An: I will be posting two chapters today since this section ended up being a little longer than I anticipated.
Also I have started writing a marauders era prequel to this. So if you are interested in how Jane and Sirius came to be and my take on the Marauders, I will post a link at the end of the next chapter I am posting today (chapter 15) or you can go to my profile to find it.
Disclaimer: I do not own the text of the Hogwarts letter and Gringotts poem used in this chapter just as I don't own Harry Potter, their characters or some similar events used in this fic.

The letters from Hogwarts
The summer holidays had finally started. Jane took the lack of students at the school as an opportunity to visit Dumbledore and inquire about the discoveries the trip to the zoo had caused. Especially concerning Harry being a parselmouth. And she was not satisfied with the results of the visit.
Dumbledore was not at all surprised to hear that Harry could speak Parseltongue. He told Jane that Voldemort's killing curse had rebounded and that it was possible that in the process of destroying his own body, he had given little Harry some of his power through his scar.
Jane found this incredibly alarming. Dumbledore insisted that should Voldemort ever return, Harry might find this to be very useful. Which did not ease Jane's at all.
"Should Voldemort return, and I believe he will attempt to in the near future," Dumbledore said. "I believe this mistake on Voldemort's part will be his downfall along with the protection provided by Lily and possibly James. He is still at least frequently seeing the Dursleys? Considers them family?"
Jane nodded.
"Good." He said. "Now as for your daughter?"
Jane wasn't at all surprised that he seemed to know that she also came about her own daughter. She had intentionally mentioned her daughter seeing the incident on the glass before it happened knowing that Dumbledore would catch it and inquire about it. She told him about Jazlyn's visions, purposely leaving out the one of her seeing Sirius in Azkaban. Although she could tell Dumbledore knew she was leaving something out. But he didn't say anything.
"How peculiar," He said when she was done. "I do believe that she just might be a seer. However despite it being the ability to predict the future it is quite unpredictable. Do alert me if she ever shows signs of making a prophecy or if she does speak one."
Jane grimaced at the mention of prophecies. She was not fond of them. The thought of her little 11 year old making a prophecy was highly disconcerting. The amount of pressure that it would cause her would be too much for a child.
"Can she make prophecies? She's only a child." Jane asked.
"I wouldn't count it out," Dumbledore said. "I'll be sure to keep an eye on both her and Harry when they start this year. I'm sure they will be exceptional students. Much like a certain group of students, who turned out to do exceptional things and be extraordinary witches and wizards."
He peered meaningfully at her through his half mooned glasses. Jane understood just the group of students he was talking about.
"Thank you, Professor," Jane smiled. Being in Dumbledore's office reminded her of her time at Hogwarts and she felt as if she was still the student being called into his office. Unlike the last time she was in Dumbledore's office when she had argued with him over Harry's living arrangements.
"I must warn you, my dear," Dumbledore said, "I have reason to believe that Voldemort will try to make a return this year."
Jane's heart sank. That wasn't something she wanted to hear.
"And I am sure he will attempt to go after Harry as well," he warned. "It'll be good that he is coming to Hogwarts where I can keep an eye on him. Not that you haven't done an excellent job yourself."
"No you're right," Jane said. "I can't think of a safer place for him to be if Voldemort were to come after him then Hogwarts. Do you know how he may attempt his return?"
"I have a few suspicions," Dumbledore said slowly. "I will tell you them but you mustn't tell anyone aside from Mr. Lupin."
Jane nodded her head and Dumbledore began to explain to her his plans for the year.
At the end of their visit, Jane dismissed herself and headed towards the fireplace. She paused as if suddenly remembering something and turned back to Dumbledore.
"I don't suppose I could pick up a couple of Hogwarts letters while I am here?" Jane asked with a small smile. "I do believe I have two eager first years waiting at home."
"Ah but where is the magic in that?" Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eye.
