Summary: With the assault on the Yakuza in full swing, Izuku and Eri make a break for it. Izuku gains something to even the playing field, and win.
Chapter 13: Let them hear your Roar
Outside the main compound of the Shie Hassaikai, two guards stood watch, though, at such a late hour, they were relying more on the streetlights to ensure they could even see that far and so far, things were as quiet as they had always been. For night watchmen like them, they had an exciting time when a drunk or a homeless person approached but that was fleeting. "How are things with your girl?" One asked as he reached for his pack of cigarettes.
"Pretty good, we're gonna hit the club later." The other replied, scrolling through his phone with his attention half on what he was supposed to be doing.
"Tonight? You're gonna have to sleep in so you don't embarrass yourself." The first laughed as he placed a fresh cigarette in his mouth and used his quirk to light it, taking a long drag of it to soothe his nerves.
The other put his phone away, turning to his fellow guard and flipping him off for the not so wanted reminder of how he made a complete fool of himself the last time he went out. "I plan to, dumb-ass. We're on the night shift till the weekend. I can head home after this, pass out till 3 pm and then get ready." Oh yes, his bed was calling his name, all he had to do was wait another 4 hours before he clocked out and made his way home, not even the big guy in purple standing right in front of him could stop…that…
Before he could react to the man that had just appeared before him, he found himself being choked out by him. "Evening gentlemen!" Slidin's Go greeted as he choked the man out, the Yakuza looked towards his friend and saw that he was also being taken out, being wrapped up in binds of cloth coming from the alley, from said alley, another hero made their appearance known but he noticed something off with her, and with the big guy choking him, these guys were local pros.
He didn't have much time to realize what that meant before he was knocked out, Slidin's Go dropping his body to the ground where some police quickly cuffed him and dragged him and his buddy away. With the guards gone, and the security cameras facing them all looping footage from 30 minutes ago, the pros had time to approach the main entrance.
Slidin's Go turned to another of the heroes present, a hulking beast of a man that looked like someone mixed a bear with an elephant. The pro looked back at him, barely concealed excitement in his eyes. "You don't suppose we need to knock softly, do you?" Slidin's Go smiled at the question, stepping aside to let him work.
"Not at all. Make it loud." The mutant pro let out a trumpet of joy as he cracked his massive fists and stepped forward to the large gate.
"With pleasure." He pulled back his fist and with another trumpet of power from his elephant-like snort, he busted through the door, sending pieces of it flying into the compound, striking the building as the police and pros poured it, rushing the doors and busting them open to find the hall filled with surprised, half-asleep and most importantly, disorganised Yakuza members approaching them, their eyes widening in shock as they realized what had just occurred.
"What the hell?!"
"What was that?!"
"Shit, it's heroes!" They weren't given any quarter as the force of 15 pros and 50 police slammed into their disorganised ranks, taking down many as the pros cut through them like hot knives through butter, even the larger Yakuza found themselves taken out before they could counter with some being knocked aside by the Tusked Hero: Big 5, wrapped up in fibres from the Sowing Hero: Stylist or subdued by Slidin's Go to name a few. All while the highest-ranking police officer present read out a copy of the warrant that gave them cause to be there.
"This is the police! We have a warrant both to search the premises on the grounds of suspected illegal drug manufacturing and another for the arrest of Kai Chisaki on the suspicions of suspected illegal drug manufacturing!" She yelled over the fighting, her quirk-boosted voice making the need for a megaphone moot. As she finished her statement, one of the Yakuza tried to get the jump on her but she quickly tossed him over her shoulder, jumped on top of them and pulled their arm behind their back, reaching for her hand-cuffs with her other hand. "And that resist will he subdued and detained!"
With their numbers falling like flies, one of the Yakuza men further back realized that they were about to be overwhelmed and turned tail to run towards the secret entrance. 'Crap, I gotta go tell the boss!' He didn't realize that Stylist was watching him the entire time.
Deep underground, Kai was burning the midnight oil as he worked on perfecting his quirk delete formula, having come a long way, all that was missing was a real trial run and then mass production. His happy mood was ruined when he felt the place shake ever so slightly, shaking that was soon accompanied by shouting. "What's with all this noise?" He asked himself as he turned to Chrono and Mimic, the latter on the phone with their men up top. He quickly ended the call and turned to Overhaul.
