A New Journey.

It's been several months since the Fall of Beacon, and the world of Remnant is still recovering. Tensions are high, lives have been lost, and the members of our Teams... are divided. Each of our heroines now faces a journey of their own. A journey that will change their lives forever... But will it be for the better, or for the worse?

A pair of booted feet and a red cloak that's frayed along the edges. A red-hooded figure walks on a road between trees and grass. From above, tree branches frame her as she moves forward. The silver broach on the lower front corner of the hood is barely visible until a profile angle shows the detailed emblem of Ruby, her hair and face partially obscured by the hood.

She moves to the edge of a rock precipice. Within view far below is a settlement of buildings that are burning, three large pillars of smoke rising into the air. Beyond the village are mountains, and above it all the broken moon shines fully.

Screams can be heard coming from the village, even from where Ruby stands.

In the village two people run down a cobbled road as a building next to them crumbles. A wide shot shows three people running between burning buildings and two Beowolves chasing after them.

Ruby's eyes shift, taking in the village, before narrowing with determination. She looks up at the sound of a Nevermore's cry.

Two Nevermores fly over Ruby, heading toward the besieged village. Ruby turns around on the rocky precipice, her left arm raising Crescent Rose. It expands itself upward. She releases her grip on a lever in the handle and the blade from the bottom of the shaft extends out as the scythe in the main body of the weapon fully unfolds.

Ruby leaps straight up into the air by several feet, leaving a column of falling rose petals. She turns as she descends and brings Crescent Rose down so that the scythe hooks into another Nevermore passing just beneath her. The Nevermore cries out, but continues it's path toward the village, leaving rose petals in its wake.

Grimm in the village move about, a Beowolf raising its head up to the sky and growling. Black smoke unfurls from around its head as it turns to watch the flight path of Ruby and the Nevermore.

Ruby watches for the right moment, and then pulls the trigger on Crescent Rose. The Nevermore screams as its wing is cut off. Ruby descends toward the village while the bisected Nevermore drifts apart. She lands on a statue of a hooded woman, demolishing it.

Ruby's hood falls back as she straightens. Eyes closed, she holds still where the statue once stood. A Beowolf approaches her while she is focused inwardly. It licks its teeth and moves closer, attracting the attention of other Beowolves. They all move to surround her, their red eyes leaving glowing trails. Ruby remains posed, Crescent Rose in her left hand.

Abruptly, Ruby's eyes narrow and there's a beat before they open, a dangerous look in them. Her head moves forward and she crouches. Her cloaks arches upward toward her body and Ruby transforms into a swirl of rose petals. The swirl propels itself forward through the air. As it reaches the first Beowolf she lands on her feet as she knocks it away. She bounds up again, taking out a second and turns to take out a third. Moving into the circle of beowolves behind her she slashes at them, taking out a total of eight before running to attack the ninth. As it goes down, two more put themselves in front of Ruby. The one in the foreground roars at her, but she is unfazed. As it leaps on her, she takes out it, the other one to its left, and yet two more who approach her from behind in different directions.

When that one is gone, Ruby turns and is hit in the face with stoneworks, which sends her backward. She looks up and dodges out of the way as a Beowolf on the roof hurls pieces of broken buildings at her.

Ruby moves swiftly between three different spots on the ground. She then propels herself into the air toward the Beowolf in rose petal form. She splits into three streams around it until coming together just above its head. She aims Crescent Rose and fires a Dust round into it.

The recoil sends her up into the sky, where she bounces off a Nevermore and lands in the middle of the village with enough force to damage the cobblestone road and send up a cloud of dirt. She can hear heavy footsteps and looks around, but doesn't see anything through the cloud. A black fist punches through the cloud and into Ruby, sending her flying into the wooden door of the church she originally landed next to.

Ruby stand, holding her shoulder, and looks up with frightened cry as she catches sight of what hit her. A Beringel postures, beating its chest before roaring and charging forward toward Ruby. But before it could get close enough, a mysterious figure falls from the sky, holding a sword in her hand. The Gorilla looking Grimm barely had time to move back, as the sword leaves a gash on it's chest, making it growl in annoyance.

Ruby saw who it was and smiled "Glad you could make it, Lucina".

Lucina stands up, revealing her hair had grown out a little bit after she cut when they began their new journey "Sorry for the delay. Traphic was horrible".

Ruby giggled "Better late than never".

"Take a breather, Ruby. I'll handle this. Can't let you have all the fun" Lucina said giving Ruby a confident smile.

Ruby smirked "As you wish. He's all yours".

