New arc baby! Now I know you're all excited to see what I have planned and I'm here to provide. With a new hero to mentor Izuku, this calls for the first mayor original chapter! With that, there are also a few original ideas to make the arc just a little more entertaining for all of you. Also a pretty special announcement at the end. Always remember that I do not own Digimon or MHA and support for both goes to the original releases. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter 17: From the Sea to the Sky
Izuku was anxious. After getting on the train he had thought of Iida for a while but then his thoughts wandered to the fact that he was going to intern with one of the country's highest-ranked heroes. Still, he knew he had to do this, to become a better leader, the determination enough to bush back his anxiety. Until the fear of failing set in and it all came crashing down. This was going to be a long week.
When the train reached his stop, Izuku shot up with a mix of conviction and nervousness. He then made his way out making his way to the hero agency that had invited him. Walking through the town he wondered how things would go. Mainly he hoped that everyone, especially Impmon, would behave themselves. Finally, he had left town. Why? Simple to get on the boat. Izuku knew he'd be going far but this was a little much. Thankfully, his expenses were paid.
On the trip, his phone buzzed and when Izuku took it out Guilmon was the one on screen. "I don't think we've ever been this far from home before."
Izuku nodded. It was true, as sad as it sounded. Traveling off the mainland was always just too expensive to be an option, especially so when you consider his quirk's appetite. "Yeah, it's kinda exciting. I just hope things go well."
Dorumon then walked to Guilmon's side. "Try not to worry too much, Izuku. They may not go easy on us but I'm sure we can pull through."
Izuku gave a small smile at the reassurance looking off to the ocean, hopeful.
When the ship had stopped, at last, Izuku walked down seeing the surrounding areas. His eyes were filled with all manner of resorts and tourist spots. He knew there'd be some but he wasn't expecting this many. He would look around but he didn't want to lose any more time so he made his way past everything to reach his destination, the beach. He admired it for a moment before gulping down as many of his fears as he could. Mind you it was calming to walk on the sand and hear the crashing waves. He kept walking through the beach to the hero agency that was his true destination.
Unknown to Izuku something shifted in the waves as he stepped forward.
Within his phone Impmon seemed to be in thought about something until he let out a slightly aggravated sigh. "Ok, where are we?"
Veemon then turned to him confused by the question. "What do you mean?" He then realized and got a little annoyed "You were paying attention when Izuku explained the internship, right?"
Impmon just slowly looked away with a drop of sweat dripping from the side of his head. He then let out a little nervous chuckle.
Veemon facepalmed in response. "I swear. Impmon, the agency we're going to is in Oku-"
Suddenly the loud noise of the water's surface being breached rang out, accompanied by a vicious roar yelling out one word. "Intruder!"
Izuku quickly turned his whole body to look, losing some of his balance and stumbling back. His eyes widened and his mouth held agape as he saw the assailant.
The accusatory man was large, standing at around 7 feet tall. He wore a torn one-piece full-body swimsuit with sleeves that ended at his elbows and a pants part that ends just before his knees. His most defining characteristic though was the shark head staring down at Izuku. The head itself was straight, with his snout pointed forward, and his mouth was filled with a wide row of serrated teeth, while his head's upper half was grey the bottom of his snout and downward was white. Matching his head, his skin was grey and rough with his arm having a white underside. His limbs were large and muscular, hinting at his strength.
The shark man then spoke with a deep rumbling voice. "We are closed today! State your business intruder!"
Izuku's mind was focused entirely on something else. "Holy mackerel, You're Mackerel! A top-ranking sidekick in your agency yourquirkgivesyouattributesofasharkthatgivesyouenchancedstrength, gills, andsuperthickandroughskin! It's a huge honor to meet you I-" Izuku had defaulted to rambling but thankfully.
"Izuku, shut UP!" Guilmon was not above screaming from inside a pocket to interject.
The shark man apparently named Mackerel was a little stumped on how to proceed. Though he was able to keep yelling. "Too many words! Why are you here?!"
Izuku then straightened. "Ach, right, sorry. I'm here for my internship. It's an honor to meet you." He said with a bit of an awkward smile not wanting to make him apparently angry.
