Izuku's POV
He sat up from where he lay on the rooftop. It felt as if he had woken up from a dream. Or a trance. What the hell had that been?
When the world fade he felt as if he entered a training trance. It was something he had entered once or twice before. The times that he had entered the trance were early during his training with Yoochun.
It had to be the Black Heaven and Earth Technique that Chun talked about. One of the forbidden parts of it that had specific requirements for an activation. Whether he was fortunate or unfortunate in the fact that someone had knocked him out of it remained to be seen.
Sitting up with a wince he felt the blood drain from his face. A dark haired man with ice blue eyes stood in the middle of the rooftop. He wore a light weight tshirt baring and black pants.
Izuku questioned rubbing his arm, "Yoochun what are you doing here?"
Ice blue eyes clashed against green as the two had a silent battle. Izuku knew why he was there. It was because he had gotten involved in a major Murim battle. Something that was ingrained into him to avoid.
Izuku was lucky that only Yoochun decided to make his presence known. If it had been Jinyup things could be a hell of a lot worse for him. The Fire Dragon would not allow someone like him to escape.
There would only be two options for the kid. Surrender or be eliminated. There was no choice between the options. Izuku would fight everything he had if it came down to it.
Izuku slowly gained his feet never taking his eyes off his master. Chun and Shiho had to go now. Things were only going to get worse from here.
Shiho grabbed his master's arm shouting, "Chun, Izuku! We have to go."
The Murim Alliance with renewed confidence began to enclose around them. She was right. They had to go. Izuku knew he wouldnt be able to go with them. Yoochun had joined the battle and he would have to keep him off of Chun.
Izuku snapped, "Chun, Shiho! Leave me here. There is no point in keeping up with this fight. If you stay here we will all be captured. I'll hold them off for as long as I can."
Turning noticed the Princess and Alex flying a copter. That would explain the whirling noise.
Her dark eyes were on the boy but both knew there was nothing they could do. As Chun boarded the copter his eyes trailed to the man. There was something familiar about him. Chun just couldn't place it.
Then they pulled out view as the Alliance rushed to stop them. This wouldn't be the last time he was there. That he swore. He would have his revenge for his master's death. Chun swore to return for his disciple one day. The boy had a good heart one that would not falter for anything.
Yoochun questioned his voice just as bored as he remembered it to be, "I'm surprised that you didn't try to go with them. The boy I remember would have insisted on going with them even if it cost the mission."
Izuku snarled, "I'm not the same cowardly child you remember, Yoochun. I've changed and grown strong because of the changes. All of this done without you."
Blue eyes flashed in anger then the man said disdainfully, "People dont change that easily brat. There is no way you changed from the coward who couldnt stand up for himself."
Izuku straightened to his full height which wasn't much and called forth both his ki and One For All. Most of Murim didnt use their quirks in tandem with their ki. If he was honest Izuku didnt like the way it felt most of the time. For this situation however he could not afford to hold back.
Yoochun sighed before cracking his neck, "Fine then. Show me how far you've come."
Using Hweh he brought himself close to the Tiger. Yoochun blocked his punch fueled by his ki and quirk with a wince. Good that meant he had a chance in this fight.
Yoochun had focused on teaching him control when he studied under him. The man had said that power would come later. Naively Izuku had believed him.
Those without power got nowhere in the world of Murim. He learned that lesson the hard way. Chun ingrained it into every fiber of his being. He would not disappoint his master now.
Blows were exchanged Izuku taking the worst of it. More than once he had been tossed over Yoochun's shoulder. Every time he went down he got right back to his feet.
Frustration built in the ice blue eyes every time he got back up. Good frustration meant his exmaster might make a mistake. All he had to do was keep pushing the man until that point.
As a final ditch effort he tried to use Fanged Destruction. Around him members of the Murim Alliance fell lightning coursed through their bodies. Unsurprisingly it had shocked Yoochun but he was quick to recover dissipating it with his own ki burst.
As Izuku tried to slip through the man's guard he was struck dead in his center. Something in him cracked pain that made the bullet wounds seem like paper cuts ripped through him.
