THE UNLIMITED OMNI-SPIDER:QUESTIONS AND PROBLEMS
Casey was now conducting research in his bedroom. Some security cameras inside the college where he and his sinblings were visiting were still on before Mysterio's attack. The question that doesn't want to be silent is: What did Mysterio steal and what is he going to do with it?
Casey was seated while staring at his computer. He was looking at pictures from the university to see if on the day in question there was any exhibition where the magical artifact was displayed.
Casey: Exhibition of the Chaos Orb. Ancient relic that belonged to ancient sorcerers and was used for the purpose of conquest and power.- Casey read and then deduced- So, Mysterio is a legitimate sorcerer. Damn Parker's Luck! As if dealing with our problems wasn't enough, now we have to deal with magic! Where's Doctor Strange when you need him? - Casey spoke to himself and then Ben entered the room.
Ben: Hey bro, did you find anything?
Casey: Yeah, that Dad's luck is hereditary.
Ben: Are we having a problem?
Casey: yes
Ben: How bad?
Casey: Bad on the grade to be the fourth film in a successful franchise.
Ben: Shit!
Casey: Yeah. Very bad.
Ben: So...any leads on our new friend?
Casey motioned Ben over to the monitor and showed him the security camera footage.
Mysterio had arrived at the university behind the pipes as if he were some kind of human smoke. He created countless wild animals to attack the guards. He fired green Energy Blasts from his hands to break through the walls and after he stole the artifact, he blasted the rooms until he reached the front of the university, where he was confronted by Trinity.
Ben: So it's real magic?
Casey: Yes and apparently not Quentin Beck.
Ben: How are you so sure?
Casey: I researched his current activities. Apparently he's still in San Francisco shooting his latest movie: Star Destruction 2: Age of Annihilation.
Ben: Wait. How do you know that? Didn't Beck disappear from the face of the Earth and assume another identity so he could direct the movies without worry?
Casey: Yes, but even the master of illusion can fail at one time or another. This time he failed because their movies are being starred by a certain Yenta who was at the premiere of the first movie that was interrupted by a fight between our parents and the Sinister Syndicate. He showed up there as Mysterio and helped our dad. I saw it in a video a few years ago.
Ben: Okay but who is this Yenta?
Casey: Who is the woman Mom despises the most in the world?
Ben: Dad's Ex-Girlfriend, Black Cat?
Casey: No. Well, yes but that's not who I'm talking about.
Ben: So I guess...- Ben thought for a few seconds and then realized who his brother was talking about- She's not evil, Casey.
Casey: How not?
Ben: Just because she did those things, she's not a demon.
Casey: Okay! Let's recap what that Yenta did to our father.
1. She married him and then broke up with him to go to Hollywood while leaving him heartbroken in New York.
2. Then she came back and kept complaining about the fact that he was a superhero, that is, she was against him saving lives!
3. When Granny was shot in the Civil War, it took weeks for her to recover, and then that heartless redhead kicked Dad. She asked for a divorce. And she left the greatest hero who ever set foot on this planet alone and desolate.
Ben: Man, she only did these things because she didn't understand our lifestyle. She couldn't bear to see our father like that anymore. Not to mention the risk of being in that life.
Casey: The worst thing is that even after the divorce, Dad had trouble getting over it all. Then came the problems with Ock, the rise and fall of Parker Industries, and a whole lot more shit in Dad's life. Meanwhile, Miss Fame was in Hollywood having fun. And by the way, how did that Yenta get hired by Stark Industries!? Not that I respect him but how?
Ben: I don't know and so far this fact amazes me.
Casey: The point is: Mary Jane Watson is a heartless woman. Aunt Teresa was right, Dad did much better than her. Mom has never had these issues with Dad and has always been supportive and I bet all my V-Bucks that if she had met Dad sooner, their lives would have been a lot easier.
Ben: Wow, have you ever tried Twittering that hateful statement from Miss Watson?
Casey: Yes, but unfortunately Dad didn't let me. He said we have to be better than that and apparently "She's not a monster!"- Casey said the last part while making quotation marks with his hands
Ben: And what did Mom think about that?
Casey: Who do you think wrote the statement?
Ben: If there is a day when Mom will like an ex-girlfriend OR ex-wife of our father, then that's the day the Earth will become flat.
Casey: Yeah, but back to the main topic, Beck doesn't have any marriage hasn't been seen with anyone in years so the new guy is probably not his son.
