PPX: Zuma's First Month

Episode ten: Darkness Compiled in a Child

Somewhere near Adventure Bay, wind was blowing with a certain essence being caught by none other than Paleclaw, who was looking over a cliff. When they caught a piece of stray golden fur, they were able to capture the scent with just one sniff, even though it was only one hair. The smell of the hair caused Paleclaw to flashback to what was seemingly a recent tragedy, where they held a horrified expression. It was shown briefly, but the flashback caused Paleclaw to show a look of anger and determination. They weren't about to give up on this.

Paleclaw jumped off the cliff and slid down the wall, making their break for Adventure Bay in an attempt to find Charm and put a stop to him. Although they knew it would be a hard task, nothing was going to stop them from at least trying. They also tried to stay hidden, since the people were unfamiliar with them, and the last thing they needed was to be mistaken for a member of Charm's army. Once they knew they were in the shadows and out of sight, they set out to continue their mission.

It was early in the morning on Zuma's fourteenth day of living in Adventure Bay, and he was currently sound asleep on the couch. Chase was walking down the hall as he smelt Skye's cooking and smiled upon the smell. He then went to the living room to get Zuma up, and he had a feeling it was gonna be a struggle. "Come on Zuma. We gotta eat breakfast." Zuma then started moaning as he woke up, not being in the mood to be awake that day. "You can do it buddy. Give it your A game." Zuma moaned again as he rolled, and did so once again when he fell on the floor.

Zuma continued moaning once he started to get up with Chase making sure he could walk straight. Zuma let out a moan with each step, and then he joined Chase and Skye in the kitchen when he finally got there. He got into his seat, and Skye started laughing after she finished plating the food down, since she saw him in his tired state. "Was someone staying up late last night?"

"No, I just don't feel like keeping my eyes open." Zuma sassed, and then he tried to stay awake with Skye setting his plate down right in front of him.

When Zuma face planted into his food, Chase and Skye laughed a bit before they started eating. With Zuma now sleeping in his food, Chase started chowing down before he got a message from Ryder. He took a look at it, and he expressed concern when he did. "Ah crap. One of Richie's security drones spotted Charm's army in town!"

Skye was instantly alerted when she heard that, and Zuma became curious as to who that was despite still being barely awake. "Who?"

"He's kind of the Paw Patrol's worst enemy." Chase explained, hoping he wouldn't creep Zuma out with this. "He may be young, but he's capable of a lot of awful things from what Rocky told us."

"How would Wocky know?" Zuma asked, knowing that Rocky wasn't an official member yet. "He isn't a membew of the team, wight?"

Chase finished his food and told Zuma that he couldn't explain it to him. "It's complicated. And we should probably get going so we can stop them." Chase hopped out of his seat and rushed off to get to the mission. "Thanks for breakfast Skye! Let's hurry!"

"Right behind you!" Skye informed Chase, and she took the finished plates and cleared them off, putting them in the sink for later as she said goodbye to Zuma. "Bye Zuma! Rocky's number is on the table in case you want him to come over!" Zuma was still half asleep, but he heard what Skye told her. He decided to get started on eating, and would possibly get a soda later just to make sure.

Zuma was heading into the living room after having ate his breakfast and was watching some TV after being more energized. He seemed to be enjoying the show he was watching, even though he would've preferred to watch it with a friend. Since Chase, Skye, and Ryder were busy, that gave Zuma the perfect excuse to call his best friend. He grabbed the house phone near the couch and used the phone number that was left for him there. After two rings, Rocky answered and hoped his guess was correct. "Hey there Zuma. Did you wanna hang out?"

"That's why I called." Zuma confirmed, and then he spoke up a little more about what exactly was going on. "Chase and Skye got told by Wyder that this kid named Chawm is appawently in town and that left me home alone at the Lookout."

Rocky figured that was the case, and since he was by himself as well, he was more than happy to hang out with Zuma, despite remorse showing on his face. When he told Zuma he'd be happy to come over, he tried his best to hide it and sound as happy as possible. "Well I'd love to come over! Richie told me to stay out of the stuff involving Charm."