He could barely withhold a scream as he collapsed to the ground. The world going black around him. The last thing he saw was sadness in his former master's eyes. And if he didnt know any better he would have said regret too.
Not being quiet conscious he could hear people around him. A familiar but implacable voice said, "This is him."
A male voice snapped back, "This is him? This twerp? A stray breeze could knock him over."
Is this a dream? What was happening?
The first voice said, "I'll vouch for him. This kid's spirit is at Goomoonryong's level."
Then it faded back into the blackness of before. The next time he became aware everything hurt.
He croaked painfully trying to discern his location, "Where?"
Trying to sit up there was an excruciating pain in his abdomen. In the exact place where he was center was. That's when he remembered. He and Yoochun had fought seriously. A battle in which he had lost.
Glancing to the side he found his mother asleep her head laying on the bed. He croaked out, "Mom?"
That startled her awake and her green eyes searching the room. She cried out at seeing him awake, "Izuku baby, you're awake!"
"You were in an car accident," she replied softly.
Ah so that was the excuse that they had made up for him. Why was he here though? He would have thought the Murim Alliance would have silenced him. After all he was the Dragon's Disciple.
A moment later a nurse came in. He was helped onto a stretcher. The worry in his mom's eyes was not something he had wanted to see. She probably had to take off work because of this less.
Questions formed in his mind. How did he get here? How long was he unconscious? How badly damaged was his center from that blow? Did Chun escape unscathed?
Izuku asked, "Nurse do you know how I got here?"
She said shortly, "An ambulance. You were lucky they brought you in when they did. Otherwise we would not be having this conversation. Dont worry the physical will be over before you know it."
They passed a man in a lab coat. It immediately set him on edge. He didn't feel like a doctor.
Just as his bed finished passing the man lunged. Before he could even blink Izuku found himself on the ground with a thump.
"Tch. Not a regular nurse then."
His nurse snarked back, "And you are not a regular doctor. Leave now before the Alliance comes. He is under their protection now."
"You can't just let him live! He's that bastard's disciple. He killed my master!"
A familiar man jumped into the fight blocking a strike meant for the nurse. He then slammed his fist into the fake doctor's abdomen. This rendered the other unconcious.
The nurse greeted, "Welcome Gangsung de Hung."
The man dismissed, "Why don't you take this coward back with you. I have some things to discuss with the boy."
The nurse bowed lowly before grabbing the attacker. Izuku for his part allowed Gangsung to help him to his feet and over to a bench.
:How long had he been watching?: he questioned.
Come to think of it. This was the same man that chased him in the rain. The one that he had been defeated by. Out of all his chasers this was the only one who treated him like an actual person.
Once they were both sitting Gangsung inquired, "Are you feeling well, Midoriya Izuku?"
"Yes sir," he answered startled from his observations.
Gangsung sighed, "I told your mother that you were in accident. Though to the heroes there was an official report. One Eraserhead has been by several times to check on you."
Eraserhead had been by? That was surprising. He didnt think the heroes would care what happened to him before school started. Then again he was supposed to be a teacher's recommendation student. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Gangsung inquired, "Can I take your pulse?"
Warm hands took his wrist two fingers touched his pulse point. After a moment he said, "Its just as I thought. Your center is badly by an unknown assailant. When you took those bullets for your teacher you collapsed. Then miraculously you got up. Only it wasn't so miraculous. You crossed one of the most dangerous thresholds in our world. The Black Origin Threshold. A man who looked like he could be Goomoonryong's brother stopped you when no one else could get close. That technique he used to dissipate your ki was at a level most of us couldnt even understand. When you two did battle it was like we were watching two titans clashing."
"I dont understand," he stated trying to make sense of it.
Gangsung sighed, "With a damaged center like yours you will be able to use your ki. It's not broken otherwise you would have died that night. It would have been more merciful if it had. Your ki will slowly poison your body from here on out. There is no known treatment for healing a damaged center. Within a year you will die."
