Reflection on the Glass

It had been a few months since Jane visited Sirius in Azkaban. She spent most of her limited free time searching for ways to prove that Peter had framed Sirius with little luck. It had taken Remus some convincing of the possibility that it was Peter who had betrayed them instead of Sirius. Even now he was still a little skeptical but agreed to help nonetheless.

Jazlyn, on the other hand, still had not told her mother about the strange vision she had at the London Flat. She didn't even know how to. So she did her best to ignore them. Jane had been told about the visit, which she was surprisingly ok with and listened intently as the boys asked questions about all their findings. When they tried to get their sister into trouble for breaking the orrery, Jane simply asked the girl if she was alright and if Sara had managed to fix it, much to the boys dismay.

Jazlyn had not told anyone about the two stars pendant she had found and now kept it hidden away in the back of her Jewelry box. She left it there and tried to forget about it.

Today was the twins' 9th birthday. Jane was down in the kitchen making them a large breakfast feast with the help of Mary Macdonald now Mary Cattermole as she had gotten married a little over a month ago. She had married Reginald Cattermole, who had been a few years older than them at Hogwarts and was a Hufflepuff.

Both Mary and Jane were unaware of the catastrophe brewing upstairs.

9 year old Avalon Potter had a camera ready in her hands. Her brother, Harry, had his hand on the doorknob to Caspian's room and Jazlyn stood in the same position at the door next to him that led to Caelum's room. Remus Lupin stood on the opposite end of the hall with his wand pointed at something mysterious above the two twin doors.

"Alright all of you ready?" Uncle Remus whispered.

The three children nodded eagerly together.

"Go!" He whispered.

Harry and Jazlyn moved in unison into the two rooms.

Jazlyn entered Caelum's room. It was in between Harry's room and his twin Brother's. The wall adjacent to Caspian's had a door that connected the two rooms. His bed was in the middle of the back wall of the room. He had a light blue armchair pushed up against the wall opposite of the connecting door, the backrest of which was also yellow, white, and orange. The bed's headboard matched the chair. He had a desk by his bed. Directly opposite of the connecting door was another door that led to a bathroom. Jazlyn knew that the layout of Caspian's room was the same but inverted. And Caspian's armchair was green and blue and his bed frame was white. She also knew that Caspian's toys would be strewn all over the floor while Caelum had his neatly put away.

Jazlyn closed the door she had come in and opened the door that connected the two boys' rooms. Which was conveniently towards the room's main entrance so she could see when Harry was ready with Caspian. She approached Caelum's bed and shook him awake.

"Go away, Jazzy," Caelum said after peaking an eye open to see who was waking him up. "Not all of us like to wake up when the sun does."

"Come one, Caelum!" She exclaimed. "It's your birthday and we have a surprise for you."

"A surprise?" He said. That peaked his interest and he sat up.

"Mmhmm yeah!" She said then handed him a long cloth. "Here put this on!"

"A blindfold?" He questioned.

"Yeah so you don't see the surprise when it's not ready." She said innocently.

"Well I'll need to change first." He said slowly get out of bed.

"No no!" His sister said, grabbing his arm. "There's no need for that."

"Oh well," he said skeptically. "You're dressed."

He was right of course. Jazzy wore a loose grey skirt and a white long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve loose grey sweater overtop.

"Yeah, because I've been up for hours!" Jazzy said. "You've just woken up. And you won't need to change for your birthday surprise."

It was a good thing he was still half asleep otherwise he would not have fallen for his sister's innocent smile and would've known something was up. But before he could question further. Jazzy wrapped the blind fold around his eyes and waved her hand in front to see if he could see her. Then she placed her hand on his shoulders and pushed him forward. When they got in front of the door, she checked the side door to see if Harry was ready with Caspian.

When Jazzy saw that they were there. She nodded at Harry and together they pulled open their respective doors and pushed her brothers out. Immediately a waterfall of ice cold water crashed down on them. They saw the flash of Avalon's camera just as the boys screamed in shock.