Mackerel looks down at Izuku with a serious expression. "So, you're the one. Boss told us you'd be coming, he'll be so happy to know you got here ok!" Suddenly his demeanor changed as a huge smile spread across his face.
Izuku was surprised to see all that hostility vanish. "Uh, mh, right!"
Mackerel's face then suddenly changes to one of realization and then again to one of slight fear. He puts a finger above his mouth and softly says. "Don't tell him I said that last part."
Izuku nodded with a more sincere smile, having seen how the sidekick can be rather passive as well. "Alright."
Mackerel's big smile then returned. "Thanks! Ok, now let's go, your training awaits, Fish Egg!"
Izuku nodded once more straightened and nodded. "Yes, sir!" Though his mind stayed on the strange nickname he was apparently given.
The two then walked together. Izuku then started to note things about the sidekick. He didn't seem the least bit hostile, more like a gentle giant who would approach most situations with care. It was reassuring to see after their initial encounter.
Finally, the two had reached their destination. It was a large rectangular building with two upside-down slops connected to its right side, another smaller rectangular building on its left side, and on the top was a dome that seemed mostly made of glass. There were two sets of stairs with one that led from the beach to the main area of the building and the other that led to the entrance. The second flight of stairs also had a roof to block out the sun and along some of the walls, there were small fish-based decorations on the walls revealing the nature of the building.
Mackerel then took a step onto the first stairs and looked at Izuku. "Are you ready?"
Izuku once more nodded having some of his fear died down
The two then got to the door and when Mackerel opened it the two were welcomed inside and it became immediately clear why this place was so popular. The light perfectly reflected off the tanks filled with water inside, the illumination revealing the colorful fish swimming within. Of all shapes and sizes, Izuku was left staring for a moment in amazement.
Mackerel smiled at the sight. "Welcome, to Okuto Aquarium! The pride of Okuto Island!"
Izuku responded as he took slow steps forward. "It's amazing."
Mackerel then retook the lead guiding Izuku through the aquarium, lagging as the two excitedly discussed the opening exhibits without having a lot of marine biology knowledge. Eventually, Mackerel would lead Izuku to a back door marked with an Employees Only sign. Entering the two could hear a collection of different noises and what sounded like people working. Walking down the hall Izuku would see several more doors along the wall and workers walking in and out of them. Many seemed like normal workers whole would keep the aquarium itself running while the others wore black skin-tight bodysuits that covered them entirely, including their faces and hands, which were decorated with thin white lines over their torsos, and various pieces of tan-colored armor pads. Their masks include six diamond-shaped eye holes, arranged in a somewhat circular dice pattern. These were what most of the sidekicks here wore with only the top five being exceptions.
Izuku looked at Mackerel noting that for as powerful as he was the man was at the bottom of those five.
The two arrived then to a door with the name of the room inside revealed by the sign. "High Chain Lounge".
Mackerel then opened the door and the two were met with a rather loud male voice. Whatever he was saying was a bit incoherent but it was something about Pinocchio?
As the two fully walked in Mackerel even side looking a bit tired of something. "Not again…."
Izuku could then finally see the full room. It was a nice area filled with a comfy-looking couch and three chairs. A low table was at the center of everything and on the other side of the room was another door leading somewhere. Izuku also saw the two people talking, including the loud one and they saw him.
Mackerel then put a hand on Izuku's back. "He's here! Our new Fish Egg!"
The two then gave Izuku a smile when they heard the nickname with the quieter getting up and walking up to Izuku. "So you're the one Boss hired? Well, it's nice to meet you."
When she got up Izuku could immediately tell who this was. She was a woman with a fit and small figure though she was a bit taller than Izuku. She wore a sailor's raincoat with a rain hat and underneath she wore a one-piece swimsuit similar to Mackerel but hers didn't have any tears. What was most notable were some physical feathers, though. Like her strong-looking jaw, her startlingly sharp teeth, her glossy eyes, and the veiny protrusion sticking out of her forehead with a light at the end of it.
That last thing was stopping Izuku from replying as the light was in his face. "Ah, uhhh."
The male voice then yelled out. "Angel, you're blinding the kid!"
The sidekick Angel then moved the light aside by flicking the protrusion back.
