Black And White.

To say things had gotten a lot more gloomy was an understatement. Blake and Weiss had gotten in to a nasty argument over the White Fang with Weiss angrily telling Blake that she despises the White Fang because they are liars, thieves, and murderers. Letting her emotions get the best of her, Blake yelled that the White Fang were tired of being pushed around, accidentally referring to them as we, revealing not only that she is a Faunus, but also that she has a connection with the White Fang. Upon realizing what she had done, Blake paniced and ran from the dorm with inhuman speed. Severa tried to run after her, but was unable to stop her from leaving

Two days later, Blake still hadn't returned to Beacon, forcing her team to go out and look for her. Team LSBL volunteered to help them and they began searching different parts of Vale. As Team LSBL were looking around, Severa had been very quiet and didn't even seem to be looking for Blake at all as she spent most of the time just looking at the ground.

"Severa?" Lyre spoke making Severa stop and look up at her "I am pretty sure Blake isn't digging around underground. You will have an easier time finding her if you look around more".

"If we can find her" Severa said bitterly, making everyone stop and looked at her in shock.

"What do you mean Severa? You and Blake are pretty close, right? Figured you'd want to find her more than most" Lucina said.

"I do! It's just... it's been two days. For all we know she isn't even in Vale anymore. After what happened, she might've just taken the first trip to another Kingdom" Severa said, sounding frustrated "Blake might not want to be found".

Everyone were silent until Bernadetta was the one to speak up "Maybe... but we have to at least try. I don't want to loose another friend".

Lucina put a hand on Bernadetta's shoulder "We will find her, Bernadetta. If she is still in Vale it's only a matter of time before we find her".

Bernadetta smiled at her "Thank you, Lucina".

"Alright, we'll find her faster if we split up. Me and Severa will continue searching this area. Lyre, Bernadetta, try looking elswhere. If you find her, call he rest of us" Lucina ordered.

Everyone nods and did as ordered. Lucina and Severa continued their search with Severa being a little more active than before. But it was clear as day she was really bothered by this whole situation. Lucina could tell there was more to this than just searching for a missing friend. This seemed to be more personal for Severa.

"Alright Severa, could you please tell me what is really bothering you?" Lucina asked.

Severa stopped and sighed "I knew what she was... Lucina. I knew she was a Faunus".

Lucina looked surprised "You did? How?".

"She showed me. She told me she trusted me. I... I felt so happy when she did. It felt that we had a connection, and that I had finally found someone I could... never mind. But she never told me she had any connections to the White Fang. All that talk about trust... Yet she hid something like this from me. Something this massive isn't something you hide from people you claim to trust" Severa said, sounding really upset.

Lucina was silent for a moment before she spoke "Severa... maybe she didn't tell you because she was scared. Scared that if you knew she was connected to one of the most infamous criminal organizations... you might not want to want her in your life anymore".

Severa clenched her fists "How could she possibly think that!? Just how unbelievably daft could she be to not realize how much I Lo... How my I care about her!?".

Lucina blinked "Wait, were you about to say that-".

"Shut up!" Severa warned, holding up her fist.

Lucina raised her hands "Alright alright. Sill we need to find her so you can tell her yourself".

Severa sighed "You're right. Let's find that idiot".

Lucina smiled as they continued their search for Blake.

A little while later, Lyre and Bernadetta were doing their search. Lyre used her sharp senses to see if she could pick up any trail Blake could've left behind. Bernadetta looked around, looking really worried, but not about herself.

"Relax, Bernadetta, we will find her" Lyre said.

"But... what if Severa was right? What if Blake really isn't in Vale anymore? Then we will never find her" Bernadetta said, sounding really scared.

"Bernie, what Severa said was just something she said because she was upset. I doubt Blake would just up and leave Vale. She is still here, somewhere. I can feel it" Lyre said.

Bernadetta gave her an confused look "How?".

"I just can. Point is, Blake is still in Vale and we are going to find her" Lyre declared.

Bernadetta smiled and nods. She had a feeling as long as they worked together, they could accomplish anything. So they continued their search until it started getting dark... and then suddenly an explosion was heard in the distance. Lyre and Bernadetta turn around upon hearing the noise, seeing the smoke rise from the docking bay just a few buildings away.

"What happened?" Bernadetta asked in concern.

"Bernie, call the others! I will check it out!" Lyre said as she took of running and climbed up a building with her claws.

"Wait! Lyre! You can't go alone! Lyre!" Bernadetta called after her teammate.