Remus used his wand to send Harry and Jazlyn each broomsticks that he had ready for them to make their escape. Then together him and Avalon ran down the stairs away from the boys.

Jazlyn quickly hopped on her broom and flew over her brothers and the still pouring water. They had finally managed to untangle themselves from their blindfold's just as she and Harry flew over them. Caelum attempted to reach up and grab her. Jazlyn cackled as he slipped.

"Happy birthday!" She taunted and raced after Harry down the stairs.

"Get back here!" The twins hollered.

Harry and Jazlyn passed Remus and Avalon on the stairs when they got to the bottom of the main floor. They jumped off their brooms and tossed them aside as their mother would be more angry at them if they got caught flying in the house.

They ran into the kitchen and sat on the bar in front of Jane.

"Hey mom," Jazzy said, trying to look as innocent as possible even though she was slightly out of breath.

"Need any help?" Harry added, looking just as innocent. Which is to say not at all.

"What did you two do?" Jane said squinting at them.

"Nothing!" They said together.

They heard a thud and a yelp which was followed by laughter and incoherent yelling. Jazlyn held back a snort.

"I suppose 'nothing' has to do with whatever that was." Jane said, raising her eyebrow at them.

Uncle Remus and Avalon walked in. Both of them looked more believably innocent than Harry and Jazlyn combined.

"What happened?" Jane asked Remus sternly. He quirked an eyebrow at her as he picked up a mug of tea and brought it to his lips.

"Not sure," he said then taking a sip. "We came to ask you the same question."

Just then the twins came stumbling in dripping with cold water and shivering. Mary and Jane gasped.

"Are you two alright?" Mary asked, holding back laughter.

"I'm going to ask one. More. Time." Jane said, holding back her temper. She turned her attention back to Harry and Jazlyn. "WHAT DID YOU TWO DO!?"

"Nothing!" The two in question said together with their arms up in defense.

"We just woke them up like you asked!" Harry insisted.

"You blindfolded us and shoved us under a waterfall!" Caspian accused.

"We blindfolded you for mom's breakfast surprise," Jazlyn defended. "And anyways we were right beside you! How could we have possibly done that without getting ourselves wet?"

"With buckets of course." Caelum said. "You poured them on us!"

"Did you see any buckets?" Harry asked. Knowing full well that there were no buckets used in the process.

"Well no—" Caelum started

"We had blindfolds on—" Caspian continued.

"So of course we didn't see any buckets." They said together.

"You're not blindfolded now." Harry pointed out.

"Because we took them off after you tried to drown us," Caelum said.

"Wasn't us," Jazlyn insisted. "And did you see any buckets after you took the blindfolds off?"

"No," the twins said together slowly. "But the water was still coming out."

"No buckets, no evidence," she said lazily. "Your story doesn't add up. Therefore it wasn't us. Obviously."

Jane, Mary, and even Remus were all taken aback by how much she looked and sounded like her father as she said that. Which, in Jane's mind, only cemented the fact that she had everything to do with her sons' current predicament.

"Then why did the two of you come in here running?" Jane said with suspicion.

"Because, we saw the water falling on them and didn't know where it was coming from," Harry added, trying to sound just as casual. "Obviously we didn't want to get wet ourselves so we ran before whoever it was got us too."

And there was James, the three adults noted. Now Jane was entirely convinced it was the two of them.

"It was you!" Caspian insisted.

"How could it have possibly been us if we didn't have any buckets to do it with as you said?" Jazzy questioned. "Or if the water was still coming down? As you said."

"Magic of course." Caelum said.

"Ah ah ah." Jazzy said cheekily, waving her finger at them. Once again unknowingly looking and sounding exactly like her father. "We're underage, neither of us can do magic yet."

Mary and Jane turned towards Remus who had been casually leaning back on the counter. His tea cup was still raised. He had been watching the exchange like a quidditch match.

"Remus," Jane said slowly. "The Marauder of course."

"Aren't you getting a little too old for pranks?" Mary said.