"Boss, it's the police. They're raiding this place and also have hero support." Mimic informed him, getting a raised eyebrow from the man, but nothing else as he kept his surprise hidden.
"How did they manage this without our plants noticing anything?" He asked the man as he didn't spend resources for nothing, but to ensure that they would get a heads-up for this kind of situation.
"We don't know at the moment, but we can't stay here anymore as they have a warrant for your arrest," Mimic replied, unknown to the three was that their plants had been isolated from the planning for the attack. The local pros were kept in the dark and sent away from the area while the police were equally busy with busy tasks.
Still, Kai kept his cool as he stopped what he had been doing and changed his gloves. "Never let it be said that heroes don't find ways to be annoying," He noted as this had come at a truly inconvenient time for him. If they had struck in perhaps a week, he would have an equalizer but as it stands, he had just the 6 rounds to work with, 6 rounds that Chrono carried at all times.
Washing his hands and putting on another pair of clean gloves, he gave his orders as the shaking got worse, no doubt the fighting had fully spilt over into the underground. "Deploy the 8 bullets, I have to attend to something quickly. Chrono, see to it that our lynchpins are safely transported out. Mimic, make sure to slow them down, this place is a bust." He told the two as he made his way for the door, both nodding as he gave them their instructions.
"Understood." Walking out of the lab, he turned and walked away from the fighting down an empty hallway, his mind moving a mile minute as he tried to figure out how and why this was happening, and what he was supposed to do in the aftermath as he had invested most of his resources into the facilities here. If they managed to get to one of their other safehouses, his work will be slowed down considerably, then there was the issue of the warrant for his arrest. He had been incredibly careful to cover up anything that could be used against him, with his plants destroyed and evidence he didn't know about before it could ever be used against him.
But that was all gone now, as with an active warrant for his head, he would have to curtail his activities and ensure he wasn't seen out and about again, or else those sick pros would come down on him like the flies they were. All of which only made him angrier as spots started to form on his skin. 'An arrest warrant is annoying, and also suspicious as there is no way they have much dirt on me. Either way, even if it's a bluff to get the grunts to stand down, I can't take the chance, not when my dreams are so close to completion!' He thought to himself as he made his way to see the old man one last time, as much as he wished to take him with him, he knew there was only so much room in their getaway vehicle; room which he'll need to reserve for the two key pieces in his plans.
'I just need a little more time and then I'll have it, a masterpiece and I'm not about to let them take Eri and Izuku from me.' His eyes narrowed as he made his silent declaration. His research would be completed, he'll create the cure for this sick world and through it all, the Shie Hassaikai would rise to the top of it all, with him as the new King of the Underworld.
Some ways away from all this, Izuku tried to gently but quickly wake up the sleeping unicorn next to her. The older girl had already changed out of her nightgown and into one of the more liberal kimonos, one she could run in. "Eri…Eri, wake up, sweetie." The little girl's eyes started to open a little as she was couched up by her mother, the white-haired girl rubbing at her eyes.
"Wha…is it morning?" Eri asked, having gotten used to being woken up by momma, but for some reason, it felt like it was too early as she looked at the clock they had at their bedside and thanks to her mother's lessons, she could see that it was way too early, 6 hours too early.
Seeing her confusion, Izuku gave her a big smile, one filled with both fear and hope. "Yes, but it's super early, my little blessing." She replied right as there was another quake through the base, watching Eri up fully as she latched onto her momma, scared that something was happening.
"What was that?" Izuku calmed her by hugging her close and rubbing circles on her back, Eri listening in to the eager heartbeat of her momma.
"It's help, Blessing. It's help." She looked up at her momma's face and saw that she was relaxed, eager even which was new to her as few things made her eager. It was like all the shaking and noise was making her happy which she found incredibly strange. At that moment, there was a knock at the door, making her scared again as knocks at the door normally meant it was time for food or bad things, and it wasn't time for food.
Once more, Izuku hugged her close, but this time she whispered into her ear as she picked her up and grabbed something from under the mattress before she walked towards the door. "Follow my lead, I'll make sure you're safe and that we can leave this place." Eri didn't know what she meant by that, but it did spark something in her as she recalled the last time she got out, it was how she meant her momma so it must mean something good, right?
