PPX: Zuma's First Month
Episode three: A Positive Mood when eating Fast Food
Zuma was playing with the other pups in the park as Zuma himself was being pushed on the swings by Chase. He was having a great time and wanted to see just how high he could go. "Highew Chase! Send this puppy to the moon!"
Chase liked the sound of that, and not just because he'd been meaning to show off his strength lately. "Let's hope I can manage that Zuma. Get ready for blast off!" Zuma got himself ready with Chase pushing as hard as he could, only to surprise himself as Zuma started going over the the bar. Zuma then came down laughing with Zuma getting down on the ground just in time as Zuma almost kicked him in the face, leaving the German Shepherd to get up as he acknowledged the full 360. "Well it wasn't the moon, but at least we know you'd be good at skateboarding."
Zuma liked the sound of skateboarding as Chase's stomach then growled, leaving Zuma to see what was up. "You hungwy or gassy?"
"Hungry." Chase confirmed, and then he pulled out a protein bar and ate it up. He then let out a small burp due to how fast he ate it and patted his stomach. Zuma snickered a bit as he braced himself for how Chase would go from hungry to gassy later on. "Oh yeah; that bad boy should fill me up until lunch."
Zuma started to think about lunch himself and wondered what he and the others were going to have today. "What's lunch gonna be today anyway?" Chase shrugged, not really sure himself as he continued to push Zuma on the swing.
Zuma was watching Tv with Rocky with the both of them watching a female hyena getting ready to start singing and loving what they were seeing. Just then, a commercial came on with Zuma becoming intrigued as it was revealed to be for a fast food burger joint. "Get the new action figures for The Legend of Kion! Watch Simba and Nala fuse together, as a reference to the all new episode of the anime! Get this toy only at PupDonald's, now!"
Zuma liked the sound of that and looked at Rocky to talk about it with him. "I could totally kill fow a buwger wight about now. And that toy looks totally awesome."
"It does, but the others may not end up taking you, since we have a bunch of stuff in the kitchen." Rocky pointed out, knowing that it'd been two days since the Paw Patrol did their weekly shopping. "And Chase is kinda like me, where he doesn't like stuff going to waste."
"Then let's ask him." Zuma suggested, and as if right on cue, Chase came in with Zuma asking his question. "Hey Chase; I just saw the commewcial for PupDonald's. You think we can get that for lunch?"
Chase did like the idea of PupDonald's, but he wasn't sure they had to go since they had plenty of food in the kitchen. "I don't know Zuma. We have plenty of food here."
"Do we have toys fwom The Legend of Kion that have Simba and Nala fusing?" Zuma asked, leaving Chase confused as Zuma then gave a smug grin, along with his retort. "That's what I thought."
Chase rolled his eyes while smiling and figured it'd be a bit much to outright say no on the spot. "I'll talk to Skye and Ryder about it and see what they wanna do."
Chase walked off after rubbing Zuma's head affectionately, leaving Zuma bummed out, since he felt this could lead to an outright no. "Just wait until the bomb dwops."
Rocky and Zuma were in town together as they walked around with Rocky trying to help Zuma feel better about PupDonald's. "It wasn't an outright 'no' Zuma. You still have a chance at getting to try the place out today."
"And get that Legend of Kion toy, I know." Zuma responded, wishing he could just drive to PupDonald's himself to try the place out. "It's times like this I wish I could just dwive myself." Zuma then started to think to himself about how cool it would be to drive to places on his own. "Too bad Wyder only applies vehicles to membews of the Paw Patwol."
Rocky laughed a bit since he felt that one. The thought of driving around sounded awesome. "I get that. Driving sounds really exciting on it's own. And getting to choose where you go just makes it all the more tempting to get what you need to make it happen."