"Old?" Remus said, "I'm only 31. If I'm old so are you. Besides, a Marauder never ages."

Jane opened her mouth to scold him but Remus held up his hand to silence her so he could continue.

"But did I do it? Why how can I? When there is no longer such a thing as Marauders." Remus said solemnly.

The children's jaws all dropped. He was good. Jane had to admit. She almost dropped it out of pity and guilt. But her boys were still shivering and soaked and her kitchen was getting more and more ruined by the water that was dripping all over them.

"No no no." Jane said with a shake of her head. She dried her boys off with a wave of her wand. "I'm not falling for that. My kitchen is ruined and I'm guessing the rest of my house is too. The four of you, will be mopping this house. NO MAGIC."

She pointed specifically at Remus, Jazlyn, Harry, and Avalon. Remus simply chuckled knowing that Jane wouldn't have fallen for it. Harry and Jazlyn looked indignant and ready to protest some more but stayed silent at Jane's stern look. Avalon, however, looked offended.

"Me?" Avalon said, "but I had nothing to do with it."

"The camera in your hand says otherwise," Jane said. She held out her hand for the object in question. Grumbling Avalon placed it in her Aunt's hand. Remus picked her up and placed her neatly on his shoulders.

"Onwards mini Marauders in training," he said.

Jane rolled her eyes. "Be sure to hurry if you want to make it to the zoo on time with us."

Harry and Jazlyn jumped from their seats and rushed to get the mops.

2 hours later Jane finally relented and allowed Remus to clean the mess up using magic. They had to mop up 3 flights of stairs as well as the twins path from the stairs to the kitchen. And the entire third floor where the boys' rooms were as the waterfall had continued to go down even after the boys had left and flooded the whole floor. Harry hadn't been too happy that some of the water had leaked into his room. By the time the two hours were over they had only managed to get a third of the third floor mopped, the path to the stairs on the main level and the first flight of stairs. The Cameliard estate was large after all. Even splitting the work it probably would have taken at least the full day to get it all cleaned up without magic. Jazlyn and Remus had tackled the third floor. Jane had allowed Remus to use magic to stop the waterfall, while Harry and Avalon started at the bottom.

Jane had made them all wear muggle clothes since they were going to a muggle zoo in London. The four moppers had to get cleaned up and change their clothes even if they had been wearing muggle clothes because those were now covered in soap, water, and sweat.

Finally at nearly 11 in the morning they were all ready to go. They used the floo to get to Sara's where they took the car to drive the short rest of the way.

Outside the zoo there was a little ice cream truck where Jane allowed all the children (plus Remus) to get ice creams. They started out the visit all together. Harry and Avalon made it a point to show the others just how much the gorillas in the zoo looked like their cousin and uncle, Dudley and Vernon. Jazlyn cheekily remarked that the wolves looked like Uncle Moony. Remus was not impressed.

Jane should have known that five magical children in a muggle zoo would not end well. The boys insisted on going to the reptile cages so the party of eight went together. However, next to the reptile exhibit was an aquarium exhibit the girls begged to go see. So in order to prevent an argument Jane took the two girls while Mary and Remus went with the boys.

Jazlyn ran up to the glass with one of the whales. Avalon had run off to look at the smaller colorful fish so Jane had to run after her.

Jazzy found the whales to be quite entertaining. One of them kept approaching her even though she was short and it had to keep swimming down.

In the reflection of the glass Jazlyn thought she saw Harry. Surprised she turned around to call him over. But when she did she couldn't find him. She looked back into the reflection of the glass and saw Harry again; his back was turned away looking at something else behind another glass. Perhaps she had been mistaken, she thought, and it was someone else. she watched as a snake raised his head to be eye level with the boy in the reflection. Then her two brothers ran up to him and accidentally shoved the boy over. She knew that the boy had to be Harry. She watched as the snake slithered out of the cage.

"Mom!" Jazlyn called. She whipped around trying to find her mother. Finally she spotted her and Avalon at a large tank with a school of fish. "Mom. Come quick! We've got to go back to Harry and the others!"