Ben: We're dealing with someone who is inspired by him but is stronger.
Casey: Exactly.
Ben: Could it be that he was born with these powers and then used them?
Casey: I don't know. But can this be real magic?
Ben: In the world we live in today, the possibilities are too many to consider. Telepathy, energy manipulation, illusion gas. All these could be some of the factors. Not to mention that maybe he could be a mutated human or even a mutant.
Casey: I wish I had taken some DNA samples during our fight.
Ben: Well, you can't beat them all.
Casey: I've never heard such truth.
Ben and Casey ended their conversation and then Ben went to his room to think about what he heard and lay down on his bed. He received a message on the communicator that Sora had given him.
Ben was surprised because he didn't think of Sora as someone who texted or started conversations. To be honest, Ben was already starting to theorize that she was Batman's daughter.
COMMUNICATOR
WOLF: Who was the new guy with powers you were up against?
OMNI-SPIDER: It was a new enemy. Well, new old enemy.
WOLF: Do you think he might have something to do with the Black Dragons?
OMNI-SPIDER: I don't know. But I hope not. The only thing worse than a gang in New York is a gang in New York with Super Villains. Wait. Are you stalking me?
WOLF: The news went to the news. But the cameras nearby started to short and only recorded the beginning of the fight.
OMNI-SPIDER: Ah...ok. Sorry to call you a stalker.
WOLF: Just keep me posted.
OMNI-SPIDER: Okay. Ah...have a nice day?
BEN TURNS OFF
Ben: C'mon, Parker! You're better than that!- Ben closes his eyes and complains to himself. And Peter enters the room.
Peter: Hi, son.
Ben: Hi, Dad.- Ben replied in a low voice and Peter realized that something was going on.
Peter: What happened?
Ben: Well...I'm having some problems.
Peter: Girls?
Ben: No, it's just... Wow, you're good.
Peter: Years of experience. Tell me what's happening to you.
Ben: Well, where do I start?- He sighs and sits next to his father on his bed.- A few days ago I met a girl.
Peter: At school?
Ben: Not exactly. I was walking into a shed to confront a gang that had committed crimes here in Queens. And, surprise, there she was.
Peter: Wait a minute, are you saying there's a 15 year old gang leader?
Ben: No. The Leader was being interrogated by a 15 year old girl. I wasn't sure her intentions so I chased her up to the roof. We fought and then we ripped each other's masks off and...
Peter: Wait a minute! You two...you know...- Peter made a facial expression that expressed a certain discomfort.
Ben: What are you doing...Oh! No! Dad, you and Mom raised me better than that!
Peter: I know, I just want to be sure. But... protect yourself when the time comes and remember that you are very... strong.
Ben: Enough! We already had this awkward conversation about three years ago, we don't have to go through it again.
Peter: You're right. Thank you. Please continue.
Ben: We ripped each other's masks off after we fought and-Ben looks at the ceiling with a look of passion while blushing-...she was beautiful. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
Peter: How pretty?-Peter asked, smiling.
Ben:...insanely.
Peter: Who would have thought? My little boy became a man.
Ben: Okay. Stop.-Ben chuckled lightly as he blushed-Well, we fought and reconnected a few days ago, after I fought some guys in an old factory. I revealed my identity to her and she did the same.
Peter: Ben...
Ben: Look, she already knew my face and with the intelligence she seems to have, it doesn't take long for her to figure out my name. Not to mention...
Peter: It's ok son, no need to explain, I trust you.
Ben: Oh, thanks. So I guess she's become my "partner"- Ben made a quotation mark with his hands.
Peter: Why did you make the quote sign?
Ben: I don't know if I can call it a partnership.
Peter: Is that what Kitty and I were like?
Ben: It was more like you and Uncle Logan. Or Mom and Aunt Yana.
Peter: Ouch...yeah, I think I get what you mean, I hope.
Ben: I need some advice. -Peter nods his head and Ben looks at him- What do I do when I like a girl but she's just as enigmatic and as complicated as...well...anyone?
Peter sighs and stares at his son.
Peter: Well, I wouldn't say I would have experience with that kind of girl.
Ben: And Miss Hardy?
Peter: Felicia was not an enigmatic type of person. She hid a lot of things from me but then she started talking too much to the wrong people.
Ben: Yeah, she thought of herself as your owner and then Mom insulted her and, after giving Miss Watson a big speech that made her feel bad, she broke Black Rat's nose.
