As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over Pallet Town, Ash couldn't contain his excitement. He rushed home, bursting through the front door with a wide grin on his face. Delia, his loving mother, was waiting for him in the living room, a knowing smile on her face.

"Mom, guess what!" Ash exclaimed, his voice filled with anticipation.

Delia laughed softly, her eyes sparkling. "Well, don't keep me in suspense, Ash. What's got you so excited?"

Ash took a deep breath, his words tumbling out in a rush. "Riolu hatched today! He's incredible, Mom. We have this amazing bond, our auras resonate with each other, and I can feel how strong he is."

Delia's eyes widened with delight, and she clapped her hands together. "Oh, Ash, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you and Riolu. Tell me everything. How did it happen?"

Ash eagerly launched into his tale, describing the thrilling encounter with the poacher, the rescue of Riolu's egg, and the moment when Riolu hatched, their eyes meeting for the first time.

"He was so small and fragile, Mom," Ash said, his voice filled with wonder. "But as soon as our eyes met, something incredible happened. Our auras connected, and I could feel this deep bond forming between us. It was like we understood each other without even saying a word."

Delia listened intently, her heart swelling with pride for her son. "That sounds absolutely amazing, Ash. It's a bond that not many trainers get to experience. You and Riolu are truly special."

Ash's eyes lit up, and he clasped his hands together, pleading with his mother. "Mom, you have to come to the lab and meet Riolu. I want you to see our bond for yourself."

Delia's smile softened, and she placed a hand on Ash's shoulder. "Ash, I would love to meet Riolu, but it's getting late. We should let him rest for now. Tomorrow, I promise, we'll go to the lab and spend time with him."

Ash's face fell, disappointment written all over it. "But Mom, I can't wait until tomorrow. I want you to see him now."

Delia chuckled and shook her head gently. "Oh, Ash, you're so eager. But it's important to let Riolu settle in and get used to his new surroundings. We'll have plenty of time to get to know him, I promise."

Ash pouted, his bottom lip jutting out. "But Mom, I'm a big boy now. I can handle it. Please?"

Delia's eyes softened, and she knelt down to his level. "Ash, you may be a big boy, but sometimes we need to be patient and understanding. Riolu needs time to adjust, and so do we. Let's make tomorrow extra special, okay?"

Ash sighed, realizing his mother's point. "Alright, Mom. Tomorrow it is."

Delia ruffled his hair affectionately. "That's my responsible Ash. Now, it's time for bed. You need your rest too."

Ash protested half-heartedly, but he couldn't resist his mother's gentle nudging. As she tucked him in, he couldn't help but let out one last whine.

"But Mom, I want to show Riolu how big I am now."

Delia chuckled softly, leaning in to give him a kiss on the forehead. "Oh, Ash, you'll always be my little boy. But don't worry, tomorrow will come before you know it. Good night, sweetheart. Dream of exciting adventures with Riolu."

With a contented smile, Ash finally settled down, his mind filled with visions of his newfound partner. As he drifted off to sleep, his heart brimming with anticipation, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the bond he had formed with Riolu and the love and support of his mother.

The next morning, Ash's excitement was palpable as soon as he opened his eyes. He sprang out of bed with a renewed energy, his mind filled with thoughts of Riolu. He quickly made his way to the washroom, rushing through his morning routine with unmatched enthusiasm. But in his haste, he stumbled and tumbled down the stairs, landing with a soft thud.

Delia, hearing the commotion, hurried to Ash's side, her concern etched on her face. "Ash! Are you alright?" she asked, her voice a mix of worry and gentle scolding.

Ash rubbed his sore backside and flashed a sheepish grin. "I'm okay, Mom. Just a little stumble. I'm too excited to meet Riolu!"

Delia sighed, a mixture of exasperation and amusement. "You need to be more careful, Ash. Rushing like that won't do you any good. Now, come and have your breakfast."

Ash eagerly sat at the dining table as Delia served his favorite pancakes. The aroma of freshly cooked pancakes filled the air, making his stomach growl with hunger. He dug into his food with gusto, devouring each bite as if he hadn't eaten in days.

Delia watched him eat, a mixture of fondness and concern evident in her eyes. "Slow down, Ash," she gently chided. "You're going to choke if you eat so quickly."

Ash swallowed hard, clearing his throat. "Sorry, Mom. I'm just too excited. Can't wait to see Riolu again!"

Delia sighed and reached for a glass of orange juice, placing it in front of Ash. "Well, you need to drink some juice to wash down all that food. And remember, moderation is key, even when you're excited."

