PPX: Zuma's First Month
Chapter eighteen: An Exciting Event Without Any Torment
On day twenty six of Zuma's life in Adventure Bay, Chase and Zuma had a small table set up outside with Rocky and Skye watching in anticipation. The two of them sat across from each other on their own stools as Zuma asked about the rules again. "So we just put our awms down on the table, and push each othew's awm until we slam it onto the table?"
"That's the long and short of it, yeah." Chase confirmed, putting his arm up with a confident grin as he stared Zuma down. "Let's see how strong you are against the Paw Patrol's second in command."
"Just don't push me like you did duwing our wace."
"That was stupid, but I did it to test your tenacity."
"Yeah. That's called poor timing." Rocky chimed in while looking at Chase, and then he started counting down. As he did, Chase and Zuma put their arms down and grabbed each other's paws. "Three... two... one... go!" Chase and Zuma started pushing each others arms with Chase being impressed by Zuma's strength. He was still winning, but he could tell that Zuma wasn't sitting around and waiting after his parents were taken from him.
Zuma noticed Chase smirk as he started to lose the match. Despite Zuma giving it his all, he just couldn't keep up with Chase's strength. He was clearly the second in command for the Paw Patrol for good reason. Still, Chase couldn't resist what he was doing next. And since he was winning, he didn't have to use it as a clutch. When Zuma was a smidge closer to having his arm slammed on the table, Chase scrunched his face and released...
PFFFFFFFFFFT
...a loud and ripe five second fart that made his butt vibrate as a green cloud of burnt bacon left it. This made Zuma flinch, but didn't surprise him much, as he expected this from a gasbag like Chase. Skye and Rocky had to cover their noses when wafting the fart away however, and then Chase continued to fart as Zuma's arm kept resisting the loss...
PHHT BRUP BRAT BLARP PFFT
...After the sixth fart, Zuma lost the game; not because of Chase's farting, but because Chase was just that strong. Just then, Chase pumped his fist before climbing up onto the table. "Yes! Consider yourself lucky for your strong stomach Zuma!" Zuma seemed confused before Chase stood upon the table on his hind legs and pointed his butt at Zuma's face. As soon as Zuma realized what was going to happen, Chase hit him with...
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP
...a ripe and bassy ten second fart that unleashed a yellow cloud of rotten eggs from Chase's vibrating butt. At the end of the fart, Zuma ended up falling out of his stool while gagging and wafting the fart away. Chase couldn't help laughing and taunting Zuma playfully as three more farts left his rear end. "That's (PHHT) my (PFFT) game (BLARP) Zuma!"
Chase laughed a bit more with Zuma rubbing his nose and wafting the fart away again as he questioned Chase's move there. "Not that I mind fawts Chase, but why did you do that?"
"Victory fart." Chase answered, leaving Zuma to raise an eyebrow and give a confused bark. Thankfully, Chase was more than happy to explain it to him. "Since I beat you at the arm wrestling challenge," Skye and Rocky were also shown clearing out the fart scent with Skye's air freshener. "my butt got to hit you in the face with it's latest bomb." Rocky gave a thumbs up in approval, making Skye smile.
Zuma had a good understanding of this now and started to like the concept. "So if I beat you at something, I get to fawt in your face?"
"Be my guest." Chase answered, showing that he was able to take victory farts as well as he could dish them out. "You're really good at Pup Pup Boogie. Maybe that can be a good opportunity."
Zuma liked the sound of that with Skye and Rocky walking over to them as the former spoke up. "As much as I love my friends and I boogying like there's no tomorrow, this is all we had time for."
Rocky then got excited for what Skye was referring to. "Oh, Zuma! You'll love what we're helping out with in town!" Zuma definitely hoped so. Rocky's reaction said it was good.
There was a lot of decorating and festivities being set up in the main plaza of Adventure Bay. This was only the start, but from the games being set up, to the petting zoo, to even some very unique decorations, one could tell how much effort was being put into this. That was always the case for Adventure Bay when it came to important events. Zuma looked around to see what he could do to help, and couldn't resist admiring the decorations. The sight of the Gay Pride flag allured him.