Opening the door, even if it was more a formality as she didn't have the keys to it, revealed that it was Chrono standing outside, alone. The man looked them up and down, letting out an approving huff as he noted that Izuku was already dressed. "You're up, good. Get ready, we're leaving."
"To where?" Izuku asked, one hand supporting Eri while another was at her side, weird, Chrono normally saw her carrying with both arms.
"You don't need to know that." He told her, turning to lead them down to where they had parked some escape cars, if all goes well, the roads will be empty at this hour and they could drive out of town within 30 minutes.
"I think I do," Izuku replied behind him, irritating the man as he knew that giving her so many liberties would make her rude. He turned around to tell her to follow or Eri will suffer for it.
"I won-ARG!" Only for him to see her rushing him, a glint in her free hand. Caught off guard, but still in much better shape than the skinny girl, he managed to avoid the shive running him through the heart, but Izuku managed to pivot and aim lower, driving the piece of metal right into his thigh, dropping the man as he tried to reach out to her with his clock hair but she dodged out of the way and bolted.
"Hold on, Eri!" She yelled as she turned the corner and left, the last he saw of them was Eri's terrified, surprised face before they disappeared as the man slammed his fist into the ground, looking at the shive still stuck in him with contempt, a shive that Izuku couldn't have gotten her hands on when everything she requested was checked beforehand, not unless she had help.
Realizing that had just happened, the man cursed as he pulled the makeshift weapon from his thigh, ripping at his coat to make a bandage to slow the bleeding till Overhaul could repair it. "Dammit! No way she just had that…she knew this would happen." He was going to ensure she paid for this, pay dearly as he reached for his phone and dialled the boss. "Boss, it seems that Midoriya knew the attack was coming and is making a break for it." He informed Overhaul, already predicting that he wasn't going to be happy about it.
"How did she get past you?" Overhaul asked him, his words angered and he knew that he would have a lot of explaining to do about this after they sought things out.
"She had a shive, caught me off guard but I managed to avoid the worst of it." He informed the man.
On the other end, Overhaul was walking out of the old man's room, his phone in hand while he oozed irritation. "A shive…no way that was merely chance. Which way did she go?" He asked, making a note to punish the girl severely for this latest stunt as he listened in to his second in command. "And you're still in their room?" Alright, so it wasn't all bad, Izuku didn't know much about the layout of the place, but even then, he wasn't about to let her get away as he thought of a good way to catch them, though it will mean surrendering more ground to the heroes storming his base.
"Okay, I'll handle things from here, you keep up the search for them." He ended the call and quickly dialled someone else. "Mimic, our two guests have decided to try and make a break for it, they should be somewhere in the west side 3rd section, handle it." He hung up before the man could reply but he didn't need to hear it as close to where the heroes are making headway, the man stopped and reached for the trigger he had brought with him. injecting it into his body, he powered through the pain as his form grew, shrunk and twisted under the boosted effects of his quirk before he merged with the building itself and made his way over to where the brats were running about.
Through a healthy combination of fear, adrenaline and stubborn determination, Izuku ran as fast as her weakened, skinny legs could carry her, Eri safe in her arms as they tried to find their way out. She wished to run straight for where the fighting was loudest, as that was where the people Curious had promised would come would be, but she also knew that with Chrono still alive, he would have reported back to Overhaul about them, so she needed to improvise and try and find a workaround as surely this place, built like a fucking maze would have more than one way to the surface.
Of course, it was just her luck that they weren't finding the path they needed and with the burn in her lungs and legs building, she needed to find a place they could hide in and either wait out the battle till help came, or rest up before running off again. A chance come up as she noted that there was a door coming up, one different to the many grey ones that had seen the entire time she had been running as it had a sign on it that read 'Storage', she didn't know what was stored there but odds are, they could hide in it so she made her way over, her breath coming our rushed and harsh as she opened the door, entered and slammed it shut behind her as fast as possible.
Sliding to her knees, she looked towards Eri in her arms and hugged her close. "Sorry for scaring you like that; I didn't have anything else planned to get away from him." Eri looked scared and confused as she couldn't understand why Izuku had just done that. She knew what would happen when they were caught, it was always bad to not follow Kai's words, and he could be very mean about it.