"Geez. He must be weally dangerwous if he's going at it without you." Zuma commented, and then he showed excitement towards Zuma coming over. "Well I'm always happy to have you ovew! Come on as fast as you can!"

"You got it!" Rocky hung up with Zuma continuing to watch his show, glad that Rocky was now coming over to hang out with him. He didn't know what exactly they could do that day, but he knew that any time he'd spend with Rocky was bound to be valuable time indeed.

Paleclaw was looking around Adventure Bay, making sure to stay in the shadows as they looked for Charm's army. They weren't having much luck, and that was to be expected, since they were well familiar with Charm by this point. Then again, who wasn't? Even in his early years, Charm was able to make a name for himself. As Paleclaw continued to look for Charm's army, they spotted a nearby soldier picking up a nearby little girl in a yellow tutu with red hair and freckles. He was about to start interrogating her, only for Paleclaw to run up to the soldier while pulling out a knife. "Hey!"

The soldier saw Paleclaw running up to him, and once they were spotted, they dodged the soldier's knife slash with a swift duck. "Try picking on someone who can fight back!" Paleclaw stabbed the soldier as soon as they finished their statement, letting the knife sit there with the little girl backing up in shock. Paleclaw then looked to the little girl, who flinched when they did. They knew the little girl wouldn't be safe by herself. "You want me to help you find your parents kid?"

The girl was surprised to hear such a thoughtful offer, and as Paleclaw cleaned their knife, she felt she didn't have much of a choice. She walked up to them and thanked them for the offer. "I'd like that. Thank you so much."

"Not a problem." Paleclaw put their knife away and assured the little girl they were on her side. "My name's Paleclaw. I think me saving you can tell you that I'm not a part of Charm's gang. I'll stand as your bodyguard on the way home, and if anymore soldiers come after us, I'll kill them on the spot."

The girl nodded in response, feeling a little safer now that she knew Paleclaw was protecting her. "R-right!" The girl walked on ahead with Paleclaw following from behind as they said they would.

Paleclaw couldn't believe that the rumors were true. So Charm WAS cruel enough to kill a child. 'Just imagine what they're saying about Charm's parents.'

Rocky and Zuma were at the Lookout with Zuma making some popcorn as Rocky was shown switching channels. When the popcorn was finished, Zuma poured it into a bowl and brought it back over to Rocky. After he noticed he changed the channel, he showed confusion as he sat down next to him. "Why'd you change the channel?"

"It's part of what I do as Richie's animal companion to watch the news for info on what Charm's attacks do to the town." Rocky explained, and the two of them sat back with Zuma offering Rocky some popcorn. Rocky smiled and happily took some. "What the heck?"

Katie was shown getting live footage of the action, and Richie was shown to be battling with a familiar Kishu. "Things are getting pretty intense out here! Apparently, one of Charm's henchmen made their way to the beach! He and Richie also seem to have some blood boiling!" Zuma noticed that Rocky was starting to feel anxious in regards to Charm's attack. That made him worry as Katie continued her report. "Still no sign of Charm! Hopefully Ryder will have some more answers!"

Zuma hoped that Rocky was okay, and that he could understood how serious this was himself. He hoped he could help Rocky feel calmer about the situation. "You okay Wocky?"

Rocky flinched and gave a nervous smile as he tried to lie about what was making him tense to Zuma. "Yeah, definitely! Just worried about the others is all! After all, an assault on Adventure Bay is a pretty scary thought!"

Zuma felt that there was more to this, but since he knew how Rocky was with panicking, he decided to leave it alone for not. "Let's just watch and see if they make it out okay. I think they'll make it out okay." Rocky was relieved that Zuma didn't catch on, and the two decided to just eat popcorn together and watch the news. Rocky knew he'd have to tell Zuma soon however. He just wished he knew when.