Nicky was in some nearby alleyway as he overheard Rocky and Zuma from nearby. "If I wanted to, I could MAKE it happen." Nicky listened in to see if there was anything useful he could use on Rocky and Zuma. He made sure to stay out of sight by hiding under a nearby box with eye holes in it. "My pawents did get awwested for being mastew thieves after all. And if thewe's one valuable thing I got fwom Bloodfweak, it's that I inhewited some of their skills." Nicky gave a mischievous grin, plotting a scenario to get Zuma in trouble that he felt would succeed.
The ending of Zuma's statement was then shown as he assured Rocky that him stealing from the Paw Patrol wouldn't happen. "But that won't happen; at least until the others know for suwe that I'm bettew than that. And even then, it's a pwetty unlikely possibility that I'd wanna wepay them like that."
"That's good. Because you ARE better than that." Rocky assured Zuma, and then he remembered what time it was and realized he had to head home. "Anyway, I should head home for lunch so Richie doesn't worry." Rocky and Zuma hi fived with Rocky running off as he bid farewell to Zuma. "See ya later Zuma!"
Zuma waved goodbye to Rocky, deciding to head home with Nicky hiding behind a wall as he got ready to execute his plan. As Zuma walked past the alleyway to get back to the lookout, he thought about his walk with Rocky. 'Wocky was wight. Walking with a fwiend is weally calming.' Just then, Nicky pulled Zuma into the alleyway, and since no one was nearby, it came undetected with Zuma falling onto his back. Zuma quickly recovered and noticed Nicky, kicking him into a nearby wall. "Nicky!"
Zuma was about to punch Nicky, only for the Doberman to put his paws up as he spoke. "I'm not gonna hurt you!" Zuma stopped in his tracks and decided to let Nicky talk. He didn't believe him for a second, but then he took out some coupons for PupDonald's. This confused Zuma, and then Nicky explained what they were. "These are PupDonald's coupons. If you take them to PupDonald's before they expire, you can get a discount on their food."
Zuma wasn't sure what to think now. Was Nicky actually doing this to be nice? Or was he doing it for another reason? He decided to ask some more questions before he made a decision. "How can I twust you after what you did to Wocky thwee days ago? For all I know, these could be fake."
"They're not. I used some already." Nicky assured Zuma, and then the Chocolate Labrador looked at the coupons and saw that some of them were gone. He let his guard down a little more as Nicky then brought up something else. "I couldn't help overhearing your conversation with Rocky nearby. You said something about stealing a car?"
Zuma put his guard back up as he asked Nicky if that had something to do with why he grabbed him. "What's your game Nicky?"
"Just trying to help is all." Nicky lied quickly, and then he handed Zuma the coupons, putting them on his chest and having him grab them before he spoke up. "If someone doesn't give you something you want... take it. That's all I'm gonna say." Nicky ran off with Zuma watching as he left the alleyway, and then he left himself while looking at the coupons. He had to admit; it was pretty tempting to use some of these. But was it really worth stealing someone's car for it?
Zuma was in the living room as he looked at the coupons and contemplated on what he should do now that he had them. He knew that what Nicky did to Rocky three days ago was wrong, but could someone really change within that time span? And what he said did make sense. He could see someone in his life going to take something that another wouldn't let him have, even if it didn't look like it at first. He looked into the kitchen and saw that no one was cooking at the moment, and he then decided to head down to Chase's room as he thought about this.
As he went to Chase's room, a thought crossed his mind about how badly this could go. 'Even if I DO go thwough with this, what's the worst that could happen? Would they kick me out? It's not like they've been as mean to me as Bloodfweak. But what if they hate stealing as much as he hates disobedience?' Zuma stopped by Chase's room and sighed, knowing he was gonna have to do this while Chase was taking his nap so he didn't risk getting caught. 'Now or nevew Zuma.'
Zuma opened Chase's door as quietly as he could and closed it as he snuck on over to Chase's bed. He saw his keys and quickly tip toed over to them, and when he grabbed them from the bedside table, he tip toed out of there and left the room, snickering a bit as he realized what he just avoided. 'Thank God Chase didn't sleep fawt on me. And that he had the window open.' Zuma then walked off with the key to Chase's car in his paw. He felt guilty for taking it without asking, but he then reminded himself about his plan. 'Get the Puppy Meal, then come home. That's it.'