It was a very colorful flag too. It had eight colors consisting of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. He'd never seen it up close before, which he couldn't believe since it represented a part of who he was. Skye was walking up to Zuma as she caught his attention. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"
"It suwe is." Zuma answered, and then he went ahead to ask about the festival that was being set up. "So you guys do this evewy June?"
"That's right!" Skye stated happily, looking over to a banner she set up that said 'Happy Pride Month!' on it. "The Pride Month carnival goes on for five days from June 3rd to June 7th. It's to show everyone in the LGBT community who lives in Adventure Bay that we support them."
That description helped Zuma feel more at home than he already did in Adventure Bay. He spent so long looking for a loving home, and now he learned of a special event they do for Pride Month? That was the last call he needed to know he was truly accepted. It was especially relieving after all he'd been through. He knew there were some people out there who didn't accept those like him. And during his time on his own, he had to have noticed at least one moment like that. Skye smiled when she noticed how happy and validated he felt in the moment.
As Zuma looked around however, he saw something that made him worried: Nicky looking at Rocky from afar. Skye saw how worried Zuma looked, and when she saw Nicky, she tried to assure him that she and the others wouldn't let him do anything to Rocky. "He's not gonna hurt Rocky again Zuma. We won't let him anywhere close to him."
"You guys being there hasn't stopped him befowe." Zuma pointed out, and then he walked over to Nicky with Skye coming with him to make sure things didn't get too heated. When Zuma walked up to Nicky, he made it very clear that he was ready to protect Rocky from him. "Eyeing your ex again Nicky?"
Nicky flinched upon hearing Zuma's voice and looked to see his stern look. Skye stood strong as well, and Nicky focused all of his sights onto Zuma as he spoke up. "It's not what you think Zuma. I'm just trying to figure out how to move on."
Zuma didn't trust Nicky one bit after what he learned about him, and the fact that hurt Rocky for so long. Still, he tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, knowing it wouldn't help to cause a scene. "Then you'd better stay away fwom him. I won't tell you twice."
"You don't even have to tell me once!" Nicky exclaimed, and Zuma stood strong as Nicky looked like he was about to get in his face. "And I don't plan on leaving if that's what you want me to do. Don't forget, this festival is held for me as well. I'm Gay too. So you'll see me tomorrow when the festival is all set up."
"Seeing you at the festival isn't what I have a pwoblem with." Zuma responded, making it very clear what he wanted from Rocky. "Just stay away fwom Wocky, and we won't have any pwoblems. The last thing he needs tomowwow is a weminder of the kind of pup he used to date." Nicky flipped Zuma off before walking away, leaving Zuma to groan as he complained about him to Skye. "I can't stand him!"
Skye put a paw on Zuma's shoulder to help him feel better about the confrontation. "We'll keep an eye on him during the festival Zuma. I don't think Chase is willing to risk Nicky getting within ten feet of Rocky."
Zuma sighed with relief after hearing Skye's reassuring words. As long as Rocky was safe, he'd be happy. He did have something to ask regarding the Paw Patrol however. "That weminds me." Zuma looked to Skye with a sly grin as he suggested something. "Did it ever occuw to one of you to kick his butt yourselves?"
Skye giggled a bit, having to admit that the thought was quite tempting at times. "Definitely. And I know we'd be able to do it easily." Zuma was glad to hear that, and Skye then clarified something else as she and Zuma walked off. "Just don't let that get to your head. Chase, Ryder, and I may kick bad guy butt on an at least monthly basis, but we aren't unstoppable."
"Dully noted." Zuma assured Skye, laughing a bit with her before working to decide what he would do to help with the festival.
Zuma noticed that Rocky helping with putting a stage together and walked over to him to see if he could help. He wasn't sure what he could do, but he felt it wouldn't hurt to ask. Plus, it meant he'd get to spend even more time with Rocky. "Hey Wocky. You want any help with this stage?"
