In the dimly lit alley, Ryoga stood his ground, determined to find his kidnapped sister. His search had led him to this ominous place, where he was confronted by Maxwell, the imposing leader of a notorious gang. In a cold and calculated manner, Maxwell issued a challenge to Ryoga. If he wanted any hope of seeing his beloved sister again, he would have to defeat Maxwell in a duel.
The clash of the two echoed through the narrow alley as Ryoga desperately fought against Maxwell. Ryoga seemed to have the upper hand at first, but Maxwell's two loyal underlings suddenly joined in the battle. The two underlings joined the duel with only 2000 Life Points as penalty for joining mid-duel. Beads of sweat formed on Ryoga's forehead, as Maxwell's group started to take the lead.
Maxwell, a tall and menacing figure with a sinister grin, seemed to revel in Ryoga's struggles, his underlings leering from the sidelines, reveling in their leader's apparent dominance. the power of Maxwell being possessed by the Barians overwhelmed him. Ryoga's deck, typically a force to be reckoned with, struggled to find its rhythm in the face of Maxwell's relentless assault. The duel hung in the balance, teetering between hope and despair.

Ryoga's eyes blazed with fury as he locked eyes with Maxwell, his voice echoing through the alley. "You're nothing but a cheater and a coward!" he shouted, his words cutting through the tension. "Calling your underlings to join the duel against me? Is that how you plan to win?"
Maxwell's evil grin widened, his voice dripping with malice. "Complain all the fuck you want, weakling. It won't change a thing. I'm taking your Number Cards, and there's nothing you can do about it." His underlings chuckled, their smug expressions fueling Ryoga's anger even further.
A green aura suddenly started emanating from a small spot at the top of a nearby building as Ren appeared from it, his teleportation successful. He observed Ryoga's duel closely, his keen eyes scanning the scene without being seen by anyone.
Ren's amused expression grew as he watched the intense duel unfold before him. His lips curled into a faint smile as he muttered to himself, "Let's see if all the training I subtly gave you was truly fruitful or merely a wasted effort. Don't disappoint me now, Nash." Ren had taken it upon himself to mentor Ryoga, albeit without the person in question noticing.
With unwavering determination, Ryoga shouted, "My turn, Draw!" His hand trembled with anticipation as he drew his next card.
"I activate the effect of my Level 3 Tripod Fish!" Ryoga exclaimed. "Since my Tripod Fish was Special Summoned from the Graveyard last turn, its level increases by 1!"
The Level 3 Tripod Fish underwent a mystical transformation, growing in power and ascending to Level 4. Its watery aura shimmered with renewed vigor, ready to face any challenge that lay ahead.

But Ryoga wasn't done yet. He focused his attention on his hand once more, selecting another card of opportunity. "I Normal Summon Double Fin Shark!" he announced with conviction. With a flourish, he played the card, and a fierce, twin-finned shark materialized on his side of the field.
Ryoga's Double Fin Shark surged forward, its sharp teeth shining in the light. With the Tripod Fish by its side, a formidable duo stood ready to turn the tide of the duel.

"Double Fin Shark's effect activates!" he declared, his voice filled with confidence. "If this card is used as an XYZ Material for the XYZ Summon of a Water Monster, it is treated as two Monsters!"
Maxwell watched with a mix of curiosity and concern as Ryoga's strategy unfolded. Under the arrogant facade, he knew that Ryoga was a formidable duelist, and his latest move only served to further demonstrate that fact.
"I Overlay the Level 4 Tripod Fish and Double Fin Shark! With these 2 monsters I build the Overlay Network! XYZ Summon!" Ryoga exclaimed, swiftly placing the two monsters on top of each other. The air crackled with energy as their forms merged, giving birth to a powerful vortex of water.
"Show yourself, Number 32! The most powerful ruler of the deep sea! Your sharp fangs shall exterminate everything! Marine Biting Dragon - Shark Drake!" Ryoga shouted, his voice echoing throughout the alley. The vortex transformed into a massive, fearsome creature—standing upright menacingly is a red colossal shark drake, radiating an aura of pure viciousness.

The atmosphere sparked with intensity as the colossal shark drake prepared to unleash its devastating power.
"Depth Bite!" With a thunderous roar, Shark Drake opened its massive jaws wide, and from within, a blast of energy surged forth. The beam, resembling a ferocious shark with razor-sharp teeth, streaked towards the opposing monster with incredible speed as it tore through the air, making its way towards Maxwell's Monster.
"Not so fast you son of a bitch! I activate my Trap Card, Junkyard Demolition! It negates the attack of your monster. Furthermore, you'll receive damage equal to half the original attack points your Shark Drake has!" Maxwell grinned triumphantly as the beam of energy from Ryoga's Shark Drake was abruptly halted by his Trap Card, leaving Ryoga's monster momentarily stunned.

Ryoga: 3200 - 1800 LP
"Nice try, brat," Maxwell taunted, his voice dripping with confidence. "But you'll have to do better than that if you want to defeat me."
Ryoga's fists clenched tightly as frustration and desperation coursed through his veins. His sister's life hung in the balance, and he couldn't afford to falter now. The weight of the situation pressed down on him, threatening to crush his spirit.
Just as he was about to succumb to his mounting anger and impatience, a voice echoed in his mind. It was Ren's voice, soothing and filled with unbreakable resolve. "Ryoga, remember why you started this journey. Remember the promise you made to protect your sister. You have the strength within you to overcome any obstacle. Don't give up now!"
Ryoga blinked in surprise, questioning whether he was truly hearing his best friend's voice or if it was a figment of his imagination. Yet, the words resonated deep within his heart, stirring a renewed sense of hope. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to regain his composure.
"Thank you, Ren. Yet again, you saved me from my own incompetence." Ryoga whispered quietly, a genuine gratitude welling up from within him. Even if it was just his mind playing tricks on him, the presence of his best friend, even in spirit, meant the world to him. It reminded him of the bond they shared, the unyielding support that had carried them through countless battles.
Ryoga took a deep breath, his resolve strengthening as he surveyed the formidable monster now standing before him. "I turn down two cards from my hand and end my turn," he declared, placing the cards facedown on his Duel Disk. His fighting spirit was slowly coming together, and he trusted in his deck to provide him with the tools he needed to turn the tides.
Maxwell started his turn and declared, "Draw!" With a swift motion, he drew a card from his deck, his sinister smirk widened. He glanced at his CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, a powerful monster standing at 2600 ATK.