Zuma left the Paw Patrol lookout and got into Chase's car, making sure to start it up the best he could. "Okay; not that long of a dwive fwom PupDonald's. I wonder how you dwive this thing." Zuma put the car into driving formation and hit the gas, making sure to start off slowly so he didn't wake anyone up. Once he was far enough away from the lookout, he accelerated and made a break for PupDonald's. As he drove however, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was making the wrong call.
Zuma drove up to PupDonald's and looked for a place to park before he spotted the drive thru, making him smile at the convenience. When he drove up, he decided to put on the best casual face he could, making sure to hide any guilt he may otherwise be feeling. The drive thru was thankfully lacking in terms of lines, and he drove up to the front and started honking his horn, since no one was there. Upon the tenth honk though, which he held his paw on for, a native American blonde male revealed himself and spoke up with annoyance. "Kid, please stop honking your horn! I'm here!"
Zuma stopped honking his horn and spoke to the employee as casually as he could. "Hey! I stole my fwiend's caw because he wouldn't take me to get a Puppy Meal."
"Alright, cool, cool." The employee responded, deciding to just take Zuma's order and progress through his job. "So what do you wanna order?"
Zuma thought about what he wanted and decided to go ahead and order the cheeseburger Puppy Meal. "Can I get a cheesebuwger Puppy meal? With thwee toys."
"Um... the Puppy meal only comes with one toy." The employee informed Zuma, and this resulted in an argument between the two.
"Well I want thwee toys."
"You're only getting one toy."
"How about thwee toys?"
"It comes with one toy."
"Thwee toys!"
"One, toy!"
Zuma then started honking his horn again, refusing to give up on his extra toys. "Thwee tooooooooooys!"
The employee was fed up by that point, and he decided to just give Zuma what he wanted. "Alright! I'll see if I can get you three toys!"
"Whoooo!" Zuma cheered while honking the horn one more time. He was clearly very excited to get this Puppy Meal, AND his three toys with it.
Chase was sleeping still in his room, and as he awoke from his nap, he yawned and sat up as he scratched his butt. He then realized that he didn't have a lot of gas in him today, which he was surprised by. He felt his room would've been covered in sleep gas by now, even with the window open. "Guess I'll need some more fuel in me later." Chase then noticed that his keys were missing when he went to grab them, and he started to panic. He couldn't have misplaced his keys, or forgot where he put them, could he? "What!? But they were right here! They couldn't have just-"
Chase then started thinking about the sighs today and went out of his room, which was when he found Skye entering the Pup House. He figured she would have a chance at knowing where his car keys were. "Skye; I have a massive problem on my paws! I just found out that my car keys aren't where I left them, and if Ryder needs us for a mission then we're all screwed!"
"I was coming in just now to let you know about that." Skye informed Chase, being worried about what she saw. "And it's more than just your keys that are missing."
Chase flinched upon hearing that, and he realized what Skye was implying as he rushed outside. "Someone did something to my car!?" Chase went outside, and to his horror, his car was gone! Skye walked up to him as he started freaking out over what was gonna happen. "I knew I should've left them in a more disclosed place! What'll I do now if Ryder needs me for a mission later!? How do I figure out when I'll ever get my car back!?"
"Chase; it's gonna be okay!" Skye informed Chase, being quick to help him calm down so he could keep a level head. Chase certainly felt calmer with Skye's help, which was helped by the fact that the two were so close. And also how tender Skye was being. "Panicking isn't gonna help anyone. Let's go to Ryder and have him help us find it. He has to have a tracker in your car or something to help us find it if our vehicles are lost. Maybe Richie and Rocky can help too."
Chase breathed in with his nose and out from his mouth. He then looked at Skye with some instructions in mind. "You call Richie while getting into your helicopter, I'll get Ryder and look around Adventure Bay with him."
