Fury Of The Beast.

Team LSBL stood outside the building they were supposed to relax in. They had some team bonding, but the moment was completely ruined by the arrival of the Black Beast. The grim they had spent several hours trying to find. They never expected the Beast would be the one to find them instead, yet there it was, eyeing them with It's blood red eyes... the eyes for pure evil. Everyone stood ready with their weapons out, and while Bernadetta was clearly nervous about facing that monster again, she made no moves to run away, and stood by her team. Last time they fought the Beast, they barely made it out alive. But things has changed since then. They were all stronger and more skilled, and on top of that, they were a team. This time will be different.

"It's the same grimm, isn't it?" Lyre asked.

Lucina nods "No doubt about it, that is the same Black Beast we fought during our initiation. I really hoped that fall would kill it... seems like I underestimated just how tough it was".

"Don't put this on yourself, Lucina. We all believed it was dead, nothing I've seen before could survive a fall like that" Severa said.

Bernadetta gulped "But we can beat it this time. Right?".

"Yes, because we are not the same group of girls that this monster faced before. We are ready for it this time! Now let's show it what a real team can do!" Lucina declared.

"Right!" The other girls said together, including Bernadetta, and they all got ready to fight.

The Beast snarled before letting out a roar as it began storming towards them, cracking the ground with each step. The team stood ready, waiting for it to get close, before they scattered. The Beast looked around, trying to find the girls before an arrow hit it in the face. It glared in the direction the arrow came from and saw a scared Bernadetta standing on a roof top. It roars again as it charged at her, making her yelp as it stood on it hind legs and tried to get her. However, while it was focused on Bernadetta, Lucina and Severa quickly struck it's hind legs, causing it to roar in surprise and minor pain as it got back on all four as Lucina and Severa quickly falls back to avoid an potential counter attack. The Beast was about to chase them, before Lyre leaps on to it's face and scratched It's eye, making It roar in pain as Lyre jumps away.

Growing increasingly frustrated by these hit and run tactics, the Beast became more and more aggressive. Charging like a feral animal towards Lyre who leaps out of the way, making the Beast's head go through a wall. It pulls it's head free, just in time to be hit in the face by an explosive fire arrow. It barely had time to react before Lucina and Severa attacked both sides of It's head with powerful strikes. The attacks actually made it stagger back as it shook It's head, trying to clear It's vision.

"It's working! Focus on the head, and I'm sure we can bring it down!" Lucina called out.

The Beast growled and now it has finally had enough. It stood on It's hind legs and let out a loud roar, which made the girls cover their ears. But something was different about the roar... it sounded a little different too. When it finally stopped, something else could be heard from the distance... The girls looked and saw hordes of different grimms running towards the area they were in.

"Oh you've have got to be kidding me!" Severa shouts in frustration.

"It called for help! Can Grimm do that?" Lyre asked.

"Apparently, this one can" Lucina said with narrowed eyes.

"What do we do? No way we can fight such a large grimm horde and the Beast at the same time!" Bernadetta said, feeling really worried about how they would survive this.

"J-Just let me think" Lucina said, trying to think of what to do about this far more dangerous situation.

"Think fast!" Severa called out as the Beast and the rest of It's fellow grimm began closing in on them.

Several Beowolves climbed on to the roof and charged at them. The team got ready to fight for their lives... until suddenly a long whip like sword slashed clean through the grimm before they even had a chance to reach the girls. The team looked and who they saw filled them with relief.

"Professor Byleth!" Bernadetta called out happily.

"Sorry I'm late. I was patrolling the outskirts of the village before I heard the Beast's roar. Then I saw all these other grimm showing up, and knew you were all in real danger. I'm sorry for not being here earlier" Byleth said.

"What matters is that you're here now. Now what's the plan?" Lucina asked.

"Focus on the smaller grimm. I will handle the Beast from now on" Byleth instructed.

"But we can help you bring it down" Severa argued.

"You are helping me. Keep the other grimm away so I can focus on the Beast" Byleth ordered.

"You heard her team. Let's make sure she has some breathing room" Lucina said, earning nods from her team as they went to fight the weaker grimm.

Byleth leaps down on the ground and looks at the beast, which glares at her. It roars before charging at her. Byleth readied her sword before running at the Beast. The large grimm opens It's jaws in an attempt to devour her, but Byleth slides under It's jaws and struck both It's front legs in one quick slash. The sudden pain in It's legs, caused the Beast to stumble and ended up dragging It's face across the ground. The Beast came to a stop and glares at Byleth who looked back with a stoic face. The Beast roars in anger as It attacks again, trying to crush Byleth under It's feet, but the experienced Huntress avoided each attack before she stabbed her sword in to the Beast's foot, making It roar in pain and tossed her away. Byleth flips through the air before landing perfectly on her feet. She looks up and sees the Beast once again charging at her like the raging monster it is.

Byleth stood ready this time, waiting for the Beast to get closer. Once It was close enough, Byleth leaps to the side and extends her sword in to it's whip form and scores a direct hit in to the Beast's face. Temporarily blinded and disorientated The Beast losses It's footing, and crashes to the ground. Byleth had finally succeeded in wearing the Beast down. Now she could deliver the killing blow and the mission will be an success. Byleth walks up to the Beast, which glares at her defiantly, having finally taken enough damage to no longer pose a serious threat. Byleth get's ready to plunge her sword in to the Beast's neck, and finally kill the monster... until suddenly, the ground began to shake.

