Moment Two: Shota Aizawa

Shota Aizawa could only sigh as he watched Kagome and Eri walk ahead of him. The young white haired girl was smiling happily as she clutched to the raven haired young woman's hand. The two were babbling about something, probably something girly. The two had taken a sudden liking to trying out all the 'cute' popular new hairstyles for little girls.

Normally he would be supportive of anything that made his girls happy, if only they didn't insist on practicing with his hair. Not even two days ago he had taught his class with a forgotten ribbon in his hair...something Bakugo would not shut up about...needless to say the loud mouth ended up in Kagome's office getting patched up from an extra harsh training session. Something the young nurse was still salty at him about, wasn't his fault Bakugo didn't know when to shut up...

Eri glanced back at him a small frown on her face at how far he had fallen behind them. "Papa, keep up!" He froze at Eri's words, his eyes widening. D-did she just call him..papa...

Eri paled, her eyes widening as tears gathered in them. She quickly snapped her mouth shut and hid her face in Kagome's side, her body shivering in fear. Stupid! She was so stupid to let that slip out! Now he was going to be mad at her, maybe even hate her! She didn't want to get sent away, to be tossed out like trash again...

Kagome frowned down at the shivering child, her fear was almost palpable. The poor child was as pale as she had been when they had first rescued her from Overhaul all those months ago. Lifting her eyes to shoot Shota a dark glare. Trying to impart how critical it was for him to respond, to reassure the small girl they had been charged with taking care of and had both come to love.

Shota could only gulp, his red tinged obsidian eyes meeting Kagome's bright blue orbs. He read her lips and sighed, his hands in his pockets as he slumped his shoulders and picked up his pace. In no time he was next to his girls and gave a low inaudible sigh as he pulled his hand from his pocket and placed it on the quivering Eri's head. He frowned as she jerked under it, as if expecting to be reprimanded for her slip. Once again he cursed the bastard known as Overhaul, the man had done so much to hurt the small child that he and Kagome would be picking up the pieces for years to come.

"Sorry kiddo, I'll be sure to try and keep up. Let's go get some lunch." He smiled down at her as she peeked up at him, her eyes watery but full of hope and affection. He rubbed the top of her head affectionately as he let his hand fall from it to offer to the small child. She beamed up at him and latched to his hand, her grip tight and her hands clammy from the sheer amount of fear she had been experiencing.

Smiling Kagome leaned over to place a quick peck on his cheek before pulling away a smirk on her lips as he grumbled about PDA under his breath. No matter how rough and gruff he tried to appear to everyone else he was a big softy under his many crunchy layers.

Eri could only beam her hands holding onto Kagome's and Shota's respectively. She didn't have many good memories in her short life but if she really forced herself to think back this feeling, it was the same one she had with her first mama and papa, before things went so horribly wrong. The feeling of safety, happiness, and love...it was a welcomed one and she knew, just knew, that she would never have to want for this feeling again because her parents, while not by blood, would always be here for her.

Finally she was where she was supposed to be and it made everything that had happened to her worth it. She had her happily ever after and it was only the beginning of her new life with her new family.