Rocky was always happy to spend some more time with Zuma, whether it was for fun, or for help. "That'd be great! I could definitely use some help putting these speakers up." Rocky and Zuma got to work on the first speaker Rocky hadn't set up yet; that being the one for the top right corner. "Just hold this ladder for me so I can put the speaker in without falling off."
Zuma gave a salute before Rocky started going up the speaker, and then he held the ladder tightly so Rocky could put the speaker in. Zuma got a good look at Rocky's butt as he saw him putting the speaker in. He didn't realize how good it looked until recently. He almost lost focus on holding the ladder before shaking his head to get back into concentration. 'Focus Zuma, focus!' Zuma went back to holding the ladder, but got another peak at Rocky's butt before doing so. When Rocky came back down, he spoke up. "So. A festival dedicated to Pwide Month."
"I know. It felt kinda weird at first, but then it felt so warm." Rocky replied, and as he and Zuma went over to the next speaker, he elaborated on the first part of what he said. "It never occurred to me until my first Pride Month festival started that I loved the idea of the town I lived in showing how much they accepted and supported me. It made it so much easier to come out to our friends when I discovered that-"
Rocky stopped talking, and instead gained an anxious and hurt look in his eyes, which concerned Zuma. He wasn't sure what caused Rocky to stop talking at first, but then he remembered that Nicky was also at the festival. He hoped it wouldn't hurt to ask if this had anything to do with him. "Was that the night you and Nicky stawted..." Rocky started climbing up the ladder as Zuma tried to find the best way to word what he was saying. "Ya know."
Rocky stopped at the top of the ladder so he could answer Zuma's question without being distracted. "Yes. I discovered that I'm Gay on the same day I started dating Nicky." Rocky got to work on the speaker as he spoke up some more about the event. "Not the best pup to discover that from, I know."
"At least you had an easy time coming out." Zuma said in an attempt to comfort Rocky. As Rocky continued working on the speaker, Zuma elaborated on what he was trying to say. "As awful as Nicky was to you, I bet you felt amazing when our fwiends accepted you without a second thought."
Rocky did feel good about that part at least. As flawed as the timing was, he always had positive memories of it being confirmed that he was accepted. "The only people who'd know what that's like are... other accepted members of the community." Zuma listened to what Rocky was saying as the mix continued working on the speaker while venting about homophobia. "Some people just can't accept us for who we are Zuma; and it sucks. Rather than at least trying to understand us, they'd wish we never existed as if being straight was the only good outcome."
Rocky finished his work on the speaker with Zuma stating how confident he was about Adventure Bay treating him and Rocky right. "I think we'll be okay here Wocky. Just one look at what this town is doing makes me believe that."
"I believe it too Zuma." Rocky assured Zuma, heading off the stage with him to indicate that his stage work was complete for now. "It's just hard to stop thinking about the bad stuff sometimes."
Zuma looked around at the festival activities and decided to see if anyone else needed help. He also felt it'd help keep Rocky busy from his current thoughts. "Wanna see if anyone else in Adventuwe Bay needs a paw?" Rocky liked the sound of that and nodded yes in response, heading off with Zuma to see how else they could help.
Chase was making sure the party games were set up in the exact right spot as Skye ran over to him with two vests. They were both different colors, and she happily showed them to Chase once he was done getting the ring toss game set up right. "Hi Chase! Check out these vests I sewed for this year's festival!"
Chase got a good look at the vests and was impressed by the craftsmanship, and the representation. One of them was the color of a Heterosexual LGBT support flag with black and white stripes. And the other one was the color of a Bisexual Pride flag with pink and royal blue stripes, and a purple stripe right down the middle. "Wow. You really knocked yourself out with these Skye."
"Thanks. It took a few weeks of private time to get them all made, even with Katie's help, but it was worth it." Skye revealed, and then she told Chase something else about the vests. "I even had the time to make two Gay pride vests for Rocky and Zuma. I was hoping to show them after the daily festival preparations were all set up."
