Training with his dual axes some more, Cody was getting more into the hang of using these two weapons. Not only that, but he was getting used to his revolver as well. This time, Tommy was there to see how the kid was doing putting his axes to training use.
He was watching on and on as Cody was getting the use of the weapons and how he was slowly transforming into a warrior.
Of course; Cody was not a total warrior, but he is slowly getting there. For many, the roads to success can be fast, but for others, it can be slow and it would probably take some time. It almost felt like Cody was going to join the US military or probably the French Foreign Legion. "Just look at him." Said Celeste. "He's getting good with zos axes." And has her arms crossed. "But I hope he doesn't hurt himself. Cody is still just a boy."
"I know, but Cody is learning. It made me think," said Tommy, "that ever since mom and dad died, it helped him mature and grow up on the inside. Turned him into a whole new Cody Laurent."
"Oui, zat's true." Celeste pointed. He's like you a little."
"Almost. He didn't join the French legion like I did." Tommy then thought about that pious man that he knew before he moved to France. "Cody called me last night and said that an unfriendly face from town thought he was the Antichrist."
Celeste gasped in confusion and disbelief. "Him the bringer of Armageddon? S'il vous plait. Where did that crazy bâtard (bastard) ever thought of something ridiculous as that?"
"Belmont is one of those self-centered priests who think themselves better than anyone else. He's like a modern Templar knight, but more extreme. The man's thinking is so Old Testament for us to understand. Mr Belmont is one of those Holier-than-thou bible thumpers."
"Ugh. I hate those kind of people." Celeste groaned. "But what should we do about this man? What if he tries to hurt your little brother? Cody had already been through so much."
"Come on," said Tommy. "Belmont has little to no friends at all. It's not like he can just easily win over a large mass of people by his side all because he thinks that my own kind, and good-natured little brother is the Antichrist. The day that it would ever happen would be the day pigs would learn to fly, or humans became cosmic deities."
Celeste made a small, cute laugh.
"That's a good way to put it." Said Loona with her arms crossed. "But if that old man tries to hurt Cody, I will gouge his eyes out with a corkscrew. You have my word, Tommy."
"Cool." Tommy smiled. "He's doing good with those axes. Felt like he should have joined the legion a long time ago."
"Sure, the kid's good," said Tex, "but he's not like a black belt. Practice makes perfect for everyone."
"Very true." Said Celeste
Cody was feeling some sweat going down his face from all that ax swinging and began panting from all the training and exercise he had endeavored today. Drinking some lemonade from a nearby table, Cody approached his big brother and asked: "So how are the guys doing, Tommy?"
"Everyone is doing awesome, Cody." Tommy happily replied. "They miss you and would like to see you again some time."
"Sure! Can you tell them I said hi?"
"You got it." Tommy pointed his gun gesture with his finger at his little brother. "And hey, you are doing so well with those axes."
"Thanks, Tommy." Cody smiled.
"Tommy, can I have a word with you for a moment?" Loona said
"Sure, what is it?"
Pulling the older human away, the female hellhound cleared her throat and said: "You remember those DHORK hunters that tried to lobotomize Cody?"
"Yes, why?"
"Because they teamed up with Mr Belmont."
A look of shock and disbelief appeared on Tommy's face. "What?" He said. "But, they said they would leave Cody alone."
"Some people are fucking good liars unfortunately." Loona looked annoyed. "Some people hear but don't listen."
"True. That's true. But I've read about those agents. People don't them seriously either."
"Yes but they have weapons and they know that demons exist. And Cody almost turned into a shell of himself because of those agents. But now with Belmont by their side, they might kill him, and I am not losing my new adopted brother." Loona said, having a worried expression on her face.
"Me neither." said Tommy. "Cody is everything to me as much as he is to you, Loona. And if anything bad does happen, never be afraid to call on me and my friends."
"Who said I was afraid, you pussy."
"Hey hey hey!" Tommy said. "There's no call for that."
Loona let out a small sigh and closed her eyes for a few seconds. "I know. I'm just worried about what those anti-demon fuckwads will do to Cody when they see him again."
"As long as people don't take Mr. Belmont seriously, Cody will have nothing to worry about. A thousand other things would have to go wrong before the whole world goes against Cody."
On Earth, Mr. Belmont was meeting what appeared to be an Angel, but a rather disturbing kind of Angel. One with an electric guitar and having some horns on his head. "Pardon the intrusion, my good man." said the Angel in an ecstatic voice. "I couldn't help but hear that you are having a little trouble with a human boy named Cody Laurent."
"Yes!" said Belmont in surprise. "Are you... an Angel?"
"Oh yeah, baby!" said the deity pulling out an electric guitar and playing a killer solo. "Call me Adam, the commander of the Exorcists Angels from Heaven."
"Adam." Mr Belmont made a gasp. "Are you-"
"Nope. I am not the Adam as in the first man on Earth. No." the Angel sounded rather annoyed.
"Oh. What exactly are exorcists?"
"A group of demons under my command to kill as much demons as we can in Hell as part of overpopulation control." Adam flatly said.
"Huh. I'll be damned." said the preacher. "The Lord has come to hear my prayer." a smile appeared on his face. "God sent you down here, didn't he?"
