Moments Frozen in Time

Seven months.

That was how long Kagome had been pregnant thus far. Okay, officially it was right around twenty-eight weeks but who was really counting?

Hawks cupped his chin thoughtfully as he peered at the array of baby bottles.

"Is there really such a difference between glass and plastic?" He picked up both packages, weighing them evenly in his hands. "Oh hell, the glass bottles are heavy! What if the babies drop it?!"

He set the glass bottle back.

Nope.

Not in his house.

The young man wandered over towards the crib section. Kagome had already ordered one online but it hadn't arrived yet. The package was supposed to have been delivered two weeks ago. No amount of customer service calls got them any closer to locating the damn thing either.

His brows dipped into a sharp furrow.

That simply would not do.

"Should I get one or two?" He glanced around the prices. "Kagome did say that the twins will likely need to be kept together."

It was a miracle honestly.

They'd gotten married right at the age of twenty. He usually kept his marital status out of the media but Kagome had been apart of his life since he was twelve. They attended the same schools together, graduated together and became pro hero's together. She was his everything.

So when they had difficulties getting pregnant, they'd almost given up hope.

His mouth curled into a smile.

That month they hadn't even suspected anything. They'd gotten so used to "false symptoms" that they'd ignored all the red flags. At least until her period was late. One pregnancy test later they'd finally gotten the news they'd hoped for.

Except it wasn't just one baby.

It was two.

They were both thrilled. Especially since they'd chosen to avoid learning said genders of their children.

It'll be a fun surprise

Those had been Kagome's words. Whatever happened, he didn't care either way. Just as long as all three of them were safe, healthy and happy.

His smile lit up as he saw Kagome's contact flash across his phone.

He wouldn't trade this for the world.