Zuma was in Chase's car enjoying his Puppy Meal, and as he ate the cheeseburger, he was playing with one of his three new Legend of Kion toys. He liked what he got out of the meal, but he found the toy to be kind of lame, tossing it into the passenger's seat as he commented on it. "Eh. Pup Pup Boogie's bettew." Just then, Zuma saw Ryder's ATV and Skye's helicopter nearby, and he knew what was coming. "Oh cwap!" Zuma hopped into the backseat, but Chase and Ryder caught a glimpse of him doing so with Zuma getting under one of the front seats.
Once Ryder, Chase, and Skye were at the car, Ryder knocked on the window to let Zuma know they were aware of his presence. "We know you're in there Zuma. Hiding will only make it worse."
Zuma continued to hide as Ryder tried to convince him to come out, and he went onto the door of the passenger's seat. He opened it and attempted to escape, only for a stern looking Chase to be standing there waiting for him. "Nice try buddy."
Zuma grabbed the nearby PupDonald's toy and threw it at Chase, making him dodge as Zuma climbed over the seat and ran off. "Latew!" Zuma made his way to the sunroof, attempting to get out there, only for Skye to be seen on the top.
Zuma flinched upon seeing Skye, who pinned him down gently to make sure he didn't run again. She also made sure not to hurt him as she implied what was going to happen. "Not so fast buster. You've got some explaining to do."
Zuma gulped in response to that. He knew that he was really in for it now. He then looked to find Ryder looking at him with disappointment and his arms crossed with Chase still being upset about his car being stolen, leading to the Chocolate Labrador chuckling nervously as he tried to talk them out of punishing him. "Why don't we all go out for lunch instead?"
Rocky and Richie were arriving at the Paw Patrol lookout, and as they did, they heard loud smacks along with Zuma's winces of pain. When they saw what happened, Rocky ran over to Chase as the last three smacks were given, and Chase was shown to be spanking Zuma on the couch. "Chase, whatever Zuma did, it can't possibly warrant a spanking!"
"It was only ten times Rocky. And I didn't go all out." Chase explained, and then he looked to Zuma, making sure he got the results he wanted. "Now Zuma, did that teach you why it's wrong to steal people's cars?"
"I mean... I guess it did?" Zuma answered, having not been too bothered by the spanking. It still hurt, but he had to admit that he kind of liked it. "It was actually kinda hot."
Chase flinched upon hearing that with Ryder laughing a bit at what he heard, having been watching so Chase didn't go too far, and ironically, Zuma might've done that himself. "Just so you know Zuma, Chase likes girls. We all have our kinks though."
"I don't know what that is, but good to know." Zuma responded, sitting up and finding that his butt still hurt a little from the spankings. "Ow; stings. Too quick."
Richie then asked what was going on so he could be caught up on what happened before this. "Why were you spanking Zuma anyway? That discipline tactic has been outdated for years."
"I stole Chase's caw to get a Puppy Meal." Zuma quickly stated, still feeling bad about what he did. "And I got thwee toys out of it."
Skye then became curious as to why Zuma went to PupDonald's of all places after having stolen Chase's car. Even though it was lunch time, it seemed like an odd choices for a pit stop. "Why did you go to PupDonald's anyway? We have pretty much everything we need to make burgers here. I still gotta learn how to make fries though."
Zuma took out the coupons he got from Nicky, and when he showed them to everyone else, he gave them the context. "Nicky dwagged me into an alleyway and gave me these to use. Now I'm glad they weren't fake."
"Nicky gave you these?" Skye asked, confused. "As in... 'Rocky's ex boyfriend who turned out to be a toxic influence and assaulted me earlier this week' Nicky?"
Zuma nodded his head yes guiltily as Rocky then put a paw on Zuma's leg to let him know that he wasn't upset with him. "I'll find out what he was up to. And don't worry. Spanking with the paw is as hard as Chase will go." Zuma was relieved to hear that, and Rocky then headed off with Richie going to join him so he had backup.
