They turn and start coming for us. And we're up and running before I realise it.
When I reach the container, I know already that he isn't here. Isn't with me.
He dives as they begin their swoop, and my heart is in my throat. The only thing gluing me to the container is Riddick's eyes on me. He could die and I'm just standing here.
Jack is screaming, and glancing over I can see why. Shazza is preparing to make a run for it.
I go to take a step forward, to help and his growl somehow vibrates through me, forcing me to my knees with a whimper. I'm not going anywhere.
Looking up I watch as her body is taken away, still screaming.
He get's up as I do and saunters over, as if nothing happened. I want to be angry with him, but my instincts are going crazy, I have to make sure he's alright.
"Please, I really think we should go inside" Paris is screaming. I can feel his fear without having to look at him. They all ran inside after him, except Fry., but my eyes are glued to his.
Without saying anything, he grabs me as soon as he's within reach, lifting me onto the edge of the container. My hands start wondering across his shoulders, chest, arms looking for any injuries.
But a crushing sound has us all turning to watch the cones littering this planet slowly crumble away. Letting loose a nightmare so terrible.
My hands are gripping his shoulders, fingernails surely digging in but he doesn't complain. My worry floods the bond before I can stop it, that he will leave my side again.
"What is it Riddick? What is it now?" Fry stutters out pretending to be brave, she's not fooling anyone. Her fear permeates the air.
"Like I said, it ain't me you gotta worry about." With that he turns nudging me inside ahead of him, before slamming the door shut, sealing us inside.
Inside the container, they all panic. Fear of the dark, the monsters, the sounds, everything.
All I see is that they're distracted and wasting time, and they're emotions are clambering to distract me.
Pushing everything away, I turn and push him into the wall of the container, my hands wondering everywhere. Checking for any slight cut that those creatures could have inflicted. I'm sure he can feel how frayed my instincts are. I can feel his reassurance as his shined eyes keep watch, and let's me continue my inspection.
"Quiet please everyone" Imam yells out
It definitely got my attention. For a moment, I forgot about everything else. Focused only on him and his safety. This isn't good. There are monsters out there and I worry about a cut he could have gotten. I'm sure Riddick has experienced a lot more than that, and survived.
Everything goes quiet and I can hear it. Outside. The clicking and banging. Oh right, monsters.
I lean back into him, not wanting to show such weakness but, I couldn't stop myself. I needed him, his comfort. What only he could provide.
"Why do they do that? Make that sound" jack
"Perhaps it's the way they see, the sound…" (imam) the creature interrupted him causing us all to spin around.
It was behind us, down the corridor, the whole time.
I gripped the back of his shirt as I closed my eyes, extending my senses past us into the dark. Everything else melted away as my mind felt further and further along.
I could feel everything.
The shape of the container, the luggage knocked over and spread out everywhere, the sand outside, the slight movement of some creatures moving underground in the tunnels, coming up and out, and flying around outside.
More importantly I could feel the creatures inside the container with us.
The sound of yelling and arguing, ripped me back into the present. With a gasp I stumbled straight into his arms.
*Riddick*
She zoned out.
Well that's the best explanation he could come up with.
He could feel her mind elsewhere through the bond, and her grip on the back of his shirt.
What was this?
After Johns finished his pissing competition, and the others were distracted yelling at each other, he turned around to see her.
But the racket seemed to snap her out of it.
Right as she snapped back to reality, an image flicked briefly into his mind.
The outline of the container, the cargo, the creatures, and he could feel it all for a split second. Then it all went away and he was left staring into her eyes.
"What was that?" he whispered to her
She just bit her lip, nerves in every line of her body.