Paleclaw was finishing their job of escorting the little girl home, and she met up with her parents near the road to the house lots with glee. "Mommy! Daddy!" The parents hugged their daughter with joy, and as Paleclaw walked up to them, the little girl thanked them for the help. "Thank you Paleclaw!"

"Anytime." Paleclaw responded, and before they left, they gave the girl some advice for the future. "Make sure to watch out for danger. You can never know when it's coming." Paleclaw then made their leave, and as they continued the search for Charm, they noticed Chase interrogating one of Charm's soldier nearby.

Paleclaw leaned next to a wall with Chase having the soldier trapped in a net against the wall. "So you say Charm isn't involved with this attack?" The soldier nodded his head yes with Chase then asking him another question. "But isn't it also true that he's always with his right hand Trickery?"

"The Kishu!?" The soldier spoke up, knowing that he'd been busted there. "Okay, yeah, that's true! I don't know why he made an exception today; he just did!"

"Charm's smarter than that." Chase reminded the soldier, knowing full well what Claw was like from the brief encounters he's had with him. "I haven't met him much, but from what I HAVE seen from him, he's smart enough to know not to stay out of an attack just because he wants to. There's a bigger picture here, and now we're gonna find it." Just then, Paleclaw came out from where they was hiding and took out their knife. Chase was surprised to see him, and just as he spoke up, "Paleclaw?" Paleclaw stabbed the soldier right in the head, stunning him.

Paleclaw watched as the guard ran out of breath, unable to continue and succumbing to his untimely fate. Chase was shocked by the way Paleclaw took out the soldier, and Paleclaw then got onto the subject of Charm. "Looks like I won't be finding Charm here after all. Has he even set foot in Adventure Bay before?"

Chase shook off his shock from the guard's death, knowing that saving Adventure Bay was more important. "Not that I know of, no. He might've snuck around town to get some information on us while we were all sleeping or something, but even if he has, no one's noticed him."

Paleclaw had to admit that Charm was smart. Going to the main location of his enemies wasn't always a good call. "He's definitely not one for being tracked." A thought then came to Paleclaw's mind, and they hoped their worst fear wasn't true. "What about Zuma!? He isn't out here, is he!?"

"No, he's back at the Lookout; most likely with Rocky." Chase assured Paleclaw as the two walked onward, knowing that they had to protect Adventure Bay. Chase hoped Paleclaw wouldn't mind discussing their motivation for finding someone like Charm. "Why're you after Charm anyway? I mean, I can take some guesses, but I highly doubt I'll be able to pinpoint the exact reason."

Paleclaw put his knife away to avoid doing anything rash with it as they then started to explain to Chase what he was after. "You know that guy I told you about when we first met and Zuma introduced me?" Chase nodded his head yes, and Paleclaw then got started on explaining their motivation. "Apparently, Charm convinced someone to-"

Just then, an explosion was heard near town and Chase started to panic when he saw where it was coming from. He looked to Paleclaw, knowing they would understand the reason for the interruption. "The others are in the beach area of the town! Come on Paleclaw; we've got soldiers to stop!"

Chase rushed off with Paleclaw scoffing before rushing off after Chase, seemingly being annoyed by him taking the leadership role of the two. "Who put YOU in charge!?"

Skye was just attacked with some kind of explosion, and as the dust cleared, she coughed while laying on the ground. As she was getting proper vision of the situation, one of Charm's elite guard's pinned the Cockapoo down with her foot and got ready to start crushing her. "Too bad you weren't a Doberman or a Rottweiler. At least then you'd put up-"

The soldier suddenly got shot in the head, and Richie was there right behind her as he ran up to Skye. As he helped her up, she struggled to stand, wincing as she tried to stand. Richie observed and instantly caught sight of the problem. "Your left hind leg must've been sprained in the explosion."

"That's what it feels like. Good thing the explosion was a small one too." Richie lifted Skye up and started carrying her, much to her gratitude. "Thanks Richie."

"Not a problem. Katie's nearby and should be ready to patch you up." Richie replied, knowing that Skye would need attention for her sprain.