"I'm sure they'd love that." Chase then showed curiosity regarding the Bisexual pride vest. He knew it wasn't for Skye, which only meant one thing. "Is the BI vest for me?" Skye nodded her head yes with Chase trying to figure out when Skye could've caught onto him liking both genders. "Funny. I didn't think I was giving any obvious hints."
"I overheard you come out to Ryder after Valentine's Day." Skye revealed, and Chase then accepted the Bisexual pride vest as she put on hers. She did have one request for him when it came to wearing it though. "And please, try not to fart too much during the festival. We can only clean up so much of your nasty odors as is."
Chase laughed a bit before assuring Skye he wouldn't have to worry about that. "Not to worry Skye. I'll at least try to make this an explosion free event." Skye appreciated that and smiled to show it. Chase then saw a chance to spend some time with Skye and took the opportunity. "You wanna help me make sure the water gun game is working fine?"
"Water gun fight? That sounds like a lot of fun!" Chase loved Skye's response, and the two started running towards the water guns to get started on this task.
Later that night, Zuma and the other pups were playing Pup Pup Boogie with Chase and Zuma in the middle of a very long match. They were pretty close to each other, and neither of them were giving up. Rocky was cheering for Zuma, obviously, and Skye was cheering for Chase, also obviously. And the match could go either way. Zuma's expert dance moves kicked in however, and he managed to defeat Chase with the time running out, and him having the best score. Zuma couldn't be more stoked to have won. "Yes! I'm the slick move king baby!"
The other three laughed a bit with Chase congratulating Zuma on his victory. He was also preparing himself for something he and Zuma agreed on that morning. "Well played Zuma. Now I think we both know what happens next."
Zuma was more than happy for it too, patting his belly, which growled as he got it ready for what he was about to do. "You better believe it." Zuma turned around and pointed his butt at Chase, who braced himself as Zuma unleashed...
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
...a ripe and loud ten second fart that hit Chase with a green cloud of spoiled meat and cheese from the pizza he had for dinner, and his butt vibrating from the release. Skye and Rocky once again covered their noses while wafting the fart away, and Zuma expressed to Chase how fun that was. He didn't even mind that Chase was calmly wafting the fart away himself. "You were wight Chase. That IS fun."
Chase gave a thumbs up with the fan turning on before Ryder came over to the pups. "Childish victory celebrations aside..." Ryder signaled Chase and Zuma to come over to the couch, where he sat down next to them all on after Chase and Zuma jumped up. "You all did a great job helping with the Pride Month carnival today. At this rate, we'll guarantee another successful carnival for everyone in Adventure Bay."
Zuma got an idea and hoped it wouldn't hurt to make this request on such short notice. "Oh; Wyder! I just thought of something." Ryder looked to Zuma, who showed him a number he had on his Pup-Phone as he explained what he had in mind. "Paleclaw gave me their number after saving me fwom Nicky. Since they'we Non-binawy, they'd feel wight at home duwing the cawnival!"
Ryder saw where Zuma was coming from, and he, like the others, took a liking to the idea. He saw no problem in accepting Zuma's request. "That's a great idea Zuma. I'm sure Paleclaw could also use a break from what they've been doing for this past while."
"That sure sounds familiar." Rocky joked innocently, making Zuma laugh a bit, since he knew it was gestured towards him.
Zuma started calling Paleclaw, hoping they weren't asleep at this time. "Fingews cwossed this isn't a bad time for them."
Paleclaw was playing five finger fillet with their knife in a somewhat poor looking apartment when they heard their phone ring upon Zuma's call. They put their knife down and picked up their phone, smiling to find that it was Zuma who called them. They answered the phone and started the conversation. "Hey there Zuma. How ya holding up?"
"I'm doing pwetty well Paleclaw, thanks." Zuma answered happily, glad he didn't catch them at a bad mind. "How're you doing?"
"Better than Nicky after your butt shot him through that wall." Paleclaw responded, making Zuma laugh in response with Paleclaw then letting him explain why he called.
