Yeah I know it's been a while but if you read the announcements at the end then you'll understand. I have a lot to say and I do mean a lot. Always remember that I do not own MHA or Digimon and all credit for those goes to the original releases.

Chapter 16: Fame and Opportunity

Izuku was on the train wearing his school uniform a mix of excitement and worry. After the Sports Festival, his mom had practically cooked up a feast, not just for the two of them. It wasn't just one man's victory after all. Before he had gone to bed, everyone talked about the celebration they had planned a week before and decided that it was best to hold off on it. Without Iida, it wouldn't have been worth it. The reason he was worried oddly enough wasn't that he was going to a girl's house but rather because of Iida. News had gotten out that a villain called The Hero Killer had attacked and most likely crippled the hero Ingenium, Iida's older brother. That's why Izuku worried. He wanted to celebrate with all his friends and without Iida, he felt like there might be a vacuum and he wasn't alone in that.

He was then snapped out of his thoughts when he felt something tug on his pants. When he looked down he was very confused at what he saw. A small girl who couldn't be older than nine had short brown hair and wore a pale yellow sleeves shirt, a pale pink neckerchief, and hot-pink pants.

When she spoke her voice was gentle and polite. "Excuse me, sir."

Izuku was still confused but he was worried for the girl since he didn't see anyone who could be her parent. "Uh, yeah? What do you need?"

The girl gave him this almost blank look while asking her question. "Are you that guy from TV yesterday?"

Izuku wasn't expecting that. The Sports Festival was a live broadcast so this should have been expected. "Uh, yeah. I'm Izuku Midoriya." He gave the best smile he could though he couldn't exactly hide how nervous he was.

The girl then smiled gently. "You were really cool and all your friends did amazing."

Izuku was shocked to hear that. Not the compliment toward him but that a stranger called the Knights his friends. No one has ever done that. "Th-hanks we-"

"Kari!" A more masculine voice called out.

Both the girl and Izuku turned to the voice and saw a boy with spiky brown hair. He wore a pair of goggles on a blue headband, a blue T-shirt over another yellow shirt, brown cargo shorts, a black armband on his left arm, and white gloves.

Kari smiled again then gestured to Izuku. "Tai, look."

Tai then turned to Izuku and realization spread across his face. "Wait, you're the guy from the Sports Festival!"

That statement immediately drew eyes.

Tai then continued excitedly. "Your quirk is super cool! I honestly thought you were gonna win."

That's when a stranger spoke up. "Hey, you're Izuku Midoriya! Those Royal Knights were absolute monsters."

Another stranger then came up. "Yeah! With them, I bet you're gonna be an awesome hero. My favorite was Omegamon."

"He did make it to the top three."

"I rooted for you! Magnamon at the end was so cool!"

Swarms of compliments continued to be sent Izuku's way and while it did make him feel good it was something that made him nervous. That's the reason he was so thankful to finally leave the train. He really appreciated it and knew he wasn't the only one who got a confidence boost. Still, though the dermis of the rain didn't give way to much positivity.

Izuku walked through said rain umbrella in hand. He then reached for his pocket. Turning it on he gave a smile. "So, Guilmon, Veemon, you two excited for your first day on security?"

Veemon was the first to answer since he was excited. "Heck yeah, I am! Now I don't have to sit there in your phone for the rest of the day."

Guilmon followed with a nervous smile. "Hehe yeah. It should be fun." Remembering the trouble setting up their little speech at the Sports Festival filled him with a level of dread. Dorumon wasn't the best with technology and Omegamon was still half Agumon. He only hoped that Veemon would balance things out.

Izuku smiled back. "That's great to hear. Hey also-"

Before he could finish his thought rapid footsteps against the wet ground were heard. "Good morning, Midoriya!"

Izuku stopped walking and turned to the voice and his immediate reaction was surprise. "Whoa, Iida? You really went all out with the rain gear."

Iida was running through the rain in a big green raincoat and boots. "Why on earth are you walking so slowly?" Passing his classmate without a second thought. "You'll be late" Something that would be unbecoming of their class representative.