Maxwell's confidence surged as he held up an Equip Spell Card. "I activate Barricade of Steel! I can equip this to my monster and it gains 1000 attack points!" he announced. The card shimmered, releasing a surge of energy that enveloped his Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral. The monster's form radiated with energy as its ATK soared to an impressive 3600, surpassing Ryoga's Shark Drake by 2800 ATK.

Ryoga's eyes widened as he realized the sudden shift in power. But despite the setback, Ryoga's courage didn't waver. He knew that defeat was not an option, not when the bonds he held dear were at stake.
Maxwell decided to take his insults a step further. With a sly grin, he pointed at Ryoga's Shark Drake, belittling him. "Ha! Seems like you're only good at barking chump." Maxwell sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "Fucking pathetic, really! Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, attack that bastard's Shark Drake!"
Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, a towering mechanical beast, sprung to life at Maxwell's command. It charged forward, its gears whirring, ready to obliterate Shark Drake and deliver a crushing blow to Ryoga's life points.
But Ryoga wasn't one to back down easily. He swiftly retaliated, determined to get back at him. His eyes sparkled with a steely resolve as he countered Maxwell's insult.
"Oh, yeah? You call these cheap shots the real thing? I've seen fatherless kids do better than this!" Ryoga retorted, his voice laced with equal parts defiance and sarcasm. "This is why you'll forever need your sorry ass dogs with you. You can't do shit by yourself!"
With a confident smirk, Ryoga declared, "I activate my Trap Card, Zeus Breath!" A powerful surge of energy erupted from the card, enveloping the battlefield and momentarily blinding Maxwell.
"What?!" Maxwell exclaimed, caught off guard by the sudden turn of events.
The golden aura of Zeus Breath washed over Shark Drake, shielding it from harm and nullifying Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral's attack. But that wasn't all. The Trap Card held an additional effect, one that inflicted damage on Maxwell directly.
"Prepare yourself, Stray Dog!" Ryoga declared, a smirk playing on his lips. "Zeus Breath not only negates your pathetic attack but also inflicts 800 points of damage to you!"
As the electric shockwaves of Zeus Breath subsided, Maxwell winced in agony. The sudden jolt of pain rocked his body, causing his life points to plummet from 2900 to 2100.

"Gah! God fuckin' dammit, that stings you brat!" Maxwell cursed through gritted teeth, his frustration evident. The insult he had intended to hurl at Ryoga backfired, leaving him seething with annoyance. "I set down 1 card, Turn end!"
As Thug 1 began his turn, a malicious smirk crept across his face. He swiftly drew a card, his confidence growing with each passing moment. "I Normal Summon Metal Punk and activate its effect! I can Special Summon 1 Level 3 or below "Metal" Monster from my Hand! I Special Summon Metal Gangster!" he exclaimed, causing the mechanical warrior to emit a loud noise. From the depths of metal trash, another metallic figure came onto the field, Metal Gangster.

"Now, I'll use these two monsters to XYZ Summon the Rank 3 'Metal Mafia Hitman!'" Thug 1 announced triumphantly. The two lower-ranked monsters merged together, their energies converging to give rise to the towering figure of Metal Mafia Hitman, a creature that exude power and dominance.

"Not only that, I activate Metal Mafia Hitman's effect! Once per turn, I can detach one Overlay Unit from this card, I can decrease your Monster's attack points based on half of the detached Overlay Unit's Original attack points!" He swiftly removed Metal Punk from Metal Mafia Hitman as it shot a glowing bullet at Shark Drake.
Shark Drake growled in frustration as the glowing bullet struck its body. The once-mighty sea serpent looked visibly weakened, but its ruthlessness remained unwavering. "Since Metal Punk has 1000 attack points, your Shark Drake's attack points are lowered by 500!" Thug 1 explained.

Thug 1, reveling in his successful move, flashed a triumphant grin. "Battle!" he declared, his voice dripping with confidence. "Metal Mafia Hitman, attack Shark Drake!"
Metal Mafia Hitman, a towering figure donned in metal armor, roared and lunged forward, charging at Ryoga's Shark Drake. With a swift swing of its metallic arm, it unleashed a devastating strike aimed at its weakened foe.
Ryoga looked confident as he watched the Metal Mafia Hitman charging towards his Shark Drake. With a defiant smirk on his face, he shouted, "Is that the best you've got? You might as well be swinging a tin can!"
As the armored hitman closed in, Ryoga swiftly raised his hand, activating his Trap Card with a thunderous voice. "I activate my Trap Card Forced Adaptation! When an opponent's monster declares an attack, All Attack Position monsters that they control lose 800 attack points for each monster they control. You only have Metal Mafia Hitman, so it'll only lose 800 attack points!" he declared. The air sparkled with energy as the card's effect took hold. A surge of power swept through the battlefield, causing the Metal Mafia Hitman to stagger for a moment.
Ryoga's Trap Card took effect, and the monstrous hitman's strength waned. Its ATK dropped from 3000 to a mere 2200, while Shark Drake's ATK remained at 2300. The balance of power had shifted in Ryoga's favor.

"Now it's my turn, Draw!" Thug 2 declared with a serious tone. As he drew his card, a wicked smile crept across his face. He glanced at his hand and realized he had just what he needed to turn the tables on Ryoga.
With a sinister laugh, Thug 2 declared, "I activate the effect of two of my Metal Underlings from my hand! I can attach it to Maxwell's XYZ Monster CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, I can amplify its vigor and activate its true power again!"
The monstrous mechanical angel, 'CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral,' absorbed the energy of the Metal Underling, causing its form to transform and grow even more menacing. Its wings expanded, exuding a dark energy that filled the battlefield. Maxwell, chuckled with glee from his monster's strengthening.
Ryoga clenched his teeth in annoyance, recognizing the imminent threat. He knew he had to find a way to disable Maxwell's CXyz Monster.
"I'm not done yet!" Evil Thug 2 exclaimed, his voice dripping with malice. "I Normal Summon Metal Gangster in the attack position and activate my Spell Card, 'Machine of Chaos'!" As he played the card, an eerie aura engulfed the dueling field, resonating with an unsettling power as Metal Gangster appeared.

"When I activate this card, I can deal 400 damage for each monster on the field! At this moment, there are four monsters on the field. Shark Drake, CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, Metal Gangster, and Metal Mafia Hitman."
Calculating the combined might of these creatures, Evil Thug 2 sneered triumphantly. "400 damage for each monster on the field. With these four monsters, that's a total of 1,600 damage, for you!"
Maxwell let out a booming laugh, reveling in his underling's successful attack against Ryoga. The malicious grin on his face widened as he mocked the fallen duelist, relishing in the satisfaction of his temporary victory.