Everyone stopped what they were doing as they felt the shaking. They looked around and finally saw what was causing the ground to shake... It was a massive grimm standing 20 stories tall at the shoulders, with giant, white tusks, large ears, a long trunk and a white and red patch on their foreheads. Like most Grimm, it has bony, white protrusions on their bodies, with a massive row of them going down their spines. Everyone looked in either worry or pure horror when they saw it.

"That's..." Lyre began, her voice shaking a little.

"A Goliath" Lucina finished for her teammate.

"No..." Byleth whispered.

However, her distraction allowed the Beast to recover enough to strike her with It's horne. Byleth's aura saved her from being impaled, but the force of the blow sent her flying clean through a building before crashing in to another one.

"PROFESSOR!" Bernadetta screamed in terror.

"Damn it! We need to get to Byleth, quickly!" Lucina ordered.

Receiving no arguments from her team, they all hurried to where Byleth had landed. She was a little bruised, but other than that she was ok, as her students quickly gathered around her. The situation had taken a drastic turn for the worse, as non of them expected a Goliath to show up out of nowhere like that. They must've been to focused on the Beast and the smaller grimm to notice the approaching giant.

"Professor Byleth! Are you ok?" Lucina asked in concern.

Byleth looked up before she gasped "MOVE!".

The group barely had time to get out of the house before the Goliath's massive foot crushed it. Following their professor, the Team hurried to gain enough distance from the Goliath. They didn't stop until they were certain that they had some breathing room.

"Professor, what's the plan?" Lucina asked.

"We need to hurry to the drop zone, where we can be picked up and taken out of here" Byleth answered.

"Wait, we are running away?" Lyre asked.

"The mission is a failure. One large grimm, I can handle. But two are to much, even with your help" Byleth said.

"But the Beast is injured, we can finish it now!" Severa argued.

"Even if we could, that Goliath would kill us after we wasted what's left of our energy on killing the Beast. We will die if we try to continue to fight. Besides, with it's injures, the Beast would be foolish to attack anything and it will take a lot of time for it to recover. Enough time for it to be tracked down and killed at a latter time. But for now, we need to retreat and head back to Vale" Byleth said, her tone final.

Despite most of the team wanting to stay and finish the Beast, all of them knew they couldn't argue with Byleth, so they had no other choice but to follow her lead, and they began to escape. It wasn't easy. While it wasn't to hard to stay ahead of the Goliath, the smaller and faster had to be fought of, which almost gave the massive grimm a chance to catch up. The group ran as quickly as they could, until they finally saw the Bullhead. Extending her blade, Byleth managed to kill enough grimm to clear a landing zone, allowing her and her students to enter the Bullhead and it flew away right before the Goliath could stop them.

The remaining grimm watched the huntresses escape. The Beast even climbed on top of the Goliath and rested on it's head while watching It's enemies escape. It let out a low growl, clearly angered that they got away.

Back in the Bullhead, the team was less than pleased with themselves. Once again they had failed to kill the Beast, and it was now free to continue It's dangerous existence. No question about it. This mission was an complete failure.

"Damn it..." Lucina said silently.

"Don't blame yourself for this, Lucina. We all did the best we could, and we survived" Lyre said.

"But the damn Beast is still alive... No one is safe until it's dead" Lucina said, clearly disappointed at her inability to finish the monster.

"But you heard what Byleth said. We did a real number on it, so it wont be a threat for a long time" Bernadetta said.

"I'm afraid I have to agree with Lucina on this one. We failed, plain and simple. Our mission was to kill the Beast, and when we finally had the perfect chance to do so, we failed" Severa said in frustration "That beast needs to die...".

Lyre looks at her "Severa, are you alright? You seem more set on killing the Beast than any of us".

Severa looked at her hands "I had a feeling about it before, but I just wasn't sure. But now I am. I have encountered that Beast before, even before the initiation... That Beast almost killed me when I was a kid. I was lucky that a huntsman showed up and saved me".

"Severa..." Lucina said silently.

Before their talk could continue, Byleth came out from the cockpit "We will be arriving in Vale shortly. Try to relax. Once you are back in Beacon, I will handle the mission report while the rest of you get some rest".

"Thank you Professor" The girls said at the same time.

Byleth smiled, before an alarm could be heard in the distance. Everyone were no on high alert as they looked towards Vale.

"Wait, the city is under attack!?" Lyre asked in shock.

Byleth narrowed her eyes "Are you girls up for one more battle?".

"Yes Ma'am!" The Team said with no hesitation.

"Good. Pilot, take us to Vale. Now!" Byleth ordered.

Seems like sleep will have to wait a bit longer.

Back in Vale Ruby recovers from a crash. She hears the sound of an emergency alarm blaring as her vision comes back with buildings into her view. She turns her head to the lower right and sees Blake and Yang slowly getting back up, her sister coughing as the dust settles. She turns her head again and sees Weiss sitting up against a large piece of debris, who also gives a thumbs up at her team leader signaling she's okay and Ruby sits back up. The team of huntresses then notice, much to their chagrin, that they have returned to the central part of Vale, and multiple civilians in the area notice them among the debris. Ruby hears the sound of low rumbles and growls from behind her. Suddenly, a giant King Taijitu emerges from the hole, and multiple Grimm start pouring into Vale. The civilians scream as they attempt to flee the chaos. The sounds of screams and roars fill the air, and all Team RWBY can do is watch in horror. Ruby's expression changes from worried and scared to angry and determined. The alarm continues to blare as the grimm keeps showing up.

Vale had suffered a breach... and the huntresses needed to fix it.