Lucina smirked back before focusing on the Beringel, which was charging right at her. The Gorilla Grimm tries to punch Lucina, but she dodges and slashes it three times before she dodges under a swipe from it's arm and deliver a fourth slash. The Beringel then moves forward before rapidly striking at Lucina who dodged each blow before landing a blow on her chest, sending her back to a wall. Lucina recovers quickly before dodging another blow from the Beringel fist, She sliced at it's arm before delivering a backflip kick to it's jaw, staggering it. Lucina then tries to attack it again, but the Beringel grabs her blade and throws her aside. Lucina lands on her feet, before looking up to see the Beringel running at her, she leaps over it and slashes it down the back, making it roar.

Some Beowolves were going to join the fight. But were gunned down by Ruby's sniper, she was going to allow Lucina to handle the Beringel on her own, but she wasn't going to let some Beowolves sucker punch her.

Lucina dodged the Beringel's attempt to crush her with it's large arms before cutting it's side. She leans back to avoid a back hand from the Beringel, before cutting it's arm. It roars and and throws anther punch, which Lucina blocked with the flat side of her sword. She was sent sliding back from the force of the blow, but was unharmed. She looked up as the Beringel leaps at her. She dodged it's attack, but the Beringel managed to grab her and throws her in to the wall of the the church. She uses her sword to stick to it and looks down to see the Beringel climbing towards her. Lucina reached in to her pocket and pulled out some dust crystals. As the Beringel got closer, Lucina threw mix of fire and lightning dust in to it's face, causing it to roar in pain and surprise.

Lucina leaps down, slamming bother her feet in to the Beringel's face, causing both to fall. The Beringel lands on the ground hard, and Lucina soon landed on it's face before jumping of. The Gorilla grimm was getting enraged, and ripped parts of the ground up before throwing them at Lucina. She dodged one and cut the other in half, before the Beringel took advantage of her being distracted by the projectiles to deliver a hard blow to Lucina's face sending her flying back. She backflips and lands on her feet as she slides to a halt. She stands up as the Beringel rushed her again.

She waits for it to get close, and right before it's about to crush her, she leaps high in to the air. Lucina raises her sword in the air, which began glowing as she infused it with her semblance. She let's out a battle cry as she comes back down, delivering an overheard slash. A second passed, before the Beringel split in half from head to groin. It was finally dead.

Ruby walked up next to Lucina "Not bad. But I think I could've finished it in a cooler way".

"Maybe, but I prefer effective over cool" Lucina said.

"Hey! I can be both cool and effective" Ruby playfully argued before she reaches behind her for her Scroll.

It slides open in her hand with two motions instead of the customary single one. Across the top it reads: BROADCASTING/RECEIVING. In the middle are profile pictures of Jaune, Nora, and Ren. Across the bottom it reads: LOCAL AREA ONLY.

Below each profile image is an icon of a circle containing the side view of an old technology handheld phone with ear and mouth piece and three rows of signal coming out of it. Jaune's is lit up along with the border of his profile.

"Ruby! Is Lucina with you? We saw smoke!" He said

Ren's icon and profile light up next "Heading your way".

The light moves to Nora's icon and profile "Don't start without us!".

Ruby looks up from her Scroll "You better hurry".

In front of Ruby and Lucina five Beowolves crawl and three Nevermores fly toward them. The grimm attack was far from being stopped. Luckily both girls were more than capable of handling many more grimm.

"What do you say, Lucina, my dear friend? Whoever takes out the most wins?" Ruby asked, issuing a clear challenge.

Lucina smirked, accepting her challenge "Don't get upset when you lose... Again".

"Not this time! I will not lose a 5th time!" Ruby declares as she puts Crescent Rose at the ready and runs toward the Grimm.

Lucina smiled and did the same. Ruby had trouble understanding how Lucina, someone with no range attacks, constantly beats her at who can kill the most grimm. And she's been trying to even the score for a while now... And so far, she is yet to win even once.

Meanwhile in other parts of the world. Their teammates were dealing with their own problems. Weiss looks at the moon through a window over her shoulder, before lowering her head to gaze down at the floor. Bernadetta was once again hiding in her room... a room she never wanted to go back to, she looks out the window, as if silently hoping someone would be there... someone who could free her from this prison. Elsewhere Blake stares at the setting sun, standing on the edge of a dock on a large body of water, and not far away from her, another cat faunus was watching her. Blake turns and looks over her shoulder, but saw no one. Yang sits on a stump outside her home on Patch, looking at her left hand before lifting her head to gaze straight on. And Severa was standing outside her home, holding her sword... with her missing eye covered by an eye-patch... she looked miserable.

The End of their lives at Beacon... was the beginning of a new harder life.
