I stood there transfixed, trying to reconstruct what had just happened.
Harper had been here to see if I was alright.
I'd given her a hard time, as usual.
She was never at a loss for words, had often told me what she thought, but never like that.
I had never seen such anger in her eyes and it was really scary.
I didn't know that she suffered so much but I had never thought about it.
I never thought about other people's feelings anyway.
She had been right, I hadn't talked to anyone about it. But she wasn't right about everything, I didn't want to kill myself, not anymore.
I had written the reason for that on a note that was safely stored in my potions book. No one was supposed to know it, especially not her.
And I also tried to suppress it as best I could.
I picked up the silver necklace from the cold floor and let it slip through my fingers.
I touched the pendant with my fingers and as expected, nothing happened.
It was her pendant, and it only worked on her.
"Fuck!", I groaned out loud.
I had really tried to be nice to her but as expected I had failed, again.
I clenched my hand into a fist but quickly opened it again.
Luckily nothing had happened, the necklace was intact.
I destroy everything that comes close to me and Harper is far too close.