Izuku was now running after him confused. "Late? But there's still five minutes until the first bell."

Iida didn't slow down a bit. "UA students should always arrive ten minutes early, don't you think?"

Izuku couldn't really think of a response it was just Iiida's usual self, but that only made him worry all the more.

When the two arrived inside and began to prepare themselves to head to class Izuku couldn't help but worry for his friend. "Hey, Iida, so-"

Once more his thought was cut off by Iida. "If it's about my brother, don't be concerned. I'm sorry if I made you worry. Everything will be fine. And we may be able to still plan for that celebration." Iida gave Izuku a smile and then continued.

That didn't ease Izuku's worry. Something he knew was that people in pain tend to hide it the most. Veemon did it, Guilmon did it, and now Iida may be doing the same. Prying relentlessly won't do any good though. He had to be a little patient.

Arriving to the classroom the topic of conversation that circulated was of course the results of the festival.

Ashido was one of the first to bring it up. "It's so weird that people recognize us from TV. Everyone wanted to talk to me on the way here."

Kirishima then pointed at himself with a smile. "Yeah, me, too!"

Hagakure seemingly raised a hand to her chest. "People on the street were staring at me! It was kind of embarrassing."

Ojiro then pointed out the obvious. "Sure, but isn't that pretty normal for you?"

Hagakure turned to him with a response. "Well, I mean, yeah but it was different this time!"

Ojiro sweat dropped. "Oh, ok"

Sero then came looking exasperated. "You won't what a bunch of elementary school brats yelled at me."

Asui then gave a blunt answer. "Nice try"?"

Sero clutched his head groaning. Izuku made his way to his seat talking with Yaoyorozu. "Man, it really is crazy how much just one festival did."

Yaoyorozu nodded. "Yes, I imagine many people wanted to talk with you too."

Izuku scratched the back of his head. "Uh, yeah. What about you?"

Yaoyorozu answered the question simply. "While my parents and the servants complimented me I'm not sure if strangers recognize me."

Izuku was then immediately able to guess that she probably didn't take the train.

The door then slid open to reveal Aizawa. "Morning."

Suddenly all the students were sat down greeting him in return.

As the teacher walked to the podium Asui made an observation. "Ribbit? Mr. Aizawa, you don't have bandages anymore. That's good news."

Aizawa scratched the skin underneath his left eye remembering his recovery. "The old lady went a little overboard in her treatment. Anyway. We have a big class today on Hero Informatics."

That killed many students' moods replacing it with dead fear. What could it be? A surprise exam? A discussion on hero law?

To put their spots to rest Aizawa spoke of what was so important. "You need codenames. Time to pick your hero identities."

That was something that not only made the students happy but it got them to cheer. They then immediately became proper again though after receiving a stern glare from their teacher.

The said teacher then began to explain. "This is related to the pro hero draft picks that I mentioned last time we were in class together. Normally students don't have to worry about the draft yet. Not until their second or third year actually. But your class is different. In fact, by including offers to you first-years like you, pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if your interest in you dies down before graduating, though."

Mineta reacted to that by giving his desk a small smack and mumbling. "Stupid, selfish adults."

Hagakure then spoke to see if she could understand. "So we still have to prove ourselves after we've gotten recruited."

Aizawa then confirmed. "Now, here are the totals for those of you who got offers." With a remote, a projection appeared on the board showing a list of those with the names in the order of how many offers they got.

First was Todoroki with 3876, next Bakugo with 3556, Izuku with 1897, Tokoyami with 360, and so on.

Aizawa then pointed out the disparity. "In past years, it's been more spread out. But there's a pretty big gap this time."

Kaminari threw his head back at seeing that he wasn't on the list. "Gah! That's no fair."

Jirou was just confused though. "Todoroki is ahead of Bakugo and Midoriya? How did that happen?"

Kirishima responded to that. "Yeah, it hardly makes any sense."

Sero then gave a possible reason. "They probably weren't excited about working with the guy who had to be chained up at the end."

Bakugo then quickly interjected. "If I scared a pro, they're just weak!"