Ash took a long sip of the orange juice, refreshing his throat. He looked up at his mom with wide eyes, his excitement bubbling over. "Mom, can we go to the lab now? I really want to see Riolu!"

Delia chuckled and ruffled Ash's hair affectionately. "Alright, Ash. Finish your juice, and we'll head to the lab. Just remember to calm down a bit. Riolu will be there waiting for you."

Ash nodded eagerly, gulping down the rest of his juice. He couldn't wait any longer. Ash and Delia make their way to the lab, their footsteps echoing in the quiet morning air. The sun casts a golden glow over the town as they walk side by side, their hearts full of anticipation.

As they enter the lab, Professor Oak greets them with a warm smile. "Ah, Ash and Delia, good morning! I see you're both excited to see Riolu."

Ash nods eagerly, unable to contain his enthusiasm. "Yes, Professor Oak! Riolu hatched, and it's amazing! I can't wait for my mom to meet him."

Delia smiles warmly at the professor, her eyes shining with curiosity. "Thank you for taking care of Riolu, Professor Oak. Ash has told me so much about him. I'm really looking forward to this."

The professor's eyes twinkle with delight. "It's my pleasure, Delia. I'm glad Ash found such a remarkable Pokémon companion. Come, let's go to the special area where Riolu and Lucario are."

As they approach the area where Lucario and Riolu are being kept, Ash's excitement reaches a fever pitch. His heart pounds in his chest, knowing that this moment will solidify the bond between him, Riolu, and his mom.

And there, in the corner, stood Riolu and Lucario. As soon as Riolu spotted Ash, his eyes lit up, and he bounded toward him, tail wagging with excitement. Ash knelt down, his own eyes shining with joy, as Riolu jumped into his arms.

"You're here, Riolu!" Ash exclaimed, his voice filled with delight. "We're going to have so much fun together!" They share a deep connection, their auras resonating with each other. Riolu's eyes shimmer with a vivid blue hue, mirroring the excitement and joy in Ash's own gaze.

Riolu nuzzled against Ash's cheek, emitting a soft purring sound. The bond between them was unmistakable, their auras pulsating in perfect harmony. It was a connection that transcended words, a bond that could only be felt.

Ash looked up at Lucario, gratitude and admiration filling his eyes. "Thank you, Lucario," he said earnestly. "Thank you for trusting me with Riolu. We'll take care of each other."

Lucario nodded, a hint of a smile on its face. It could sense the genuine love and determination in Ash's words. The aura bond between Ash and Riolu was a special gift, and Lucario knew they were destined for remarkable adventures together.

As Ash and Delia bask in the enchanting aura of Riolu's presence, Delia's eyes soften with affection and curiosity. She extends her hand, slowly approaching the small Pokémon. Riolu lifts its head, its blue eyes meeting Delia's warm gaze.

Delia's hand hovers above Riolu's head for a moment, a gentle smile gracing her lips. With a tender touch, she softly strokes Riolu's silky fur. Riolu leans into the caress, its body relaxing under Delia's touch.

"Oh, you're so adorable," Delia murmurs, her voice filled with motherly warmth. "Ash, Riolu is just precious. I can see why you two have such a strong bond."

Ash beams with pride, his heart swelling at the sight of his mom connecting with his newfound Pokémon companion. "I knew you'd love him, Mom. Riolu is special, just like you."

Delia chuckles, her eyes shining with affection. "Well, I have a feeling Riolu and I are going to get along just fine. We'll make quite the team, won't we?"

Riolu responds by nuzzling Delia's hand, a sign of acceptance and trust. Delia's touch brings a sense of comfort and reassurance to the young Pokémon.

"It's... it's incredible," Delia whispers, her voice filled with awe and wonder. "The bond between you two is so strong."

Ash nods, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, Mom, it's like we're connected on a whole different level. Riolu and I understand each other without even saying a word."

Delia places a hand on Ash's shoulder, a mix of pride and tenderness in her touch. "Ash, I can see how much Riolu means to you. Cherish this bond and take care of each other. You've found something truly special."

Ash looks up at his mom, his eyes brimming with gratitude. "I will, Mom. I promise."

As they stand there, immersed in the moment, Professor Oak joins them, his voice filled with warmth and wisdom. "Ash, Delia, the bond between Pokémon and Trainer is a remarkable thing. It goes beyond words and creates an unbreakable connection. Treasure this experience, for it will shape your journey as Pokémon Trainers."