Ryder was nearby and checked to see if Skye was alright, kicking Trickery to the side as he did. "Skye! Are you alright?"

"I should be. It's just a sprain after all." Skye assured Ryder, looking down at her left hind leg to let him know which one she was talking about. "And Chase has to have heard that explosion, so I can expect him to pick up my slack."

Ryder started to tense up a little over the sight of one of his pup's being injured. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was his friends getting hurt. "The things Charm and his army will do to cause chaos." Ryder offered to take Skye, telling Richie what he wanted him to do as he did. "I'll take care of Skye from here Richie. Your demon half would give you a better chance at surviving against Trickery."

"Ha! That's ironic coming from you, seeing as you're the leader of this team." Richie joked, and then he got back into action as he walked over to where Ryder kicked Trickery to. "Still, I don't care what role you give me so long as Skye's safe." Ryder nodded and headed off with Skye, leaving Richie to rush back into battle.

Trickery was on the beach, which was nearby, and he'd managed to recover quickly from the kick Ryder landed on him after landing on his back. As he looked around for his next opponent however, Richie arrived on the beach and appeared in the Kishu's sight. Trickery grinned devilishly as he spoke up about Richie's timing. "You just can't seem to stop thinking about me. Our bond certainly has grown to be a lasting one."

"And yet I'm still waiting for the day I can cut it off." Richie shot back, and then he dashed at Trickery after taking his sword out and slashed at him.

Trickery dodged Richie's sword swing and attempted to kick him, only for Richie to drop to the ground, roll to the side, and low sweep Trickery. Trickery quickly recovered with a backflip and aimed a spinning slam kick onto Richie, who blocked it with both of his feet. He then took his gun out and shot at the ground, shooting at Trickery's head, only for Trickery to barely dodge in time. Richie then backflipped a couple times and stared Trickery down once he got back up. Richie was determined to do everything it took to stop Trickery from hurting anyone in Adventure Bay.

Katie was still getting footage from the battle on the news, which Rocky and Zuma were then shown to still be watching. Both pups were shocked to see Ryder come on screen while holding Skye. "Sorry to interrupt your report Katie, but Skye's got hurt during the battle. She may need medical attention."

"Say no more." Katie took Skye into her arms to let Ryder get back into action, and she then told her camera guy to let him know that they were done for the day. "We'll have to interview the Paw Patrol for the rest of the report Jeremy."

The camera went off with the news then changing, leaving Rocky and Zuma worried about Skye. Zuma looked to Rocky in the hopes that she was going to be okay. "Do you think Skye's gonna be okay Wocky?"

"I should believe so. Her injuries didn't look TOO serious." Rocky assured Zuma, although, he couldn't deny that he was also worried about Skye. He couldn't help worrying whenever Charm's army attacked Adventure Bay. "Let's hope that's the case." Zuma scooted closer to Rocky in an attempt to comfort him, seeing that this was having a different kind of toll on him. He didn't know why that was, but he still wanted to help. Rocky looked at Zuma and saw him trying to help by putting a paw on his shoulder, which calmed him down a bit. "And that they stop Charm's soldiers."

Zuma started looking for a different show to watch, since they didn't have any means of watching what was going on in Adventure Bay. As he started channel surfing, he took the time to ask Rocky another question about Charm. "Has Chawm been attacking Adventuwe Bay for a while?"

Rocky nodded his head yes, and then he gave a specific answer. "I wanna say... two years. Well, twenty three and a half months more like it."

"Hey, what a coincidence! That's how long you've lived here for!" Zuma pointed out, wanting to find a positive aspect about what was going on. Rocky did see where he was coming from. If only Zuma knew how hard it was to hear that.

Back on the beach, Chase and Paleclaw arrived on the scene to find Richie and Trickery battling on the beach. Having only the knowledge of Charm in regards to his forces, Paleclaw felt it wouldn't hurt to ask about Trickery. "Is that Kishu working for Charm too?"