This allowed Izuku to see what was in front of him again and was able to note who he was talking to. This allowed him to also see the other sidekick who stayed sat down with his legs crossed on the table. Izuku saw that he was about the same height as Angel and wore a long-sleeved leather jacket with a popped-up collar. He had long shiny black pants and a pair of nice brown shoes with thick-looking soles. Most notable was his face, it was narrow and long, his skin was grey and scally, and his mouth was more like a snout. It was the face you'd see from a barracuda.
Seeing this Izuku then bowed to the two sidekicks. "It's an honor to you both. I promise to do my be-"
The man then chastised again. "Don't go on that whole "do my best" bit, Fish Egg! They always say that but forget that actions speak louder than words."
Izuku then straightened up a little surprised as the sidekick's tone spoke of clear experience. With that Izuku gave a determined face and nodded. "I'll do my best, Sir."
The man then groaned when he heard that. "Don't call me that. You make me sound old. Besides, you should know my name, right?"
Izuku then nodded with a smile. "Yeah, you're Gnash, one of the best scouts in the hero industry along with being one of the two best sidekicks here. "
Gnash then smiled smugly. "He does know what he's talking about! Well, then it's nice to have someone so well-studied."
Angel then shot him down. "You're just saying that because he's stroking you're ego."
Gnash then sat up to shoot back his response. "No! I just think the kid has potential!"
Angel then snickered with her mouth closed. "Sure you do."
The door leading deeper inside then suddenly opened and another man walked in wearing a black sleeveless shirt with two blue stripes running up its side, a pair of similarly colored pants, and swim shoes. More notable were physical features like his brown skin tone, his three pairs of arms, his glassy-looking eyes, and the black beak he had replacing a mouth. He also had blue wavy hair, almost like seaweed but the strange thing about it was the two long tentacles that stretched out of them being this through their track but having large oval-shaped ends. Besides his normal clothes, he was also wearing a pair of ear muffs, shades, and a nose plug.
When he entered the room he looked at Gnash and spoke with a tired tone. "Can you quiet down for once I'm trying to rela-" He cut himself off when he saw Izuku, his eyes almost locking on for a moment.
Izuku noticed this and tried to introduce himself to another face he recognized. "Hello, my name is Izuku Midoriya! It's an honor to meet you Sensu-"
"NO!" The man practically wailed. "Boss actually sent the invitation? Now it's gonna be so loud. For a week!"
Mackerel then leaned down to tell Izuku what was happening. "Sensus doesn't like it when things get exciting around here. He's got sensitive, well everything."
Izuku nodded in response. "I've heard. He's the best intelligence agent Okuto Aquarium ever had and that's because of a side effect of his quirk."
Sensus then responded. "I may be wearing earmuffs but I can still hear you talking about me."
Izuku and Mackerel then both straightened in response to the squidman's harsh tone.
One final voice then came from behind Mackerel and this one really did seem to scare him. "Good, you're all here."
Actually, all the sidekicks in the room seemed affected and Izuku noted that when he turned to look as Mackerel moved out of the way.
The man who was revealed was the second tallest among them. He wore a white long-sleeved shirt with a butler vest with split tailcoats on top, a pair of black pants, and sleek black shoes. Strangely his sleeves had a bulge that went from above his wrists to just beneath his elbows and underneath his tailcoat, two thin blades could be seen. His most stand-out feature was similar to Mackerel's and Gnash's but instead of a shark or a barracuda, this was a marling. His narrow yet long head was defined by the long blade sticking out of where his nose would be and the dorsal fin on the top of his head which sloped as it went back his head.
Izuku was in awe of this man, not because of his appearance but because of his reputation. He had seen the top five but this was number one. "You're Marlin! The strongest and fastest sidekick in all of Okuto Aquarium! It's such a huge honor. I'm Izuku Midoriya and, um, well, I'm here for my internship. And, uh, is it true that no villains ever escaped your Three-Pronged-Sty-"
Marlin then held up to stop the boy then looked at his fellow sidekicks. "Now that he is here, the boss wants to talk with us. Once we are done he will be called down."
Gnash then tsked. "Of course, he'd send Pinocchio."