"What? Why?" Her mother asked. "You were the one who insisted on separating to come here. And we just got here."

"Because the boys just let a snake loose!" Jazlyn insisted loudly. Some muggles cast them an alarmed look. And Jane rushed to quiet her daughter.

"How would you know that?" Jane said quietly and sternly. "You've been with us, haven't you?"

"Yes, but I saw it happen." Jazlyn said. She pointed to the Whale exhibit. "There in the reflection."

She dragged her mother over and pointed to the spot she had seen Harry and the snake.

"Jazzy, sweetheart," Jane started concernedly. "There's nothing but our own reflections."

Jazlyn, who had been looking up at her mother, turned back to the glass. But she didn't see her own reflection instead she saw the snake again. This time slithering up to Harry. Then she watched as one of her brothers fell into the cage the snake had just come out of.

"One of the boys, Caelum, I think, just fell in!" She shouted pointing and pleading for her mother to listen to her. She didn't care that a bunch of muggles had whipped their heads around to see who had fallen into the aquarium.

"Children, what vivid imaginations they have," Jane said loudly to the muggles listening in before lowering her voice to Jazlyn. "Jazlyn you are causing quite the scene."

"Not as big of a scene as the boys are causing." Her daughter shot back.

"If they were causing such a large enough scene to let loose an animal, don't you think we would have heard about it?" Jane said.

Nevertheless she dragged her daughter out of the aquarium. Avalon had stopped and stared at the spot Jazlyn had been pointing at and saw nothing. Jane called out to her to follow and she hurried to catch up.

It didn't take them very long, but on the way they hadn't seen or heard any commotion that a snake on the loose would have caused. That is until they got there.

When they walked into the reptile cages they did indeed spot Harry by the snakes. But the snake was safely behind the glass. Just as Jane turned to point this out to her daughter, the snake raised its head just like how Jazlyn had seen in the whale's glass reflection. Jazlyn paled.

"See everything's fine," Jane said. She had seen nothing wrong with the snake's behavior. But looking at her daughter she saw that Jazlyn's face had paled in fear. "What is it? Are you alright? Look Harry's fine."

"It looks just like the reflection," Jazlyn said quietly and pointed in Harry's direction. "Look, the twins are going to bump into Harry and the snake is going to get out."

Jane turned back around in time to see the twins knock into Harry just as Jazlyn had said. Then the snake escaped. Jane watched frozen in horror as her daughter commentated the scene before them seconds before it were to happen.

The twins screamed in fright. Caelum jumped and fell over the railing. Just as Jazlyn had described. The muggles turned to look at the scene and started panicking at the site of a boa constrictor on the loose. Remus and Mary rushed forward as quickly as possible. Remus attempted to catch the snake. While Mary ran up to the cage. The glass that was meant to keep the snake in and the guests out was back and trapped Caelum inside. Mary quickly and subtly vanished the glass. And pulled Caelum out safely. Then once all three boys were safely out of the way, she made the glass reappear but broken instead.

The snake started to head in the direction of Jane, Avalon, and Jazlyn. Jane finally unfroze and whipped out her wand.

"Immobillus," She said just as Avalon had fearlessly caught it with her hands. "Put that down!"

Remus quickly approached them and snatched the snake up instead. He and Jane stared stunned at each other. Jane looked back at Jazlyn who shrunk into herself and had stopped commentating the disastrous scene before them.

Mary ended up confunding the zookeeper into bringing them to the back offices so they could safely tuck the snake away and lift the charm Jane had placed on it. Mary then obliviated him slightly into forgetting the use of magic he had seen. They brushed off the apologies of the zookeeper and assured him they weren't going to press any charges. The children guiltily accepted the free souvenirs that were offered them. Avalon cheekily picked out a snake plushie.

When they got home Jane sat them all in the drawing room. The three boys were centered on the couch with the girls in nearby armchairs. Jazlyn curled into herself clutching the whale plushie she had impulsively picked out when the director had offered them to choose something and now regretted that decision. She had no idea what just happened but had the feeling she was going to get in trouble for it.

