, bake or read. She then finally found a long brown coat and put it over her.
"What have you gotten yourself into, Hinata?" She muttered to herself as she gathered her stuff ready to leave their house.
Walking quietly down the stairs, Hinata spots her little sister by the kitchen, reading a book. As they made eye contact, Hanabi glared at her older sister and continued reading her books. Hinata wanted to approach her, but she seems like she still isn't in the best mood.
"Hinata-sama! Yamanaka Ino's driver has arrived." Natsu informed Hinata. Hanabi looked up at her sister, not expecting that she was still looking back at her, she quickly avoided her gaze and pretended to continue reading her book, when all she really wanted was to run to her sister and hug her.

Hours had passed since Ino's party started. The lights had started to dim, music got louder and people started to get drunk as they danced in the middle. It was the first time Hinata attended an adult party on her own, she was sitting in the corner eating cupcakes by herself. She watched as Ino effortlessly entertained her guests, something Hinata thought she should work on. She observed how Sai would occasionally place his arms around Ino's waist, steadying her since she had already drunk a few bottles of beer, and how Ino would blush when he did, to Hinata they are literally a perfect match. She then imagined her being Ino and Sai, Sasuke, how he would look at her adoringly with his pair of onyx eyes and whisper sweet words to her as people around them envy what they have. She doesn't even like him like that, but since they were getting married anyway, she just wants to imagine what their relationship will become in the future. Although Sasuke doesn't speak to her, she still wished he was here, or it could be Shikamaru, she just wants to see someone familiar in the crowd, other than Ino.
Hinata then snapped out of her imagination when she felt someone sit beside her. "Why is a pretty girl like you sitting alone?" a low voice whispered in Hinata's ears that sent shivers down her spine. She quickly turned to him and watched a white haired guy with glasses look at her up and down, as his eyes stopped at her chest. "Kabuto." He introduced himself, extending his hand towards Hinata. Not really knowing what to do, she forced a smile at him and slowly backed out. Kabuto, however, doesn't like being rejected and grabs Hinata's arm, forcing her to sit back down.
"I want to know your name, Hime…" He scoots closer to Hinata. "I…I-" Hinata stammers.
"Kabuto!" Hinata was startled as someone slumped down between her and the weird white-haired guy, who she was grateful for.
"Shikamaru-san!" Hinata gasped as she released a breath, she didn't know she was holding.
"I see you've already met Uchiha Sasuke's fiance?" Shikamaru smiled reassuringly at Hinata.
"Fiance?" Kabuto looked at Shikamaru confused. "Sasuke is here?" Hinata can sense the fright in Kabuto's voice.
"He can't come, sadly. He would've wanted to introduce his fiance himself." Shikamaru smirked at him, Hinata was now the one confused, not really understanding what's going on.
"I'll go get a drink." Kabuto excused himself.
"Hinata-sama!" Shikamaru exclaimed when Kabuto had left.
"Shikamaru-san. Thank you." Hinata bowed at her life-saver.
"It was no big deal, he can be a creep sometimes." Shikamaru laughed.
"Hinata-chan! Drink this!" Ino ran toward both Hinata and Shikamaru's table as she pushed a glass of beer to Hinata.
"Ino, thank you, but I don't drink alcohol." Hinata shyly declined.
"Oh, come on! For me?" Ino pouts. Hinata contemplated, but she also didn't want to disappoint her friend.
"You don't have to do it Hinata-sama." Shikamaru interjected but was shocked that Hinata took the glass from Ino.
Hinata scrunched at the strong smell of beer as she lifted it to her lips. She can feel Ino excitedly waiting for her to drink it and Shikamaru looking at her curiously.
"Chug! Chug! Chug!"
"Ino!" Shikamaru scolded her blonde friend.
Hinata then did something they weren't expecting, she drank the glass in one go, completely emptying it's content as her face showed a disgusted look, disapproving of how it tasted.
"Yayyyy! You did it Hinata!" Ino cheered as she hugged her friend who was still trying to process the taste of what she drank.
—-
It was an hour past midnight and Hinata didn't know how much she had drank as she felt dizzy, nauseated and everything around her was a blur . Ino gave her another glass, this time an orange colored drink with a cherry on top.
"This one is called Sex on the beach." Ino proudly smiles at her.
"What?" Hinata blushed as she heard a word that was taboo to her.
"Drink it." Hinata took the glass, and slowly sipped on it.
As Hinata drinks whatever Ino was offering, she doesn't know why she felt like she was being watched. She knew the people around her were occasionally taking glances, but somewhere far away, she felt like there was somebody watching her every move.
—-
On her fourth shot glass, Hinata was now disoriented, she sensed someone trying to drag her to the dance floor and she doesn't know where she got the strength to sit still. She searched for her blonde friend and the pineapple guy sitting beside her, but they were nowhere to be found.
'Hinata, don't do anything you'll regret tomorrow. Stay with me.' her conscience spoke to her.
"Hime, let's dance!"
"No!"
"Come home with me…"
"No!"
"Come on! It's gonna be fun."
"No!"
"Come on." Hinata felt something wet touch her neck. Disgusted, she tried pushing the person away, but this time, he was much stronger than her. The person placed her arms around Hinata's waist and pulled her closer to him, as his other hand traveled up to her chest.
"I don't see Sasuke around-"
Expecting the worst, Hinata closed her eyes and prayed Shikamaru or Ino would come and get her. She was relieved when she felt the person loosen his grip and finally let go of her. A loud thud startled her and watched as a body dropped on the floor in front of her.
"Sasuke!" was the last thing she heard before passing out.
