Jaune avoided being ill on the trip back to Red Rock. Darren believed that the less opportunity he had to worry about being ill the less likely he would be. He and his team therefore had got in the habit of engaging Jaune in work related conversations when travelling by air and of ensuring that they were relevant enough to mean that he did not consciously realise that's what they were doing.
Darren had a good reason for asking about how the meeting in the City Solicitor's office had gone on the trip back. Fire dusting Judge Blanche's forests had the danger of repercussions for them. Even if they were eventually cleared of any wrongdoing, there was the risk of being caught up in expensive litigation if Blanche sued for compensation and joined them in as defendants.
He therefore described the meeting in the City Solicitor's office to them. "We proved that there had been no time to doctor the footage and Daffy and Orion backed the story. They said that you had gone beyond the call of duty in checking the forest for incoming rather than just blasting when you saw the Alpha Ursas and the Death Stalker."
Darren turned to Amber, "I'm glad you were here today. None of my team could have got down and out safely."
"It was a pleasure. Anyway, what's the good of a semblance which allows me to leap between the frying pan and the fire if I don't use it regularly."
Jaune said, "Can I check something?"
"Of course."
"Judge Blanche probably won't be able to claim on his insurance will he?"
Amber said, "Why do you think that doofus? You know mum will be cross if I tell without you trying to work out the answer yourself."
"He was resisting the compulsory destruction order in the courts on the basis that the order was unjustified. The insurance company would have put in an exception in the policy if the forest was destroyed as a result of there being a clear and present danger that would show that the order was justified. Therefore, his only way of getting compensation would be if he argued that the destruction had been malicious or unnecessary and that the LGDF should pay him damages."
Darren said "Correct."
Amber said, "Go on. There's more."
"Judge Blanche has powerful friends and if there was any chance of finding for him it is likely that they would have pushed the LGDF command in Mistral to order mother to settle for at least part of his claim. If you had failed to use the correct formula or if there was any way they could have declared the tapes inadmissible as proof, that would have been used an excuse."
"You have won the coconut."
"Presumably Mother and Jesse also deliberately chose Team Blood to bring me and the tapes in?"
Darren said, "You're ahead of me here."
"They are locals who drive around in a car called the General Lagune so they are seen as good old boys. The fact that they all saw the bullhead land and Daffy and Orion delivered me to the office of the city solicitor and signed a statement saying neither me nor the tapes left the sight makes it virtually impossible to challenge the tapes admissibility on the grounds that it had been doctored."
Darren said "That's why we keep on working for your mother, Jaune. We know she has our backs and is sneaky about it."
Amber said, "Fine before you all tell me, I should be more like her. I still say that sometimes you need to fight to change the world rather than try to work within the system to reduce the damage. As Bart Oobleck says, the rule of law is a good thing in itself, but it is not the same thing as the rule of good law."
Darren said, "I won't argue with you about that. The Sam Raven laws were so unjust that enforcing them conscientiously was not enough. Let's say that there is room for both your mother's and your approaches."
"Yes and I know that dad will have to go round his good old boy pals shaking his head about me and saying what a trial I am to mother, but that Blanche was in the wrong."
Jaune listened to this and added a question for Amber this evening. The remark crystallised for the first time something he had vaguely sensed about his parents' relationship.
Amber continued, "Darren, you will be fine. Mother can tell the others that you did everything by the book and hint that you restrained my gung-ho instincts. You went above and beyond in getting me to check the forest. It also helps with any wild accusations of faking the footage. I am in town only a few days a year, you are based here at most four to six months a year and not even Blanche would suggest that I conspired with the White Fang to arrange to be in town at the same time as they arrange an event which makes Kulsa a Grimm magnet in order to burn down his trees."
They all laughed at that. Jaune then mentioned that mother was talking about offering Team Blood an intern placement in the summer. Amber frowned and then said, "I would be interested in your views on them tonight Jaune."
They dropped him off in Red Rock. Amber told him to book a table at Marrone's restaurant for 8 tonight and produced a CD for him claiming to be a collection of heavy metal covers. "Offer Luigi this for the inconvenience. Tell him to look inside first before deciding on whether the gift is appropriate and warn him that some of the tracks on the second disc are not suitable for playing in the restaurant."