Rocky and Richie were walking up to the Alleyway Rocky parted ways with Zuma at, and Richie had to admit that he had his concerns. "You sure you're okay with going in alone? Just say the word and I'll be right in there with my sword, ready to defend you."
"That's why I let you come with me." Rocky informed Richie, who waited by the alleyway entrance as Rocky walked in, and Rocky looked around and saw Nicky sitting in the corner. He was in deep thought when Rocky came over, and his greeting startled him. "Nicky."
Nicky looked and saw Rocky standing there, looking stern as he tried to hide that he was plotting anything. "Rocky! Didn't see you there! Just thinking about nothing important."
Rocky sighed as he then confronted Nicky about the Pupdonald's coupons, wanting to know what his true intentions regarding them were. "Zuma said you gave him some PupDonald's coupons. Did you do it to be nice, or was there something else going on there."
Nicky then pretended to be offended by this, refusing to admit that he was trying to get Zuma in trouble. "How dare you Rocky! I would never, in all my life, try to get that new Chocolate Labrador in your life into trouble! To do so would be beneath me!"
Rocky gave a deadpan look as he shot at Zuma's introduction to him. "His introduction to you was beating me up."
Nicky flinched upon that shot directed at him as he then chuckled nervously and got defensive as he stood up on all of his four legs. "Can you blame me for wanting to get him into trouble though!? Ever since you broke up with me, all of your attention has been focused on him! I haven't seen you without him in sight!" Nicky then realized how creepy that sounded and then tried to hide him stalking Rocky with this. "Coincidences!"
Rocky groaned in annoyance as he then explained to Nicky why he was hanging out with Zuma so much lately. "You really wanna know why I've been hanging out with Zuma lately? It's because he's new in town, and he didn't have any friends when I met him. In fact, when we first met, he was being beaten up by his former orphanage bully."
Nicky wasn't buying it, finding that Rocky only did that out of pity. "So? A kid was getting beat up and you took pity on him. Plain and simple."
"It's not like that!" Rocky snapped, surprising Nicky with this sudden showing of anger as he then expressed why he saved Zuma. "Richie and I saved Zuma because we were on patrol and we wanted to help him. And we took him to the Paw Patrol because we knew they could help him." Rocky sighed, feeling that Nicky wouldn't understand what he was getting at. "There's a difference between helping someone because you feel sorry for them, and helping them out of the goodness of your heart Nicky. Richie proved that to me when he saved my life on my sixth birthday."
Rocky walked away from Nicky, who rolled his eyes in annoyance as he then went back to plotting ways to get Rocky back. When Rocky left the alleyway, Richie checked on him before they walked off. "You okay?"
"I will be. Let's go see the others." Rocky responded, and so, he and Richie headed back to the Paw Patrol lookout to see how their friends were handling Zuma's incident.
Back at the Paw Patrol lookout, Zuma was contemplating what happened while lying on the couch, being told he can't get off until Rocky and Richie got back. When Rocky and Richie came back, Zuma was relieved to see that Rocky wasn't hurt and ran up to him. "Wocky! You're okay!"
Zuma hugged Rocky with the mix enjoying it hugging him back, touched that Zuma cared this much about him. "Of course I am. Nicky wouldn't be stupid enough to beat me up with Richie around."
"As if he should be doing that at all." Richie chimed in bluntly, and then he sat down on the couch arm rest on the left of the couch as he spoke up about the situation, making sure to be casual and laid back about it. "Anyway, let me get this straight. So you got coupons from Nicky of all canines, and you stole Chase's car because you got a maybe to PupDonald's? Seems like a pretty farfetched reason to steal someone's car."
Zuma sighed with guilt as he explained to everyone why he decided to go through with stealing the car. "Nicky said that if I wanted something and someone wouldn't give it to me, then I should take it. And I know Nicky didn't leave a good fiwst impwession, at all, but what he said made sense to me." Zuma then showed his shame in his past as he elaborated on that last part. "While I was on the wun, I got pwetty much evewything I wanted or needed by taking it. I had to steal, fight back, and evewything to suwvive. (Hangs head) Food was what I went for the most."
