So, this one is going to be a little close to the original timeline of the show. The next chapter will have some feels!

Ghost walked down to the catacombs. Her mind slowly thinking back to those weird dreams and visions that she had when she was young. Only three of them since she was six trines old. They would only come at every other night so she would never have thought of them as strange. After what happened this morning, this could be something different. She could only hope they didn't mean anything. As she neared the entrance, something dropped in front of her and roared. She flung backward and looked up to see a Silk Spitter.

It had a normal size, but the only difference was its shell. On its head was a handprint that had crystals align in a circle. An accident that Ghost had with the dye. It gave a clicking noise that was similar to that of laughter. I heard you gave Orchid a scare Ghost, it said. Glad I could return the favor!

Ghost huffed. "Nice one, Shield. Just try not to over do with me." She got up and dusted off her skirt. She gazed at the large creature. A moment of quiet hung in the air. Then, Ghost let out a laugh. "Wish you could do that to SkekSil. You would probably make him hard to peel off the ceiling." She hugged Shield. "It's so good to see you."

You doing ok? Shield was a Silk Spitter that had a heart of gold. He too was worried when Ghost had been doing work for the "Lords" of the crystal. He knows how much they mean to her. He doesn't like them, but it was thanks to them that Ghost, Orchid and he have been friends in the first place. It was that one thing that kept his rage in check. Even when he does his tricks, he finds a way to make it less stressful for her heart.

"Doing ok." Ghost answered. She told him about the usual routine. She listened to his story about the latest hunts that he did. She sighed. "I do wish we could dreamfast together. I know it's a Gelfling thing and Gelflings are Thra, but so are you and everyone else who lives on this planet."

Even the lords? Shield asked.

"They had been around far longer than I was born," Ghost said. "How could they not?" She fiddled with her dress. Then, Ghost hugged her friend once more. She smiled when Shield hugged her back. "I better head back up before anyone misses me. Especially SkekTek." She walked away and began to move up the steps. As she neared the lab, she heard crackling of electricity and buzzing of machines. Ghost simply shrugged at that. SkekTek must be working on another experiment. Then, she heard distress from the animals.

"That's enough!" SkekTek shouted.

Ghost froze. Then, she heard him yelling the crystal to stop. No, she thought. She ran to the direction of the noise. Her heart nearly stopped on the sight she had dreaded to see. SkekTek surrounded by a thick, greasy cloud. It was exactly what she saw this morning. She ran to the lever that she knew would turn the machine off. In an instant, she flipped it up. Her heart pounding loudly as the machine died down. She ran over to him and hugged the panting Skeksis. "Are you ok?! That was close!" Her hands felt the shaking of his entire body.

"Ghost…" He said after recovering from his shock. "Wha-What are you doing here?"

"I came here to see you." She answered. Ghost is the worst thing she had to witness. One of her nightmares coming true. She pulled out her handkerchief and wiped her face with it. Her heart pounded loud enough to be heard in the silence of the lab. "L-let's go out for a walk."

"Y-yes."

"Out of the castle this time. It's been a while since you've seen sunlight." She could see his face about to protest. Ghost shook her head. "I know the Emperor has been giving you a hard time as of late. The others might give you a hard time in this state too." She tried not to think of the Chamberlain smirking at the sight of it all. "Please? I know a special way out of here."

SkekTek sighed. How could he not say no to her? She may be a Gelfling, but the only one who tried to help him through the worst of times. Rejecting that would only make it worse. "All right, but we better head back before lunch time." He walked with her only a few steps when he heard an all too familiar whimper. "Oh no…"

The two looked up to see SkekSil standing before them. The Chamberlain was staring at them with intrigue. He head tilted to one side as if he was inspecting a clock. "My, my...What's this? Scientist, you already have found solution? That's wonderful!" He turned to walk away. "I'll go tell Emperor."

"No...I...haven't come up with anything yet." SkekTek admitted. He knew he would be severely punished if the Emperor learned of this failure. "I...just had a small accident."

"We're going to take a walk." Ghost said. Hoping that it would get the Chamberlain to leave them alone. "It won't be a long one. Tell the Emperor that I'll assist him later this afternoon." Her eyes turned cold and hard. After being with SkekSil for so long, she had gotten good at throwing intimidating glares to make up for her fragile appearance. She even recalled how she would make Stonewood boys nervous with it.

If SkekSil was scared, he was doing a good job hiding it. "Ok. Have fun with walk." He walked away. Leaving the strange duo alone.

Before long, Ghost managed to get the two of them to get out of the castle. She helped him to hop on some rocks that acted like a path to the other side of the lake. The white Gelfling was a little nervous when he slipped and nearly fell in the water. Once she was on the shore, she turned to face him. "Come on SkekTek!" She said. "You can do it."