While Kulsa was the main area where negative emotions had been created by the news from Argus of the terrorist attack, it was only to be expected that there would be an impact elsewhere in Ansel and Amber, Darren and his team would go ion patrol for the next two hours to deal with any encroachments by the Grimm in the area around Red Rock.
Jaune first went to the restaurant and spoke to Luigi Marrone, the owner. Luigi was a wolf Faunus with a luxuriant tail. He was initially not certain that he could fit in Jaune and Amber until 9.30. Jaune then produced the CD and repeated Amber's message. Luigi stared at him, opened the CD, looked at it and told Jaune. "That will be fine Mr Arc. Tell your sister that the first bottle will be on the house."
Jaune then went to the local LGDF office and on his way there sent a message to Amber confirming that he had booked the restaurant and that he should be at the LGDF accommodation in town.
At the office he checked whether there was anything he needed to do. The turtle Faunus, Pete, who manned the desk and ran the office asked him to go to see a Jim Cerulean who had sent in an urgent message asking to see a human member of the LGDF at his house. He was given directions and in ten minutes time was knocking at the door. A human who looked to be in his early forties answered the door. After being told that Jaune was from the LGDF, the man unbolted the door.
He asked his wife to make him and Jaune a coffee. The wife was nervy and Jaune showed her his identity card showing that he was from the LGDF. That seemed to calm her and in a few minutes he was sitting with Jim in what looked like the man's den/office.
"Are you any relation to Nicholas Arc?"
"I'm his son."
The man further relaxed.
"I know the LGDF operates a house swap arrangement. Look, I love Red Rock and I will be sorry to go, but the wife's parents are scared for her and the children, especially after what happened today in Argus, and it's rubbed off on her. Could you see if there is any chance of arranging a move for us to Rowley where my in-laws are?"
"I can certainly see what we have available. We do charge our costs and a small commission."
"I understand. What are the arrangements for ensuring that the new house is in good condition when we move?"
"On the morning of the move one of our team in Rowley who is human will check that the house is in good condition. One of our Faunus employees or reservists from here will do the same with your house. Each will report to the team coordinating the move. If all is in order and a differential value payment is being made, the coordinator will authorise it to be released as soon as both households are ready to leave. The LGDF representative will stay in the house in Rowley until you arrive or an appointed representative of you arrives and will hand over the key. In your case, I imagine that your parents in law could collect the keys on your behalf while you are travelling. That will reduce our costs as we do charge an hourly rate."
"Fine. I just wanted to be certain the people we are swapping with don't trash the place. I can see that anyone swapping with me will want the same reassurance. What happens next?"
"One of the local reservists will come round and in effect prepare estate agent particulars and take photographs of all the rooms and the garden. He or she will then work with our team in Rowley to find a suitable swap. If you could let them know whether you are looking for a similar house, a larger one or a smaller one that will be helpful. You probably know this but the prices in Rowley are higher than they are here, so you should be prepared to make a differential payment if you wish to move to an equivalent house. We do our best to use impartial valuers in the case of a dispute, but generally people are anxious to move quickly and we have few serious disagreements."
Jaune dealt with a few more questions, took some basic details about the house and then handed the man the standard pack. He left after an exchange of pleasantries. While he could not say it directly he had little doubt that in the next few days some house would become available in Rowley. Events like todays always had the effect of encouraging moves. It was part of the job he hated, and he realised that he was likely to moan about it to Amber either tonight or tomorrow with Jasper and Debo.
He went back to the office and briefed Pete. He then put in an initial call to the Rowley office. Without giving any personal details, he let them know the basics. Apparently they had had a couple of enquiries today which might be suitable although no specific request for Red Rock. He went to the accommodation, washed, and showered, and waited for Amber. At 7.30 she and Darren's team arrived, and she quickly showered and got ready to go out.
They arrived at the restaurant on time. Luigi escorted them to their table and opened the bottle of wine for her. He also thanked her for the warning about the second disc. On their way through, a few Faunus customers came up to her and insisted on shaking her hand. Jaune noted that there were no humans other than them in the restaurant tonight.
She updated him on Saffy, Terra, and Adrian and how things were at the house in Argus. Jaune knew that Amber had funded the deposit for the house out of the sponsorship monies she had received as a result of her performance during the Mistral regionals and her first Vytal festival, but it was understood that she did not like talking about it.