Marlin's then proper composure completely fell apart at that moment. "What was that Hard Head!"
Gnash then got up just as aggravated. "What can't you hear cause all the bloods rushed to your nose?"
Sensus then walked between the two and to the door. "Children, children, we've been called. Let's not keep the man waiting."
With that, the two walked behind him while still glaring at each other. Mackerel then followed suit and Angle was last. She did stop to look at Izuku again. "We'll see you later Fish Egg."
With that Izuku was left in the room alone. He looked around again before sitting down on one of the chairs. He then felt his phone vibrate and when he pulled it out he was met with Dorumon looking a little unsure. "So what's our impression?"
Izuku then sighed. "This certainly wasn't what I was expecting." Was the only thing he could get out His thoughts were all over the place from so many new faces all at once. Especially ones who were elites among sidekicks.
Guilmon then commented. "Honestly, they look like they hate you. Except for those first two."
That cause Izuku to freeze. He could tell that there was some level of animosity coming from them, but for some of them, it seemed a little exaggerated.
Impmon then chimed in with some excitement. "Yeah, but did you see how strong they all looked? Except for that creepy lady, they all looked super tough. If we can train with just one of them imagine how strong we'll get."
Agumon then proceeded to match his excitement. "Yeah! I'm more excited to see how strong this "Boss" guy is though
Gabumon did not share that sentiment. "If there like these guys then he's probably super scary." The thought was not pleasing to him.
Veemon then gave his own thoughts. "We'll considering what we know of the guy he's definitely strong enough to stand among the top heroes and considering his appearance I guess scary is a good way to describe him."
Izuku then let out a sigh. He didn't know what would happen next and a part of him hoped things would go well. He had just arrived after all so it would make sense for things to change as days go by. He then heard the door open and when he looked he saw a woman dressed in a simple secretary outfit.
She looked at Izuku and gave him a professional smile. "You're presence has been requested in the lower levels." She then pointed at the briefcase next to Izuku. "I suggest you put that on. I'll wait for you." She then stepped back outside and closed the door.
Izuku then looked off for a moment before getting up and changing into his hero outfit. This was also the first time he got to see the upgrades to his outfit. Starting was the change to his boots as they had now stretched to just below his knee, replacing his knee guards with a spike attached to the top. They had also become thicker with plating and were noticeably heavier. The second part that was changed was his coat as it got rid of the "bunny ears" since after rejecting One for All he felt it was a little disrespectful, on top of that the tail of the coat was now split, and a thick rectangular object with two holes at the bottom was now attached to his back. The last part that was changed was his arm bracers as instead of having them extend as one piece he had them be made smaller and have three spikes extend over his hands from each.
After putting on the Digivice Guilmon then appeared in one of the portraits noting something. "That's some powerful new software. Isn't for all those new accessories."
Izuku nodded as he made his way to the door. "Yeah, though I don't think I'll be trying them out today." With that Izuku walked outside and followed the secretary that came for him down the hall. This is when Izuku finally got to see what was at the end of the hall. It was a rather large elevator. Entering it the secretary set it to go down and so the two would wait for a second. Izuku found the moment to be a little awkward but was a little too nervous to say anything. Once the elevator stopped the secretary gestured for him to go first. Izuku took his first few steps and was left in awe.
It was a rectangular room that was very big but its side walls were made of reinforced glass and on the other side of that glass was water and the creatures that could inhabit it. The dark room was illuminated by the waters making it all look almost magical. Looking in front of Izuku was a large almost V-shaped table with a 130-degree angle gap and a smooth being the difference. On the outer parts sat Sensus on the right and Angel on the left, Marlin sat in the inner part next to Sensus and Gnash sat next to Angel, and Marlin stood behind the large chair in the center.
He was a tall well-built man wearing a white suit with a color that reaches his chin and is decorated with diamond shapes, a pink tie, black shoes, and a killer whale-like cap. That was actually his most physical aspect, the parts of his body that resembled a killer whale. His smooth head and large fin were eye-catching, along with the white rings that made up his eyes and surrounded his pupils and his large clawed black hands. Izuku gulped at the almost sinister man as he knew exactly who he was standing in front of. The Nomber 10 Hero, Gang Orca.