Ash and Delia nod in unison, their hearts filled with a newfound appreciation for the world of Pokémon and the incredible bond they now share. The adventure that lies ahead seems even more exciting and promising.

As Ash and Riolu continued their playful interactions, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment, Delia and Professor Oak watched from a distance, their hearts filled with pride and warmth. They knew that this newfound partnership would shape Ash's journey in ways they couldn't yet imagine.

With Delia bidding everyone farewell and reminding Ash to stay out of trouble, the atmosphere in the lab becomes focused once again.

Inside the bustling lab, Gary Oak can't help but feel a tinge of envy as he watches Ash and Riolu bask in the glow of their newfound bond. The twinge of jealousy gnaws at him, fueling his desire to prove himself as a worthy trainer.

With a mischievous smirk, Gary saunters over to Ash, his eyes glinting with playful rivalry. "Well, well, look who thinks he's special with his little Pokémon. Trying to steal the spotlight, huh?"

Ash's eyebrows furrow, his competitive spirit ignited. "Jealous much, Gary? Just because Riolu chose me doesn't mean you have to get all worked up."

Gary chuckles, a touch of sarcasm lacing his voice. "Oh, I'm not worked up, Ash. I just thought you might need a reality check. Let's see if your so-called bond can stand up to a real challenge."

Ash straightens his posture, his gaze determined. "Bring it on, Gary. I'll show you what it means to be a true Pokémon trainer."

As their banter escalates, the air crackles with electric energy. Each word is a sharp arrow aimed at the other's pride, their rivalry fueling the flames of competition.

Professor Oak observes the exchange, a mixture of amusement and concern evident on his face. He intervenes, his voice gentle yet firm. "Now, now, boys. There's no need for this. Remember, your journeys are about growth, friendship, and learning. Let your Pokémon and actions speak for themselves."

The words hang in the air, momentarily quelling the tension between Ash and Gary. They exchange glances, their determination momentarily giving way to a shared understanding.

Ash takes a deep breath, his voice softening. "You're right, Professor Oak. It's not about who's better, but how we grow as trainers and support our Pokémon."

Gary nods, a flicker of respect gleaming in his eyes. "I guess we got caught up in the heat of the moment. Let's focus on becoming the best trainers we can be, for our Pokémon's sake."

Turning their attention back to Professor Oak, Ash and Gary found themselves filled with anticipation as the professor held up the sleek device in his hands, the Pokedex. Its polished surface gleamed under the lab's fluorescent lights, reflecting their eager faces.

"Now, let's continue with our lessons, shall we?" Professor Oak's voice resonated with authority and knowledge. "Today, I'll be providing you with an in-depth understanding of the Pokedex, an indispensable tool for any aspiring Pokemon trainer."

Ash leaned forward in his seat, his eyes locked on the professor's every move. Gary, equally captivated, adjusted his glasses in anticipation.

"The Pokedex," Professor Oak began, "is a comprehensive electronic encyclopedia of Pokemon species. It contains vital information such as a Pokemon's type, evolution chain, habitat, and unique characteristics. It's an invaluable resource for trainers to expand their knowledge and make informed decisions during battles."

Ash's hand shot up like a bolt of lightning. "Professor Oak, how does the Pokedex gather all this information? Do trainers contribute to it?"

The professor's eyes crinkled with a smile, acknowledging Ash's enthusiasm. "Indeed, trainers like you play a vital role in the accumulation of data. Your encounters with Pokemon, whether during battles or in the wild, provide valuable insights. Researchers also study Pokemon behavior, habitat, and evolutionary patterns to enrich the Pokedex's database. It's a collaborative effort between trainers and scientists."

Gary, not one to be outdone, raised his hand with equal fervor. "Professor Oak, how accurate is the information stored in the Pokedex? Are there ever discrepancies or errors?"

The professor nodded, appreciating Gary's keen analytical mind. "Excellent question, Gary. While the Pokedex strives for accuracy, it's important to remember that knowledge about Pokemon is continuously evolving. Sometimes, new discoveries or research can lead to updates or corrections. Trainers like you are at the forefront, observing and recording data firsthand, which helps refine and improve the accuracy of the Pokedex."

Ash's eyes sparkled with excitement as he eagerly raised his hand once more. "Professor Oak, how do we navigate through the Pokedex? Is it easy to use?"