Aizawa then explained. "Midoriya actually has the opposite problem to most of you." This easily confused most of the class. "Pros think he has too much potential and a sidekick outshining the hero is bad for business. This means that agencies that extended offers to him can either afford the risk or are ignorant to it."

Yaoyorozu sighed and turned to Todoroki. "That's amazing. The two of you must be proud."

Todoroki clearly wasn't. "These offers are probably because of my father."

Uraraka was excitedly shaking Iida with tears in her eyes. "People want us!"

Mineta then looked to Izuku who seemed deep in thought. "Midoriya? You ok?"

Izuku was actually very distraught. The way he was treated because of his quirk extended all the way to the hero world. "They're scared to take me..." It wasn't something that looked good.

Aizawa then continued. "Despite these results, you'll all be interning with pros. Got it? Even those of you who didn't get any offers."

That got Kaminari to perk up. "Really? We all get to intern?" It wasn't ideal but he'll take it.

Aizawa then answered and explained. "Yes. You already got to experience combat with real villains during the attack on the USJ facility. But it'll be helpful to see pros at work. Up close and personal, in the field. Firsthand."

It was all coming together and Sato pointed it out. "And for that, we need hero names!"

Uraraka managed to exceed his excitement. "Things are suddenly getting a lot more fun!"

Aizawa continued. "These hero names will likely be temporary, but take them seriously or..."

Finishing his thought the door slid open with a woman's voice following after. "you'll have hell to pay later!"

Some boys were excited by the sight as the Midnight strutted into class. "What you pick today could be your codename for life. You better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."

Aizawa then agreed. "She's got a good point. Midnight is going to have final approval over your names. It's not my forte." He remembered when he picked his codename which he technically didn't pick it. Present Mic did. "The name you give yourself is important. It helps reinforce your image and shows what kind of hero you wanna be in the future. A codename tells people exactly what you represent. Take "All Might" for example.

Small boards were then passed along through the class so the students could start coming up with their names.

When Izuku took his he began thinking back to when he didn't know what his quirk would be and the names he wanted. Looking back none of them really apply.

After a while presentations started. Some were odd, others nice, and some were just on the nose. Izuku did take note of some of the ones he heard. He thought Yaoyorozu being called Creati was cute for a moment but he focused on anything else to avoid that thought.

That's when Todoroki came up next. Presenting his board and name. "Nova."

Midnight looked a little confused. "Like when a new star is born? Well alright."

To Todoroki the name was more important than that. A light in the darkness birthed a new—a new beginning to light the path forward.

Izuku found the name interesting. It was graceful in its own way. While thinking about his own name he'd keep listening to Tokoyami's name Tsukuyomi and Uraraka's Uravity. There was also Bakugo's attempt with his King Explosion Murder... that didn't go over well. Iida then came after simply naming himself Tenya. Izuku thought that was strange. It was clear to him that maybe he wasn't as ok as he said.

Still, after all that Izuku couldn't get a super solid idea, then he felt his phone vibrate. A lot. He knew it wasn't a good idea to take it out now and Impmon should know that he shouldn't do this so what if it was an emergency? Izuku sneakily pulled out his phone and whispered. "What?"

Impmon then appeared on the screen smug and a text box appeared saying "We knew this was gonna come at some point so all of us were brainstorming a name and I think we got a pretty solid one".

Izuku's eyes widened and he also really wanted to facepalm. Why didn't he ask his friends about stuff like that? Still, now he had something ready. It wasn't one he felt he deserved but they picked it. He couldn't bring himself to say no. So, when he was asked if was ready he came up to the podium. Placing his board down. A part of him wanted to reject it and say he wasn't worthy of a name like that, but another part told him it was right, that this is who he is. "The Data Hero: King."

Midnight clapped with a smile. "I get it! With your quirk, that name definitely fits your M.O.. That and what maiden wouldn't want to be saved by a king?"

Izuku gave a nervous smile. "R-right. Thank you."

After that Bakugo tried again but he was rejected a second time. Then the students were all given lists to choose which internships to go to. While for some it was easy others struggled to make a decision.