The hero then spoke, commanding the room's attention. "Izuku Midoriya, yes?" It was a simple question to confirm his intern's name.
Despite that Izuku could feel the hero's eyes tearing him apart in an attempt to peer into his soul. "Y-yes, sir."
Gang Orca looked Izuku up in down quietly getting as much information as he could with his eyes. "That is an interesting hero outfit. What do you call yourself?"
Izuku was not feeling much better with that second question. "King, sir."
One of Gang Orca's eyes then expanded, mimicking a raised brow. "King? For someone so small that is quite the name."
Izuku nodded trying not to make the man angry. "I-I know, but I plan on working super hard until I can wear it with pride."
Gang Orca then slammed a closed hand against the table. So much for not making him angry. "You misunderstood my meaning." His voice did not change in tone as he explained a little. "You are but an egg, at the bottom of the food chain. Yet to hatch to your potential. Where you are you'd only be devoured by those above you. Do you understand?"
Izuku was confused for a moment he had been continuously called an egg today and now the one in charge said that as one he'd be eaten whole. It only caused the questions he had to grow more prominently. "If I'm at the bottom then where are you?"
He didn't show it but Gang Orca was interested not by the question but rather in why it was asked. "I would be at the top here while the ones around me stand above the others even they are below me."
Izuku then pointed at Marlin. "And out of all of them, he's at the top?"
The question seemed to cause some level of interest in Marlin and it caused Gnash to look away annoyed.
Gang Orca gave a short nod. "Yes, Marlin stands directly below me."
Izuku was now starting to piece things together. It was all falling into place. If he wanted respect if he wanted to be seen as more than just an egg then he'd have to reach out and take it. "Then I challenge you." He then made his pointing hand to a fist. "I'll bear my fings and rise the chain."
Gnash and Macherel both gave toothy grins at the intern's spunk, Alice gave a smile with curiosity and interest, Sensus raised a brow, Marlin looked at Gang Orca to see what he thought, and Gang Orca inwardly smiled as not only did his intern have a strong quirk but he had the intelligence and will to become stronger with it.
Gang Orca nodded to Marlin and with permission Marlin stood and looked at Izuku. "Very well Fish Egg, I accept your challenge."
With that, they all left the room going up the elevator and walking down the hall again. They all reached a large room. There wasn't anything in it other than lines painted onto the ground making a rectangle with one line splitting the halves. Marlin and Izuku were both told to stand on one half each.
In preparation, Marlin drew his blades and held them at his sides.
Izuku held his hands up and spread his legs. A position he'd often seen from WereGarurumon.
Gang Orca stepped forward as referee and held a flat hand forward. "Are both participants ready?"
The two nodded with beads of sweat already coming down Izuku's face.
Gang Orca received confirmation and then quickly moved his hand up. "Then begin!"
Izuku almost couldn't react as Marlin was already in front of him with a sword ready. Izuku moved one of his bracers up and blocked the thrust.
Marlin then lunged his head forward to use the blade on his face.
Izuku raised his other arm to block then felt himself fall to the side.
By distracting both his arms Marlin swept Izuku's leg. When the intern fell he attempted to once more thrust a blade down.
Izuku was able to open his eyes and roll away, getting back up fast enough to see Marlin approach again. His opponent was too fast and he had to level the playing field somehow. "Magnamon!"
Hearing the name Marlin dashed forward and when he thrust his blade forward he was already blinded by light. When the light faded Marlin saw the golden-armored knight holding onto his blade.
Magnamon wasted no time, landing a gut punch onto the sidekick, sending him back.
Marlin gritted his teeth from the pain and looked back up seeing Izuku stand next to Magnamon. "So this is a Royal Knight?" He then repositioned himself to continue his offense. "Don't disappoint." He then dashed forward to attack.
Magnamon quickly responded by sparkling with energy. "Plasma Shot!" Then orbs of energy shot out of him and flew towards their opponent.
Marlin slashed at one of the orbs causing it to explode and kick up a cloud of dust. The other orbs then detonated inside the dust cloud. Marlin leaped out of the dust cloud with his arms forming an X shape. "Three-Pronged-Style Pinpoint Execution!"