"Hah! Looks like your luck has run out." Maxwell taunted, his voice dripping with derision. "This duel is over, kid."
As the Spell Card 'Machine of Chaos' was activated, a surge of dark energy pulsed through the alley. A massive metal robot materialized, towering over the scene with a menacing presence. Its mechanical joints whirred and groaned as it brandished a colossal hammer, glowing with electric energy.
Ryoga's eyes widened in horror as he realized the impending danger. He attempted to evade the looming strike, but his reflexes were too slow. The giant hammer came crashing down with thunderous force, connecting with Ryoga's body. Agonizing pain shot through him, and he was sent hurtling through the air, his body crashing onto a heap of garbage nearby.
The impact was jarring, and the world around Ryoga faded into darkness. He lay motionless, unconscious and battered, as his Life Points plummeted from 1800 to a mere 200, a stark reminder of the dire situation he found himself in.
Ryoga: 1800 - 200 LP
Ren stood perched on the rooftop of a nearby building, hidden from view from anyone. His eyes were fixed on Ryoga's motionless form sprawled on the ground below. The impact had been brutal, and Ren could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on him. "Now is the time, Nash," he muttered to himself, his voice barely a whisper carried away by the wind. "Your trial is about to begin, and I have faith in you. Don't disappoint me."
Ren's heart raced as he watched the unconscious Ryoga lying there, seemingly defeated. He knew that this battle, both physical and metaphorical, was not just about the game they played. It represented something greater—a test of Ryoga's resilience, determination, and the strength of his character.
As Ryoga lay unconscious amidst the garbage, Maxwell and his thugs approached him with smirks on their faces. Maxwell looked down at Ryoga with disdain, his voice dripping with mockery.
"Well, well, well, looks like our hero has fallen," Maxwell sneered, his voice laced with malice. "In the end, you're just a fucking brat with an inflated ego."
His thugs chuckled behind him, their laughter echoing through the desolate alley. Maxwell leaned closer to Ryoga's motionless body and continued taunting him, knowing full well that his words would fall on deaf ears.
"Time's running out, kid." Maxwell said, his tone dripping with sadistic delight. "You know what happens if the clock hits zero, right? You lose the duel, and with it, your precious sister. But I suppose that's already in shambles after this beating."
The thugs erupted into laughter again, their jeers mixing with the distant sounds of the city. Maxwell's words seemed to hang in the air, a cruel reminder of Ryoga's current predicament. Unconscious and battered, he was defenseless against his opponents and oblivious to their insults.
Maxwell took a step back, surveying the fallen duelist with a mix of satisfaction and disdain. He relished in his victory, reveling in the fact that he had reduced his once-formidable opponent to a mere shadow of his former self.
"Now, let's see how long you can cling to the remnants of your pride," Maxwell said, a wicked glint in his eyes. "Tick-tock, brat. Tick-tock."
Ryoga slowly regained consciousness, his head throbbing as he tried to piece together what had happened. Confusion washed over him as he realized he was no longer in the grimy alley where he had been locked in combat just moments ago. Instead, darkness surrounded him, and he found himself standing in an unknown place.
As he scanned his surroundings, a deep, resonant voice pierced the silence, calling out to him with an air of authority. "Young Emperor," it echoed, sending a shiver down Ryoga's spine. He instinctively turned to face the source of the voice, his eyes widening with both fear and intrigue.
There before him stood a colossal figure, shrouded in an impenetrable cloak of shadows. It towered over him, casting an ominous presence that seemed to bend reality itself. The only discernible features were the pair of piercing red glows emanating from where its eyes should be. It was an awe-inspiring sight—a dragonlike creature unlike anything Ryoga had ever encountered.
Gathering his courage, Ryoga stuttered in amazement, his voice barely above a whisper. "W-Who... Who the hell are you?"
The shadowy giant figure seemed to acknowledge his question with a subtle movement, its eyes fixated on Ryoga. The voice, deep and commanding, resonated once more, carrying a sense of ancient wisdom. "I am one of this world's First Creations, the Supreme King Dragon that rules all Phantasmal Beasts. I have come to you as you near the brink of defeat, by the request of a mutual friend." it replied, its words filled with an enigmatic authority.
"The time has come to test your strength and resolve as an Emperor," the figure declared, its voice resonating with even greater gravitas and divinity. Each breath it took seemed to compel obedience, enveloping Ryoga in an aura of power.
Confusion and curiosity swirled within him as he struggled to comprehend the figure's cryptic words. He stammered, his voice filled with uncertainty, "W-What are you talking about?"
"As an Emperor, you are one of the seeds holding sway over the fate of not only this world, but this universe as a whole." the figure said, its voice resonating with an otherworldly echo. Ryoga listened intently, his confusion deepening. The weight of the figure's words bore down upon him, and he felt a mixture of awe and trepidation.
"I don't understand," Ryoga admitted, his voice trembling with uncertainty. "How can I, a normal human, hold such power?"
The figure's presence seemed to intensify, as if it expanded to fill the entire space around them. Its eyes, shining with crimson light, pierced through Ryoga's very soul. "The universe is a complex tapestry of interconnected threads," the figure explained, its voice carrying a sense of profound wisdom. "Within it, there are forces vying for dominance, seeking to shape the destiny of all existence."
Ryoga's eyes widened, his mind racing to grasp the enormity of what he was hearing. "Are you saying that I have a huge role to play in this whole thing?" he asked, a feeling of disbelief coursing through him.
The figure grumbled affirmatively, its movements slow and deliberate. "Indeed, you possess a unique potential. It lies dormant within you, waiting to be awakened. That time will come soon, but for now, there's something much more important to be taken care of. Something related to you."
"What's that?" Ryoga briefly asked.
The figure looked at Ryoga with a mix of curiosity and concern, "The contrasting fates of the red-eyed hero and the blue priestess by your side will bring about much hardship, much like the cataclysms this world is about to encounter." the figure continued, its voice filled with an air of foreboding. "Knowing that, you still reach for the skies?"
Ryoga's mind raced as he tried to make sense of the figure's words. His thoughts immediately went to his little sister Rio, she seemed to be the one closest to him to fit the criteria for the blue-haired priestess the figure was talking about. But who was the red-eyed hero the figure referred to? Ryoga's thoughts focused on his best friend, Ren, whose eyes were a striking shade of crimson. Could Ren be the one mentioned by the figure? It would explain why he felt the natural connection between Rio and Ren.
Realization dawned upon Ryoga, and everything seemed to fall into place. The figure's words hinted at a destiny intertwined with both Rio and Ren, a destiny that carried immense challenges and hardships. And yet, despite the impending catastrophies and the uncertain future, Ryoga felt an unwavering resolve within him.