"Not exactly." Adam admitted. "I came here by myself. But he said he felt a disturbance and sent me down here to investigate. Now, about that Cody kid. You have a problem with him, am I hearing correctly?"
"Yes!" Belmont pointed. "Yes, I most certainly am. Cody is the Antichrist, and he killed his own parents in his sleep. If this child continues to live, he will grow up to be the world's worst nightmare of all time. Bring Armogeddon to all life as we know it. An Antichrist is an abomination that-"
"Cool your jets, dude." Adam clamped his mouth shut with his lips before releasing them. "I know about the fucking Antichrist as much as anyone in Heaven. So how can you be so sure about him being the destruction for all mankind?"
"My new friends say that he is living among demons and being corrupted by them to cause only destruction. And Jesus is corrupted as well."
"What? That is the most fucking ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Jesus is the most pure of us all."
"That's what I thought, but he finally succumbed to Lucifer's temptation after two thousand years!"
Adam looked quite shocked and said: "Then... our worst fears have been realized." he slightly looked away. "Who are these new friends you mentioned?"
"They call themselves the 'D.H.O.R.K.S, some kind of demon hunting militia."
"Ah! I have heard of those humans." Adam recognized. "A lot of people do not take them seriously, and call them fucking crazy. Many humans are blind to the faith."
"Ugh, i know, it drives me so damn crazy." Belmont growled. "But you play rock and metal music?" he began to complain.
Adam looked offended. "And what is wrong with it?" he asked. "Rock and metal are one of the greatest inventions ever invented by all mankind. It lets you express yourself and tell people how you feel. Think of them as a way to express your anger and unhappiness."
"They are tools of anarchy and disarray for all of the world. All they do is destroy and demolish and disrespect. They are only an invention of Satan and his demon brethren."
"Boy, you sound like a judgmental old man."
"Hey! I am not old. I am fifty-one." Belmont sounded offended.
"Whatever."
On Earth, while all of this was happening, Cody, Loona, Tommy, Celeste, and the whole gang decided to have some food at Burger King, which Stolas paid for, being rich and all. Apparently Goetia family members can turn demon dollars into Earth currency too. As they were having some food together, a large tour buss parked out in front of the joint, and Cody gasped as he recognized the bus' logo on the sides of the black vehicle.
"Oh my god." Cody smiled as he was reading it. Was it... Could it be? Yes, the van said: "Black Label Society" on it. He could hardly believe what he was seeing from outside. Zakk Wylde, one of the greatest guitar players ever came out, and his bandmates, John DeServio, Dario Lorina, and Jeff Fab were all coming outside the bus to get something to eat for themselves.
"No, fucking way." said Loona in disbelief.
As the four band members went inside the building to tell their manager about what they wanted to order Cody looked a little nervous. He wanted to meet one of his favorite musicians, but he didn't want to look like a stupid teenage fangirl or Justin Bieber. Yes, the boy felt some butterflies in his stomach just by looking at Zakk. "I can't believe it." said Cody. "I must be dreaming."
"Who is that?" asked Stolas.
"You don't know Zakk Wylde?" asked Tex. "One of the greatest guitar players ever existed, and performed with Ozzy Osbourne himself for about twenty years."
"Ozzy Osbourne?" said Stolas, recognizing that name. "Ah, I think I remember this gentleman now. But what is his band?"
"Black Label Society." said Octavia, "Zakk's solo band. Sweet Satan, you have been missing out, dad." she couldn't help but chuckle.
"You know, i've worked with him as his security guard for a few years before joining Verosika." said Vortex.
"Really?" said Loona. "You wanna see him again?"
"I don't know if he'll recognize me." the disguised male hellhound said.
"He will." said Crystal. "He does a lot of meet and greets."
"OK. Cody, wanna meet him?"
"Meet him?" said the kid, "But I don't want to make him think i'm weird."
"Come on, you know you want to meet him." said Tommy, giving him a gentle punch in the arm. Cody took a breath and decided he did want to meet him. His heart was pounding more harder than the heaviest kind of drum, but he took another breath and got out of the booth he and some of his friends were sitting in. Looking over at Zakk and his friends sitting in a booth on the other side of the restaurant, Tex was next to his little friend and Loona was on his other side.
Walking up to the group, The group looked at the three, whom the kid's heart was beating even faster than before. "Tex?" said Zakk.
"Zakk, my man!" Tex greeted him as the blonde guitarist got up and hugged the disguised male hellhound asd they had a good laugh. "It's been a while."
"Yeah man, a long fucking while." Zakk smiled. "Still going strong, brother?"
"As always, man."
Zakk looked at Loona and said: "Hello, pretty lady."
"Uhh... hey." Loona said.
"You a friend of Tex?"
"Yep. One of my closest friends."
"Cool." and then the legendary guitarist looked at Cody. "And what's your name, little man?"
"Cody. Cody Laurent."
"Nice to meet you, kid." he knelt down and and shook hands with the kid. "I notice your shirt." he gently tapped at the Black Rain shirt that Cody was wearing. "I like your style. You listen to metal?"
"I do. I've listened to your music for years and i've listend to Ozzy's music too."
"Awesome." said Zakk. "I like this kid already." he gave him a gently pat on his shoulder.