She also talked about the twins and their latest exploits. They were buying a flat in Mistral City to use as a base after qualification as huntresses. They were popular and often appeared in the gossip columns of the Kingdom papers for their actions when they went partying and had even appeared in Salutations!.
The two of them looked up to Amber and insisted on paying for her in restaurants when she visited. They felt guilty that they got paid more for going out in the quarter finals in both their tournaments than Amber had for reaching the semi-finals in her first Festival and being a finalist in her second one. In both tournaments she had lost to Winter Schnee, but she had been the only contestant who had given the Atlesian break a real fight and use her summoning semblance.
Jaune updated her on Lavender's progress at ACS as well as on Debo, Lily, their husbands and the in laws. She and he would meet up with Debo and her husband, Jasper, tomorrow night.
Amber then asked about Team Blood. "If mother is willing to offer them intern placements in the holidays they must have something going for them but having the flag on the car and the horn blasting Misty seemed odd to me. Am I missing something, beyond the normal claims that they are really very nice when you get to know them and some of their best friends are Faunus nonsense."
Jaune told her about how they had saved Willy, the Mouse Faunus, from a lynch mob earlier today and had dropped him off at the external gate to the Faunus quarter. She listened and nodded. "I see. They clearly recognised him from serving them at the restaurant and even knew his name. Mum would appreciate the accurate but misleading statement they used to ensure the mob handed him over."
She looked at him, "Where did the black eye come from?"
"They got me to lie on the floor of the car as we drove to headquarters so that I would not be seen. The entry into the car park was rather fast. I did not ask the reasons for either."
"Interesting."
Jaune looked around, "Mayor Braun specifically warned them against praising you in public without including some statement that you are wrong minded. He also referred to you as dope and brave."
"And told mother to make sure I was out of town ASAP?"
"Of course."
"What do the twins say about them?"
"Cleverer than they look mainly thanks to Daffy. Proud to be Mistralian and of their heritage but not anti-Faunus. If pushed admit not everything was better in the old days."
"That's a hard trick to pull off. Ok, mother does know what she's doing."
"Thinking about it, sending Daffy and Orion to escort me to Gris's office must have been a deliberate choice by her or Jesse."
"Go on."
"Daffy is a member of the Earl clan and is a woman. If Judge Blanche called her a liar the clan would take it as an insult in a way which doubting Beau or Lucas's word would not."
"I should have seen that. I've spent too long out of Ansel. And Orion?"
"Judge Blanche is his great uncle."
"And Gris made certain that they stayed to watch the footage as well in front of him, Verdi, their teams, and the Judge himself. Clever, everyone can resist pressure because too many people know the truth. The courts are very reluctant to create precedents which question a huntsman's decision in the field and Blanche knows that."
"Amber, how far ahead did mother think this through?"
"She knows Kulsa is a tinder keg and that it was only a question of time before there was an incursion. She was always going to make certain that someone like Darren who follows protocols would be sent to patrol that area when trouble loomed. She probably discussed what was needed to protect the LGDF with Verdi. Doubt anything beyond that was pre-planned, but let's assume she knew Jesse's relatives were in town and that they were interested in interning and took a calculated risk."
Jaune nodded. "Mother wants us to talk about what happened today for the benefit of my continuing education." He described the briefing from the Atlas specialists. Amber commented that Ederne was a good sort, but that Bree had a temper and sense of tact which made Amber seem like mother. "Elm and Amin are the ones they send to brief me when I do work in Atlas."
"You deal with the Ace-Ops?"
"When they need my semblance for specific missions, and I am around Argus."
Jaune then told her about how the mayor had called in the Kingdom Guard, the curfew and the CCT lockdown.
She asked in detail about what Mayor Braun had said and done and then told him, "What did you notice?"
"He was doing his best to not upset Scarlett and saying that he needed to protect the interests of the city but as soon as the Chief of police and his team left he started talking about Faunus rather than animals."
"Go on."
"He was being a politician."
"Bingo. He tries to get Chief Scarlett to think that he is really one of the boys, but in dealing with central government and the multi-Kingdoms he has to tone it down. With mother he knows she prefers it if he does not use the rude words and hopes that she may believe that he thinks like she does."
She paused, "We will no doubt talk more about this tomorrow with Jasper."
Just then Darren came to the table accompanied by Luigi. "Amber, this just came through at the office. It's the White Fang follow up announcement. I thought you'd better see it and I preferred not to send it over the scroll." He handed her a few sides of paper.