Lyre jumped from rooftop to rooftop, sometimes even running on all four to give herself more speed and make it easier for her to jump. She continued to run until she reached the docks. Once there she saw Blake and that monkey boy they saw a couple of days ago. They were fighting against Roman Torchwick... and much to Lyre's dread, the White Fang. Lyre really didn't want to see the White Fang again... and she began scanning the battlefield.

"Please don't be here, please don't be here, please don't be here..." She repeated as she was looking for a certain someone... and much to her despair, she saw her... the unmistakable cat tail was clear as day. The mysterious figure was standing on a container, holding a rifle, and looked ready to shoot at Blake and the boy "No!".

Lyre rushed towards the girl, who turns just in time for Lyre to tackle her of the container, making them land on the side away from the battlefield. The girl forced Lyre of her and looked ready to fight but paused when she saw who had just tackled her. She looked surprised when she saw Lyre, and it was clear she knew who she was.

"Lyre..." She whispered.

"Take of that silly mask. I know it's you... Sister" Lyre said.

The girl hesitated before removing her grimm mask, revealing her face. She looked very similar to Lyre, she even had the same eyes. Only difference was that she looked more mature and had shorter hair.

"Long time no see... Lethe" Lyre said, sounding sad "I really hoped you wouldn't be here".

"And I hoped you wouldn't show up... so you really did it. You became a Huntress" Lethe said, but didn't sound proud at all.

"Well I am still in training. But once I graduate, I will be another warrior of peace" Lyre said, trying to sound confident, but her sister's disappointed eyes made it very hard.

"I really hoped you were just joking about that... So you are still holding on to that fantasy" Lethe said.

"I'll take my fantasy over your reality any day. How can you still be with the White Fang after all the atrocities they have committed?" Lyre asked.

Lethe narrowed her eyes "How can you side with the humans after all the atrocities they committed against our people?".

"I am not siding with the humans! I am trying to help our people! Becoming a Huntress and show the world that human and faunus can fight side by side" Lyre said.

Lethe sighed in annoyance "You just refuse to grow up. Wake up Lyre! Peace between Faunus and humans are impossible! Or have you forgotten that our parents died because of them!?".

"I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN!" Lyre screams, before forcing herself to calm down a little "I will never forget that day... But what about the White Fang? How many families have you and your new friends torn apart in this bloody crusade?".

Lethe looked away "If it helps free our people from being stepped on by the humans... then I will do anything".

"All you have done is justify humanity's fear of us. You are only making things worse" Lyre argued.

"Shut up! I've heard enough of your blind fantasy! Now get out of my way, I got a job to do" Lethe warned.

Lyre looked hurt but then she glared and got in to her fighting stance "I am not going anywhere. I will stop you myself if I have to".

Lethe sighed and put her mask back on "You haven't changed at all. Fine, but don't ever say I didn't warn you".

Lyre let out a battle cry as she dashed at Lethe, aiming to punch her in the face. But Lethe simply took a step to the side, allowing Lyre to fly right past her. Lyre slides to a halt and quickly attacked again, throwing several punches which Lethe easily avoided with no noticeable effort on her part. Lyre then threw a kick which Lethe easily caught with her hand, before pulling Lyre towards her and delivered a punch to Lyre's gut, sending her tumbling across the ground before she lands on all four. She coughed a little from the punch. Lethe was even stronger than she was the last time Lyre saw her. She really hasn't been sitting around doing nothing.

"Still predictable, Lyre. Didn't that worthless school teach you anything new?" Lethe asked, but she wasn't mocking Lyre at all, she really wondered if Lyre had learned anything from her time at Beacon.

"You will soon find out!" Lyre declared as she launched herself at Lethe, claws ready.

Lethe quickly grabbed Lyre's wrists, stopping her from getting any closer to her. She slowly overpowered Lyre who retaliated with a headbutt which made Lethe let go of her and backed away. Lethe's mask broke apart, but she didn't look worried. Lyre attacks again with her claws, but Lethe avoided most of her slashes, and managed to stop several of them by blocking Lyre's wrists and ended Lyre's assault by punched her in the face, making her stumble back. Lethe calmly walked towards Lyre who tried to hit her, but Lethe swiftly punched her in the gut before catching Lyre's fist, grabbed her arm, and then threw her in to the container. Lyre was not ready to give up yet, so she climbed the contain before leaping of it, trying to perform and air attack. But Lethe grabbed Lyre's arm and threw her in to the ground.

"Stay down, Lyre. I was always a better fighter than you" Lethe said.

Lyre struggled to stand up "Yet, you didn't join the fight alongside the others".