Jazlyn already had the habit of getting up at the rising of the sun. And now when she would wake she would make her way to her Balcony and eagerly watch out for signs of any owl post until her mother had her drag her down for breakfast. Hardly an hour later, she would be joined by Harry, who normally would slip in as long as possible. But he was just as impatient for his letter and he was not about to miss his letter arriving. Or have his cousin brag that she had gotten hers first and open it without him.
"A watched kettle doesn't boil," Remus said stepping onto the balcony.
"A magic one does," Jazlyn retorted. She had brought out enchanted binoculars and had them held up to her face. Harry did the same with his own pair.
"Come along," Remus said. "Watching the sky isn't going to make it come faster. And the Owls wouldn't want to be greeted by hungry desperate children."
Remus snatched the binoculars out of their hands and they both groaned. But nevertheless they trudged downstairs after their uncle.
"Ah there you two are," Jane said, "your breakfast is cold."
Jane placed two plates down at the breakfast table. Caelum and Caspian were already there eating their breakfasts. Avalon was also at the table. Having already finished her breakfast, her empty plate was pushed aside and had a sketch book out in front of her.
"Have any owls come?" Jazzy asked as she sat down.
"Wouldn't you know?" Jane laughed. "You've been watching for it all week."
"How much longer," Harry asked.
"They should be coming soon," Jane said, "just wait."
"I've done my waiting," Jazlyn whined. She slammed her hands on the table and fell backwards. "12 years of it! That's longer than everyone else!"
"It's your fault for having the worst Birthday," Caspian.
"It's not my fault mom didn't push faster," Jazlyn shot back.
Jane just rolled her eyes having already had this conversation with Jazlyn for the past year.
A few minutes later the twins finished their food and stood to clear their plates. Suddenly two owls burst through the window of the breakfast room and flew past them. They each landed in front of Jazlyn and Harry respectively.
"AHHHH!" Jazlyn squealed. "They're here! They're! They're here!"
She jumped and reached for the owl in front of her.

"How do they know exactly which room we're in!" Harry exclaimed.
"Each letter is written by a magic quill," Remus answered with a laugh.
"A bit creepy, don't you think?" Harry muttered to Jazlyn.
"Who cares?" She replied. "They're here!"
She eagerly ripped open her letter. The Hogwarts crest was stamped on the top.

The next page consisted of a complete booklist. Remus Lupin peered over their shoulders to read them. He let out a loud laugh.
"Looks just like ours," he said. Except for that line."
"Firsts years are not allowed their own broomstick," Harry read aloud for everyone. "You mean we can't bring our brooms!"
Jane started laughing as well.
"I'd blame your parents for that one," Remus said,"
The two soon to be first years glared at Jane. She just rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't my fault it was James and Sirius," Jane defended.
"You too!" Remus insisted, "It may have been their idea but I don't think they would've convinced every first year with a broom to have an unsupervised quidditch tournament without you."
"What!?" All five children shouted together.
"Remus!" Jane said indignantly. She gave him a fake glare. "Remus can tell you that story later. It looks like we will need to take a trip to Diagon Alley."
"I'll go get ready," Jazlyn said. She started shoveling her breakfast down as fast as she could.
"Not so fast," Jane said, "I don't mean today."
"What? Why not?" Harry asked with his mouth full as he too had started shoveling his food.
"Finish chewing before speaking, Harry," Jane lightly scolded. "And I have to be at the ministry today for some very important meetings with the International Confederation of Wizards."
"But Mom!" Jazlyn protested.
"I'm sorry why don't we go next week, for Harry's Birthday?" Jane asked.
"Why not tomorrow?" Jazlyn asked.
But Harry nodded in agreement. He liked the idea of making a special trip out of his birthday. He thought that perhaps he could convince his aunt to get him a new broomstick along with his quidditch supplies and find a way to smuggle it into school.
"I'm sorry, Jazzy," Jane said sincerely, "It's a busy week for me, you can wait a little longer."
—
A week later they were finally ready to go. They left the twins behind with Mary. Remus promised to meet them at the Leaky Cauldron.
"Remember Sara moved to France on assignment so we need to floo to the Leaky Cauldron. Just say Diagon Alley to get there."