"Absolutely." Ryoga replied, his voice firm and resolute. "Knowing the hardships that lie ahead, I will continue to reach for the skies. I won't let fear or uncertainty hold me back."
"The intertwining fates of the two will ultimately bring about the ruin of all worlds," the figure continued, their voice laden with a mix of warning and curiosity. "Whom will you choose when that time comes? Your crimson-eyed friend who treats you like his own flesh and blood, or the one who's your one true family?"
Ryoga's gaze hardened as he locked eyes with the colossal figure. "I'll save both of them." he declared firmly, his voice resonating with determination. In that moment, he felt a surge of certainty flowing through his veins, empowering him to face the daunting challenges ahead.
"What a bold thing to say." the figure remarked, their tone laced with intrigue. Ryoga's iron will had clearly caught them off guard, and a confident smirk graced his lips. He had no intentions of playing into the figure's divisive narrative. Instead, he would forge a path that defied the prophecy, one that protected those he held dear without sacrificing anyone.
Turning his attention back to the figure, Ryoga spoke with purpose. "You talk about intertwining fates and impending ruin, but I refuse to accept that as our only path. I will carve my own destiny, one that saves both Rio and Ren, one that protects our worlds instead of destroying them. You can call it bold, stupid even. But I call it necessary."
The figure's glowing eyes narrowed, and a hint of a smile played on their lips, or at least, that's what they probably looked like if it weren't enveloped in darkness. It seemed both intrigued and impressed by Ryoga's intense fighting spirit.
The figure's voice resonated through the darkness as they asked their final question, their tone laced with curiosity and a touch of admiration. "And now for my final question. What is it that drives your conviction? How do you so fearlessly embark on this journey toward destruction?"
Ryoga's mind immediately drifted back to his most cherished memories, the ones that fueled his strength and gave him the power to face the unknown. Images of his sister, Rio, flashed before his eyes, their laughter echoing in his ears. He saw her radiant smile, her empowering support, and the bond they shared. In that moment, he realized that protecting her was his greatest motivation.
But it wasn't just Rio who inspired him. A montage of moments played in his mind, memories of the friends he had made along his arduous journey. Ren, Yuma, Astral, Kaito and the others, he recalled the countless battles they fought together, the victories and defeats they experienced side by side. Each of them had their own reasons to fight, their own dreams and hopes entwined with his own.
With a resolute smile, Ryoga turned his gaze back toward the figure. "I'm not alone. Not anymore," he declared, his voice brimming with conviction. "I will protect my sister and my friends, and together, we will face whatever challenges come our way."
The figure remained silent, their glowing eyes studying Ryoga intently. The darkness that cloaked them seemed to quiver ever so slightly, as if moved by the sincerity and might of his words. Finally, a low chuckle escaped from the figure's hidden lips, carrying a hint of genuine amusement.
"Hmph, I suppose that is what gives you strength as an Emperor," the figure said, its voice echoing through the dark area. The words carried a mix of admiration and acceptance. Ryoga narrowed his eyes, refusing to be swayed by the figure's condescending tone.
"Such childish resolve... such fragile strength," the figure continued, its words laced with a touch of disdain. "And yet, I cannot deny the possibility that lies within..." The darkness surrounding the figure glowed.
Ryoga listened intently, his determination unwavering. He knew that even the mightiest adversaries could be swayed, given the right opportunity. His heart pounded in his chest as he stood his ground, his courage unbroken despite the figure's unsettling presence. The surrounding darkness seemed to pulse with an eerie energy, heightening the tension in the air. Ryoga clenched his fists, ready for whatever lay ahead.
"Very well," the colossal shadow figure finally spoke, its voice resonating with an air of finality. The words carried a mix of acknowledgment and approval. "You have won my approval, Ryoga Kamishiro, and for that, you shall receive my gift."
Ryoga's eyes widened slightly, surprised by the figure's unexpected change in demeanor. He knew better than to let his guard down, but curiosity mingled with caution within him. What kind of gift could such a formidable being bestow upon him?
The darkness surrounding the figure intensified, swirling and coiling around its towering form. Shadows converged, merging into a concentrated mass that floated toward Ryoga. It hovered before him, emanating an otherworldly aura that both enticed and unsettled him.
The figure's voice echoed once more, its words carrying a weighty warning. "This gift holds great power, Ryoga. Will it spell your doom as its overwhelming power consumes you? Or will it serve as a key to clear your path? It all depends on how you use it."
Ryoga's body convulsed with the surge of malicious energy, as tendrils of darkness coiled around him, snaking their way up his limbs and engulfing his entire form. His agonized scream pierced through the air, a manifestation of the struggle within him to gain control over the overwhelming power that now coursed through his veins.
"URGHH!... HHGGRAAHHHHHH!"
With gritted teeth and a determined glare, Ryoga fought against the consuming darkness. His mind raced, desperately seeking a way to harness the energy rather than succumb to its malevolent influence. He focused on the words of the enigmatic figure, it's voice echoing in his ears like a haunting refrain.
"I must control it... I must master this power," Ryoga muttered through clenched teeth, his voice laced with courage. He closed his eyes, allowing the darkness to swirl within him, but refusing to let it consume his essence entirely.
Maxwell and his thugs stood in the alley, their expressions filled with a shit-eating grin. They had knocked Ryoga unconscious in their duel, and were certain of their victory. Ryoga lay motionless on a heap of garbage, his body battered and bruised from the fierce duel they had engaged in.
As they awaited for Ryoga to wake up in his slumber, confident that his defeat was imminent due to running out of time, a sudden change began to unfold. Ryoga's unconscious body began to emit a vibrant, intense purple energy, creating an ominous aura that filled the air. The atmosphere around them shifted, hinting at a power they didn't expected.
"Here it comes..." Ren muttered as he watched the spectacle unfold from the top of a nearby building, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and anticipation. The air crackled with such a powerful energy as Ryoga's unconscious body emitted the vibrant, intense purple energy. Ren's eyes widened, and a mischievous grin spread across his face
Maxwell's voice quivered with disbelief as he muttered, "T-The fuck? What's happening?" His thugs exchanged puzzled glances, unease seeping into their confident demeanor. The once unconscious Ryoga slowly rose from the pile of garbage, his body now shrouded in a menacing purple glow. His eyes, once closed, now burned with an intense shade of red, as if ignited by a fiery rage.
The thugs took a step back, their bravado melting away. The malicious aura emanating from Ryoga was overwhelming, a stark contrast to his previous weakened state. Maxwell's voice trembled as he stuttered, "This... This can't be real! What the fuck are you!?"