"But, but he'll be mad, and he'll tell Kai!" She tied to tell her, hoping that they could apologise and things would go back to normal, but it was normal that Izuku never wished for the girl, a normal she was eager to see broken.
"He can tell him all he wants, it won't mean a darn thing," She looked Eri in the eye, wiping away at her anxious, fear-filled tears as she kept a calming smile on her face, even if she was still a bit winded and sweaty from what was her most intense work-out in months. When they got out of her, she was signing up for a gym. "We're getting out of here, when the sun rises, we'll be free of this bad place, Eri, I promise." Eri stared at her for a moment, weighing it in her mind, the concern over what Kai would do when he found out, and the kindness of her momma. She hadn't lied to her, just like Kai had never lied, but there was a difference, momma had always made things better, never yelled at her, never made her feel sad and was always there for her.
She made her choice. "Pinkie promise?" She rose a hand towards Izuku, who smiled in gratitude as she locked fingers with her and shook on it.
"Pinkie promise. Now, give momma a second to catch her breath, and then we can continue moving." She explained as she slowly got back up, placing Eri down to allow her arms a moment to rest.
"Kay." Eri nodded her head as she looked back into the room, and saw that it was quite large, bigger than their bedroom by a lot. Around the place were shelves with lots of boxes with symbols she didn't know. "What is with this room? It's different to our room and the…other one."
Eager to distract Eri from the stressful situation, and learn more about Overhaul's operation, Izuku started to explain things. "It's for storage, it's like a giant toy chest for keeping stuff." Looking around the place, she saw that the boxes all held chemicals in them, most compounds were only labelled with the chemical sign rather than a word, so she couldn't make heads or tails on most of them but as she looked around with Eri at her side, she found one that controlled vials with a red liquid inside of them. On them wasn't a chemical but a word, that was Venom. 'Venom…that's the name of the drugs that they made from my cells, isn't it. Would explain why the room is a little chilly, he can't have his precious product spoiling.' She looked through it a little longer before she picketed one, theorising that she could need the boast if push came to shove. Unknown to her, was that on the other side of the box was another symbol, which read 'failed batch'.
It was as they search that they were spotted by a man within the walls. One that had been with them for quite a while and now with the Chrono waiting outside, he made his move. In the blink of an eye, a hole in the floor formed underneath Eri, the girl never saw it coming as she started to fall through it, much to her and Izuku's fear as the older girl jumped for her but was too slow as her fingers grazed Eri's before the floor slammed shut like a beastly maw, and with it, Mimic left-his job done.
At the loss of her daughter, and knowing that it could only be the result of one person among the ranks of the Yakuza, Izuku screamed in rage and panic as she started to beat the floor with her fist, trying and failing to get through it to save her daughter, to make sure that Mimic couldn't just send her back to that vile man, Overhaul. She wasn't given time to continue as the door slammed open, revealing a pissed-off Chrono, his clock hair already out and on its way to her, her mind clearing, at least at the moment, she thought fast and dived out of the way to avoid them, knowing that even a slight cut would be enough for his quirk to work and she couldn't afford to let him slow her down even for a moment. She had to find Eri, she had to!
Chrono wasn't going to make that easy, as even with all these shelves in the way, his hair could shoot through gaps with ease, making evasion all the harder. It didn't help that the man was furious with her after she not only stabbed at him with intent to kill, an act Izuku couldn't find it in herself to care about, she was going against Overhaul's plan with her rebellion, something that brought her a concerning amount of glee, the thought that she was causing that demon trouble, slowing him down, threatening his grand plans. Regardless of her feelings of joy at messing with him, Chrono was the opposite as his anger only continued to grow as he started to push down entire shelves to both corner her and get closer to her, the sounds of dozens of vials with chemicals she didn't know falling and shattering adding to the chaos.
Stepping through the mess, thanked the face she wore flat shoes that kept her safe from growing pools of chemicals and glass shards on the floor as she run through those shards, jumping, ducking and twisting her body in all manners of ways she could to avoid those hairs that could shoot out like a viper strike and return to their user just as fast. It was a dangerous quirk, especially for closed spaces like this, if he had wished, he would have been a wonderful hero but he hadn't…he hadn't chosen to help people, he had chosen to help Overhaul, and that made him an energy to take out. It was the only way she was getting out of her, she needed to ensure he couldn't report that he hadn't caught her. The only question was how? It needed to be quirk as she was running out of time, and space as Chrono closed the distance.