Magnamon felt the slashes and stab push him back much harder than he could have predicted.
Having Magnamon pushed back Izuku attempted to attack Marlin from behind by trying to throw a punch.
Marlin quickly turned and used one sword to push Izuku's hand away and thrusts his other sword between the gap of the spikes in Izuku's other bracer. In the end, Marlin's sword holds up Izuku by his hood.
"Magna Kick!" Magnamon flew forward and spun preparing to sweep-kick marlin.
"Enough!" Gang Orca's voice rang out in the room.
When the dust cleared Magnamon's leg was only an inch away from Marlin's side while Marlin's sword was centimeters away from Magnamon's neck"
Seeing this Gang Orca had come to a conclusion. "The victor is Marlin!"
Marlin then lets Izuku fall and pulls his other sword away from Magnamon, sheathing the two.
Magnamon then moved to Izuku who had fallen on his backside. "Izuku, are you ok?"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head while sitting up. "Yeah, I'll be fine. Sorry, we couldn't win."
Magnamon then let out a short sigh. "It's alright there's always next time."
Izuku then nodded. "Right." And in a flash of light, the Knight returned to the Digigvice. Izuku then let out his own defeated sigh. Then to his surprise, he saw a hand reach out to him. Looking up he saw it was Marlin offering help.
"It's Midoriya, right?" the question left Marlin's lips and gave the one it was directed toward a justified shock.
Izuku then took the sidekick's hand and got up. "Uhm, yeah. Thank you."
Marlin nodded at the thanks. "The answer was yes."
That confused Izuku again.
Seeing this Marlin explained. "You asked if it was true that a villain has never escaped my Three-Pronged-Style. The answer was yes."
Izuku was now surprised. He was ignored before but here Marlin gave him acknowledgment.
Gnash then came up to the two and warped an arm around Izuku's shoulder. "Not bad kid. Most people would've folded against Pinocchio here in three seconds."
Angel then Came to Izuku's other side. "Yeah, but you didn't do better than us. Maybe you should try fighting Mackerel next."
Izuku was in a bit of a daze because of everything. "Oh, I mean maybe."
Mackerel then came behind Izuku. "Are you going to issue a challenge to me now?"
Izuku noticing this turned to the large smiling sidekick. "Uh, no I'm uh, a little tired right now so maybe later?"
Gnash then laughed at the intern's worry. "Haha, relax kid he won't bite. Speaking of, I'm hungry let's go get some grub." He then dragged Izuku along to the door with Angel and Mackerel following behind.
Sensus left with them too though he did keep his distance.
The ones left in the room were Marline and Gang Orca, each of them contemplating the fight.
Marlin looked at Gang Orca with his thoughts ready. "I thought he would use his quirk as a shield like with that explosion boy, but he used it as a distraction to catch me off guard."
Gang Orca nodded. "I did say he had potential."
Marlin then gave a small smile. "You do have an eye for potential."
Gang Orca again agreed. "I saw all of yours." He then began to make his way to the door. "By the way, you're in charge of teaching him how to use his new equipment, I'm sure you won't have a problem with that." He then opened the door to leave.
Marlin nodded and then realized what he had heard. "Wait, what?! You can't be serious!" Though his words fell on deaf ears as Gang Orca had already left the room. "Boss? Boss?! Boss, wait come back! Please don't drop this on me!" Marlin made his way to the door now in a frantic search to get out of his new responsibility.
It had been a hectic first day for Izuku's internship but now he and those around him can see where they can go from here. Though tomorrow would present a new problem. A hungry evil in its shell lurks in search of its next meal all while making those who saw question if he was man or devil.
Gang Orca baby, yeah! He is a really cool guy. Now I would like to clear some stuff up. Parts of this chapter were inspired by Guardian-Sigil's own fanfic "Heroes Never Die It's Hero Time" which is a My Hero/Ben 10 fanfic that I will admit am a fan of. This is for anyone who recognized these points of inspiration to know that I'm not a dirty plagiarist and will credit the original creator. Now an announcement that is a little more important. Happy birthday to "The Data Hero: King"! On this day I posted the very first chapter of this story and man has it been a trip. So much has happened since then and even though I could have been posting more often I am proud of where the story has gone and where I plan to take it. So thank all of you for sticking with me and this story for so long. Now moving away from my sentimentalities, it's time for the questions and other interesting reviews!