Of course, one such person was Izuku he looked through his list remembering what Aizawa had said. Many of those on the list were smaller agencies that had good heroes but new resources. On the other hand, there were a few that were much higher ranking. A part of Izuku wished he could just go to all of them. But he couldn't so he'd have to analyze each and every one as thoroughly as he could.

Yaoyorozu approached Izuku curiously. "Do you have an idea of who you wish to intern with?"

That snapped Izuku out of his thought process. He then turned to her. "Well, I'm not sure yet. What about you?"

Yaoyorozu then appeared nervous. "Well, I was thinking of interning with Uwabami."

Izuku was confused by that. "Uwabami? She has a lot of side jobs. I didn't think she'd have time for an intern. Why would you pick her?"

Yaoyorozu's face then spoke an air of determination despite staying in its usual refined self. "She was the only hero to send me an offer, so she must have seen a glimmer of potential in me. So I must see what she has to teach me."

Izuku was surprised to hear that. He then gave Yaoyorozu a smile. "I see, then I guess it could work out."

Uraraka then came up to the two. "Hey, do you two know who you're gonna intern with?"

The two turned to her and Izuku answered while scratching the back of his head. "Well, I don't. You?"

Uraraka then smiled excitedly. "I'm gonna intern with Battle Hero: Gunhead."

That visibly confused Izuku. "Huh? But Gunhead's a big brawler. Are you sure that's where you wanna intern?"

Uraraka punched the air with her confirmation. "Yep! He set me an offer."

Yaoyorozu then commented. "Yes, but I thought you wanted to be a rescue hero."

Uraraka pulled her hand back and explained. "Ultimately that's the plan. But I've been thinking ever since the festival- Well, at least since I faced off against Bakugo." She planted a foot and punched the air again. "The stronger I am, the more possibilities I'll have. Plus, learning from a battle hero will give me a different perspective. Right?"

That aggravated one-person listening who really didn't want to focus on something else.

Izuku nodded. "I see. It's not just to learn but broaden your horizons."

Tokoyami agreed as he approached. "Yes, to be better at as much as you can allows you to save more souls in times to come."

The three students turned to him Uraraka a little weirded out by his wording.

Izuku tried to brush it off. "So who are you thinking of interning with?"

Tokoyami seemed to hesitate. It was hard to tell given his usually stoic expression." Hawks."

Surprise filled the other students. It was enough shock they struggled to speak.

Tokoyami then continued. "I am honored to have been sent and to accept his offer."

Izuku then gulped. "I don't think even I got an offer from a hero that high ranking."

Uraraka and Yaoyorozu were confused by that comment. They then took a look at Izuku's list their eyes widening. It was just like what Aizawa said. His list was filled with lots of smaller heroes, but a few high-ranking ones would most definitely make him look good.

Yaoyorozu then realized. "So this is why you haven't picked someone."

Uraraka nodded in agreement.

Izuku then nodded a little embarrassed. "Yeah. I want to pick someone who can help me not just get stronger but also teach me how to be a better leader."

Uraraka nodded. "That makes sense you are like six heroes rolled into one."

Izuku almost wanted to refute that but it was true. Still, a part of him was bothered that the number was six, not seven. That's when he remembered something. He looked at the clock got up and took a paper out of his book bag.

This confused the others.

Yaoyorozu asked first. "Where are you going?"

Izuku then turned to them. "The Support Course." With that flat answer, he made his way out.

The class just looked at the door as Izuku just left.

Sato then commented. "Did the class rep just leave the class?"

Izuku walked down the halls looking down at the papers he has just taken. This was kinda last minute but it was super important. He then arrived at the metal door to the support department's room and came up to it. Before he could knock though the door opened on its own and he was met with a cloud of smoke. He reflexively coughed and tried moving the smoke away with his hand. Within it all, he could hear scolding.