"Because I refuse to help that filthy human Torchwick. I am loyal to the White Fang, but I will never willingly work with a human. I was planing on killing him and then blame it on that girl and boy" Lethe said.

"Murder someone and then frame others? What has happened to you Lethe?" Lyre asked, shocked her sister would ever do something like that. Sure Roman is a scumbag, but still.

Lethe's eyes darkens "Humans are filth, and he is the nastiest of filth. I don't know why Taurus wants us to work with him, and I don't care. I joined the White Fang to fight against humans, and that hasn't changed".

Lyre couldn't believe what she was hearing, her sister's hate has gotten worse "You have changed Lethe...".

"Maybe I have. But remember, you were the one who left me" Lethe said, her tone mixed with anger and hurt.

Lyre looked down "You didn't give me a choice".

"And now you have given me no choice" Lethe said as she charged up and attack.

Before Lyre could react Lethe delivered a powerful blow to her chest, sending her flying across the ground, and her aura was now drained. Lyre struggled to get up but Lethe walked up to her. She looked sad as she raised her foot to end the fight. But suddenly stopped and looked to the side. Lyre did the same and saw Penny.

Penny's backpack mechanically opens up, and from its dark depths comes a single sword that extends and multiples into several blades hovering over Penny's back. Leaping from the rooftop with the weapons acting as wings, she sends three of her swords to knock two White Fang soldiers down before even landing on the ground, where she proceeds to fling the swords at one enemy, impale another to a wall, create a barrier of spinning steel against a running attack, leaping over a goon with her swords in tow, and finally making a wheel that she throws to knock multiple Faunus off their feet.

Lyre looked amazed while Lethe was starting to get worried.

Three Bullheads come from the skies and open fire on the battle, but Penny merely forms a shield and launches two of her swords into the wall behind her, which in turn pull their wielder back with their strings. When her swords swirl around her again, she commands them to open their points and build up a large glowing ball of green light. With a punching action, several bright lasers crack the pavement when they fire at the transports and slice each one in half, causing several of the White Fang members inside to fall and letting Ruby watch as Bullheads fall in pieces behind her.

Stunned, she turns back to Penny as she aims her swords at the remaining Bullheads holding the crate of Dust and pulls back on their wires, tugging the aircraft with them.

"Wow..." Lyre said in awe.

Seeing the Bullhead's flight fall under Penny's control, Roman grimaces and turns to run towards the last transport. Penny, after her large green pupils dilate for a second, pulls with all her might on the strings, and the aircraft crashes into a stack of crates, causing an explosion as a result.

Roman was watching from the safety of his escape "These kids just keep getting weirder..."

With his observation made, he uses his cane to close the doors, and the jet lifts off, flying away from the lost battle. Lethe cursed under her breath and just ran away before she could be caught.

"LETHE!" Lyre cried out but could do nothing as her sister vanished in to the darkness. A tear ran down Lyre's face as she looked down.

"Lyre!" She looked up and saw Bernadetta run up and hug her "I was so worried!".

Lyre hugs her back. Despite the pain from the battle, she needed this. Soon Blake and the boy walked up to them.

"Lyre, Bernie?" Blake spoke.

Bernadetta looked at her and then at Lyre, who just smiled and nodded. Bernadetta let go of Lyre before running up to Blake and hugged her hard. Blake was surprised until she heard Bernadetta begin to sob. Guilt hit Blake like a knife to the heart. Bernadetta must've been so scared after she ran of like that. Blake gently hugged her back, rubbing the shorter girl's head.

"I'm sorry Bernie... I'm so sorry" Blake said as Bernadetta continued to cry.

Later, a handful of police cars are at the docks, where Ruby, Blake, the boy who's name was Sun, and Penny are sitting on boxes in silence. During their time there, Blake had gotten the chance o explain everything. How she used to be a member of the White Fang, until she left them when they became to violent. She wanted equality and peace, not violence and fear.

The silence was broken when. Weiss and Yang appear on the scene. Soon followed by Lucina and Severa.

Ruby got up, speaking quickly to explain the situation "Look Weiss, it's not what you think, she explained the whole thing. See, she doesn't actually have a bow, she has kitty ears and they're actually kind of cute...".

Weiss ignores her and squares off with Blake who was calmly looking her down "Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang. Back when I was with the-".

"Stop! Do you have any idea of how long we've been searching for you?" Weiss asked "Twelve hours. That means I've had twelve hours to think about this. And in that twelve hours, I've decided..."