"Yep. That's his right hand, Trickery." Chase explained, and he continued his explanation as Richie and Trickery continued trading blows. "Apparently he's been raising Charm alongside his parents since he was born." That was about all Chase knew about him. Well, at least out of the stuff he WOULD reveal. "Other than those two facts, I don't have any info on him."

"It's enough for me." Paleclaw assured Chase, and then they got their knife out to get ready to fight. "Ya wanna go in there and slit his throat?"

Chase observed the battle from nearby, and Richie seemed to be holding his own rather well. The sight of him making Trickery jump up to dodge a gunshot to the ground and then dash kicking him further confirmed this. "Richie can usually hold his own in a battle against strong opponents like this. If he starts to struggle, that's when we jump in."

With that being taken note of, Paleclaw looked around for any other guards to take out or interrogate. The only one they could find was sitting by a wall trying to recover. They felt it wouldn't hurt to get at least a small bit of dirt off of him. "I'm gonna talk to that guard over there. Let me know when it's time to jump in."

Chase gave a thumbs up to Paleclaw, and Chase observed to find Trickery retreating near the end of the battle. Chase was glad Richie didn't get too badly hurt, smiling in a way that showed he knew that'd be the outcome. Chase then saw Ryder walking over to him with a patched up Skye. "Skye!" He became horrified when he saw her hurt and it became his primary focus when he ran over to her. "Are you alright!?"

"I will be." Skye assured Chase, feeling that she could still walk on this sprain. "At least I know I can still walk."

"We're holding back on the walking part until we get back to the Lookout." Ryder informed Chase, who couldn't help worrying about Skye's current predicament. Even though she wasn't too badly injured, he still hated it whenever she got hurt.

Paleclaw was talking to the last guard who was on the scene, holding their knife up to his neck to get the info they wanted out of him. They were quite aggressive when asking him too, as if they were starting to run out of patience. "I'm not asking you again buddy! Tell me where Charm's base now!"

"It's in Prison City!" The guard shouted fearfully, and then when Paleclaw sensed Trickery's presence, they dove out of the way as he threw a card at the terrified guard. Paleclaw watched the guard die from nearby, and then Trickery picked him up.

Paleclaw wasn't fazed by what they'd just seen, but Trickery's next words did alarm them. "This wasn't an attemptto take over Adventure Bay. Merely a test of skill." Trickery then turned to Paleclaw, who got ready for in case he decided to battle them. "I'd recommend staying away from Charm if you value your life. He won't let you live otherwise."

After Trickery vanished, Paleclaw knew they had to let the Paw Patrol know about what they'd just learned. Seeing them right where Chase was before they went over to that soldier, and feeling that this information would be of value to them, they ran over to them in a hurry. "Hey guys, wait up!"

Back at the Lookout, Rocky and Zuma were watching Tv as they waited for the others to get back from the battle. Both were glad to see that their friends were okay, and Zuma quickly spoke up at the sight of them. "You'we back! Is Skye's leg okay?"

"It should be if she's soft enough on it so it can heal properly." Ryder assured Zuma, and then he set Skye down gently on the couch next to Zuma.

"That's right. So for the time being, I'll have to cut back on the back flips." Skye responded, and then she let out a yip to show that she wasn't too upset about it.

Zuma then noticed Paleclaw, and when they walked up to him, he was quick to show how happy he was to see them. "Paleclaw! I didn't think you'd be in the battle! What made you join in!?"

Paleclaw knew they couldn't lie to Zuma. It just wouldn't be right. He already knew who Charm was too, so it wouldn't be good for him. He sat up on the couch arm Skye was sitting next to as he answered. "You know the one I told you about? The one who helped me recently?"

"Well... not weally. We didn't meet him in pweson." Zuma reminded Paleclaw, and as Paleclaw gave a small laugh in response, Zuma caught onto what Paleclaw was saying. "Was your fwiend huwt!?" Paleclaw nodded his head yes in response, and Zuma instantly wanted to help. "How bad is it? Maybe we can help him!"