But then it hit her, she needed power and she had power in her pocket. This realization came not a moment too soon as she found that she had no more escape routes, so without a moment to reconsider, she pulled the vial from her pocket right before the eyes of Chrono who must have been wide in shock under that mask of his as she downed it.
Chrono didn't have the time to tell her not to do it, that that dose was imperfect and would surely kill her as before he could even utter the first word, she had already drunk the entire thing. To his horror, the effects were immediate as Izuku screamed in pain, falling to her knees before doubling over, rolling about through the shards and pools of chemicals from the pain of her body being forcibly changed through the botched steroid. She felt as if her body was tearing itself apart, that her very bones were on fire as nerve ending lit up across her body, nearly overwhelming her nervous system from the cascade of messengers it was receiving.
Chrono felt his anger grow, along with his concern as he had seen many test subjects in a similar position, seen how their bodies tried and failed to adjust to the massive, uncontrolled muscular and skeletal boast that the imperfect Venom would force on them. He didn't so much care for how her body was contorting, bulging and shrinking randomly as she retched out blood and bile for the sake of her health, but more for the sake of Overhaul's plans as her death would mean Venom was effectively an unrenewable resource now. Taking a breath, he started to wonder how he'll break the news to the boss when something…bizarre occurred.
Izuku's body, while very much still convulsing on the floor, started to slow down as against all odds, her body started to stabilize, but that should have been impossible, dozens had died taking that imperfect version of Venom, Overhaul only kept it around for experiments, so how was Izuku handling it?
For Izuku, the pain didn't rescind so much, but her mind remained clear, having felt worse during her first sessions with Overhaul where he would remove pieces of her body while she was still awake, only being held still by the effects of those damned clock hairs of Chrono. Through her pain, she grits her teeth and ceased her screams as her mind focused on saving her daughter who could have been in Overhaul's hands by now, she couldn't afford to just stay on the floor and die! She wasn't the same useless girl that couldn't achieve her dreams, or save Eri when they first met, she refused to be that girl anymore! In her heart, she knew that she would survive, and she was right as because the drug was made using her cells as its key ingredient, her body could do what no other could.
It could adapt to Venom, and grow from it.
To the horror of the Yakuza watching her, he watched as her screams ceased, as lost muscles returned to her frail frame but didn't stop as her body grew with this new bulk. In the silence that followed, Izuku slowly started to get up, her hands moving to help her, no sound from her as had hands, her skin proved too tough for the glass to cut through anywhere near as much as it did before. Taking deep, spaced-out breaths, she continued to rise before she stood at her full height, one that Chrono noted was far great than his own. A common trait in those who had been juiced up was that they tended to gain some height but it was always 2.5cm, maybe 5 but Izuku was triple the average.
"Eri…Momma's coming." Izuku spoke, seemingly forgetting that he was there in her power high as she looked at her enlarged hands, felt the power coursing through her body, and sensed how every muscle was performing at levels she could have never dreamed of before. Was this what it felt to be strong? She liked it. Seeing that she was out of it, Chrono shot out his hair right at her, centra mass but before the tip could hit, she stunned it by grabbing it, halting it an inch from her chest, and no matter how he tried, he couldn't retract her, her grip was ironclad. As he ground his teeth and tried to pull his hair back, Izuku finally looked up at him, her eyes nothing more than swirling green pools of acidic malice as she snarled at him.
"And you're in my way." Tightening her grip, she pulled him towards her using his hair like a rope, the strength boosts the venom granted her proving more than enough to lift him off his feet and sending him flying towards her with a yelp. A yelp that turned into a pained cough as she pulled her other hand back and drove a fist so hard into his liver, he was surprised he didn't immediately pass out from the pain as the blow robbed him of his breath and sent him crashing into one of the few remaining shelves, sending that tumbling down with him laid out on top of it, pained, confused and barely able to stand after that punch.
Looking at him with an increasing amount of hatred and violent intent, Izuku let off of the hair strands she had, having pulled out quite a lot from the man in that last exchange. Looking at the downed man, where she would have once felt pity for him, or held to the creed that one should only fight villains to the point of subduing them, she couldn't find that in herself anymore, she didn't want to give him that mercy anymore.
