Ms. Kelsey wasn't happy when she arrived the second her appointment with Deanna started. She hadn't even had time to use the bathroom, so Deanna allowed her to use it before they started talking. Deanna politely asked what had occurred the last week. As again, she'd been off on leave the previous week. Ms. Kelsey explained once more how infuriating her family was.

They'd blown everything out of proportion for her setting a boundary regarding her twin. She recounted some more times when her family had mistreated her. And also how her family still did nothing to help her either. She also kindly explained to Deanna when she suggested joining a group why that was a bad idea. Ms. Kelsey patiently explained that every group she'd ever partook in left her alone and ostracized.

She also explained that while some people didn't like her being blunt, Ms. Kelsey felt sugarcoating things only delayed solving the problem. The thirty-five-year-old much rather get straight to the point then beat around the bush. She also pointed out that sugarcoating or other unnecessary drama made the simple things ten times more complicated. Again, she pointed out how she'd been removed from a classroom as a teen for simply pointing out that prom was an overrated dance that people spent too much money on.

Again, it was like weddings and births. People made bigger deals then needed over parts that didn't matter instead of focusing on what was important. Furthermore, while your wedding should be memorable, you should save money on something other than the event or the dress. Seeing how the wedding day is the fantasy and it's your actual marriage that matters. More to the point, all that money you wasted on a dress you'll only get to wear once could be spent buying a house or something practical for your marriage.

Also, it didn't matter how a baby was born as long as they were healthy. Furthermore, people needed to stop being obsessed that a child had to have their DNA. What was important was having a child to love. Family is about love, not blood. She then mentioned again how she'd been bullied for years for stating such opinions and others. Or how people thought she was making excuses or being a pessimist and throwing herself a pity party.

Ms. Kelsey again explained she was just being honest. It might be hard for others to imagine a life they've not lived. But just because something sounds outrageous doesn't make it any less true. Also, it is mentally draining to read comments online because of how much negativity is associated with them. She pointed out people should consider themselves lucky they didn't have to deal with loony others did in these stories that they were determined to say must be fake.

Ms. Kelsey never appreciated anyone invalidating anyone. Again, just because you've not lived it yourself doesn't make it any less true. She also admitted that she couldn't stand kids since she had no patience. ParMainlyen small children acted out in public; it was hard to stay in control. Deanna admitted children can be quite frustrating to deal with. Likewise, society needed to stop thinking everyone has to get married and have children.

They discussed a few more subjects and looked at two sketchbooks before scheduling her next appointment. She thanked Troi and headed back to her quarters for lunch.