The man must have seen the disbielf on Izuku's face. He said with a shake of his head, "Whatever you choose to believe is up to you. Except, that it is regrettable that someone with such potential will never reach the fullest of their potential. You should put these last events as nothing more than a dream. This way you can live a little while longer."
For two days he completely shut himself down. Everything that he had worked towards was now gone. Even if he went to UA he would never achieve his dreams of being a hero. He was going to die within the next year.
How was he supposed to tell Eraserhead or Yagi this? Both men were looking forward to seeing him at UA. He was supposed to be All Might's successor. One for All could not die with him. He knew that much and neither could the EOTL. As much as he hated Yoochun for his current position that technique needed to survive. Did the man even know what he had done?
On the third night he went up to the roof. His thoughts were confused by everything.
A voice said from above him, "It looks like you have something on you mind. I was worried about you Midoriya Izuku. But you look better than I thought."
Izuku would forever deny the half yell half scream that came from him. Mun Gai stood behind him and immediately rushed to quieten him.
He whispered, "Don't do that now. This place is crawling with Murim alliance members. Now tell me kid, what the issue is."
Mun Gai didn't have to come to him but he did. So Izuku told him everything. The orc man sat against the wall drinking beer as he listened.
Mun Gai let out a large burp as he finished a beer, "You sure you don't want one kid?"
Izuku snapped, "No I dont want one! I'm under age! And who brings beer visiting someone in the hospital!"
"What happened that night was done for your sake. I know who damaged your ki center," Izuku knew this too but he kept quiet. No one else was to know that he was also the disciple of the Tiger, "Goomoonryong left you behind because his leader would kill you for being useless. The one who broke your center is know as the Lightning Tiger. He is your polar opposite. A Heavenly Paths Master and an activated one at that. He could have killed everyone there including your master. Instead he damaged your center and left. There is more in the works now than ever. You need to watch your back. Your master has likely left you something behind. That's just the way things are between master and disciple. Find it and you will find your answers. Now that I have seen you I'm off."
Wait he wasn't going to?! Sure enough the man jumped off the edge of the roof. That man really was an orc. No way a human could survive that.
It wasn't until three more days had passed that he was finally released. Then it was another two before he could go to school. Even that was at his very loud insistence that he was fine going to school.
As school was finishing up on his second day back he heard, "There's a whole pack of luxury sedans outside. Do you think it's the mafia?"
Izuku kept his head down. This wasn't his problem. Ever since word had gotten out that he knocked out Chang Ho students were challenging him left and right. It was hard to get any peace. To his surprise however Bakugo kept his distance. He seemed to get some amusement from Izuku's predicament.
As soon as the bell rang he was out of the classroom and into the hall. He had to make it outside before he got caught by the newest set of bullies. He didn't want to fight anyone especially normal people. It would draw too much attention to him.
The moment he got to the gate someone yelled, "It's him!"
Figures in nice dress suits came out of the sedans. There had to be at least three or four dozen people. Izuku got the strangest feeling that they were Murim. Even though he was told he would be left alone from now on.
Every single person crossed their hands in front of them and bowed deeply. As one they said, "We, the Retainers of the Sunwoo clan, pay our respects to the new Clan Head!"
Come again? They had to have the wrong person. There was no way he was the new clan head.
"Did we surprise you," came the soft question from behind him. That voice was familiar but far softer than he remembered it being in their last encounter.
He turned to find Gyu Bum standing behind him. What in the hell was he doing there?
The man said with a fox like grin, "Forgive us. We decided to come in force today, since everyone wanted to pay their respects."
The bullies who had been following him couldn't have left faster if they were smoke. It was funny to watch and he was grateful for the help.
Izuku said not meeting the other's eyes, "Not that I'm not grateful for your help but I think you have the wrong person. I'm..."
Gyu Bum interrupted with a small smile tugging at his lips, "No. I'm a here to meet Goomoonryong's disciple. That person is indeed Midoriya Izuku. Now then shall we go?"
"Go where?"
Gyu Bum bowed again as he replied, "To the new world of Murim that awaits you Izuku -nim."
"Hell no!"
End of part 1. Part 2 starts soon. Not the end of the fic.
