Ruben followed Blake out of the city to a small oasis where he turned to Ruben.

"I notice you use two swords," he said, "an interesting skill, but useless in this situation," Blake told him.

"Alright," Ruben said sheathing one of his two swords on his back he kept the other one ready in his hand.

"Now, with assassination comes the need to be quiet and undetected, I want you to close your eyes for a moment," Blake said.

Ruben slowly closed his eyes and waited,

"Now open them," Blake said.

Ruben opened his eyes to find Blake was missing, he looked all around him, but didn't see the black-clad figure.

"Where'd you go?" Ruben asked.

He felt a hand on his back and Ruben immediately leapt forward, twirling in the air and landing with his sword at the ready.

Blake was standing calmly, his arms at his sides, crouched slightly. He stood up and looked at Ruben.

"Do you understand how this works now?" Blake asked

"No, how did you do that?" Ruben questioned

"This is what I'm going to teach you,"

"Where do we begin?"

"First, crouch low to the ground like so,"

Blake crouched down and Ruben followed his example, their figures blurred.

"Next, you will need to master the art of silent movement,"

Blake moved a few steps closer to Ruben without making a sound. Ruben took a step and he heard the sand crunch beneath his feet.

"I'm sorry, did I just hear a Creeper hiss?" Blake asked.

Ruben growled before taking another step, the sand crunching even louder.

"Zombie groans too? I'm surrounded by monsters it seems, but I don't see them, so they're better assassins than you,"

Ruben shouted as he drew his swords and swung at Blake. The assassin blocked both strikes with ease before leaping back for the follow-up double blow.

"You're letting your anger get the better of you, as an assassin you need to keep your emotions in check,"

"Forget this! I won't stand here and be insulted by you for something you're not teaching me," He stormed back toward the city in a rage.

"I'll be waiting here for when you return," Blake told him.

Ruben didn't respond as he continued to storm back to the city. When he entered through the gate Adam, who was on duty at the time, noticed something was off. He looked to Grrr who was on duty with him, but the wild man just shrugged.

"From what I saw, that assassin was mocking him," Grrr replied.

"I bet that went over well," Adam said as he watched Ruben slam the door to his house.

Ruben collapsed into his bed, dropping his weapons on the floor next to him.

"That was ridiculous! 'do I hear a creeper hissing?" Ruben buried his head in the bed and tried to relax.

Without realizing it Ruben ended up falling asleep, waking up hours later he rolled out of his bed and grabbed his swords, strapping them to his back. He poked his head out and saw it was almost dark. He shut the door behind him and made his way to the gate, seeing Sarah was watching with Samuel he called up to them.

"Did Blake come back yet?"

"No, he's still out there, we're beginning to get worried," Sarah called back down.

Ruben grumbled to himself as he walked up to the gate and hit the switch to open it. He made his way across the darkening desert sands, but before he could reach Blake he heard something. A hissing sound, he instinctively ducked down and looked around, spotting a creeper a few blocks away.

"Ok Ruben, quietly," he said to himself as he took a step, the sand crunched beneath his feet and the creeper turned in his direction.

He stopped dead in his tracks and waited, the creature seemed confused before it turned back around and walked a short distance. Ruben took that as a sign to try again, he took another step and this time it didn't crunch, he realized that if he didn't think about trying to be quiet he actually was. He distracted his mind with thinking about all the mobs that were appearing around him, Zombies, Skeletons, Endermen, he was beginning to get concerned that he and Blake wouldn't make it back, but then before he knew it he was face to face with Blake.

"Well done," He said quietly.

"Here, take this, it'll make the trip back a little easier," Blake handed him one of the potions from his belt.

Ruben looked at the gray liquid and knew it wasn't a poison, downing the concoction he saw his arm disappear, looking down he realized his whole body was now invisible.

"Potions of invisibility, so long as you aren't too loud monsters will ignore you," Blake's voice said to him from somewhere nearby.

"Come on,"

Ruben followed the sound of Blake's voice as they silently made their way back. Once they were at the gate Ruben called up to Sarah to let them in. She was confused at first before Ruben threw an apple up into the air. She nodded and opened the gate, letting the pair inside. Once the doors shut their invisibility wore off and Sarah came sliding down the ladder toward them.

"You have invisibility potions?" She asked Blake.

"I do, do you not?"

"We haven't been able to get our hands on the ingredients," she explained.

"You mean these," he produced a handful of Golden Carrots.

"You have them!" She shouted with glee.

"Yes, here," he took another handful out of his pockets and handed them to Sarah.

"Thank you Blake, this will help us immensely,"

Sarah ran off to go store the ingredients in her house. Blake turned to Ruben and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Not bad for your first day, but we've got some time yet before you'll be ready to face Martin,"

"I'm sorry Blake," he said.

"About what?"

"Earlier, how I got so angry about what you were saying to me,"

Blake grinned, "Don't worry about it, I did it too,"

"Really?"

"Of course! Who likes being called a Creeper? Besides, that's the way all Assassins are trained, including Martin, now that you have some insight into his way of life, you might be able to find a way to defeat him,"

Ruben nodded and Blake removed his arm.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go see about convincing Jack to make a tavern for this place, I could really use a drink,"

Blake wandered off into the night leaving Ruben standing by the gate. He looked down into his hand and smiled.

"Sir Ruben," Samuel said from atop the wall.

"What is it?"

"I see something,"

Ruben's eyes widened as he looked through the bars of the gate. A large dust cloud was approaching, and at its head was a black clad figure on a black charger.

Ruben's heart began to beat faster in his chest, without ever having met the man he knew immediately, that was Martin.