When the smoke cleared he could see what was actually happening. There was a man who had no shirt some with really big hands with fingertips that looked like orange Ls, and he wore the end of an excavation claw on his head. Izuku recognized him as the Pro Hero, Powerloader and he was currently telling off Hatsume who was currently covered in smoke and dust. "I swear you keep doing this on purpose! Why did you do that?"

Hatsume gave an almost flat answer with her big smile. "I thought I could maximize power output. Guess I underestimated how much power there was."

Even though his face was obscured Powerloader looked like he was about to snap. That was until he noticed Izuku. "Huh? You're Izuku Midoriya. What are you doi-"

Hatsume cut in seeming excited. "Hey, you're that guy with the super visor!" She then dashed toward him excitedly. "Say, do you still have that beautiful piece of tech on you?"

Izuku reflexively took a step back from the sudden approach and then put a hand separating their faces while looking away. "I came here to request an upgrade for my hero outfit."

That's when Hatsume noticed and yoinked it looking it over as fast as she could. "Really? Let's have a look. Watch I can make a baby like this work in no ti-"

That's when the paper was then swiped by Powerloader who started to notice just how willing Izuku was to hit a girl. "You forget Hatsume that depending on the scope of the change this needs to be shown to Midoriya's support company providers." He then began to read the paper for himself.

Izuku watched as the support teacher read his ideas while keeping his excited student away. He was hopeful though since at least that Powerloader could help him with this. That's when he started to hear the sound of crinkling paper and he saw the pro hero shake. This was worrying to Izuku. "Uh, s-sir?"

That's when the teacher quickly turned seeming distraught. "Why did you join the hero course?!"

This was of course extremely confusing and shocking and Izuku found himself at a loss for words.

Powerloader then continued while walking up to the student. "If you had joined here you would have been a master of programming with the most intelligent and complex support gear imaginable. It would have been beautiful."

Izuku was still very surprised by it all. He just wanted an upgrade not what sounded like a plead. "T-thank you, sir. That's nice but can yo-"

Powerloader then turned away almost dejected. "Yeah, I'll get through for you before you go off to your internship. Just, just go."

Izuku did just that. "Uh, thank you then. It really means a lot. B-bye." With that, he left.

Hatsume then looked at her teacher. "Can I read it now?"

Powerloader then looked up aggravated by the question. "I am in mourning Hatsume!"

Izuku kept walking down the halls entering his classroom and noticed something immediately. Several of his classmates were gathered around his desk. This included Asui, Tokoyami, Ashido, Ojiro, Uraraka, and at the center Yaoyorozu. Ojiro was the first to notci Izuku and after quickly telling the others they all turned to great him. "Uhm, what are you all doing?"

Ashido then revealed it all. "Well, you see you kind of left your list unprotected so we took a little peak at the big names."

Ojiro then tried to save this. "Don't make it sound so malicious. We also tried seeing which heroes you would be interested in. Uh, though that was Yaoyorozu's idea."

Izuku was surprised to hear that and turned to her. "You didn't have to do that."

Yaoyorozu shook her head grabbing his list. "You helped me grow and I find myself needing to repay you. You did say you wanted someone who could help you be a leader, yes?" She then showed him who they chose. "Well, what about him."

Izuku looked at the name and his eyes widened in realization as he took back the list. "He's a perfect pick. Thank you guys and thank you Yaoyorozu."

Tokoyami nodded. "Of course. It is our duty as your friends to aid you as you've aided us."

Asui nodded in agreement understanding.

Uraraka nodded too not sure if she understood.

Ojiro gave a thumbs up and a smile. "It's no problem. You may be class rep but we gotta do our part too.

Ashido bounced with a nod. "Yeah, and on top of that it was fun to go through the list."

Yaoyorozu had a big smile with a light blush infecting her cheeks. "You're welcome Midoriya."

Now Izuku felt all the more ready for what was to come. Izuku almost couldn't wait to see how this internship would go.

*Two days later...*

Today was the day! Wow, it really couldn't wait. The students had been gathered at the train station with their uniforms, luggage, and the most important part.

The part Aizawa would make sure no one would leave behind. "Everyone has their costumes, right? Remember, you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet, and don't lose them or anything."