Reaching for his side, Chrono hissed in pain as he knew he had a nasty bruise forming there. Looking forwards, he was met by the sight of the towering figure walking towards him, and for the first time in years, fear shot through him, a fear of something other than Overhaul, other than failure.
He feared for his life.
"You have no idea how much I wanted to pay you all back, to make you suffer." She told him as she approached him, cracking her knuckles as she thought of all the ways she could break his body like a twig, to leave him unrecognisable as a person. She thought back to some of the ways Bakugo and his cronies made her like hell and saw that through a few tweaks here and there, she could take inspiration from that, oh yes, that would do nicely.
Her musing of bloody violence was cut short when she heard a gun being fired and then felt a slight pain in her side. Looking at it, she saw that the bastard had shot her, but to both their shock, followed by his fear and her glee, she saw that her supercharged muscles hadn't given way, that the bullet, a bullet that should have gone through and through if not nicked her lung, hadn't even pierced that deep, the wound comparable to being shot by a pellet gun. "Amazing, I'm not bulletproof but my durability is certainly improved greatly," She smiled at him, a demented thing, far from the ones she would have given her mother before this, from the ones she gave Eri whenever she was scared and needed her momma. It was a smile of a beast let loose for the first time, of a girl that wanted blood and had a fresh body present to her.
Approaching the shaking man, she looked down at him with her acidic green eyes swimming with madness and hate towards him, towards his boss, towards his very existence. "You guys really outdid yourselves with all those painful, inhumane experiments you did on my daughter and me, it almost makes me want to spare you." She continued to smile, even as he tried to shoot again, this time with his clock-hand hair to try and slow her down and buy himself precious time, but she was ready for it as with her smile still on, she grabbed the hair and pulled, hard. The man screamed as the hair was ripped from his scarp, blood started to pour from where many of the strands were once connected while the rest of his hair was too damaged and short to be of any use, but she didn't give him the chance.
She lifted a foot and brought it down on the hand carrying his pistol, crushing his fingers, and rendering his hand useless. "Almost. But more than that, I want to repay you ten-fold for all of it." She glared at him, seeing him as nothing more than a bug that was due to be squashed but even in his injured state, even with his gun and hair no longer viable, he wouldn't give her the satisfaction of seeing him beg, so he returned the glare the best he could.
"Yo-you're..a bane! You just had to fight back! You won't win, Overhaul's dream will become real, and you'll useless body will pave the way for it." He spat in her face in his disgust for her and her supposed righteousness, her foolishness stood in the way of Overhaul's dreams and he would never forgive that.
His reward for his retort was Izuku reaching for the rest of his hair and casually pulling that off as well, not caring for his screams of pain as she left him with a largely, bleeding head as she tossed the bloody hair strands to the side, smiling as she noted that that was even easier than the first time, almost like her body was gaining in power.
She thought about what he had called her, how he saw her not as a useless Deku she had been her whole life, not as the foolish girl that was in the wrong place at the wrong time as the rest of the Yakuza thought of her as, no...she was more than than. She was a curse, a blight…a Bane. Her smile grew even more twisted and gleeful as she clapped her bloodied hands together and looked down at him like it was a small dog that had just done something cute. "Bane….I like that, yes. That's what I am, I'm the Bane of your existence,"
She grabbed his head and lifted it, and aimed for a part of the shelf which looked hard enough, looking at him one final time. "Just know that you'll be seeing your boss again after I've made him watch as it all falls." She didn't give him a chance to respond as she slammed his head into the shelf as hard as she could, again, and again, and again. His body spasmed with each impact, blood spattering former after the 3rd impact at which point, she let go, the man's eyes were dazed, glazed over but he was still breathing. Smiling that he was still alive and…conscious enough, she got up and picked him up by the foot before she threw him into the ceiling, his body smacking into the hard concrete with an audible thud as the man let out a grasp of her, a grasp that turned bloody as upon his return to earth, she punched him in the gut with an uppercut so fast and hard that he might as well coughed up his innards with the amount of blood and bile that let his mouth.