Lyre, Bernadetta, Yang, Sun, and Ruby look on, worried.

"I don't care" Weiss said.

Blake looked surprised "You don't care?".

"You said you're not one of them anymore, right?" Weiss asked.

"No, I-I haven't been since I was younger-" Blake began.

Bu Weiss silenced her "Ah-bahp-bahp-bahp! I don't want to hear it. All I want to know is that the next time something this big comes up... you'll come to your teammates. And not some..." She looks at Sun behind her as she catches herself "Someone else".

Blake looks at Ruby and Yang grinning at her, she wipes a tear from her eye, nodding "Of course".

Weiss smiles and nods. The moment is serious for a second more until Ruby screams waving her arms wildly "Yeah! Team RWBY is back together!".

As everyone gather with each other, Weiss points accusingly at Sun "I'm still not quite sure about how I feel about you!"

Sun laughs nervously at that. It would take a while before the ice queen warms up to him... and that might be a really long time.

Ruby looks around "Hey, wait a minute... Where's Penny?".

"She must've left in a hurry... still, we are not quite done yet. Severa?" Lucina spoke, looking at her teammate.

Severa took a step forward, and Blake looked a little nervous "Severa...".

"Tell me the truth Blake... why? Why didn't you tell me?" Severa asked.

Blake looked down "I'm sorry... I wanted to tell you... I was just worried that...".

"That I would hate you if you said you were part of a criminal group?" Severa asked.

Blake nods in guilt "Yes...".

"Are you daft?!" Severa asked loudly.

Blake jumped a little "What?".

"Did you really think I would hate you for that? If you are not with them anymore, then what do I have to be mad about? You need to trust me a little more than this, Blake!" Severa said, sounding more annoyed than angry.

"You're right. I swear I will not keep such big secrets from you anymore" Blake said.

"Good, because if you ever, and I mean EVER, run of like that again. I will find you and punch you right in your beautiful face!" Severa declared.

Blake blinked "Beautiful?".

Severa blushed when she realized what she said "Y-you know what I meant! Don't do this again!".

Blake smiled with a small blush of her own "Understood".

"Hold on, we all totally heard you call Blake beautiful! You can't deny it now, Severa" Yang said with a knowing smirk.

"Sh-shut up! It was just a little slip up!" Severa said, blushing even more.

Blake smiled and gave Severa a kiss on the cheek... Severa's face soon matched her hair and she ended up falling on her back, much to everyone's surprise.

"Did she just...?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, she just fainted" Lucina answered.

There was a brief silence before everyone burst out in to laughter. They never expected Severa of all people would faint from a simple kiss on the cheek. Turns out she is softer than she looks. They laughed for a bit until Lyre let out a cough as she was still in pain.

"Ow. Hurts to laugh" She said as she rubbed her side.

"You're hurt. What happened to you?" Weiss demanded.

Lyre sighed "A very bad family reunion".

"You are so reckless. Come on, let's get you patched up" Weiss said as she helped Lyre stand.

Lyre blushed but smiled "Why thank you Weiss, I-".

"Don't talk, just walk!" Weiss ordered. Lyre giggled but did as she was told.

Lucina lifted Severa on to her back "Well guess we should get out of here too".

Yang looked at Bernadetta "What about you Bernie? Do you want to be carried too?".

Bernadetta blushed bright red "N-no need! I can walk on my own".

"Oh but I insist" Yang said as she scoops Bernadetta up in her arms.

"Aaah! Put me down! Put me down!" Bernadetta yelled.

"Relax, I am just going to carry you back. Let's go!" Yang said as she carried he blushing Bernadetta away.

The others smiled at each other before following their friends. An amusing end to a taxing ordeal.

During the night Roman walks into a large warehouse with a shadowy interior. He goes over to a table and places down a case of mysterious contents, sighing in tiredness.

"How very disappointing, Roman" Came a female voice behind him.

Roman turns around suddenly when he hears the voice and their noisy entrance "Whoa! Hehe... I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon...".

A woman with yellow eyes and flowing dark hair could be seen through the darkness "We were expecting... more from you".

Roman laughs a little before getting serious "Hey! You were the ones who suggested working with those stupid mutts from the White Fang".

The woman chuckles darkly "And you will continue to do so" She summons a fireball in her hand and steps out of the darkness with her three companions, a gray-haired man, a mint-haired, tanned woman and another man who was wearing a mask over his mouth "We have big plans for you, Roman. All we ask is... a little cooperation".

Things were going to get darker from here.

That marks the end of Volume 1. Tell me what you think.