Amber read it and half smiled, half frowned.
"Thanks, Darren. Perhaps it's for the best if you are very deaf tonight."
"The rest of the team is already on the way back to the accommodation and will be listening to loud music on their headphones tonight. Definitely doing our best three wise monkey Faunus act. You two?"
"We've started the meal, so we'll finish. See you later. Perhaps check the wine and beer stocks."
After Darren had left.
Jaune said, "Everyone seemed to think it was worse that the White Fang had killed only some of the people they captured rather than all of them. I understood the bit about making it easier for their supporters, but I got the feeling that there was more?"
"You were still sulking when the Rising Sun mine incident occurred, and the Atlas military announced that the multi-Kingdoms had been breaking the law in their operations in Vacuo. Did you ever come up to speed on that?"
"Not in detail. It resulted in a lot of ex-pats from Kulsa being sacked or made redundant by the multi-Kingdoms. I know that the Grimm attacks have got worse since then and that the White Fang became more violent afterwards."
"Bit more complicated but will do for now. What you may have missed is that it resulted in relations with Vale and Atlas worsening. The multi-Kingdoms Vacuoan operations were run largely by Mistralians and Atlas dumped as much of the blame as they could on them. They admitted a failure of oversight but said that they had expected their underlings to act like Atlesians. There was a purge of Mistralians including ones who comparatively had clean hands."
"And Vale?"
"In Vale, the cliché that we all go around attacking uppity Faunus became common again and coverage in the media became more critical. That's part of why Team Blood came as a bit of a shock as it played into the stereotypes I spend time saying are somewhat exaggerated."
Jaune thought for a minute, "Ok, we are a proud Kingdom and hate people looking down on us."
She nodded. "The White Fang are playing into this and are presenting their actions today as a form of justice. They let five go entirely and the four who were branded – well read this."
She pointed to a paragraph listing the names of four ex-employees of the SDC who had the initials SDC branded on their bums. They said that although they had been responsible for facial brandings during the mine strikes nine years ago, the White Fang accepted that they had ben junior officials obeying orders and so an infliction of pain was seen as appropriate punishment. It was not their intention to cause visible disfigurement.
Jaune looked up at her. "I can see that people may find that amusing."
"Precisely. Makes it harder to call them mindless and indiscriminate terrorist murderers. Also makes the methods of killing the others seem like they had thought about it. Chief Scarlett's brother is said to have personally murdered thirty Faunus, rape, and child abuse and being responsible for another fifty deaths. Braun's brother-in-law of being responsible for the murder of twenty Faunus."
"It's not as though they were convicted in a court."
"To which people like me six years ago would say that no one in the four Kingdoms put them on trial or even opened a criminal enquiry despite the internal documents of the multi-Kingdoms showing that there were grounds for investigation."
"You wouldn't say that now."
"Not in public at least for a few weeks and in private only with people I trusted to listen. I'd say it to the family other than Lily and dad."
Jaune thought about it, "So the media in Vale and Atlas will be talking as much about the reasons for the victims being chosen and whether the allegations were true as the deaths."
"More so. They will also be rehashing the stories from Vacuo three years ago."
Amber continued reading, "They refer to a bold and innovative operation designed to minimise the risk of innocents being injured or killed. Additional details will be released after the Military council is certain that it will not allow the persons who cooperated with them to be identified or reveal operational secrets."
Jaune again thought about it, "They are going to boast how clever they were?"
"Something like that. They will wait for a day or two in all probability. Keep's the news about them."
At a nearby table someone started singing to the tune of Jim Blue's body the words, "He jumped from forty thousand feet without a parachute, and he ain't going to jump no more."
There was a mixture of laughter and an intake of breath from the room. He saw Luigi go over to the table and have a word. Someone turned round from the table, saw Amber and Jaune and put his hands up by way of apology.
Amber smiled back as if to show that no offence was taken.
Luigi came over as if to apologise but Amber said "No problem. Why not put the first disc on?" He looked at her with surprise and she smiled. "It's just songs."
She turned to Jaune, "I don't envy Reynard his job tonight. There are going to be a lot of Faunus in Kulsa who will want to celebrate tonight, and he may it find it hard to persuade them to keep the volume down."