The first review comes from Shobu556.
"X-antibody issue
Could introduce it along with the other Demon Lords as a sort of power up, or as it was intended in the media to be a sort of 'protection' against the deletion of the Digital World...so, could be a type of protection from something a lot stronger than Shigaraki's quirk of Decay." - It's an interesting idea but I don't really know how I would make a version of Decay that effects data unless I make a straight up deletion ability.
Now the first question is from Chronolocked.
"Oh man so how long is Powerloaders depression over Izuku not being in the support cause gonna last?" - For as long as it's funny. I'm not the only one who had a laugh about it, right?
Next is from SparkySparkpaw?
"Will Izuku have two veemon seeing as Ulforceveedramon is a branch of the veemon digivalution line or will he have his current veemon have two knight forms?" - I thought you already knew the answer to this one. It wouldn't be the 13 Royal Knights if there were only 12.
Next interesting comment comes from Zero-Alpha00 who also talks about the X-Antibody.
"For X-antibody, It could e introduced in a couple of ways. It could be like a temporary super move, kind of like a pseudo-super ultimate form. The more complicated way would be to make it a permanent program change, but only a few royal knight Digimon have dedicated pre-mega x forms. In the X-Evolution movie, Yggdrasil(Izuku in this case) created the program so it matches up. As for how to introduce it, You can again use the main purpose of the X-program, that is to say, to destroy data. It could be that Izuku created a program to destroy worms or malicious data the LoV may have infected UA with, not realizing the full scope of what it can do. Another way would be that Izuku notices something weird about Dorumons code (Who naturally should already have it) and discovers it that way." - Ok, that is a lot of info at once so I'll try to keep this short. While all these ideas are interesting I think my favorite one is the third one. It seems the most realistic in my mind though I can see why people would think it's the most boring.
Next up is Guipa and oh man, well he asked for it.
"So… it's been a few months and I've been researching Digimon and the lines a lot(I've a project of my own in the works)
So far, the more obvious lines for the Royal knights are the Dynasmon line being Impmon into wizarmon into mistymon, the ulforce veedramon line being the v tamer line with a child Digimon added(doesn't necessarily need to be another veemon), the sleipmon line being the same as it was in savers, the jesmon line being the hackmon line, and the examon line with both coredramons
This leaves Gankoomon, lordknightmon, duftmon, and craniummon…
For Gankoomon, I still really like Gaomon into Gaogamon into MachGaogamon into Gankoomon. for Lordknightmon, one of the two pawnchessmon could work, but knightchessmon isn't a great adult to go into knightmon and then lordknightmon… maybe kotemon, gladimon, knightmon and lordknightmon. Then for duftmon, after looking into Wikimon for a while I kinda settled on Storabimon into Wolfmon into Beowulfmon into Duftmon, but it can also become Garummon and then Duftmon Leopard Mode. Finally we have craniummon, and I think I'll stick with kokuwamon into guardromon into Andromon and then Craniummon
Also, this time please don't skip most of my review" - Happy? I didn't skip any part of your review. So you have your own project huh? Well, I look forward to seeing it one day. As for the lines I don't wanna be harsh but some of these just seem bad. The Gankoomon lines and Duftmon lines especially. You had two lines of canines turn into a guy in spandex and a leopard. I get, Digimon evolution is free and that's part of the fun but when it comes to narratives I prefer to have the lines be a little more cohesive. It's worse for Duftmon too since you picked the line of a Legendary Warrior and to me at least that is a big no-no. For Gankoomon better ultimates would be Superstarmon, BlueMeramon, Death/SkullMeramon, or Volcamon. As for Duftmon, better ultimates would be Grademon, GrapLeomon, Knightmon, or Wismon. As for LordKnightmon, I do prefer the Kotemon line. Finally, we come to Craniumon where you also picked a solid line though you could also use SkullSatamon's line.
Next, I would like to quickly address a review from a Guest.