Jazlyn practically threw herself into the fireplace. She burst through the flames and carefully stepped out of the fireplace. She had only gone to the Leaky Cauldron a few times. Mostly to pass through into muggle London. And occasionally for lunch after her lessons at Charm School. It was dark and shabby. A few people had looked up when the fireplace roared to life but turned away when they saw the young girl. It was very common around this time for young Hogwarts students to be coming though and they knew her family would be following shortly behind. The bartender and owner recognized Jazlyn and waved at her.
She looked around, there was a woman at the bar and a man with a turban was pressed in the back corner of the room as if he was trying hard not to be seen. Then her eyes landed on the man with the scarred sitting directly in front of the fireplace. He was smiling at her. Jazlyn ran forward and gave him a hug.
"Took you lot long enough," Her Uncle Remus greeted with a laugh.
The fireplace roared again and Harry stumbled through in a much less graceful manner than Jazlyn.
"Harry, you really need to learn how to use the floo," Jazlyn said, shaking her head.
"I'll stick with flying, thanks," He retorted as Remus helped him to his feet.
"Happy Birthday, Harry," Remus said, handing him a small and thin rectangular package.
"Thanks, Uncle Moony! You didn't need to though, I'll be getting a lot today," He said tucking it into his cloak to open later. He gave Remus a hug just as Jane was stepping through.
"Ms. Black," Tom, the bartender, greeted with a wave. "Should've known you'd be coming today after seeing your little girl, would you care for anything?"
Many of the occupants looked up at the name but after seeing that it was Jane gave small smiles and returned to their business.
"No thank you, Tom," Jane said with a smile. "I've got a couple of excitable first years wanting wands with me today."
She put a hand on both Harry and Jazlyn's shoulders. Tom's eyes went from Jazlyn's to Harry's and up to Harry's scar.
"Why could it be? You've brought him at last," The old bar keeper said leaning over and peering closer. Jane protectively pulled Harry closer. "Harry Potter, an honor to finally meet you."
The bar went quiet and the quests at the leaky cauldron snapped their hands in their direction. Jazlyn glances nervously at Harry. She knew that they hardly took Harry into the public wizarding world for this very reason. Remus stepped protectively in front of him to shield him from view.
Many of the patrons stood and Tom started hurrying around the counter to greet Harry. Chairs scrapped as guests also wanted to clamber forward to meet the boy who lived. All of them whispering excitedly to each other. Jazlyn found Harry's hand and gripped it. She looked up to see Uncle Remus glaring at them and her mother fixing a cold and harsh stare on the crowd. If Jazlyn were the patrons she would have stopped in her tracks in fear.
"This isn't a meet and greet," Jane said coldly and with an air of authority. "Mind your business."
The crowd instantly backed off. And the room fell silent. With her chin held high with confidence Jane marched the little family over to the blank wall that allowed entrance into the Leaky Cauldron.
Jazlyn felt the eyes still on them and she also heard the timid steps of someone approaching. She turned to see the pale man with a turban heading in their direction. Her mother had noticed without looking as well.
"As I said we aren't giving autographs today," She said without even glancing at the man.
"M-m-my a-apologies, madam," the man stuttered nervously.
Serves him right, Jazlyn thought.
"I-I simply w-wanted to intro-introduce myself as both s-students new d-defense against the dark arts professor," he continued. "My name is P-professor Quirrell."
Jane glanced him up and down the cold fix expression still on her face. Finally recognition flashed in her eyes.
"Ah," she said. Relaxing her tone and smiling politely at the man. "That's right professor Dumbledore's told me about you. Congratulations on your new position."
The little family relaxed when Jane did. But Jazlyn still stared coldly at him. There was something about him that she instinctively didn't like but she couldn't put her finger on it. But with a nudge from her mother she politely shook the man's hand, all while giving him a haughty glare. He broke off the handshake pretty quick.
"I-I'm here to pick up a f-few Books m-myself," he said conversationally. After Remus had asked.
"How nice," Jane said as she tapped the stones on the brick wall, threw up, two across, three times. The children started in excitement. They instantly ran off.