The force sent him back into the ceiling with an even harder thud, and when his body came falling a second time, she grabbed his arm and swung him around like a rag-doll, slamming him into anything and everything, not caring for how his arm broke just from how she grabbed him midfall in his fall, the sudden jolt and change in direction near ripping his arm from its socket, but she didn't care. The sounds of his body breaking only increased her mad joy. After 20 seconds of this agony, she stopped and held him up by his now thoroughly shattered arm, his body close to it in terms of how broken, and bruised it looked as she dropped him like a sack of potatoes before she mounted him and ripped the broken mask from his face, revealing what was once a pretty face, now purple and red as he had a black eye, busted nose and what were sure to be a few missing teeth.
But it wasn't enough for her as she wanted him to pay, and what he went through wasn't nothing, it wasn't enough!
With a beastly roar tearing itself from her throat, she lifted her arms high and started raining down punches, each one hitting like a hammer, one after the other. It didn't matter that he stopped moving a while ago, it didn't matter that her fists kept coming back bloody from the increasing trauma she was giving the man, it didn't matter that she must have rattled his brain around his ever-cracking skull enough time for him to have suffered the same number of concussions as pro boxers would get in their entire careers.
It didn't matter because it wasn't enough! He needed to suffer for everything he put her through, for helping make his blessing's life a living hell, for making her watch as they tore into her for their sick, twisted goals!
She only stopped when her punch broke through and struck his brain, crashing the organ underneath her fist and sending bits of it, along with skull fragments flying. Breaking heavily, the battle drunkenness fading, she got up to her feet and observed her work. As she had wished, he was unrecognizable. His face was gone, replaced with a bloody mess, an eye having been crashed sometime during her beatdown of him while the other laid to the side, the nerve keeping it connected to him. his brains were all over the place, including on her while the rest of his body was a broken, purple mess with bones visible broken, facing the wrong way or pocking out of the skin.
Despite this grotesque sight, although she had been the one to do this to another human being…she felt pleased. Not even the blood splatter across her chest, face and arms could stop the feelings of glee shooting through her as she had done it. she had made Overhaul's top guy pay, and turned him to paste! And it felt oh so good! Now, if she coud-
No! She needed to focus, she had something more important, she had a daughter to save. Just before she turned around, she spotted something in his coat, a small case. Her curiosity won out, she reached for it and took it, it wasn't like he would need it in whatever pits of hell he found himself in, and inside she saw something that made her heart stop.
She saw six bullets, though not made from lead but rather, they were little containers with needles on the end. She had heard the two talk about them, and could only think of one thing they could be, something so important that only Overhaul's right-hand man would be privy to carrying.
The quirk destroyer rounds.
Looking around for a moment, she saw the gun that Chrono had used on her, in the corner where she had sent him flying the first time, and quickly raced over and picked it up, unloading its normal bullets and clumsily loading in 2 of the quirk deleters, keeping the other 4 in the case which she pocketed.
Perhaps it was time for Kai to experience the fruits of his labour…up close and personal.
Finally watched the 2nd movie, and I enjoyed it. Also, I agree with the author, it IS canon…it also means that canon is even messier than the first movie, why does nothing that happens in this movie seem to have any effect on events after it? The movie takes place around the end of the Joint Training arc, but before My Villian Academia yet not a single thing that happens is even hinted at.
The students did all that, and yet not one time is the events and battles they waged ever even hinted at. I mean, he got his way out with Bakugo, as the boy doesn't remember that he ever had OFA, but surely Izuku would think about it, and surely the vestiges inside OFA would bring this up later in the story, hell the whole battle with Nine should have been a major shake-up to hero society as while the students won, they fought a dude that could destroy small islands and they never found his body, this would be something on everyone's minds, especially after the destruction on the war arc as both times, cities were destroyed by the power of single villains, with Nine's attack seemingly a prelude to the destruction that Gigantomachia could bring…but nope, none of that matters.
Yes, Horikoshi made them canon, but I think that should come with the asterisk that the movies were stuff he WANTED to put into the manga and anime, but didn't have the chance to as it took till season 6, for stuff from the first movie which came out when season 2 was airing, to become a thing in the manga and anime, those things being the support gear that Mellissa made for Deku to help him fight at his best without worry for blowback.
The next chapter will be posted July 7th with early access on p-a-treon on July 5th.