SkekTek shook his head as he hopped on the last stone before reaching the bank. "How in the world were you able to do this?" His feet squelched by the mud. He groaned. The Scientist was going to have a hard time with this. He walked over to a smiling Gelfling.

"I discovered this by accident." She walked by his side as they went into the forest. Ghost began to enjoy herself. It had been a long time since she was able to do this with anyone. Even with Rian and Ordon. The light makes the Stonewood forest bright green. The sound of creatures skittering on the ground. Her eyes turned soft and filled with life. Wings spread out. Iridescent with interesting patterns that resemble the sun and stars. A soft smile graced her features. A strange beauty to all that truly knew her.

Once they reached a small clearing, SkekTek broke the silence. "So, can you tell me what had gotten you so upset?" He crossed his arms. "I know that I've nearly died back there but from what I saw from your face earlier, there was something else bothering you."

Ghost looked down. "All right. I guess you have the right to know." She moved her gaze upward. "Do you remember the stories of Mother Aughra? One of them being that she could see into the future?"

"I've heard rumors."

"Well…" Ghost began to explain everything that happened to her after the incident at the lake. Her visions of Gelfling screaming and vanishing into stardust. Crab-like creatures that crawled around and ravaged villages. Then, the visions of SkekTek getting hurt by the crystal and, what she saw as she held him, a strange bug-like creature eating SkekTek's eye. Ghost wiped her eyes to calm herself down.

SkekTek stood there silently. Taking it all in with complete shock. "I...Normally, I would've thought of it as preposterous. But after what you've told me, I guess it would kind of explain why you were in my lab."

"I just wanted to be sure it wasn't true." Ghost sobbed. She wiped her face vigorously. "Whatever was going to happen has to do something with the crystal hurting you."

"I wasn't just hurting me. Instead of giving...what I wanted…" SkekTek fiddled with his robe nervously. "It was draining me of every fiber of my being. My very essence!" He slowly calculated a horrible theory in his head. What part of the future Ghost had seen means that it had to do with his experimentation of the crystal. If he continued it, it might mean death for him and the other Skeksis.

"Please," Ghost said. "Don't go through with that experiment. I could mean trouble for us. To everyone in Thra."

"Well...I'm not extremely certain about what you've seen maybe accurate, but the Emperor would kill me if I did any experiments on you." He scratched his head. "However, I'll still need to come up with something for us, the lords of the crystal." He faced her again. "I won't go through it if you tell me more about you visions and keep close attention to them." SkekTek knelt in front of her. "Promise me that."

Ghost looked up at him. She walked a few inches to him and hugged his neck. "I will. Just try not to hurt yourself anymore." Ghost smiled as she felt his robotic embrace. Even though his arms are made of metal, warmth still seeped through. Her ears twitched to some rustling bushes. She looked up quickly. Her eyes scanned for anyone that may have followed them. When she looked at the bushes, a tan fizzgig rolled out of the bushes. Ghost sighed with relief. "Grumble. Don't scare me like that, you silly little fuzzy."

The fizzgig barked and rolled over to her. It leaped with all it's might and nestled into her arms. As it licked her face and SkekTek, a gray fizzgig popped out of the bushes and barked and growled at SkekTek. This slate gray creature went by the name Fearless. Fearless continued barking until Ghost was set down and received petting. "Fearless, when are you going to be nice to anyone else besides me?"

In a few moments, SkekTek and Ghost enjoyed the warm sun. The breeze removed the temporary terror they had just gone through.

-(Back at the Palace)-

The Chamberlain met up with the Emperor. He recently told him of what he had seen. "Scientist seem to rely on little Ghost for protection. We must keep the two apart, yes?" His mind already grinding as the Emperor ponders on what was being said. "After all, we Skeksis have been strong without Gelfling. Why do we need her? She only pet. She doesn't have true value. She'll only prevent us from our job."

The Emperor looked at him. "You're right. She's nothing more than a pet to us, but she seems to be the only one to keep the guards and Podlings in line. As for the Scientist, SkekTek seems to function better when she's around. Let her be. Just make sure she doesn't know anything about what we're doing with the crystal. If word gets out, she'll do something...rash."

"But Emperor," SkekSil protested. "She meddles in affairs. Had no right to do so-"

"Cease your whining!" SkekSo growled. He whacked the Chamberlain hard on the heard. "If I hear anymore complaints about Ghost, I will remove that tongue of yours. Understand?!"

SkekSil was silent. Then, bowed. "Yes...Emperor." He turned and left. One day Ghost, he thought bitterly. I will make you regret ever being part of Skeksis council once and for all.

SkekTek just deserves so much love right now. If he had someone like Ghost, he wouldn't have lost his eye! Yes, SkekSil is still a horrible person. More horrible people to come. Review!