Jane politely said goodbye to Professor Quirrell and started quickly after the children.
"Not so fast, you two," Jane called. "We'll need to go to Gringotts first."
"You mean we finally get to go with you?" Harry exclaimed. Jane always opted to go to the bank on her own, rightfully deeming it too chaotic to bring the children with her.
"You're old enough." She said. "Besides I think it's time for you to see your own vault Harry."
"My own vault?" He said with his eyes widening.
"What? You think your parents left you with nothing?" Remus said with a smile.
They finally reached the steps of the Bank. It was a large marble building. A large man stepped out through the bronze doors. At first Jazlyn. Thought that he was a giant. But perhaps he only looked larger compared to the tiny goblins that manned the entrance. They stopped and Jane and Remus both called out to the man.
"Hello Hagrid!" Jane said waving the man over.
"Oh 'Ello there!" He said as he bounded over to them. "Didn' expect to see yer lot here!"
Jazlyn had to take a step back in surprise. He really was a giant! He had a large brown build and tangled brown hair and a bushy beard.
"Well we've got to get their Hogwarts supplies." Remus said, ruffling both children's hair.
Hagrid peered down at the two kids with kind eyes and a smile.
"Well look at the two o' yeh!" He said loudly. "All grown up. Last I'm I saw yeh could hold yeh both in the palm o' my hand."
Jazlyn and Harry looked at each other. Neither of them could recognize him.
"Jazlyn, Harry," Remus said introducing them. "This is Rubeus Hagrid, keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts. He's been a friend of hours for quite some time."
"I was hopin' to stop by later," Hagrid said. "Knew it was yer birthday today, Harry. I wanted to give yeh a little somethin'."
He reached into his large pockets and started to search for something. He finally pulled out a slightly squashed box.
"Sorry migh' o' sat on it a bit." He said with a smile. "Still tastes good I reckon."
After an encouraging nod from Jane and Remus Harry accepted the box. Inside was a slightly, squashed birthday cake that read happee birthdae Harry.
"Thank you, sir," he said with a bright smile.
"Look at yeh!" Hagrid said, wiping his tears from his eyes. "All grown up an' polite like yeh mum. It seems like yesterday I was takin yeh to those muggles. An' yeh was asleep in' my hand."
"What?" Harry asked, confused.
"Hagrid was the one who rescued you from your parents house, Harry." Jane told him. "He helped bring you to the Dursley's when you were little."
She purposely left out the part where he had left Harry on the Dursley's doorstep in the middle of autumn. That had been On Dumbledore's poor instructions and not Hagrid's fault.
"What brings you here, Hagrid?" Remus asked.
"Dumbledore asked me to pick somethin' up fer him," he said with great importance. He patted his chest pocket meaningfully. "Had meh empty a vault fer 'im."
Jane and Remus glanced worriedly at each other. Jazlyn had a feeling they knew exactly what Hagrid was talking about.
"What did you have to get?" Jazlyn asked innocently. She did not miss her mother's sharp warning look.
"Can't tell yeh that," Hagrid said. "Very secret. Hogwarts business."
"Well, we best not keep you, then,"Jane said, hurriedly. She grabbed Jazlyn's hand and tugged her up the steps. "Feel free to come by for dinner tonight if you can!"
Hagrid cheerfully agreed and waved goodbye. Remus to the cake from Harry and shrunk it to fit in his pocket. He pulled up the stars after Jane and Jazlyn.
Right at the entrance a goblin greeted them next to the goblin was a large gold plated sign with a poem.
"Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there."
Jazlyn read the sign and immediately pictured a dragon bursting from the roof of the white stoned building. She wasn't sure why. Once out of earshot of the goblin, she tugged her mother's sleeve and whispered in her ear.
"Has anyone ever tried to rob Gringotts?" She asked.
"No," her mother said. "It's quite impossible really. This place is one of the two most protected places in the wizarding world. After Hogwarts, of course."
"Is it true that there's a dragon?" whispered Harry.