"It's too bad for that Zuma." Paleclaw informed Zuma, and they elaborated once Zuma realized what that meant. The shock in Zuma's eyes was enough for Paleclaw to confirm it. "It crushed me to see them go lifeless." Paleclaw flashbacked to when their friend died, and they spoke up about their condition, knowing that Zuma could handle it. "They were covered in their own blood. It was dripping from one wound." Paleclaw was shown to be crying in the flashback. It was clear that this person meant a lot to them. "They were the first friend I'd made since you Zuma."

Rocky showed immense remorse for what happened to Paleclaw. He tried to hide any obvious emotions as he empathized with them. He knew all too well how horrible this was to deal with. "I'm so sorry Paleclaw. I know what it's like to lose someone in such a horrific way. No one deserves that."

Paleclaw appreciated that sentiment; however, when Zuma went to comfort them, they put their paw up to signal him to stop. "They told me one thing before they died. And it's what's motivating me to go after Charm." The others listened closely as Paleclaw held back his tears to say what he had to say clearly. "Live your life... in the best way... you see fit." That had more meaning to Paleclaw than final words however, and they explained why then and there. "That was also the first piece of advice they gave me. It's how I finally started living as my own canine."

Rocky and Zuma both empathized with Paleclaw there, since they both knew how it felt to have a loved one taken out of your life. Chase chimed in after he knew Paleclaw was done and gave them some advice for the future. "I won't tell you what you should do with your life Paleclaw." Paleclaw looked at Chase, who finished the advice he had for him. "What I WILL tell you is to know when to do what. If you feel that you're making the wrong call, don't hesitate to back out of it if you have a choice."

Paleclaw knew Chase was trying to help them, but they felt that the decision they were making was the right one. "Thanks Chase, but I've already made up my mind. Charm is gonna die from my own two paws."

Paleclaw clenching their paws hit Rocky's nerves, and he tried to hide his emotions again. Zuma noticed just in time however, and he decided to ask about it. "What's wrong Wocky?" Rocky flinched when Zuma asked him that. He knew he'd have to explain at least one part of his feelings now. "Did Chawm do something to you too?"

"Technically, yes. But that's not why I feel this way." Rocky struggled at first, but he then mustered the courage to speak up about it. "Charm is..." And when he did, he knew there was no turning back. "Charm is my younger brother."

Zuma and Paleclaw were shocked to learn that Rocky was related to a psychopath. Zuma had to ask if he heard that right. "Your bwother?"

"Yeah, you heard it right." Rocky assured Zuma, and then he spoke up more about what exactly happened on the day he ran away from home. "Charm's true evil started to show the same day I ran away from home. He was kinda bratty beforehand, but this is when it really started to kick in." Rocky choked as he spoke up about the very action that caused him to leave. "Sometimes, I wish it stayed the way it was before. Instead... it led to Charm killing our mother."

Zuma couldn't fathom the thought of a kid killing their own mother; it just didn't sit right with him. Paleclaw had to ask about this, since Zuma called out his fear of the thought of Charm being killed. "If Charm killed your mother, then you should be happy about him dying. Why are you so scared of it?"

That part was a little harder for Rocky to explain, since he didn't have as much context. He hoped that he could at least help Paleclaw understand his perspective on this. "The day he killed our mother... I overheard our father talking to someone about what I think was what caused Charm to become the way he is now. They said something along the lines of, 'He can't hear about it, or else he'll revert back', or something like that. The exact words are pretty shady." Rocky tried to contain himself as he finished what he had to say. "A part of me hopes I can save him someday."

Paleclaw could definitely understand that. They just hoped Rocky knew what he was doing. "Just don't get too caught up in that thought process Rocky. Not every bad person can change for the better. Even if there IS something making them do horrible things."

Rocky was already aware of that, and he nodded to let Paleclaw know. Zuma then became curious about whether or not Paleclaw saw that too. "Did you ever know someone who was like that Paleclaw?"

"No, but I've seen a possible outcome once soon after I left Bloodfreak's gang." Paleclaw informed Zuma, and then they let him know that it wasn't a pretty sight. "Never again."

