Friendships And Maybe More.

Blake was once against spending some time by herself to read another book she's found. But she was not alone, Severa was hiding behind a wall. She also got a strange feeling whenever she was thinking about Blake. Yang claimed that Severa simply had a crush on the mysterious black haired girl. Severa kept on denying it and in the end Yang simply told Severa to just ask Blake to hang out with her for a bit, maybe then things should clear up for her. Severa thought that would be easy, but now that she was here... she somehow had trouble actually asking Blake to hang out with her.

"Come on, it's so easy! Just walk up and ask her to hang out! It's no different from hanging out with Yang" Severa told herself, but she just didn't know what to say. She was new to this whole social thing.

She was similar to Bernadetta in that regard, only instead of being scared of other people, Severa simply just preferred to be alone most of the times. Something that needed to change now that she was in a team and was making friends. Maybe she should've spent a little more time practising her social skills, since she could really need them right now.

"Severa?" Came a voice next to her. Severa screamed in surprise and backed away, causing her to trip and fall in to a bush "Oh my god! Are you alright?".

Severa stepped out of the bush while rubbing her chest "Gawds Blake! My heart!".

"Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, I swear. I just noticed you were hiding behind the wall and I wondered what you were up to" Blake said, but after it became clear Severa wasn't hurt, Blake couldn't help but to giggle "But your reaction was pretty funny. Never seen you get spooked like that".

"Well I'm glad scaring me half to death was funny for you" Severa said annoyed.

"Sorry. But what were you up to? Why are you hiding?" Blake asked.

Severa blushed as she took a deep breath "Well... Yang figured we should get to know each other. Since I am her close friend and you are her partner. So I was trying to think a way to ask you out... Wait! I mean just to hang out for a while!".

Blake blinked before smiling "No need to put so much thought in to it. Just ask".

"That's what I've been telling myself... Well, Blake, want to hang out?" Severa finally asked.

"Sure, I got nothing else to do. So where are we going?" Blake asked.

Having finally calmed down, Severa managed a smile "Well how about we head in to the city of Vale for a bit?".

"Alright, we need to hurry to catch the airship" Blake said.

"Crap you're right! Let's go!" Severa said as she hurried of.

Blake chuckled but followed. They made it on time and took the airship back to Vale. Once there they began walking around. The city of Vale is divided into multiple sectors, having an upper-class district, a commercial district, an industrial district, an agricultural district and a residential district. So no shortage of places to check out. But Blake was a little surprised by what Severa was checking out.

"I never knew you liked jewelry, Severa" She said as she watched the red haired girl checking out some jewelry.

Severa looked at her "Why are you surprised? Most girls likes jewelry".

"Yes, but you are not exactly like most girls I've seen" Blake admitted.

"What does that mean?" Severa asked.

"Nothing bad, I promise. It's just, you always seemed to be this tough girl who cared more about becoming stronger. Guess it's just surprising you like more girly stuff like this. And it's not a bad thing by any means" Blake answered.

"Do I really act so little like a girl? I always thought I was reasonably normal" Severa said.

"Well you are part of a special family" Blake reminded.

Severa sighed "You just had to bring that up".

"Oh sorry, I forgot that it was a sensitive topic for you" Blake quickly apologized.

"It's ok Blake. I am just so sick of people only seeing me as the daughter of the great Huntress Cordelia. I want people to see me for who I am, not what I am" Severa said. Little did she know, that was something Blake could relate to.

"Well, I can't speak for everyone else. But you will always be Severa to me" Blake said.

Severa smiled at that "Thank you Blake. Now enough sob stuff, time for some scouting!".

Blake almost giggled as she and Severa continued on. They went to a bakery and Severa was bending over to look at some of the cupcakes. This reminded Blake of the little thing in the library a while back where Severa looked at something she shouldn't have looked at. Blake couldn't help herself, and decided to get some minor payback by giving Severa's butt a quick look. Severa's light brown pants was hugging her average sized back side pretty well. Now it was Blake's turn to blush. Why was she even doing this? But then she realized something.

"Severa. Maybe you shouldn't bend over like that" Blake said as she looked around.

"Why? Is something the matter?" Severa asked in confusion.

Blake tried to find a good way to say it "Well you are... kind of showing something of".

"What are you talking about?" Severa demanded until she realized something "Wait... Are you looking at my a-".

"Hold on! I think there is a noodle stop nearby!" Blake said quickly before grabbing Severa's arm and pulled her along.

"Wait! Stop! I haven't bought a cupcake yet!" Severa cried as she was being dragged away.

Soon they had bought some noodles. There was an awkward silence as Severa was adding a lot of hot sauce on her noodles, at this rate they would be way to spicy to eat. Blake got a little nervous at that.

"Don't you think that is a little to much hot sauce?" She asked.

"I can handle it" Severa said simply, while applying even more hot sauce.

"Are you... mad at me?" Blake asked.