"I wouldn't know," Jane responded. "I've certainly never seen it."
She stopped in her tracks when they entered a large and extravagant hall. There were counters with goblin tellers on either side of the marble room. She turned to Remus and pulled out a key from her purse.
"Here," Jane handed Remus the key. "You take Harry to his vaults. When you're done you two can go ahead and get started on Harry's list without us. You'll probably get done here first as Jazzy and I have two vaults to visit today."
Remus nodded a confirmation and tugged Harry over to an open teller.
"Two vaults?" Jazlyn asked as they waited to be called over to an open teller themselves.
"Yes," Jane said. "Like Harry, you're old enough to visit your own vaults."
"My own what?" Jazlyn said surprised.
Jane sighed.
"You're father left you everything in his will," Jane said. "And even though he is not dead, it's not like he can use his own assets at the moment. And he was unaware of your brothers' existence. Since they weren't written in the will that technically makes you the sole beneficiary of the Black Family and all their assets."
Jazlyn gaped. The sole… as in all of it was hers. Then she screwed up her face in a grimace after remembering just what family they were talking about.
"I thought he had been disowned?" Jazlyn asked, confused.
"He was but when his mother died he was the last living Heir. And him now being… unable to access it means it is now yours."
"But I don't want anything from him," she scowled.
"I know," her mother replied. "But that doesn't stop it from being yours now."
Finally a goblin called them over and they approached.
"We'd like access to the Le Fay vaults as well as The safe for Procyon Black." Jane said to the goblin.
"Do you have keys to both vaults," the goblin said skeptically. He was right to as both were vaults of very old families. Jane pulled out two old fashioned keys and handed them to the goblin.
"I'll need your palm, your highness, " the goblin said, reaching out his hand. Jane grimaced at being called your highness by the goblin. But held her palm out. He pricked her finger and pressed it to a paper. Words appeared on the page.

"And the girl's," the goblin said peering down at Jazlyn.
"What?" The girl asked nervously.
"Both my family and your father's family used Blood wards on their vaults, they want to make sure you're a Black." Jane quickly explained.
The younger girl skeptically lifted her hand and flinched when the goblin pricked her figure and pushed it onto the paper below her mother's. She stepped on her tiptoes to read the paper and gasped at the words. She started, shocked at the use of a full name and title.

"I thought we didn't go by titles much anymore? Isn't that some old fashioned pureblood thing?" Jazlyn asked her mother as the goblin behind the counter called another goblin over.
"Yes," Jane replied. "But Goblins are fond of tradition. Gringotts has been around for generations and goes by an ancient system. Especially the Black and Le Fay family vaults, which are two of the oldest wizarding families. Just because the wizarding world doesn't really go by a monarchy much anymore, doesn't mean those titles don't still exist."
The new goblin came and led them to a stone passageway. The goblin called over a small cart and they climbed small cart jerked and they sped down a track. The vaults were deep into Gringotts. They stopped at a vault with a large round gate. When they stepped out the Goblin turned towards Jane.
"Would you like access to the main Black vaults or Young Lady Procyon's specifically?" The goblin asked. Jazlyn was too afraid to correct him on her name. She was also confused. Main vault or Her vault? Did she have her own vault?
"Just hers," Jane replied. The goblin opened up the large round door. Then they stepped into a small entryway of the vault and a smaller door was off to the side. The goblin opened the smaller door. Jazlyn's jaw dropped when she saw all the gold.
"All this is mine?" Jazlyn asked.
"Yes," Jane said. "This vault is specifically your allowance to use at Hogwarts. When you were born we decided that we'd allow you to be in charge of your own money. We thought it would be a good idea to allow you to learn how to manage it on your own. I arranged for this vault to be set aside for your use while you are still underage. This is to last you all seven years, understand?"
Jazlyn still didn't really like the thought of using anything from her father. But the idea of using it on things the infamous Death Eater Sirius Black probably wouldn't approve of, like muggle things, pushed aside her thoughts of begging her mother to use her money instead. She stepped into the vault and started filling the coin purse her mother had handed her as much as she could.