Ignoring Maxwell's bewildered question, Ryoga stood tall, his posture radiating a newfound power. His gaze pierced through the dimly lit alley, focusing on his adversaries with a merciless intensity. His voice, laced with an eerie calmness, resonated through the air, sending chills down the spines of the thugs.
Ryoga's piercing gaze intensified as he fixed his eyes on the trembling thugs. His chilling voice cut through the silence, "Are you done with your bullshit yet? If you are, then it's time for me to get rid of the trash!" The thugs exchanged uneasy glances, their bravado shattered by Ryoga's invigorated power.
With a swift motion, Ryoga raised his hand to the sky, gripping the glowing card on top of his deck tightly. As he declared, "My turn, Draw!" the violet energy surrounding him seemed to surge, intertwining with the mystical energy emanating from the card. A gust of wind picked up, whipping through the alley, stirring up debris and sending shivers down the thugs' spines.
Maxwell, still stunned by the unfolding spectacle, managed to muster the courage to ask, "What... What are you-!?"
Ryoga's expression remained stoic as he responded, "I'm going to show you the true meaning of power." With a fierce expression, he activated the card, releasing a blinding light that engulfed the area.
Ryoga's voice boomed through the blinding light as he shouted, "Rank-Up-Magic: Supreme King Dragon's Favor!" In an instant, the card activated, causing a surge of energy to emanate from it. The light intensified, temporarily blinding those around him, as if signaling the beginning of a cataclysmic event.
As the brilliance began to subside, the scene revealed the true power of Ryoga's move. His sole monster, Shark Drake, let out a ferocious roar that echoed throughout the area. The sound carried a sense of dominance, as if the creature had awakened its latent power.
Ryoga turned his attention towards his opponent and explained the cost of his gambit. "I will sacrifice half of my Life Points, reducing them from 200 to 100," he declared, his voice carrying an air of conviction. "But in return, this card targets one Rank 4 or lower XYZ Monster in my field, and a Zarc XYZ Monster that is one Rank higher than that Monster evolves from it! This card, as well as the other Overlay Units that Shark Drake has will be transferred to the Summoned Monster!"
Ryoga: 200 - 100 LP
The corners of Ren's lips curled into a mischievous smile as he witnessed Ryoga's growth and power. His eyes sparkled with a mix of pride and expectation.
Amused by the situation, Ren muttered to himself, "Impressive, Ryoga. It seems you've embraced the path of true power." He put his hands into his pocket, ready to leave the scene. "That's right. Accept and embrace the Supreme King Dragon's gift."
Ren knew the immense power that lay dormant within the card, waiting for the right person to wield it. He believed that Ryoga, with his determination of steel, was the perfect candidate. However, he also understood the risks and challenges that came with such power.
"And with this, the duel's about to wrap. But first," Ren whispered to himself, "I must prepare to meet Ryoga 'naturally.'" With that, he leaped off the edge of the building, landing gracefully on the ground without making a single sound. The wind whispered around him as he approached his motorcycle, ready to storm into the scene when the duel ends.
Shark Drake reverted back to its dormant form as it was enveloped by dark energy. "I will increase Shark Drake's rank by 1, unlocking its true potential! With it, I rebuild the Overlay Network! Zarc XYZ Change!"
Shark Drake transformed into a dazzling ball of light, shimmering with a powerful aura. As the radiant sphere rose into the air, it swiftly made its way and entered the Overlay Network. The portal then explodes, and the newly Summoned XYZ Monster unveils itself.
Within the dimensional rift, a remarkable sight unfolded. Shark Drake underwent a profound metamorphosis, its form shifting and evolving. The ball of light expanded, gradually taking shape and revealing the magnificent being that now emerged from within.
"Reveal yourself, Zarc Number 32! Unleash the boundless force dwelling within, and let your roars echo across the seven seas! Supreme King Veiss Dragon - Shark Drake Alpha!"
Emerging from the depths, a magnificent beast materializes before them. Its form is that of a mighty dragon, exuding an aura of power and dominance. Standing tall and proud, it bears a striking resemblance to a wyvern, its majestic figure awe-inspiring.
The dragon's sleek body is cloaked in a captivating display of colors. Like a shadowy phantom, its upper body is adorned with a deep, obsidian black hue, while its underbelly shimmers with a brilliant sky blue, reminiscent of the vast ocean depths. This unique combination creates a sense of duality, symbolizing both darkness and the boundless expanse of the oceans.
Its eyes are fierce and piercing, reflecting its vicious nature, protruding from its back are three majestic fins, resembling those of a shark gliding through the ocean currents. These fins, sharp and angular, add to the dragon's imposing presence, amplifying its predatory nature.
A row of razor-sharp teeth line its powerful jaws, glistening with an otherworldly luminescence. Each tooth is a testament to the dragon's ferocity and its ability to tear through any obstacle in its path.
Z32: Shark Drake Alpha 2900/2400
Rank: 5
Overlay Units: 4
Maxwell's face turned pale as he laid his eyes upon Ryoga's formidable monster. Despite his attempt to maintain a confident facade, his stuttering words betrayed his true feelings of terror. "K-K-K-Kid, that... that monster of yours isn't even that scary!" Maxwell managed to say, his voice trembling.
However, Maxwell's words seemed to be a futile attempt at downplaying the true might of Ryoga's monster. His two thugs, standing beside him, couldn't help but tremble in fear as they witnessed the sight before them. Their foreheads can't stop sweating as they exchanged nervous glances.
The colossal dragon stood tall, its powerful jaws open wide, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth, hungry for blood. The sheer ferocity emanating from its whole being was enough to send shivers down the spines of anyone who dared to face it. The dragon's eyes, burning with an intense fire, locked onto Maxwell and his thugs, seemingly piercing through their souls.
Ryoga, unaffected by Maxwell's weak attempt at bravado, smirked confidently. "Oh, you think my monster isn't scary?" he replied, his voice dripping with amusement. "Well then, let's see how long that confidence of yours lasts."
With a mischievous smirk, he raised his hand, pointing directly at Maxwell's group's formidable monsters. "Behold the power of my monster's effect!" he declared, his voice booming with confidence. "I banish all three Overlay Units from my monster to target your CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, Metal Mafia Hitman, and Metal Gangster. All of their Attack and Defense Points drop to 0 until the end of this turn! Aqua Serpentina!"
As Ryoga's words echoed through the air, a sudden surge of energy enveloped his monster. The colossal dragon roared ferociously, its scales shimmering with an otherworldly glow. From the depths of the surrounding ether, water serpents materialized, their sleek bodies undulating with a serpentine grace.