Richie gave Zuma a smirk as he pointed out the clarity of that last one. "Well that's pretty obvious. We all need food to live."
"I know. But it still applies." Zuma then continued what he had to say and looked at Chase as he walked up to him. Chase had thankfully calmed down and was understanding towards Zuma's predicament. "Chase, I'm weally sowwy I stole your caw; and I'm not just saying that because I got busted. I felt bad as soon as I dwove off. I just weally wanted that new PupDonald's toy and I was supew hungwy, and Nicky's words stwuck me like a knife."
Chase hopped off of the couch, leaving Zuma worried about what was going to happen; and not just because Chase had spanked him earlier. To his surprise however, Chase hugged him, showing his emphasis on how he sympathized with Zuma's struggles to survive as he did. "We've all done things we aren't proud of Zuma." Chase pulled Zuma away as he told him briefly what his past was like. "I won't say how, but before Ryder found me, I wasn't completely innocent myself. In the actions department anyway."
Zuma was glad that Chase didn't look down upon him for what he did. It meant that there was still a change he'd help him break the habit. He still felt bad for stealing his car though, and it showed with what he said next. "I still wish I hadn't stolen your caw though."
Ryder had an idea in mind that he felt Zuma would be down for, since it didn't involve anything violent. He knelt down to him with a smile as he told him his idea. "I think that's a sign that we should give you a non-violent punishment. Obviously you learned your lesson, but in this scenario, we can help you reach the point where you don't feel bad about it anymore."
"I guess that could work." Zuma replied, but he wasn't sure what would fit. "Can't say I know anything about it."
Chase had an idea that he felt could work. It was something that he thankfully didn't get that often. "Let's say... grounded until tomorrow morning."
Zuma flinched upon the word grounding, and his question right after that made it clear as to why. "You're gonna buwy me in the gwound over a caw!?"
Chase couldn't help but burst into laughter upon hearing that as Skye quickly cleared up what 'grounded' meant. "No Zuma; grounded means you can't have fun for a certain period of time."
"Oh. Hehe. That makes more sense." Zuma admitted, finding it baffling that he thought grounding meant burying him alive.
Later that day, the garage was shown from the inside, and when Zuma opened the door, he pulled his guitar into the living room and closed the door behind him. "Thank you exceptions!" Zuma hopped onto the couch and set his guitar case down before opening it up. He happily pulled his guitar out and started playing, strumming a calm and happy melody that reflected how he felt in that moment. He was relieved that everything worked out in the end, and despite the stuff he got involved in that afternoon, he was glad to see that everyone there still liked him.
Zuma tried to think of a good song to play, but even after fifteen seconds of playing, he couldn't quite bring himself to get the lyrics down. This was something he would usually struggle with when it came to his music, as he was more in tune with playing than he was with writing lyrics. "Dawn. I wish I could figuwe out what I wanted to sing about mowe easily." As Zuma played some more, Chase was watching him from the hallway that led to the bedrooms, smiling as he saw Zuma being around what he loved most.
Zuma was wrapping up some kind of box in the living room; a green one with a gray bow tying it together. While he was doing this, Chase and Ryder came into the room and saw him doing so. When the two came over to him, he noticed them and panicked as he let them know he wasn't evading his punishment. "I didn't leave the house; I sweaw! I alweady had this on me!"
"Easy Zuma, you're good." Ryder assured Zuma, and then he kneeled down to Zuma, having an idea as to why he was wrapping up this present. "Is this because you weren't here when Rocky turned eight last week?"
Zuma nodded his head yes with Chase getting an idea on how Zuma could give it to him. "If it's alright with you Ryder, I'd like to drive Zuma on over to Richie's so he can give Rocky the gift now if he wants."
Zuma did find that offer tempting, but he was worried about whether or not Rocky would like it. "Do you think he'll like it? It's just a dumb toy."
"Trust me Zuma. Real dogs love dumb toys." Chase assured Zuma, who hoped his gift wouldn't be too small for Rocky.