The professor chuckled, delighted by Ash's enthusiasm. "Ah, navigating the Pokedex is a breeze! It has a user-friendly interface with various search options. You can search by Pokemon name, type, or even by region. It's designed to provide quick access to the information you need, making your journey as a trainer more efficient and rewarding."

Gary, not to be left behind, cleared his throat and posed his second question. "Professor Oak, how does the Pokedex classify different Pokemon types? Is there a systematic method behind it?"

Professor Oak nodded appreciatively at Gary's astute query. "Absolutely, Gary. Pokemon types are classified based on their elemental affiliations, strengths, and weaknesses. For example, Fire-types are strong against Grass-types but weak against Water-types. Each type has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, creating a complex web of strategic interactions. The Pokedex provides comprehensive information on type matchups, helping trainers make strategic decisions in battles."

As the discussion unfolded, Ash and Gary were engrossed in the wealth of knowledge Professor Oak shared. Their questions and the professor's detailed answers created a dynamic and interactive atmosphere within the lab, fostering a deeper understanding of the Pokedex and its significance in their journeys as trainers.

After a series of engaging interactions and informative exchanges, Professor Oak concluded the lesson. "I'm impressed by your curiosity and thirst for knowledge," he said, a proud smile spreading across his face. "Remember, the Pokedex is not just a tool, but a gateway to unraveling the mysteries of the Pokemon world. Use it wisely, and it will guide you on your path to becoming a Pokemon Master."

With a renewed sense of purpose and armed with the knowledge bestowed upon them, Ash and Gary bid farewell to Professor Oak, their minds buzzing with excitement. They left the lab, their steps infused with newfound determination and a burning desire to explore the vast world of Pokemon.

Ash however didn't go home as planned but instead chose to spend more time with Riolu and Lucario, he becomes increasingly curious about their aura abilities.

"Lucario, can we talk about the aura bond between me and Riolu?" Ash asks, his voice filled with genuine curiosity, placing Riolu on his lap and scratching his head. Riolu purred softy.

Lucario turns towards Ash, her aura pulsating with a serene energy. "Of course, Ash. The aura bond you share with Riolu is a special connection. It signifies the deep trust and understanding between a Pokémon and its trainer. It allows you to communicate on a level beyond words and strengthens your bond in battles."

Ash listens intently, his eyes fixed on Lucario. "How does the aura bond work? Is it something we can control?"

Lucario nods, her wise eyes gleaming. "The aura bond is a natural connection that forms between you and Riolu. It intensifies when you synchronize your thoughts, feelings, and energies. You can tap into this bond to enhance your training, increase your understanding of each other's intentions, and even share emotions."

Ash's excitement grows as he realizes the depth of their connection. "So, does that mean we can use the aura bond to become even stronger?"

Lucario smiles, a glint of pride in her eyes. "Indeed, Ash. With practice and focus, you can harness the power of the aura bond to strengthen your battling skills and unlock new abilities. But remember, it requires trust, patience, and the willingness to listen to each other's aura."

Empowered by this newfound knowledge, Ash spends the following days bonding with Riolu, practicing their synchronization and deepening their aura bond.

Meanwhile, Professor Oak observes their progress with a keen eye, recognizing the potential they possess. He approaches Ash, a warm smile on his face.

"Ash, I must say, the bond between you and Riolu is remarkable," Professor Oak remarks, his voice filled with admiration. "You have a natural affinity for understanding Pokémon and connecting with their aura. It's a gift that can take you far in your journey."

Ash's eyes light up with excitement and gratitude. "Thank you, Professor Oak. I'm eager to learn and grow together with Riolu. I want to become the best trainer I can be."

Professor Oak places a reassuring hand on Ash's shoulder. "I have no doubt that you will, Ash. Keep nurturing your bond, keep exploring the wonders of aura, and you'll continue to surprise yourself."

END CHAPTER

AN: I did end up writing this chapter till 3.3k words but it is quite difficult to write these chapters as there isn't anything else to do. So I am thinking of doing a time skip. Ash is currently 10 year old. I will perhaps show them 1 year later while Riolu is now ready to train alongside Ash in the ways of Aura. Also I had this thought of Ash learning martial arts. Lucario will give them the pointers on Aura, and they'll pick up from there. Do let me know what you feel.

And I AM in need of a Beta Reader. Please do contact me via PM or join the discord server where we can chat.

I also have a discord server Blade's Realm. You can join there and chat with me, I am quite active on discord. And I also release bits of my chapters early on discord. That way, you can give an early review and I can rewrite some stuff.