The water serpents slithered through the air, their venomous fangs bared as they lunged at Maxwell's and his thug's monsters. With blinding speed, they sunk their teeth into their targets, injecting a potent venom and wrapping their serpentine bodies around them, constricting with a vise-like grip.
The effects of Ryoga's monster began to take hold. Maxwell's CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, once towering with power, now writhed in agony as its attack and defense points plummeted to zero. The Metal Mafia Hitman and Metal Gangster, once menacing in their strength, now found themselves weakened, their very existence diminished.
CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral - 3600 - 0 ATK
Metal Mafia Hitman - 1000 - 0 ATK
Metal Gangster - 1200 - 0 ATK
Maxwell's confident facade began to crack as he witnessed the devastating effects unfold before his eyes. The once mighty monsters were reduced to mere shells of their former selves, struggling to maintain their presence on the field.
Maxwell gritted his teeth, his confident facade crumbling along with his monsters. He tried to maintain his composure, but it was clear that Ryoga's words were getting under his skin.
Undeterred, Ryoga raised his arm high and declared, "Not only that, by detaching and banishing it's remaining Overlay Unit, I can attack as many times as there are Banished Monsters I have. Meaning I can attack all three of you bastards at once! Battle! Shark Drake Alpha, attack Metal Gangster, Metal Mafia Hitman, and CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral!" His eyes locked on his enemies, Ryoga commanded his Shark Drake Alpha to attack.
Shark Drake Alpha obeyed without hesitation. With eyes glowing viciously, Supreme King Veiss Dragon raises its head towards the sky, drawing upon the forces of darkness and the untamed might of the oceans. A torrent of energy begins to surge within its core, building up with an intensity that mirrors the gathering storm clouds.
The dragon's obsidian-black scales shimmer ominously, absorbing the surrounding light, while the radiant sky blue hues along its underbelly intensify, resembling the swirling depths of an endless abyss.
In a desperate attempt to protect his monster, Maxwell's voice trembled, "I-I-I activate my Trap Card, Metal Barrier! It protects my Monster from being destroyed, and negates any damage I receive!" A steel barrier enveloped his CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral, but Ryoga's mocking laughter filled the air.
"You think a flimsy trap like that will save you?" Ryoga taunted. "You underestimate the devastating force of my Shark Drake Alpha. Your shitty attempts are useless."
With a wave of his hand, Ryoga explained, "You see, my Shark Drake Alpha has an ability that renders your Monsters untouchable by card effects. Your Metal Barrier is nothing more than a pathetic attempt at resistance!"
Before Maxwell could mutter a word, a deafening roar echoed through the alley, shaking the very ground beneath their feet. The air sparked with an intimidating energy as Shark Drake Alpha unleashed its true power. Maxwell's eyes widened in terror as he witnessed the monstrous creature's terrifying appearance, its gleaming fangs and piercing eyes fixated on him.
"I-I... I can't handle this! Retreat!" Maxwell cried, his voice filled with desperation. He turned on his heels and attempted to flee, but his escape was quickly thwarted. In a matter of seconds, the alley was engulfed in a colossal wall of water, courtesy of Shark Drake Alpha's relentless control over its aquatic domain.
Ryoga's eyes shined with amusement as he surveyed the trapped Maxwell and his trembling thugs. He laughed mockingly, his voice dripping with disdain. "Look at you, asshole. Where did your cockiness go? How does it feel, being reduced to nothing more than frightened cowards? You tried to hurt my family, and now you'll pay the price."
Maxwell and his gang exchanged panicked glances, realizing the gravity of their situation. Trapped within the watery confines, their options dwindled with each passing moment. The once confident leader now found himself at the mercy of the merciless Ryoga and his indomitable Shark Drake Alpha.
As if responding to Ryoga's will, the water surrounding Maxwell and his thugs shifted, forming formidable chains that emerged from its oceanic walls. The chains slithered and twisted, snaking their way around their captives, restraining them tightly. Maxwell's eyes widened in terror, his voice trembling as he desperately called for help, his tough facade shattered.
"Help! Somebody, help!" Maxwell cried out, his pleas echoing off the walls of the chamber. "You can't do this to me! The Barians will get you, you know! You'll pay for this!" The restrained thugs cried out in terror as Ryoga prepared to deliver his final blow. The power of Shark Drake Alpha had proven to be far greater than they could have ever imagined, and their fate seemed sealed within the suffocating grasp of the watery prison.
Ryoga's lips curled into a derisive smirk, his eyes glinting with a mixture of amusement and vindication. He leaned in closer to Maxwell, his voice low and cutting.
"Barians, huh? Is that what you're still clinging onto now?" Ryoga scoffed. "Barians or not, whoever tries to hurt my family and friends would be asking to be eviscerated from this world."
With a swift motion of his hand, Ryoga signaled his Shark Drake Alpha, "Plunge them into the deep abyss! Torrential Onslaught!" Ryoga commanded, his voice filled with authority.
With a mighty roar that shakes Maxwell and his thugs to the core, Shark Drake Alpha unleashes the culmination of its power. The charged energy erupts from its maw, manifesting as a colossal beam of pure force, crackling with elemental fury. The beam tears through the air, leaving behind a trail of ethereal turbulence in its wake, like a tempestuous vortex harnessed within the dragon's command.
The Torrential Onslaught surges forth with an unstoppable velocity, propelled by the dragon's ferocity, and Ryoga's wrath. As it connects with its enemies, the sheer impact unleashes a powerful shockwave, rattling the earth and shattering their weak Monsters. The destructive force ravages the battlefield, consuming all in its path with a furious deluge of energy.
"GAAAAAGHHHHH!" Maxwell and his thugs screamed in pain, their screams were swallowed by the roaring water as Shark Drake Alpha shot them down, launching them in the air. The watery chains held firm, preventing any chance of escape. Maxwell's eyes widened in horror, realizing the fate that awaited him and his gang as their Life Points dropped to 0
Maxwell: 2100 - 0 LP
Thug 1: 1650 - 0 LP
Thug 2: 2000 - 0 LP
As the final blow landed, all the cards and monsters on the field dissipated into multiple bits of light, signifying the end of the duel. A hologram board materialized before Maxwell and his defeated thugs. It displayed Ryoga's portrait in all its glory. Bold letters appeared below the image, spelling out the word "WIN" in capital letters. The sight was a clear indication of their utter defeat at the hands of Ryoga and his mighty Shark Drake Alpha.
Ryoga's intense focus on the duel began to waver as the adrenaline faded away, and he felt the strain of the battle taking its toll on his body. His knees trembled weakly, threatening to give way beneath him. He steadied himself against a nearby trash bin, catching his breath and allowing his mind to process the magnitude of what had just occurred.