Jaune said, "You mentioned Atlas Gold and the long drop this morning?"
"Yes, Atlas Gold was notorious for the number of striking Faunus who fell out of a bullhead either on purpose or when attacking the security team. Scarlett's brother was head of security there."
"Mayor Braun told Scarlett that any prisoners who had been injured falling downstairs should be taken to hospital and treated before being sent back to the Faunus sector. The tone rather indicated that he expected that there were many of them."
Amber snorted, "Arranging accidents runs in the family." A pause, "I'm surprised Braun said that to him in front of mother."
"He wanted mother to put LGDF reservists in charge of security in the hospital until the Kingdom Guard arrived. I think it was a warning to Scarlett to keep his temper in check."
"When's the next election?"
"Next March."
"That could be interesting. We can't tell him about the conversation, but Jasper will no doubt have views on whether Braun has protected himself with his base."
Jaune said, "I know that Jasper will ask tomorrow what good will be served by these attacks and I will wait until then to discuss it. It's making mother's job more difficult as tensions are rising, and we are finding that Faunus are moving out of human villages and the other way round."
"It makes me and people who think like me even more unpopular. Being seen to agree at least in part with outsiders telling your fellow citizens that they are the bad guys is seen as unpatriotic, especially if it has some truth. I am spending less time in Mistral each year and I only see my old team members when they are in Vale and then we meet in private."
"Mother says that she has increasingly to focus on the Grimm threat rather than relying on people doing the right thing because it is the right thing. She's even having to remind people that she who must not be named is now operating in Kurohari Province and that it is important not to create any new sources of negative emotion."
Amber grimaced.
"I understand why people don't walk to talk about her or do anything about her, but it is ridiculous how nobody wants to talk about the fact that she controls twenty per cent of the kingdom."
A pause as she smiled to herself. "I know her brother. He's a good friend, but if you think you had it bad with us as sisters…."
Jaune did not want to go down memory lane on that side of things and changed the subject.
"You know that mother got reappointed three months ago for another five-year term. It ended up being unopposed."
"I gathered from Darren that the scuttlebutt was that no one internally wanted the job, and the potential external political candidates were seen as nutjobs. Not that's stopped them being appointed in the past, but no one wanted to risk it."
"Amber how did dad react when mother first joined the LGDF and when she became chief."
"Amused at first and eventually proud. Dad was winding down his career then and learnt to cook. Debo was happy looking after you and Lavender while the twins and Lily just needed someone in the house. Saffy helped for the first year before she went to college in Argus, and I did my share of babysitting when dad went out drinking with his friends."
"Did he help her get the job?"
"It didn't hurt that he indicated that if she was employed that he was open to turning up in emergencies or coaxing his contacts to do a stint in Ansel. You are thinking of something else, aren't you?"
"It's what you said about him earlier. Does he say things to his contacts which mean that people give mother the benefit of the doubt?"
"Oh yes. He reminds people of why mother was appointed chief and hints that it could easily have been a FJW or a Faunus appointed instead of a sensible woman."
She paused, "Look me and dad argue about a lot, but I've never doubted that he loves mother. He's proud that she started a new job when Lavender went to infant school and made a success of it. He also shares her worries."
She looked at him. "What's the matter Jaune?"
"I remember her trying to hide the fact that she was relieved when my aura failed to unlock."
Amber sighed, "She was also genuinely disappointed for you, but you've seen the photos. You are a dead ringer for her older brother. You also reminded her of him, and she was frightened for you."
She paused, "You were too brave for comfort as a child. You always wanted to do the right thing and be a hero. You would take on bullies who were twice your size and the number of times you injured yourself terrified her. It did not help that you admired me and wanted to do what I did without considering the amount of practice I'd had and my ridiculous semblance. You used to jump off the garage roof or try to vault fences."
A pause, "Mother worried about me as well, but she was happier that I at least weighed the odds up before taking risks. I'm more like her than most people realise."
Jaune stared at Amber in disbelief. "But you argue with everyone!"
"I've known mother ten years longer than you. You should have heard the rows her and dad used to have. He became more helpful around the house as he got older and once Saffy, me, and Debo got old enough to help with the younger ones it was easier."
A pause, "What really made the difference was getting the job. She's glad she had us all and married father, but part of her always regretted that when she was young, well brought up young girls did not go to combat school or have their aura unlocked."