"What happened?" Jane asked with a strange sense of deja vu to earlier that day.

Jazlyn opened her mouth to try and explain herself again but her mother cut her off.

"Not you, Procyon, I know what happened with you," Jane said. The children all knew that Jane was mad or disappointed given the use of Jazlyn's first name. Although the three boys, Remus, Mary were confused as to what happened with Jazlyn. "The boys."

All three of them started speaking at once.

"The glass just vanished—" Harry started.

"We just wanted to see the snake—" Caspian said

"Harry talked to the snake!" Caelum said.

Remus held up his hands.

"One at a time," he said.

"Did you just say Harry talked to the snake?" Jane asked, eyes wide.

"Yes!" Caelum said. "It wasn't moving so we decided to leave it alone but then Harry started talking to it, didn't you Harry?"

All eyes turned to Harry and he shrunk back at the attention.

"Some kid was knocking on the glass because the snake was just sitting there before his dad or someone came and pulled him." Harry began. "And so I commented to the snake that it must be annoying and that I got that all the time at the Dursley's. I didn't expect it to say or do anything. And then the snake nodded and I asked if it understood me. Then it said that it had never been to Brazil—"

"Brazil?" Avalon asked, confused on how that related.

"Yeah the placard said he was from there." Harry answered before continuing. "But then the twins came and knocked me over and the glass just vanished! I didn't mean to set it free."

He tried to defend himself. But the adults weren't as concerned about the vanishing glass now as they were about the fact that he was able to talk to the snake.

"You're a parselmouth!" Avalon exclaimed.

"A what?" Harry and Caspian asked together.

"It means you can talk to snakes," Caelum helpfully supplied.

"It's supposed to be hereditary," Jane said. "But no one in the Potter family has ever been able to do that as far as I know and your mother was a muggle-born, as you know."

"Salazar slytherin was a parselmouth," Jazlyn muttered unusually quietly. "Some people even consider it a sign of dark magic—"

"Dark magic!" Harry exclaimed. "But I can't, I'm not-"

"Procyon Jazlyn Black!" Jane glared.

"I'm not saying you are one!" Jazlyn defended quietly. "That's just what Ernie Macmillion said when we talked about it at school. I just mean that that's what some people connect it to. Not that I agree with them."

Jane calmed slightly. But Harry still looked nervous. Remus stepped forward and knelt in front of Harry.

"Harry," He said. "Just because you can do something that other people might find odd doesn't make you a dark wizard understand? You know I'm a werewolf. Werewolves are considered dark creatures, but that doesn't make me, a dark wizard or creature does it?"

"Of course not!" Harry exclaimed. "You've just got a— a little, er, problem—"

Jane, Remus, and Mary all burst out laughing. Harry blushed.

"Sometimes you remind me of James," Remus said with a smile. "He referred to it as my furry little problem whenever we were in company."

"Most people, including myself for a time," Mary said. "Were under the impression that he had a badly behaved rabbit."

Harry and Avalon smiled.

"See Harry," Jane said. "It's ok for you to be a parselmouth. We were just shocked is all. I'll look through the family tree and history. Perhaps there's someone who you could have gotten it from if there is anyone."

Harry had relaxed. Remus and Jane were right, as always.

"I'll head to the ministry to write up a report." Mary said. She worked in the muggle liaison office. "It caused quite the uproar with the muggles. But I already let them know we handled it. Paperwork, you know. Do we know which one of you caused the glass to vanish?"

"Er... no." Caelum shrugged. "It all happened so fast."

"It might have been me," Harry said hesitantly. "I was a little startled when I fell over. But I'm not sure."

"That's alright, I'll see if it got recorded. And don't worry I won't mention a thing about being a parselmouth," Mary said with a shrug. She gave them a final wave and wished the twins one last Happy Birthday. She turned around and stepped into the fireplace and left.

"You're not still mad are you, mom?" Caspian asked.