The purple aura surrounding Ryoga dissipated, fading into the air around him. It was as if the power that had surged through him during the duel had fulfilled its purpose, leaving him momentarily drained but triumphant. Ryoga couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
His awe-filled voice escaped his lips in a hushed mutter, barely audible, he grabbed the card that made his victory possible, the Rank-Up-Magic: Supreme King Dragon's Favor. "So this is the power of the Supreme King Dragon huh..." Ryoga murmured to himself. His eyes remained fixed on the card. He couldn't help but be amazed at the sheer strength and force displayed by his now evolved, Shark Drake Alpha.
Ryoga's mind wandered back to the day he received the mysterious card that had now become the key to his victory. In a vivid flashback, he found himself sitting atop a sturdy tree branch, gazing out at the horizon. Lost in his thoughts, he barely noticed when a familiar voice called out his name.
"Ryoga! There you are!" The voice was filled with enthusiasm and familiarity. Startled, Ryoga turned his head downward, spotting his best friend, Ren, standing at the base of the tree. Ren's face was beaming with excitement as he waved his hand in the air.
Curiosity piqued, Ryoga quickly descended from the tree, landing gracefully on the ground. "What is it, Ren? What do you want?" he asked, his voice tinged with intrigue.
Ren's cheerful expression remained as he extended his hand, presenting a card to Ryoga. "I found this while cleaning my room, and I thought it might be useful for you." he explained.
Curiosity and gratitude warred within Ryoga as he examined the card in Ren's outstretched hand. It was Rank-Up-Magic: Supreme King Dragon's Favor, it looks like a normal spell card. Ryoga's eyes softened with empathy as he listened to Ren's explanation.
"Ren, is this card important to you?" He couldn't help but wonder why Ren would give away something that held sentimental value. It seemed like an act of great trust and friendship.
Ren nodded, a touch of nostalgia in his eyes. "Yes, it is. This card was given to me by my dear friend, who is no longer with us. It holds memories of laughter, adventures, and shared dreams. But as much as it means to me, I realized that I couldn't find a way to use it or honor its significance. It felt wrong to let it gather dust for years. So, I thought it would be better if someone else, someone I trust with all my heart, had it."
Ryoga's heart swelled as he could sense the weight behind Ren's words, the trust they conveyed. It was a profound honor to be chosen as the recipient of such a treasured item. He looked into Ren's eyes and asked, "Are you sure you want to give this precious card to me, Ren? I don't want you to feel regret or sorrow later."
Ren's smile remained unwavering as he replied, "Ryoga, you are not just my best friend; you are my chosen family. I trust you more than anyone else, and I know you will appreciate the card as much as I do. I want it to be in the hands of someone who understands its worth, and that person is you."
Touched by Ren's words, Ryoga's hesitation melted away, replaced by a profound sense of gratitude. He accepted the card from Ren's hand, cradling it delicately. The weight of the card seemed to carry the weight of their friendship, an unspoken bond that transcended ordinary connections.
"Thank you, Ren," Ryoga whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "I promise to cherish this card and the memories it holds." Though uncertain of its potential, Ryoga decided to keep it, trusting in Ren's intuition.
As the scene shifted back to the present, Ryoga's grip tightened around the card, his fingertips tracing the intricate patterns etched upon its surface. He felt a sense of gratitude toward Ren, whose thoughtful gesture had led to this pivotal moment in his battles.
Ryoga straightened himself, his gaze shifting from the holographic board to his fallen opponents. He knew that this victory was not just his alone; it was a testament to his skill, strategy, and the overwhelming force of the Supreme King Dragon.
Ryoga's body trembled with a mixture of exhaustion and frustration as he approached the weakened Maxwell, his steps heavy and deliberate. The surrounding chaos seemed to fade into the background, leaving only the two of them in the aftermath of their duel. Maxwell's thugs lay unconscious, no longer a threat.
With a scowl etched across his face, Ryoga leaned down and grabbed Maxwell by the collar, his voice laced with irritation and impatience. "Now that this whole bullshit's over. Tell me where Rio is." he demanded, his words biting like the edge of a sharpened blade. He knew he had to remain calm and focused, but the worry for his sister gnawed at his insides.
Maxwell let out a defeated laugh, his eyes filled with a mix of pain and resignation. "You think I'd actually know?" he spat out, his voice strained. "I was just a decoy, a pawn in this game. They never told me where they were taking her."
Ryoga's grip tightened, his frustration boiling over. How could he have been so foolish? He had fallen into their trap, consumed by the desire to save his sister. He clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white as he fought to control his anger. He knew he had to remain level-headed if he wanted to uncover the truth.
As Maxwell's eyes fluttered, his consciousness slipping away, Ryoga's impatience grew. "Tell me everything you know," he demanded, his voice becoming more forceful. "Who exactly were they? Where did they take her?"
Maxwell's lips curled into a weak smile, a bitter reflection of his defeat. "I don't know their names," he murmured, his words fading into a whisper. "But they said they were from the Barian World... They have your sister... She's... she's in their hands now."
Rage surged through Ryoga's veins like a wildfire, threatening to consume him whole. He wanted to shake Maxwell, to demand more answers, but he knew it was futile. Maxwell had fulfilled his purpose as a pawn, and his consciousness slipped away, leaving Ryoga alone with his thoughts.
Stomping his foot in anger, Ryoga fought to control the storm of emotions raging within him. He realized the duel he had just fought was nothing but a ploy to stall him, diverting his attention from his sister's abduction. The weight of failure pressed down on him, but he couldn't afford to dwell on it.
With a determined grimace, Ryoga rose to his feet, as the Barian symbols on Maxwell and his thugs' foreheads vanished; they were no longer possessed.
As if on cue, Ren arrived on his black motorcycle, the sound of its engine roaring through the air. With a worried expression on his face, he quickly dismounted and rushed towards the weakened Ryoga. "Ryoga!" he called out, his voice laced with concern.
Ryoga's weary eyes met Ren's as he noticed his friend approaching. Just as his weakened knees threatened to give way, Ren managed to catch him, supporting his weight with a strong arm. A mix of relief and gratitude washed over Ryoga as he leaned against his friend, feeling the comforting presence that Ren always provided.
Ren's gaze shifted from Ryoga to the unconscious thugs strewn across the ground. The battle had been fierce, but Ryoga had emerged victorious. Ren couldn't help but smile, his worry replaced with genuine happiness for his friend. "You did it, Ryoga," he said, his voice filled with pride. "You won."