Ryder then gave them permission, so long as they made it back in time. "He can give it to him today if he wants, but he has to be back before dinner. Though, I think I can guarantee that happening." Chase nodded his head yes in response and Zuma looked at his wrapped present. He really didn't want Rocky to have anything less than he deserved.
Rocky and Richie were playing together in Richie's room, which was quite big and had lots of toys and video games, one toy of which they were playing with right now. It was one of those tug of war toys with a rainbow pattern on it, and both of them were having a blast with it. Richie once again, let Rocky win the toy over after pulling it a bit, and the two laughed as they enjoyed their time together. When Richie started petting Rocky, Diana knocked on the door. "It's open mom!"
Diana opened the door and saw Richie and Rocky playing before letting them know who was here. "It's Chase and Zuma. Not sure why though. I heard Zuma got grounded."
Richie and Rocky looked at each other before heading out of the room to see what was up. "Thanks mom." Diana nodded as Richie and Rocky headed downstairs and saw Chase and Zuma waiting for them there. "Hey guys. What's going on?"
"Let me guess." Rocky started with a playful smirk, having a feeling as to what went down. "Zuma tried to sneak out of the lookout so he could make his way over here."
"Nah, he came with me." Chase assured Rocky, and then he looked to Zuma with a smile as Zuma held some kind of present box in his paws. "Go ahead Zuma. There's nothing to worry about."
Zuma looked down at his present and went over to Rocky with it, and when Rocky looked at the box, Zuma started talking about why he brought it over. "Wyder told me your biwthday was last week. I felt bad we didn't meet in time for me to go to the pawty."
Zuma closed his eyes and nervously handed Rocky the gift, leaving Rocky to smile with appreciation as he gently grabbed it from Zuma's paws. "Thanks Zuma." Rocky opened up the box, and the stuff inside was revealed to one of the Puppy Meal toys he got. Rocky was confused by this, since he knew how much Zuma wanted the toy. Specifically a Jasiri toy. "Your Puppy Meal toy?"
"I got thwee of them." Zuma revealed, surprising Rocky as the Chocolate Labrador then worried that he screwed up. "Oh no; I got the wong thing, didn't I."
"No no, you're okay." Rocky assured Zuma, and then he smiled as he pointed out the character he got. "Jasiri's my favorite female Legend of Kion character." Zuma smiled, glad he got Rocky the right present. Or, a present he appreciated anyway.
Chase hated to interrupt the fun, but he knew he had to get Zuma home and put a paw on his shoulder so he could get the attention. "I hate to interrupt the moment Zuma, but we gotta get back. You can hang out with Rocky all you want tomorrow."
"Okay Chase." Zuma replied, and then he looked to Rocky as Richie petted him. "Happy late biwthday Wocky."
Rocky hi pawed Zuma, glad that the two of them had met. "Thanks Zuma. I'll see you after your grounding."
Zuma left the house with Chase while bidding goodbye to Rocky, Richie, and Diana, and then got into Chase's car. Zuma started to think about Rocky as he put his seat belt on and wondered if this was a normal feeling. "Hey Chase?" Chase looked at Zuma, ready to listen to what he had to say. "Is it... nowmal, to have someone in your life who you don't wanna lose? Even if you've only known them for a few days?"
Chase smiled upon hearing Zuma's question, as it meant the two had something in common. He had that similar feeling with some of his own friends, and Zuma was starting to become one of them. "I'd say so, yeah. I've felt that way about Skye and Ryder for years now. And Rocky after Richie adopted him. And also Richie to a certain extent."
Zuma laughed a bit, realizing how many people his question applied to with Chase. "Wow. You must weally care about the others."
Chase looked forward and smiled upon knowing Zuma's future. He knew he was gonna fit right in Adventure Bay. He just needed time. "You have no idea." Chase then drove off with Zuma smiling at how today worked out. He was worried this would be the end of it all at one point, but it all worked out for the better. He closed his eyes while smiling and thinking about how the future would turn out as the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