"I am not mad! Just annoyed. I wanted that cupcake" Severa answered, but it was obvious that it wasn't just the cupcake that bothered her.

"I'm sorry Severa, I didn't mean to look at your... well back side like that. It's just you were bending over in front of me, so it was kind of hard not to" Blake said with a blush.

Severa blushed too "Well guess this is Karma for the Library... I'm sorry Blake. I was trying to make us have a good time, but I screwed it all up".

"Severa..." Blake said softly.

"I wasn't honest with you before, Blake. Yes Yang did suggest I'd ask you to hang out. But it wasn't just because she wanted two of her closet friends to get to know each other. I genuinely wanted to spend time with you so we could get to know each other better, if only so I could figure out why I get such a strange feeling whenever I think about you. But I'm just not very good at these things. I'm so used to doing things by myself, and I barely know how to do anything with someone else" Severa admitted.

"Wait... did you have any friends before coming to Beacon?" Blake asked, sounding worried.

Severa looked down "No... not a single one. Being the daughter of Cordelia made frienships very difficult. Many believed I was to good for them, and that there was no point in trying to befriend someone like me. And those who wanted to be my friends, only wanted it because they wanted to raise their own popularity by being friends with the daughter of a famous Huntress. In short, they would be false friends who didn't care about me at all, only about their own gain... So as I'm sure you can imagine, I was rather lonely. Pyrrha was the only person who made me feel less alone, since mom was always so busy and my father is nowhere to be seen".

Blake listened to every word Severa said. She understood now. Why Severa was so rough, and why she was so difficult to approach. She was lonely, and no one had ever wanted to be a true friend to her. No wonder she was like this. She grew up mostly alone, and that would indeed make it difficult to open up to others. Blake was familiar with the feeling of having trouble with letting people in, though for mostly different reasons. Severa had been blessed with a lot of talent, but what she really wanted, and needed, was someone who cared about her. Beacon and her team might just be the first sense of friendship she had ever experienced.

Blake put her hand on Severa's own, making the red head look at her "Severa, you are not alone. Not anymore".

Severa looked surprised before she smiled and quickly wiped her eyes before her tears could be seen "Thank you Blake".

Blake smiled back "You're welcome".

"Alright, time to eat, I am starving!" Severa declared as she picked up her chopsticks and ate a big chunk of her noodles... but seconds later her eyes became wide and turned white as her face soon matched the color of her hair. She suddenly fell out of her seat and landed on her back.

"Severa! I told you that was to much hot sauce! Drink some water! Drink some water!" Blake yelled as she quickly poured water in to Severa's face.

Some time later, they arrived back at Beacon. It was already getting dark so most students were likely back in their dorms by now. Severa and Blake walked for a while before they came to a stop.

"Well, this sure wasn't what I expected. But I gotta admit, despite all the awkward stuff, I had fun" Severa admitted.

Blake smiled "I had fun too, Severa. You are an interesting person to hang out with".

"Thanks... Say Blake? If you don't mind me asking, but why are you wearing that bow all the time? Is there something special about it?" Severa asked.

Blake was silent for a while "I'm surprised you asked. Not even my teammates have asked about it. But there is a reason I wear it... but it's personal".

"Sorry, I won't ask again" Severa said.

Blake stopped her "No, it's ok... Severa, you are not the only one who's had strange feelings. And I feel like I can show you this. But promise you won't say a word to anyone".

"I promise" Severa said without hesitation.

Blake looked around to make sure no one else was around before she took a deep breath and slowly removed her bow. Severa was surprised to see... cat ears? Blake had cat ears.

"Wait, you are a faunus?" Severa asked, earning a nod from Blake "Why keep it a secret? Are you worried that assholes like Cardin is going to pick on you?".

"Well that's part of the reason. I don't want to attract any unwanted attention. Just like you, I want to be seen for who I am, not what I am" Blake answered.

"Oh. I understand, really I do. Do not worry Blake, your secret is safe with me. But your team should know about this too. If you trust a hot head like me with something like this, then surely you can trust them" Severa said.

"I will, when the time is right. Guess you are just that special" Blake said as she put her bow back on.

"So are you... I-I mean it's not that a like you or anything! I mean I do like you! I-It's just well, damn it! Let me start over!" Severa began to stumble over her words and Blake suddenly began laughing "What's so funny!?".

"S-Sorry! You are just so bad at this!" Blake said between laughs. Severa glares and was about to say something... until Blake suddenly hugged her "But really Severa. Thank you for putting so much effort in to getting to know me. And you succeeded, I feel a lot closer to you now than before. And I hope we can do this again soon".

Severa blushed at that "Sure...".

Blake smiled as she walked away. Severa put her hand on her chest before she smiled. This worked out really well after all.

.

Was planing to give some attention to some other characters too. But Severa and Blake just stole all the time I had. Guess it could be because they are two of my favorite characters and writing Tsundares are really fun. So the other characters will need to get their own dedicated chapters in the future.

Tell me what you think.
