Chapter 6:

Later that day, Hope is at the cabin reading when Liam comes in with Kelly. Hope looks up and smiles at both of them. "Hey," She says as she gives Liam a kiss and Kelly a kiss on the cheek, "How has your day been going?"

"Really good, we stopped and got breakfast at a café on the beach. Then built some sand castles, we went to the zoo and now we wanted to come see you."

Hope takes Kelly from Liam and gives her a playful little bounce, "Well I'm happy for the company."

Liam smiles at Hope, "You seem like your in a good mood."

Hope looks back at Liam, "I am, I had a fun day baking with Douglas and my mom while Thomas got Douglas registered for school," Hope hesitates a little, "I also made an appointment with Dr. Samuels, the therapist Thomas and Douglas have been seeing."

"That's great! When are we going?"

Hope's smile drops a little, "Tomorrow, but I made separate appointments for us." Liam stares at Hope confused. "I'm not saying we won't have an appointment together. I just think it's best if we do separate appointments first."

Liam feels a bit hurt but nods to Hope, "Ok, if that's what you think is best then I will give it a try." Hope forces a small smile at Liam.

Later at Steffy's...

Steffy is in the living room with Phoebe, Steffy is packing a diaper bag while Phoebe plays in her pack and play. Steffy read an e-mail from work and it didn't sound like they were able to handle it without her, so she was going to pack up Phoebe and go in for a few hours. Unfortunately Amelia had a family emergency and couldn't come watch Phoebe, so Steffy figured everyone would love to meet her little cutie, even though she would have preferred not taking her in just yet since she is not fully vaccinated, even though the pediatrician said it would be fine Steffy was still hesitant. There is a knock at the door, Steffy answers to the pleasant surprise of Thomas and Douglas.

"Aunt Steffy! Daddy and I brought you some cookies that I baked with Grandma Brooke and Hope!" Douglas say not being able to contain his excitement and pride in his achievement.

"Thank you!" Steffy says smiling as she takes the cookies as Thomas and Douglas come in, "I think Kelly and Phoebe might be a little young for these, but I know I'll enjoy them."

"Sorry we didn't give you a heads up that we were coming. Douglas was just so excited I forgot to text you." Thomas says.

"It's fine, I'm always happy to see you guys. I was just about to go into the office to take care of something, I was just packing a diaper bag."

"I thought you weren't going to take Phoebe in just yet?" Thomas inquires.

"I wasn't, but Amelia had a family emergency so I figured I would." Thomas can tell Steffy doesn't want to take Phoebe just yet since she has not had all her vaccinations.

"Hey I know you wanted to wait until she was fully vaccinated, Douglas and I have no plans right now. Do you want us to stay with her?"

Steffy smiles, thinking how lucky she is to have such a wonderful family and support system. Even after everything Thomas has been through he is still willing to help her out. "That would be amazing. Thank you so much, you are so sweet."

"We're staying at Aunt Steffy's for a while?" Douglas excitingly asks.

"Yeah bud, we're going to watch Phoebe. Although I think I'm going to need a lot of your help." Thomas sweetly smiles at Douglas.

"I got this." Douglas confidently says.

Steffy smiles down at her nephew, "And when I'm done at the office I can pick up a pizza for dinner and we can have chocolate chip cookies for dessert."

Steffy grabs her brief case and looks back up at Thomas, "Text me what you guys want on your pizza." Steffy says as she gives Phoebe and Douglas a kiss on the cheek, "I'll be back in a few hours."

As Steffy is driving her car to Forrester she can't help but think about how lucky she is to have two beautiful healthy daughters, a wonderful family, great friends, her dream job. Then she thinks about how much her heart hurts for Thomas, Douglas, Hope, and Liam. As Steffy pulls to a stop at a red light, there is a sudden jolt from behind and a loud crash as she feels herself being propelled forward she realizes she was hit from behind. Her car gets pushed into the intersection and is hit again on the driver side from a SUV going through their green light. After Steffy is hit she can feel herself losing consciousness as she hears sirens in the distance.