Ryoga's body sagged against Ren's support, his breathing labored but his spirit uplifted. He looked up at Ren, a glimmer of determination in his eyes. "It wasn't just me," he replied, his voice filled with gratitude. "It was the Supreme King Dragon. Without it, I wouldn't have stood a chance."
Ren made a confused expression as he tilted his head, trying to make himself look clueless of Ryoga's mention of the "Supreme King Dragon." Ren ignored it for now as there were more pressing matters at hand.
"Supreme King Dragon...? Anyways, did you find out where they brought Rio?" Ren asked, shifting his focus back to their primary objective. The safety of Rio was of utmost importance, and Ren hoped that Ryoga had discovered some valuable information during the battle.
Ryoga's expression turned solemn as he replied, his fatigue momentarily forgotten in the face of the question. "Maxwell was just a decoy, and I didn't get any concrete information about Rio's whereabouts." he admitted, a tinge of frustration in his voice.
Ren's tone turned somber as he nodded in agreement. "That sucks, I had no luck either with the possessed student I fought earlier." He couldn't shake off the memory of the duel he had earlier with a possessed individual.
Ryoga suddenly grew energized with curiosity as he noticed Ren's concern. "Were you okay? I mean, you faced someone possessed by a Barian earlier. I mean, I don't doubt your abilities, but they were still forces of the Barians so it must have been tough." he said, genuine concern etched on his face.
In an attempt to remove Ryoga's suspicions and concerns, he chose to tell a small lie. "Don't worry, Ryoga. I managed to overcome the possessed person with the help of the Student Council President," Ren replied, forcing a reassuring smile. "We're both fine now."
Ryoga's eyes softened, his worry momentarily eased by Ren's words. "I'm glad to hear that, Ren. Also I'm sorry, for not being strong enough. Look at me, a simple duel against a street thug and I'm already reduced to this pitiful state." Ryoga said with a defeated tone.
Ren placed a reassuring hand on his friend's shoulder and spoke with genuine sincerity, "Ryoga, you have nothing to apologize for. Strength is not solely measured by the outcome of a single duel. It's about resilience, courage, and the ability to get back up after being knocked down."
Ren's voice radiated with comforting belief as he continued, "I trust in your abilities, and I'm sure with our combined might, we can do anything! We've faced countless challenges together, and we've always come out stronger on the other side. This setback is just another hurdle for us to overcome."
Finally, Ren added, "After all, Ryoga, you are not just my best friend; you are my chosen family."
...Family.
...Family.
...Family.
Ryoga's head throbbed intensely as he felt a surge of disorientation wash over him. The words spoken by Ren echoed in his mind, triggering a vivid and unsettling flashback that clashed with his own memories. He closed his eyes, trying to make sense of the image that consumed his thoughts.
In the fragmented memory, Ryoga found himself standing atop a towering castle. The wind whipped around him, a refreshing breeze blessed their faces. Beside him stood a figure whose face remained obscured, hidden in the shadows. All Ryoga could discern was the person's brown hair and the distinctive brown armor they wore.
"After all, Nash, you are not just my best friend; you are my chosen family."
As the scene unfolded, the mysterious figure's voice resonated through the air, speaking the exact same words Ren had just uttered. The belief and unwavering trust in their combined strength echoed hauntingly in Ryoga's mind. It was as if this memory was an echo from another time, another life.
Ryoga's heart raced, and a chill ran down his spine. The memory felt so real, yet it clashed with everything he knew about his past. He had always believed himself to be an ordinary person with no grand destiny or connections to ancient prophecies. But this flashback hinted at a hidden truth, one that now tugged at the fringes of his consciousness.
Taking a deep breath, Ryoga forced himself to focus on the present, shaking off the remnants of the unsettling vision. He opened his eyes, meeting Ren's gaze with a mixture of confusion and determination.
Ren's brows furrowed with concern as he noticed the change in Ryoga's demeanor. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.
Ryoga quickly composed himself, not wanting to burden Ren with his newfound revelation just yet. He didn't fully understand what he had seen or how it connected to his past, and he needed time to process it before involving others. "Oh, it's nothing," he replied, forcing a smile. "Just a mild headache. It'll pass."
Ren's concern lingered, but he respected Ryoga's response and decided not to push further. "By the way, have you gotten in contact with Yuma and the others?" Ryoga shifted the focus of the conversation.
"No, I haven't reached out to Yuma and the others yet," Ren admitted. "I was just about to when you had your... headache."
As if on cue, Ren's phone began to ring, surprising both of them. He glanced at the screen, surprised to see Kotori's name displayed before he even had a chance to call her. "It's Kotori," he said, raising an eyebrow in confusion. "I haven't even touched the phone yet."
Ryoga's curiosity piqued, and he gestured for Ren to answer the call. "Go ahead, maybe she has some news for us."
Ren swiped the screen and held the phone to his ear. "Hello, Kotori. We were just about to call you." he greeted, his voice carrying a mix of surprise and anticipation.
As Ren listened to Kotori's voice on the other end, his expression shifted from surprise to concern. Ryoga's curiosity grew, and he leaned in, trying to catch snippets of the conversation.
"What? Are you serious?" Ren's voice tightened, and he glanced at Ryoga, his eyes widening with worry.
Ryoga's heart raced once again, sensing that something significant was unfolding. He urged Ren silently to share the details.
Ren's voice grew grave as he relayed the message. "Kotori says that Yuma is dueling a Barian right now, not like a possessed person or whatever. But an actual Barian."
Ryoga's eyes widened with a mix of concern and determination. "Well, what are we even waiting for?" he exclaimed urgently. "If this Barian has information about Rio's whereabouts, we can't afford to waste any time. Let's go!"
Ren and Ryoga hurriedly hopped onto their motorcycles. The engines roared to life as Ryoga's heart thumped loudly in his chest as he revved the engine, his concern pushing him forward.
The duo zoomed through the streets, their motorcycles slicing through the wind with impressive speed. As they weaved through traffic and navigated the city, Ryoga's mind raced with thoughts of his sister.
Word Count: 10249 Words (A/N not included.)
Bruhhhhh this was the longest chapter so far and it wasn't supposed to be done yet either ️ ️ ️
This means that I'm forced to release Chapter 6.5 instead of 7 which is the Arc finale. But oh well, I bet 6.5 would be really short.
Anyways what do you guys think? Ren and Ryoga are so close that when Ryoga heard about the red-eyed hero, Ren was the first person that came to his mind instead of Yuma. Yuma has red eyes too, and his ace monster is literally the embodiment of Hope, yet Ren was the person who first came to Ryoga's mind.