When she came back out of the vault, her mother handed her the key with a warning not to lose it. She tucked it into the purse. They got back into the cart and sped even deeper underground. The Le Fay vaults had an even larger door. The Goblin traces the key in a complicated Pattern and even had her mother place her hand on the door handle to verify who was opening. This time they entered the main vault. Aside from gold, she saw jewels, armor, a million other things made out of gold and other metals. She even saw crowns displayed neatly. Her mother grabbed a few coins herself and they went back up to the outside world.
They didn't see Remus or Harry so they went to do some of their own shopping to see if they would cross paths with them. First they went to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions. Jazlyn had met Malkin a few times when she had gone shopping with mom or Sara.
"Hello dears," Madam Malkin greeted. "Here for Hogwarts at last, Miss Jazlyn. just saw young Mr. Potter and Mr. Lupin. You just missed them."
"That's alright, we'll meet up with them later," Jane said with a smile. "And yes Hogwarts."
"Right over here, we've been getting the lot today," Madam Malkin directed them to the back where a young girl with bushy brown Hair. A woman probably Her mother stood nervously to the side.
Jazlyn stepped onto the fitting stool next to the girl. Her mother left to look at other robes while Jane waited next to the girl.
"Are you going to Hogwarts too?" The bushy haired girl said. Jazlyn noticed that she spoke loudly and clearly. But she could detect the nervousness in her voice.
"Yes," Jazlyn answered, "I'll be a first year."
"Me too," the girl said. "Which professor did you come with?"
"Oh," Jazlyn said. This girl must be a Muggle-Born. "No. I came with my mother. You're a muggle-born aren't you?"
"Excuse me? I'm what?" The girl sounded offended. "That doesn't sound like a nice thing to say and what's that got to do with coming with your mother? My mother's just there see."
She spoke very fast and pointed at her mother. The woman in question stepped forward to interject but Jazlyn just laughed lightly.
"No! I'm sorry," Jazlyn went on to explain. "Muggle-born is a wizarding term used to describe someone whose parents aren't witches or wizards."
"Do your parents both have magic then?" The girl asked. "Is there a term for that too? Why do they call it Muggle-Born? It sounds kind of rude doesn't it?"
"Hermione, slow down," the girl's mother said nervously.
"No it's fine," Jazlyn said. "My parents are both magical. Yes there is a term for it, it's called pureblood. You're called muggle-born because your parents are muggles, non magical people. And those with one magical parent and one muggle or muggle-born parent are called half-blood. I don't know why they call muggles muggles though. But I guess I also don't know why they call people with magic witches and wizards. It's not meant to be rude."
"So you grew up with magic," the girl, who Jazlyn figures was called Hermione, stated factually. "You must know loads of magic! Oh I'll be so far behind. You'd think they'd tell us sooner that we have magic or something."
"No no," Jazlyn insisted, "I haven't learned any magic either. Everyone starts learning at eleven because under that age it's difficult to control."
"But see you already know so much," Hermione said. "It's an entirely new world-"
"Tell you what," Jazlyn cut the girl off. "I'll give you my telephone number. My family has one because my cousins' family are muggles and they sometimes stay with themselves plus my mom's friend, who is a muggle-born."
"Do you not usually have phones to communicate?" The girl asked incredulously.
"No normally we use owls or the floo." Jazlyn said.
"The flu? Like the disease," the girl said in disgust.
"No not that, the floo as in the fire," Jazlyn attempted to explain but the girl didn't understand.
"All done, Miss granger," Madam Malkin said, interrupting their conversation.
The girl turned to her mother and asked if she had a paper to write their phone number down. Jazlyn ended up having to ask her mother to come over as she had forgotten what her phone number was. Jane was more than happy to talk to the Grangers and provide them with their number.
Shortly after they left Madam Malkin finished measuring Jazlyn. Her measurements hadn't changed too much from the last time they were there, which meant that Jazlyn could only get new school robes as her mother insisted she had plenty of others.