Ryder then spoke up, assuring Rocky that they would be on the case for helping Charm if possible. "It won't be easy for him to adjust to normal life Rocky, but if there's a means of saving him like you think there is, we'll take it." He then assured Paleclaw that they wouldn't be lost without closure in their quest. "And if that does end up being the case Paleclaw, then we'll help you find closure in a different way."

"Don't think he's forcing you out of true happiness either." Richie informed Paleclaw, seeing that they were skeptical about all of this. "He taught me firsthand once that the first path to closure doesn't have to be the definitive one." Ryder and Richie then fist bumped as the two smiled in response to that memory. "And that's what led to me adopting Rocky."

Paleclaw looked at Rocky, who was still shaken from the experience. With that example, Paleclaw got what the others were saying. "Good to know." Paleclaw then looked down at their knife, knowing that there was a lot to pack into this moment. "Just don't be surprised if I succeed in my mission." Zuma didn't know what to take from this moment. Should he support the idea of Charm dying, or support Rocky's desire to help him? He had no idea what to do.

Zuma was still unpacking everything he'd just learned after dinner while he was helping Paleclaw pack some leftover meatloaf in the kitchen. Zuma still wasn't sure what was going to happen, and he hoped Paleclaw had a good idea as to where he was going to go. "Now that your fwiend is dead Paleclaw, where do you think you'll go now?"

"That Calm-Ten place you told me about over dinner should be nice for a while." Paleclaw answered, knowing that they couldn't go after Charm ill-prepared. "I've got a lot to prepare for if I'm gonna go after Charm again. I'll be lucky to even slash at his paw with my current state." Zuma and Paleclaw finished wrapping up the meatloaf, which was in this container of perfect temperature balance Ryder gave to the latter. "Anyway, thanks for the help Zuma. I'll visit if I can."

Paleclaw was starting to make their leave, and Zuma spoke up in an attempt to get something of his chest. "Paleclaw, wait!" Paleclaw looked back at Zuma, who hoped he wouldn't come off as insensitive when he said this. "If we meet again in the futuwe, and we have a plan that can save Chawm... would you be open to it?"

Paleclaw should've seen that one coming from a mile away. They knew Zuma wanted Rocky's feelings to remain unharmed. Thankfully, they didn't have to lie to him in regards to this. "It most likely won't help me forgive him, but I saw how much the idea meant to Rocky." Paleclaw looked onward and let Zuma know what their limits on that were. "Just hope you all know what you're doing by then." Paleclaw then left the Lookout after saving to Zuma, who waved back as they left the Lookout door. Zuma was glad that Paleclaw was at least open to other options.

Chase was coming into the kitchen as Zuma got himself a soda, going over to the fridge to get one himself as he started a conversation with the Chocolate Labrador. "So. I guess you know about our biggest enemy now."

Zuma nodded his head yes after getting a pineapple soda, and as he cracked it open, he stated what he thought about it. "I just hope Wocky's doing okay. I can't imagine having someone in my family as an enemy."

"Tell me about it." Chase grabbed himself a blue raspberry soda before closing the fridge door with a butt bump. He then gave his own two cents on the situation. "Rocky told us about Charm about six months ago. That was the first time his minions came to Adventure Bay." Zuma was drinking his soda as he heard that, finding that Rocky must feel horrible with all of this. "I don't blame him for wanting to help Charm."

Zuma hoped that they could help Charm too. He just wish he knew how. He didn't exactly know Charm outside of knowledge from the others. "Do you think it's possible?"

"I'm not the best pup to ask, but if what Rocky said about what he heard was true, then it might be." Chase answered, and then he rubbed Zuma's head as a means of trying to comfort him about the situation. "No need to worry Zuma. Rocky will be okay. And he's always ready to talk to those who know about this." Zuma was glad to know that at least, since it meant he could help Rocky through this tough time. He and Chase then walked off together as the screen faded to black, ending the episode off.
