I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC

Hello guys, Badger here. I hope everyone is doing okay. I apologise it has been a while since I posted the last chapter of this story. Other stories got in the way as well as University assessments, and massive writers block, to which I spent days chipping away that block, piece but I'm here with chapter 7. Remember, if any of you have a story you would like to see written, or if you have a story that you no longer want to finish and want someone to take over, let me know, I do take requests.

That is all for now. Enjoy and I'll see you at the end.

Chapter 7

What Is Sleep?

The distant roar of guitars and the hammering of drums were all the occupants of 12 Grimmauld Place could hear. Remus had placed a soundproofing charm in the room where Lightning and his band were playing, but even then the music was still quite loud. It was early in the morning and Mrs Weasley was dishing up breakfast, the disgust on her face making it evident that she didn't like, or approve, of the music currently being played.

"I don't see why people love 'metal' music so much" Ron commented, as he shovelled food into his mouth "it's just a load of loud noises that will make your ears bleed"

"It's not just loud noises Ron" Hermione replied, in her lecturer tone "I'm not a fan myself, but I find that metal music is engaging and thrilling, and is unique, which in turn allows others to feel unique too"

"Plus, it helps when the members of the band are good looking" Ginny spoke up, winking at Hermione, causing Hermione to choke slightly on the toast she was eating

"Whatever the reason, Ronnikins is right" Mr Weasley said "That music is just a load of loud noise…not to mention, tattoos, piercings, they are young and those things aren't what respectable young people should have"

"Oh let it go Molly" Sirius spoke up, just as the music died down "They enjoy the music they play, and whilst I wish they waited a few years longer, its their life and as much as I'm going to be a part of Har…I mean Lightnings', I can't tell him everything that he can and can't do"

"It's still not respectable" Mrs Weasley replied, shaking a ladle in his direction, before turning to Lupin who was sitting next to him "Remus, surely you don't agree with him on this?"

"Usually I wouldn't" Lupin said, as he sipped some tea "But I'm going to on this one exception…as much as it pains me, we haven't been there in Lightning's life for nearly 15 years, therefore I don't think we have the right to take control over his life…not completely"

Mrs Weasley opened her mouth, only to close it, when Lightning and the rest of the band entered the room. Besides Aila, all of them looked slightly sweaty and the dark rings around their eyes made it clear they didn't get much sleep. Hound and Ghost sat on the far end of table, nodding to everyone, whilst Aila sat next to Hermione and Ace and Lightning jumped up and sat on the kitchen counters, behind Sirius and Remus.

"You guys look tired" Remus said "How much sleep did you get last night?"

"What is sleep?" Ace asked, making Lightning chuckle "Please, we haven't slept at all"

"Seriously?" Fred asked

"How are you still awake?" George continued

"You'd be surprised" Aila commented "In fact, they haven't slept in about a week…they only sleep when they pass out behind their instruments…once Ace passed out live on stage"

"One time!" Ace exclaimed "One time that happened!"

"What's it like being part of a band?" Sirius asked, as he was a metal music fan himself

"Oh, its amazing" Hound exclaimed "The adrenaline rush on stage…the love from fans…not to mention all the gigs and signing events we've been too…in fact, Ace don't you still have that magazine on you?"

"Oh yeah, hang on" Ace replied, jumping off of the counter

He rummaged around the inside pockets of his jacket, before pulling out a rolled up magazine. Uncurling it, he threw it down on the table. Everyone looked closer to see the members of the band, looking much younger, without their piercings and tattoos. The headline on the magazine read: "Youngest Band To Become Number One Fan Favourite Of The Generation". Ghost quickly left and soon reappeared with a box. Inside was a bunch more magazines, where she placed some more on the table. Each one featured various members of the band, with each headline praising the band in some way. On each cover, the clear change in their appearance could be seen, as slowly but surely, they went from young and innocent children to the metal heads they were now. Ginny noticed one and pointed it out to Hermione. One featuring Ace and Lightning with the headline: "Singles For The Younger Generation". Hermione blushed at the look Ginny was giving her.

"You guys are really popular" Fred said, looking through some of the magazines

"Believe it, sometimes I find it difficult to believe myself" Lightning smiled, moving back to the counter, pulling out two cigarettes, handing one to Lightning, where with a swift flick of a lighter, they were lit

"Are you two smoking!" Mrs Weasley screeched

Ace took a deep drag from the cigarette in his hand and exhaled a thick cloud of smoke a few seconds later, nodding for a few seconds, thoughtfully.

"Yeah" He said, making the other band members laugh

"Smoking is not an acceptable thing to do, young man!" Mrs Weasley exclaimed "Especially at your age!"

"Oh relax woman" Lightning spoke up "We don't smoke all the time"

"Yeah, they also take drugs and drink too" Aila commented

"Thank you for that" Ace grit his teeth

"Yeah, Aila, what the fuck was that for?" Lightning asked

"Smoking…drugs…alcohol…" Mrs Weasley, stuttered "I can't believe this…you…you…"

"Did I hear right?" Dumbledore asked, as he appeared through the doorway "Smoking, drugs and alcohol?"

"Yes Albus" Mrs Weasley took a breath, before pointing towards Ace and Lightning "Those boys are smoking and according to…Aila, they've done more than smoke!"