Zuma cleared his throat and got to telling Paleclaw why he called them when he did. "Anyway. Adventuwe Bay is thwowing a Pwide Month cawnival, and I was wondering if you wanted to come have a fun time with us."
Paleclaw did like the idea of attending a carnival. And the fact that it celebrated the LGBT community was a big plus. Yeah, they would be more than happy to come. "That sounds great. I've been thinking of making an excuse to come to Adventure Bay beyond seeing you."
"Awesome! The cawnival stawts tomorrow, and ends on June 7th." Zuma informed Paleclaw, ecstatic that his only friend from Bloodfreak's gang was willing to attend the carnival. "Just you wait. They have games with pwizes, food, wides, and we even get to wear cool vests!" Zuma then looked to Skye while covering the phone as Paleclaw thought about that. "Do you have a Non-binawy vest for Paleclaw?"
"No, sorry Zuma." Skye apologized, wishing she could've predicted Paleclaw attending the carnival before the call.
"It's cool. It was kinda last minute." Zuma said before getting back to talking to Paleclaw. "I just checked in with Skye, and we don't have one for you, but they're still weally cool."
Paleclaw didn't see a problem with not getting a vest of their own. As long as they got to see Zuma and his friends, that was enough. "I think I'll still be able to enjoy myself. I'll come over to the Lookout tomorrow and we can head on over together."
"Sounds like a plan to me." Zuma replied, being more than ready to show Paleclaw a good time. "We'll see you tomorrow mowning!"
"You got it." Paleclaw responded, picking their knife back up to continue their five finger fillet. "I'll see you then. Bye Zuma."
"Later Paleclaw." Zuma and Paleclaw hung up with Zuma happily informing his friends of their acceptance. "Guys, Paleclaw's coming! They should be here tomorrow after we finish bweakfast!"
The others were glad to hear that with Rocky stating one positive thing he was glad could be a possibility. "It would be more than satisfactory to get to know Paleclaw on a more personal level."
Zuma loved the idea of his new friends and old friends getting to know each other. He was kind of surprised Paleclaw didn't get any opportunities for that yet. Ryder then brought up something else the group should keep in mind that applied to Zuma as well. "About the food thing Zuma, does Paleclaw have any allergies we have to watch out for?"
Zuma thought about that for a moment and couldn't think of anything Paleclaw was allergic to. Knowing this was important thanks to his peanut allergy, he was prepared to get on the case so Paleclaw avoided an allergic reaction. "Nothing I can think of wight now. I'll ask him tomorrow."
"Okay good. The last thing we need is another Anaphylactic shock." Ryder reminded the pups, who still had Zuma's allergic reactions living in their minds rent free. Hopefully they could avoid Zuma getting that close to death over food again.
After breakfast on day twenty seven of Zuma's life in Adventure Bay, it was the first day of the carnival, and Zuma and the others were heading to the carnival with Paleclaw. Rocky, Zuma, Chase, and Skye were all wearing the vests Skye designed for them. After they got out, Zuma remembered what he forgot to ask Paleclaw at the Lookout. "Oh; Paleclaw, before I fowget. Do you have any food allewgies we should be wary of?"
Paleclaw tried to think of any allergies they had, finding himself unable to think of one at that point in time. "Nope. None that I can think of."
"Okay good." Zuma responded with relief, and he and Paleclaw headed into the carnival with the others. Little did they know however that Nicky was watching from nearby, doing his best to avoid being noticed by any of them. "You'll have to keep me fwom peanuts by the way. One bite of those, and the only wide I'll be going on is Katie's vet."
Nicky had his sights set on Zuma, and was surprised to find Paleclaw there with him. Their presence was going to make this harder, so he called into someone through an earpiece. "The White Shepherd who killed Bob is with them. This is going to be harder than we thought." Nicky allowed the voice over the phone to speak, being annoyed by their request. "I don't care what you do with the others; just make sure I get Rocky, and that we hurt Zuma." Nicky hung up then and there before heading off to keep spying.
Zuma and the others were still looking around to see what they could go on first. Skye had her sights set on the carousel as soon as she and the others passed by it. "Yes! The carousel's still here!"