Jaune nodded. It was the family story that they had all heard hundreds of times. Mother forced her parents to let her marry dad by persuading him to unlock her aura. It was a very Ansel version of a man getting a woman into trouble.
He listened to the music and heard a woman with a husky voice singing. "Who's that?"
"Foxy Heart. Unsurprisingly a Fox Faunus who is based in Vale but probably originally came from Mistral. Started in the clubs about two years back and got a recording contract last year. You'll probably here this around the house in the next few months as I have bought a copy for Lavender. She's banned in Mistral as she's a little political."
At the end of the meal, they slowly walked back to the accommodation. "Jaune, if you want to let off steam, do so."
"Sorry Amber. It's just that you are the member of the family I can do so with."
"Well, I am almost as obstinate as you are."
She paused, "It may be hard to hear this, but in many ways Mistral needs another good LGDF co-ordinator more than it needs another hunter. While people could in part be telling me what they think I want to hear, they all say that you are doing well. You can deal with both humans and Faunus, you ask questions, you are learning from everyone. It almost helps that your aura is not unlocked. No one expects you to take stupid risks, but you know what hunters can do and what you can do to make them more effective."
"I suppose so. It's just that even today I had a man asking me if I was dad's son. We all know how hard mother works, but no one outside the LGDF and the family seems to notice."
"They do. It's just that it works for her not to be seen as chasing after the journalists. No one thinks she is using the post to run for political office or to make other people look bad. It's just about the Grimm and people trust her."
"I suppose so. It's just that watching you today brought it home to me that I will never save people by killing Grimm and that someday soon I am going to have watch people die because I am unable to intervene."
"That happens to me as a hunter. I've learnt to live with it."
They arrived at the accommodation. Darren and his team were in the kitchen eating and he and Amber sat down in the reception room.
Amber looked at him and said, "You were thinking about mother and dad and trying to understand what makes them tick. Jaune, one of the things that marriage and motherhood taught mother is that sometimes it is best to wait until the other person was ready to agree with you rather than have the argument immediately."
"Ehhh?"
"Once Lavender went to school, dad was ready to agree to her joining the LGDF. OK, no one expected her to be in charge of the Ansel LGDF within three years, but mother quickly realised what was wrong with the organisation. She did not throw strops, but instead just did her best to work around the problems and help the people on the front line. She was promoted quickly because she was good at what she did and because she had learnt after listening for twenty-five years to dad what hunters needed from the LGDF."
"Where are you going with this?"
"Jaune when you had to leave combat school, you shut yourself off from everyone for two years. Everyone walked around you on eggshells. Mother told us all to be patient and she waited until you started showing an interest in her job. She talked about it around the table, about the work she did, and you started listening and asking questions. In the end you asked whether you could help her there and within two days you were working there. Debo called me to say just after then that she had not realised how with all of us she had waited until we spoke about doing something which she thought was right for us and then made the path easy."
"I suppose you're right, Amber. It's just I can't help wishing that I was preparing to go to Haven this autumn. Lavender was talking about the seniors doing mocks and starting to make their applications."
"Jaune, the headmaster tried three time to unlock your aura, dad tried twice. Sometimes things aren't meant to be, but you are doing your best to help protect citizens from the Grimm. It's just in a different way."
Jaune grumbled to himself.
For some reason it irritated Amber. She grabbed his shoulders and looked him in the eyes. "There's no point in wasting your time on thinking about what might have been if there's no chance of them happening and you have a good alternative in front of you."
She placed her right hand on his forehead. "OK, let's have one more go and then let it be an end of it."
She took a breath and said, "For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death. I release your soul and by my shoulder protect thee."
There was a sudden flash of yellow light and Jaune felt a rush of power. He looked down and saw that Amber was sitting on the ground looking stunned. He felt the pain from the bruises from his buffeting in the General Lagune vanish.
He offered Amber a hand up as Darren and his team rushed in weapons at the ready, "What in Remnant just happened?"
Amber stared at him and said, "I've just unlocked Jaune's aura."
She then gave her a huge hug. "Thanks Amber, I always said that you were my best sister."
Darren and the others shook him by the hand and wished him all the best.
Amber looked puzzled, "Your aura is the strongest I've ever met, Jaune. That shouldn't …" She paused, "Darren, can you get some glasses and a few bottles of wine. We need to celebrate."
