Chapter Summary: Ace never really kept any hope that Keiwa would ever recognise him in his heart. Yet that heart did still know him and it made him so happy.

Ref. point: Lonesome Kitsune Chapter 2 addendum

To be honest, he never expected that Keiwa to ever find it in his heart to remember him anymore. Because as how his Grand End should have worked—the same way Suel's Grand End would—everyone's memories about the existence of the DesiGra should have been reset. While some of the traces of the shady underdealings involving multiple sponsors who have aided in covering up the unsavoury aftermaths of the games would've still remained, with the knowledge of the DesiGra removed the humans' minds would just adapt themselves to make sense of the inconsistencies.

Anyway... Ace wouldn't really mind it if Keiwa would just continue referring to him as the 'little guy'. Keiwa could just call him anything he wanted, and Ace would take it in as his new name. He really wouldn't mind it at all!

"This guy was really a gentle fox, right Ace?"

Of all the things that Ace thought could ever take him by surprise, he certainly didn't expect this. Sara-san was right to be shocked about this as well. Because prior to this, Keiwa didn't even spare any thoughts about thinking up what name he wanted to give to Ace.

But to think that the very first name that crossed Keiwa's mind was his actual name, Ace couldn't be even more flattered!

"Well, it does look like an Ace, don't you think?"

Did Keiwa recognise him... even in this fox form? Ace would kiss him over and over again if that was true. But of course, Keiwa shouldn't be remembering him... or any of the bad memories of the past DesiGras. Or else... Ace wondered if Keiwa's heart could really take it any longer, especially if Keiwa remembered anything about the Parasite game. Would Keiwa end up choosing the same path as back then... to atone for his own sins...

Keiwa suddenly got up to leave and Ace tried to grab him to prevent Keiwa from leaving. And then Keiwa turned back to see him.

"How about some fried tofu as snacks?"

Would he like that? What did Keiwa think of him?

Of course! Of course, he'd like anything Keiwa would want to offer to him! Hasn't his tail been very honest enough so far?

Keiwa's eyes were still shining brightly at him as the man kept talking to his sister about him. Keiwa was just as excited about having him here as much as he was so excited to spend more time with Keiwa!

Perhaps he had been worrying about Keiwa a bit too much.

"Ace is still Ace!"

Perhaps he should just allow himself to at least savour these little moments of happiness. After all, Keiwa's heart had somehow still remember him... isn't that the only thing that mattered?

Keiwa is still Keiwa after all!

A/N: I don't even know what this short was supposed to be about seriously. I wanted it to be just happy thoughts, but Ace had to be a bit sad about it.