"It sure is Skye." Rocky chimed in, nudging Chase to signal him for a chance to get closer with Skye. "Just like how some people willfully share a horse."
Chase caught onto Rocky's hint and walked up to Skye after clearing his throat. "We could try that Skye. If you wanted to anyway. And I swear I won't fart on the horse you choose."
Skye giggled a bit, finding the idea of riding a horse with Chase very appealing. "As long as we both enjoy the ride." Chase and Skye headed off with Zuma offering Rocky a fist bump, which he happily accepted. It may be an Pride Month carnival, but that didn't mean straight couples couldn't develop too.
The others headed off to do their own thing with Ryder going to make sure Chase and Skye had someone watching them. "Wait up you two!"
Chase and Skye had just gotten up to the carousel, where Chase was allowing Skye to select the horse they rode on. Skye loved the look of the one that looked a lot like a unicorn and yipped happily when she found it. "This is the one!"
Skye jumped up to the horse with Chase hopping up as well. "Unicorn it is. I've always wanted to be in a fantasy movie." Skye giggled a bit at Chase's joke as he finished climbing onto the carousel horse. He sat behind Skye, who held on tightly to the pole. Chase put his paws on the back of the horse, unsure if Skye would want him using her as a holding post.
The ride started, and Chase and Skye were both enjoying themselves as the horses started moving. Both of them were smiling, but Skye noticed Chase being a little less comfortable than her when she looked back at him. She took an opportunity to do something she hoped he'd be comfortable with. "You can hold onto me if you want."
Chase hid his immense joy from the offer and wrapped his arms around Skye while thanking her. "Thanks."
"No problem." Skye replied, loving the feel of Chase's paws around her waist. As the carousel kept moving, the two of them laughed playfully while enjoying each other's company. They only wished they were able to confess their feelings for each other. They've known each other for three and a half years now, and knew each other well enough to do so. However, what Skye did next could prove that to not be the best moment for it after all...
PFFFFFFFFFFT
...Skye unintentionally released a ripe five second fart, and her butt vibrated as a green cloud of burnt sausages left it. They were both surprised by this, and Chase smirked as he called Skye out for her little outburst. "Next time, let's both swear that we won't fart on the horse." Skye giggled a bit with her blush confirming that she agreed with Chase on that one.
Meanwhile, Rocky, Zuma, and Paleclaw were looking around with Richie to see what they could do to enjoy themselves. Zuma was amazed by all of the rides that were present at the carnival. There was a tilt-a-whirl, a roller coaster, bumper cars, it seemed to have it all. It all looked so cool; if only he knew which one to go on first. "Alwight dudes. We have the entiwe day to do whatever we want at this cawnival. What do we do first?"
"Knowing you, you're gonna wanna take on that roller coaster." Rocky responded, leaving Zuma to grin and nod yes in response himself.
Paleclaw did find that the roller coaster had it's appeal, but they also knew it would be unwise to peak on the first day of the carnival. "Let's start off small for our first day. Best to start small and build up to ending with a bang."
"That makes sense." Rocky replied, wondering what they could do in place of the roller coaster. "There's plenty of stuff all of us can do together."
Richie set his sights on the bumper cars, being ready to bring the three pups over there as well. "Let's go for the bumper cars. I think we'll all have a blast there."
Rocky, Zuma, and Paleclaw smiled to each other while nodding and headed on over to the bumper cars with Richie. After Richie used tickets for all four of them, they all picked out their bumper cars with Zuma asking Rocky about the game. He had a pretty good idea of what to do thanks to the name of the game. "So am I supposed to just wam into the other dwivers until I win?"
"Not exactly. You just ram into them for fun." Rocky answered upon getting into his car. Zuma did the same as the countdown began. "Trust me. It's a lot of fun, with or without points."
When the game started, Zuma and all the other players started ramming into each other, and Zuma's first target was Paleclaw. He managed to ram into them successfully and send them into Richie's path, getting them rammed again. Paleclaw smirked at the sight of this and went for Zuma, who made one of the human children his next target. After hitting him successfully, Paleclaw rammed into him, just as Rocky rammed into Richie. Richie then rammed him back before going for another human player, ramming right into her car at full force.