"I'm not mad," Jane said, "Just a little frustrated. It's not any of your faults you can't control accidental magic. I didn't mean to take it out on any of you."

"However," Remus cut in and looked pointedly at Caelum and Caspian. "Next time you two need to be careful."

"Yes Uncle Moony." They chorused together.

"Now," Jane said, "Why don't you lot go and get changed? We still have a couple of Birthday boys to celebrate."

The twins shot up and rushed to their rooms to change. Harry stood up and started to go as well. Avalon, however, leaned forward but made no sign of otherwise standing up.

"I want to know how Jazzy knew how everything was going to happen before it did." She stated.

Jazlyn who had not moved since their arrival looked up with a slightly fearful expression. She wasn't sure why she was scared. But she didn't think she should have been able to do that. Even if she was a witch.

"She what?" Harry stopped in his tracks.

"She saw the snake getting out when we were at the aquarium exhibit." Avalon said.

Jane looked carefully at her daughter. She had noticed that Jazlyn was trying very hard to appear as if she wasn't there. Perhaps she had been too harsh with her at the zoo and earlier. She tried to think if her daughter mentioned seeing future events before. Jazlyn always had reflexes almost as good as professional quidditch players. Nothing could get past her. The others found it difficult to play tricks on her because she always seemed to know they were coming. Jane had always written it off as coincidences, Jazlyn being incredibly smart for her age, or the fact that as a part of this family it was expected to get pranked or to prank. She knelt carefully in front of her daughter. She placed her hands in her knees.

"Has something like that ever happened before?" Jane asked quietly.

Jazlyn shrugged but didn't answer. Jane tried to think back to her divination classes. She didn't think she'd ever be using anything from those. But perhaps this was related.

"Have you seen anything else before it happened? Or seen anything strange?" Jane prompted.

"Is that considered dark magic too?" Harry quipped.

"Harry!" Remus and Jane scolded together.

"She started it," He muttered but only Remus's werewolf hearing had heard it.

"Probably," Jazlyn muttered darkly at the same time.

"No, sweetheart," Jane said encouragingly, "Remember what Remus said."

"I get dreams." Jazlyn answered quietly. "but you already knew that. Most of them are memories. But well…"

She trailed off. This would probably be a good time to tell her mother about the vision she had of her father. But now Harry, Avalon, and Remus were also still there listening.

"There was one time… back in November… when we went to the London Flat…" Jazlyn started. "The night before, I had the same dreams I usually get of that last night with Father…. then the next day while we were at the flat.. I was in the nursery and I found this pendant. When I touched it the room… well my dreams from the night before, it was like I was watching them happen right before me."

"What happened in your dreams?" Remus asked.

"There was one. It was at the same nursery. Father was there." She said. She called Sirius 'Father' whenever she was talking about before his incarceration. Because in those visions and in her memories he didn't seem like Voldemort's right hand man. "He was telling little me to look at the stars if he was ever not there. And then it changed, and we were in some other nursery with Uncle James. And they were talking about not telling you something. I didn't see or hear what though."

Jane's eyes widened. She had a feeling she knew what that conversation was about. Had she heard this before visiting Azkaban she might have been just as confused as her daughter. But not now.

"And then there was another vision…." she trailed off but her mother and Remus nodded at her to continue.

"There was a man. I think it was Sirius Black." She said switch to calling her father by name. Again, unable to connect the two personas of the man. "He had one of your cloaks. And a photo of me. A current one. And he was in Azkaban…"

Harry and Avalon gasped. The two adults shared a worried glance at each other that went unnoticed as the Potter children were distracted and Jazlyn was staring down at her hands.

"Harry, Avalon," Jane said, "go upstairs. I think it would be best if we talked to Jazzy alone."

"But—" They started protesting but stopped at Jane's stern gaze. They huffed and made their way out.

"And don't even think about listening in," Remus said pointedly. "I'll know."

They turned their attention back to Jazlyn as soon as the Potter kids had gone.

"Was there anyone else there?" Jane asked her daughter. She was a little worried that perhaps she had seen her there with Sirius. She felt guilty being relieved when Jazlyn shook her head.