"WHAT!" Lily yelled, barging past Dumbledore, stopping mere inches away from Lightning "You're smoking!"

"Is this the nine o'clock news?" Lightning said sarcastically, blowing out some more smoke "Yes I'm smoking…what are you going to do about it?"

"What I'm going to do is ask you to give it to me" Lily replied, holding out her hand, whilst James stood back a bit, choosing to keep his distance for the moment "Smoking is not a clever thing and I don't want to see you do it again, because you'll be in a lot of trouble if I do"

Lightning looked at Lily, his eyes narrowed dangerously. He took one more drag from his cigarette, blowing smoke into her face, before putting it out on her palm, causing her to scream from the burns.

"Hey!" James yelled out stepping forward "Young man, I can understand if you are mad at us, for what we did, but I will not tolerate you hurting your mother and disrespecting her like that, you will apologise to her, or you are grounded!"

"Well, you better ground me then" Lightning rolled his eyes, jumping off the counter "Though if you ask me, I don't think you have the right to do so…let's go guys, I need to vent out some frustration and I think singing some 'Psychosocial' will help with that"

No other words were said, as Lightning left the dining area, followed by the rest of the band members. Ace took a moment to grab a couple slices of fresh toast from a nearby plate, before he left too. The rest of the occupants remained where they were, in an uncomfortable silence, the tension so thick it could be sliced with a knife. The faint sound of instruments playing, snapped Dumbledore out of it, before turning to Mrs Weasley.

"Molly, I apologise to cut breakfast short" He said "But the rest of the Order will be here any moment, I've called for an Order meeting"

"Of course Albus" Mrs Weasley nodded, using her wand to move the food onto the counters "Okay kids, upstairs, I'll keep the food under warming charms, we'll continue breakfast when the meetings over"

As the kids made their way upstairs, Ron tried shovelling more food into his mouth, before he was dragged out of the room by his mother. It wasn't long until the other members of the Order, including Snape, Mad Eye, Tonks and Shacklebolt, arrived and Dumbledore started the meeting.

"Severus, I think you should start us off" Dumbledore said "What is going on with Voldemort?"

"He is enraged" Snape replied "Though if you ask me, enraged is an understatement…he was able to get a blood tracking potion brewed, and when he found you already found Har…Lightning he went into a rage, throwing curses, killing Goyle Snr in the process…I believe he's hoping to somehow grab Lightning at Hogwarts, whether he plans to kill him or turn him to their cause, I am unsure, though I doubt its anything good"

"As much as it pains me, we don't have to worry about Harry being grabbed" Dumbledore sighed "He's not going to Hogwarts"

"What!" Mad Eye exclaimed "Albus that boy is important…without any magical training, the war is as good as lost"

"I understand that Alastor" Dumbledore replied "However, I hope that I can sway Harry and convince him to go to Hogwarts"

"Good luck" Sirius coughed into his hand

"Elaborate" Dumbledore said

"First off, it's not Harry, it's Lightning" Sirius said "It's difficult for me, but you need to understand, he doesn't want to go by Harry…second of all, he's made a life in the Muggle world and I don't think he's going to give that up any time soon"

Sirius pulled out one of the magazines that Ghost had shown them and slammed it down on the table for the others to see. The magazine was recent, having been published mere months ago. The cover had Lightning and Ace standing back to back, with Ghost and Hound behind them. Each one of them fully decked out in their metal head clothing, makeup and all. The headline: 'The Metal Band Of The Generation To Go On Tour' was in big, bold, golden letters making them standout from miles away.

"Wow…" Tonks muttered, before looking up at Sirius "Do you think they could get me a ticket to one of their gigs?"

Sirius smiled, knowing how much his cousin loved metal music.

"I think we're getting off track" Dumbledore spoke up, looking away from the magazine "As the prophecy states, Harry is the only one who can defeat Voldemort"

"Maybe not" Remus replied, making everyone turn his way "Most prophecies tend to be fabricated or self-fulfilling in some kind of way and…forgive me…but Trelawney isn't exactly a seer…I should know…when I taught in Aiden's third year, the smell of cooking sherry followed her wherever she went…and from what I've heard her 'visions' are…interesting to say the least…besides, why should we place all our faith into a teenage boy, who doesn't have the same experience as the Aurors in the Ministry?"

Dumbledore didn't like that he was being questioned. Nor did he like that some members of the Order seemed to be thinking about what Remus was saying and agreeing with him. They didn't understand. Harry was important to the war. More important then anyone in this room. Dumbledore didn't care that Harry went by Lightning, or that he was a member of some band. Harry needed to defeat Voldemort.

Somehow.

And that is the end of chapter 7. What did you guys think?

I'm sorry if it seems shorter then the previous ones. It was originally going to be longer, ending with a moment between Ginny and Ace, but I'm going to save that for a future chapter.

There is more cases of James and Lily bashing in this chapter. With Lily getting the worse of the backlash. I'm not just bashing on them for the hell of it. Lightning may forgive James at some point in the future, but as for Lily, I am unsure. At some point, Lightning will reveal why he hates his mother so much, but as of yet, I don't know what to do just yet. I'm still undecided how this story is going to end.

That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time.