Zuma was having the time of his life, ramming into Rocky and sending him back while laughing. He then swerved out of the way when Richie came for him, causing him to ram into Paleclaw instead. Zuma pretended to honk the horn on his bumper car to add to the excitement. "This is totally awesome dudes!" Rocky then rammed into Zuma, who set his sights for him and drove at him at max speed. This led to him being sent into another human player, who got sent into the wall.
Zuma, Rocky, Palelcaw, and Richie continued ramming into each other, along with the other players, up until the timer hit zero. The game ended there, and once it did, Zuma ran up to Rocky after both of them got out of their seats as he expressed how much fun he had. "That was so cool! And this is gonna be here for five days!?"
"That's right!" Rocky exclaimed, being as happy as could be that Zuma was having a good time. "And just wait until you see the rest of what we have to do here!" Zuma couldn't wait to see what Rocky was talking about. He just knew it was gonna be awesome.
Zuma and the others were at the food court later that day as Zuma was expressing how much fun the LGBT carnival was. "And then I got a super cool pwize fwom spwaying enough water into the clown's mouth!" Zuma showed the group a dolphin plushie to show what he won. "They even let me pick the pwize!"
"Aw, it's so cuuute!" Skye gushed when looking at Zuma's dolphin plushie. Zuma laughed a bit as Skye then addressed Paleclaw to see how they were doing. "What about you Paleclaw? Have you been enjoying the carnival so far?"
"Yeah; it's been great!" Paleclaw exclaimed, glad that they finally got to have a fun day after what happened to their former owner. "I've been hoping for an excuse to get to know Zuma's new friends, and this seemed like the perfect chance to do it."
Chase smirked as he then bluntly as he then warned Paleclaw of something else they'd be learning about him later on. "Just brace yourself when I finish this chili cheese dog right here."
Skye scooted a bit away from Chase after flinching from that, leaving Paleclaw to point out how they already knew that about Chase. "Yeah. I think the time you beef stewed that bear is enough proof of that."
Little did Zuma and the others know that Nicky was listening from nearby as Ryder spoke up. "You should still have plenty of time to get to know us Paleclaw. There's four more days of this carnival to come."
"If you're secretly asking me to be your bodyguard, then I humbly accept." Paleclaw joked, causing the others to laugh with Nicky keeping a close eye on them. He knew of their skill, and he couldn't make any poorly planned out choices around them.
A town covered in fog was shown with a sign stating 'Foggybottom' at the front tilting a bit due to lackluster craftsmanship. A blonde man with a mustache wearing a blue dress jacket over a white dress shirt, purple dress pants, brown loafers, and a blue top hat was grooming one of his cats, one with a similar fur pallet to Chase, inside of a secret lair when he got a call. He answered it, hoping that it was important. "Hello Nicky. Is this about your plan?"
Nicky was shown on the other end as he was revealed to be spying on Zuma and the others in the bathroom. "What else would it be about? Look Mayor Humdinger. Zuma's White Shepherd friend is with them, and he's an expert at combat; as if the Paw Patrol wasn't already kicking the butts of everyone they fought as is. Do you have anything that's good for stealth or quick and unseen captures?"
Mayor Humdinger looked at his wall of gadgets, all of which came with their own purposes. He had to have at least one that did what Nicky wanted. As he looked over them, he gave Nicky his current answer. "I'll get back to you on that."
"Well do it quickly. Preferably before the last day at the carnival." Nicky advised Mayor Humdinger, reminding him of their deal. "Don't forget to give me my half of the ransom money after we pull this off." Humdinger started mimicking Nicky before the Doberman hung up and continued watching Zuma and the others. He made it very clear from his glare at Zuma that he wasn't about to let him get away with this. He then set his sights on Rocky with the same glare. Whichever one of them he captured, it wasn't going to be easy for them.
To be continued.