Ashido responded by lifting the briefcase with her hero outfit over her head. "Gotcha!"

Of course, Aizawa reprimanded her. "Speak properly! It's "Yes, sir!" Ashido."

Ashido then brought down the case her excitement shot down. "Yes sir."

Aizawa then continued to instruct them but what he said sounded more like what a parent would tell their child. "Make sure you mind your manners with the other heroes during your internships. Now get to it."

The class didn't register that and spoke properly. "Yes, sir!"

Iida was now ready to leave his expression blank his mind on one task. One purpose.

That was until Izuku's voice came from behind. "Iida, wait!"

Iida stopped but he didn't turn around to face Izuku almost like a part of him thought he didn't deserve to.

Izuku now had Iida's attention and this was important. "Do you hate him?"

Iida was surprised to hear that. The question wasn't asking if he was ok, it came to the root of the problem.

Izuku then continued. "Iida, I don't know what you're thinking but please don't let that hate consume you. You're better than that, Iida."

Those words continued to pierce through the fog of his violent emotions. A part of him wanted to fall to his knees and vent it all out but he felt chained. The image of his brother burnt into his mind igniting his anger. "Thank you Midoriya. You're a true friend." His voice was flat not letting any of his emotion pour out. With that, he walks away.

Izuku wanted to stop him again to help his friend but he could see it. It wasn't about how much Izuku wanted to help it was that Iida didn't want his help. Why that was only ate away at him even when he boarded his train.

Now the students would see what the world of the heroes is like but even with that, the future would bring forth a night stained by blood and illuminated by sinister light.

I'm back! and instead of giving you some excuse, I'll tell you what has distracted me for so long. Elden Ring and Digimon Survive. They are very engaging. On top of that, there is art now! You can find a post unveiling the covers of chapters 0 and 1 on Instagram from donutmaster2000. Another announcement. If you did not see it last I will be making a collection of side stories that will run along this one and I'd like to hear what you guys would like to see. There are no bad ideas. now for what you've all been truly waiting for, the questions!

This first one is from CrimsonDragoon35.
"out of the 13 Royal Knights, my absolute favourite, is the main mon, Alphamon, but I would just like to know, being a big Digimon fan, I know that Alphamon can, go further with the help of a certain Digimon, will he ascend to his final form?" - Well CD35 that's a rather revealing question and what I'll say is that this form will not go unaddressed.

Next is Zero-Alpha00.
"Question do you plan to use the X-antibody?" - I won't lie, the idea has crossed my mind many a time. Now I'm curious. If any of you were to use the X-antibody how would you like it to be introduced?

Not a question but I would like to address 06.
"hello i loved the story so far and id like to sugest a line for gankoomon
mokumon-petimeramon-candlemon-meramon-deathmeramon-gankoomon
and for lordknightmon
using patamon's line until reaching holyangemon/magnangemon and from that to lordknightmon" - I would like to start by saying that Lordknightmon's line was long decided. In fact, the lines for all the knights kinda are. The reason I say kinda is that Gankoomon is the line I've changed the most. Knowing that one is the line people want to see makes the decision easier though so thank you.

Finally, we have two questions from the guest reviewer Ed.
"will eri quirk bring out the full power of izuku quirk?" - The biggest weakness of Izuku's quirk is energy consumption. Eri can stop that, so while she can't help him makes Knight she can help bring fourth an army.
"What are current power level of izuku knights (1 to 10)?" - That's a complicated question. What do the numbers compare to and who is a 1 and who is a 10? If it's comparing the Knights to each other then it would be like this. Alphamon(9.8), Omegamon(9.6), Gallanttmon(9.6), Magnamon(9.7), Wizardmon(5.4) If it's comparing them to people in the verse then the question becomes more complicated.

Now there's one last major thing I'd like to address. This story has hit 550 Follows with 500 Favorites. This makes my story the biggest MHA/Digimon fanfic on this website and that is incredible. Your endless support warms my heart and makes writing this feel all the more worth it. Thank you and I'll see to getting out the next chapter as soon as I can.