"Nice job with the cameos of Tai and Kari! So, I see Shoto was inspired by WarGrowlmon Digivolving into Gallantmon! Oh, so that's where the Data Hero: King name comes in! I hope Ida listens to Izuku's advice! Who's Izuku going to be interning with? Regardless, I look forward to seeing more of this great story! Keep up the great work and stay safe from the coronavirus!" - Thanks, it's nice to hear you're enjoying the story. Now what I would like to say is that you brought up something important. Todoroki's hero name. It would seem like no one noticed that the name Nova is a reference to GraceNovamon, another ice and fire jogress.
Next is another review from tusker0.
"glad to see i at least helped somehow and actually taking what you said about eri..i may have a suggestion for lordknightmon if it comes to operation eri then if it comes to the moment perhaps use the huge overcharge of energy into as you say an army..an army for lordknightmon that would basicly give izuku an inmence energy to use and save himself a bit from beeng rewinded too much since he is constantly using that energy and it would be also a good way for the use of lordknightmon X since its said that he has the strenght of every knightmon inside him" - While I like the idea I would have to make this part of the base power set and balancing that sounds like a headache.
Next is another Guest Kim-ken.
"Will Diaboromon make an apperance? If so, you can explained that he is a rouge "knight" that was corrupted by viruses when Deku was creating him. And because of this he became an independent Quirk sepperate from Deku, and thus doesn't need him to survive. But in exchange he need to feed on data and energy to continue extisting. This would make for a really interesting dilemma for Deku and the others" - Diaboromon, huh? He is a cool mon though I don't think I'd introduce him like that.
A review I would also like to acknowledge comes from ShadenLester.
"You know if you wanted to bring Monoma as a bigger part in the story you could have him copy Izuku's ability. With it he could make one of the alternate Omegamons - Omegamon Alter-S (BlitzGreymon and CresGarurumon) or Omegamon Zwart (BlackWarGreymon and BlackMetalGarurumon). Could give the Digimon and Izuku a cool mirror rival." - The are two reasons I can't do that. One, quirk compatibility, basically Monoma's brain isn't built to handle a quirk like Izuku's. Second, time, Monoma has a time limit on his quirk which means he'd have to constantly be touching Izuku just to train them. Now imagine that in a combat scenario. It's just not very practical.
Next are some questions from Animeguy1101.
"Is Veemon going to get more Digimon eggs for armor digivolving, like Hope and Reliability have some cool armors for Veemon." - Maybe not, I have stated before that I wouldn't do it and nothing as of now has changed my mind.
"Could Izuku just make the X-Antibody for his partners like he made the armor digi eggs, if not then what's the difference that he can't?" - The difference is something that will be explored in the future. But if you want an answer now then one remodels and reconfigures data the other modifies and enhances it.
"If you don't want two Veemon how about a Shoutmon that becomes RedVeedramon, that is a real Digimon, and then it follows the standard line of AeroVeedramon to Ulforce Veedramon?" - Not a big fan of Shoutmon, besides I already have a plane for UlForceVeedramon.
Finally, we have NightFury101.
"I also think Izuku should have a few more Digimon, aside from all the knights that is, like the three Holy Digimon, Ophanimon, Seraphimon, and Cherubimon (Goodness Mode), Apollomon, Dianamon, and Neptunemon; and if not Neptunemon, Submarimon would be a good water based digimon, and every good king needs a noble steed, I'd go with Pegasusmon! Honestly I'd just go with the Three Holy Digimon, and the main armored digimon. Another possibility is if you decide to do the Meta Liberation Arc, Give Izuku an Army of Digimon to face off with all the High-End Nomu. It'd be like that scene in the Digimon Fusion (Xros Wars)." - Ok, so why wouldn't I do this? Simple, energy consumption. Izuku isn't a god and would die if he attempted this. Another reason is once again time. Izuku would need to put time and effort into training every single one of them to get them up to snuff and that is just too much. Also I have said this once and I'll say it again, 13 is a big number and with it already comes a lot of power.
That was a lot to cover, but it's nice to see so many of you have something to say. I appreciate it. I would like to say again that I have plans for a collection of none canon side stories and you guys are allowed to give me chapter ideas of something you'd like to see. With that, I'd like to wish this story another happy birthday and an until next time to all of you!