"Did he say anything?" Remus asked.

"He said… he said that he'd see me soon." Jazlyn answered frightfully.

Even though Jazlyn looked terrified, Jane felt hopeful and guilty about being hopeful while her daughter was so afraid. But she couldn't help thinking that perhaps the vision meant that she would find a way to prove Sirius was innocent. Jane was tempted to tell her daughter everything, about the visit to Azkaban, her Father's innocence, how Jane was trying to get him a trial. She thought about how she could use her daughter's memories and visions to find ways to prove Sirius's innocence.

But no, she pushed those intrusive thoughts aside. Jazlyn was a child and a scared one. Jane could not use her daughter's emotions and magical abilities for her own selfish gain. Even if it would finally free her husband, she could not take advantage of her daughter in such a way. She would never forgive herself if she did and she knew Sirius wouldn't either.

Instead she pushed those thoughts aside and began to think about what these visions were and what they could mean about her daughter's magical abilities. She coupled her new information with the other things she had seen with the connection she had made earlier about her daughter's uncanny ability to hardly be surprised. Like Harry with his new ability of Parseltongue it seemed that Jazlyn had discovered a new talent.

"It seems we have ourselves a little Seer," Jane said with a reassuring smile. However, Jazlyn did not take that very well.

"You mean he really is coming after me!" She's not up with fright.

"Oh no! Jazzy, my dear," Jane rushed to reassure. "That's not what I meant. I just mean that your ability to see certain things, beyond the average sight, makes you a seer."

She looked desperately at Remus for help. Both of them quickly tried to reflect on their short time in Divination. Not for the first time she thought that perhaps she should have continued the subject passed her OWLS.

"You're mother's right, there is a very high possibility of you being a Seer," Remus cut in. He held up a hand when Jazlyn tried to interrupt again. "However it's not an exact science. The events you see might not be exactly what happens, but rather an interpretation of something that might happen or it might allude to something else entirely."

"What does that mean?" Jazlyn asked, confused.

"It means that what you see isn't always exactly what's going to happen." Remus explained further. "Being a true Seer and mastering it is incredibly difficult because when you see things you don't necessarily see the whole picture, time is fragile and the slight tip of consequences could change or lead up to the things that you see. In the vision you just explained, you did not see the before or after so what you saw might not be what you think it means."

"And from what I remember from Divination, Dreams usually are symbolic and might represent something else entirely," Jane added.

"So Sirius Black isn't going to come after me?" Jazlyn asked.

"No he's not," Jane assured her. At least not in the way that you think, she thought privately.

"But my visions mean I'm a Seer?" Jazlyn asked, slightly confused. "How is that possible?"

"It appears so from what we've seen and heard today that you are. But we'll look into it to make sure. And It's just an ability you can be born with and possibly inherited. But I can't think of anyone in my family who's been a Seer, possibly your father…" Jane said slowly. "Or like how your cousin, Nymphadora Tonks, was just born being a Metamorphmagus but no one in the family. Or like how Muggle-Borns are born with magic when no else has it."

"Just make sure you don't go telling everybody about it," Remus warned. "People are always desperate to know what happens to their futures and it could put you in danger. If you really want to tell anyone make sure you can trust them first."

Jazlyn nodded in understanding. She guessed that her being a Seer, explained a lot. She always knew when Neville was about to break something, or when her brothers tried to prank her. It explained her dreams. Even though most of them were from the past, she still saw things most people don't usually see.

Jane finally stood up.

"Well I think that explains all the excitement today." Jane said. "I'll have to talk to Professor Dumbledore some more about you and Harry's newfound abilities. You don't need to worry, Jazlyn, it's not a bad thing. We just want to understand more and perhaps see how we can help you. You especially will probably need some kind of additional training when you get to Hogwarts, if we are correct about you being a Seer."

Jazlyn nodded in understanding. She felt relieved. At least she wouldn't have to try to figure out all her dreams and be a Seer on her own.