Peter: Yeah...Wait a minute, how do you know that?
Ben: Aunt Cin told me. By the way, is there an ex-girlfriend of yours that Mom doesn't hate?
Peter: No. Almost every bad thing from my past ended up coming back like a boomerang and your mother understood that because of that, it was necessary for her to defend me. heh.
Ben: Why are you laughing?
Peter: Nothing is just that... I was so lucky. My God, how I love Kitty.
Ben: Not wanting to interrupt your nostalgic moment but can we continue with my problem?- Ben asked trying not to be rude.
Peter: Oh okay, sorry to get off topic. Look, girls are not something simple especially for us whose responsibilities take us all the time. I went through a lot before meeting your mother, just as she went through a lot before meeting me. But when I met her, she had dark thoughts and a sad view of the world. I saw it in her. I hated that she felt this way and the only thing I wanted to do was take this pain away from her.
Ben: And how did you do that?
Peter: I went slow. I talked to her whenever I could and we shared our pasts. After I told her how I became Spider-Man and how she became Shadowcat, we fell in love. What I mean is that you should try to talk to this girl. She doesn't look like the other girls to me but maybe that's a good thing.
Ben: Why?
Peter: I've tried to get used to being with normal women and sometimes women like me. It never worked out but then I met her mother. The bravest, smartest, strongest woman I've ever seen. And then I realised. Ordinary may not be the best of the way for us. Because Kitty wasn't normal. She was Astonishing.
Ben: So you're saying that I should meet Sora and try to build a relationship of mutual trust before trying to start a relationship.- Peter nods his head in agreement.- But what if it doesn't work out?
Peter: I don't know but regardless of the outcome, I'll be here for you. Ever. And remember, you and her siblings are everything your mother was and so will make no effort to win anyone's heart.
Ben: How are you so sure?
Peter: Kitty was perfect. And I fell in love with her from the first moment.
Ben: That reminds me. How was the first time you met Mom? Like, when did she come to New York?
Peter: That... it's not important- Peter was sweating nervously now- I mean, it's not a story for now. What I mean is slow if you go far and trust is the goal and if you need anything I'll help you
Ben: All right, thanks dad.
Peter: I've been waiting for you to ask me this kind of advice since you turned 13.-Peter got up and left Ben, who was thoughtful, alone but before he stopped at the door.-Oh, Ben?
Ben: What?
Peter: Is there anything else you want to tell me? Something about certain changes?
Ben: What do you mean?- Ben said with nervousness in his voice
Peter: Anything that has you feeling confused recently?
Ben: Um...No.I...I...I don't think so.
Peter:...Ok- Peter spoke and then left Ben's room.
Ben was now thoughtful and remembered the situation that happened to him a few nights ago and what it might have meant, but who could he tell that to?
A few days ago he was just one of many 15-year-olds. Just going to class and worrying about helping his friendly neighborhood. But…creating a baby universe was way beyond what Ben could think of. But then an idea popped into Ben's head. There is only one explanation for this enormous power.
Ben: Am I a mutant?
Ben was now in his suit and was on a roof looking out over the city as he thought about the situation.
May: Ben?
Ben: What?
May: You've been like this for minutes.
Ben: Really? I didn't even notice.
May: What happened? Do you have a problem?
Ben: Why does everyone always ask me that?
May: You hide it well but we can feel it when you're like this. After all, you never leave the house suddenly.
Ben: No offense, but why did you come?
May: Because you looked like you needed company. Tell me what happened?
Ben: I...- Ben was about to speak when the two heard screams coming from below and so they decided to see what was going on.
Countless civilians were fleeing from frightening creatures similar to the ones the Mysterio had used.
Omni-Spider: It's our time!
Shadow: Yeah!
Omni arrives sending a kick in the face of one of the monsters and knocking him down but then one of them hits him in the back and seems ready to punch him, but a Psionic Knife hits him on the head and makes the monster faint.
Ben turns his head to see who it was but whoever had helped him disappeared.
Shadow was surrounded by 5 monsters and punched one of them, then threw him away. One of them tried to attack her from behind but then she phased past him and the monster was now on its back and in front of May. May waited for the monster to turn around and she hit him with an uppercut.
Now there were three left. May was partially excited but she prefers to be excited about combat where innocent people couldn't get hurt, so it was better to get things over with quickly. May runs towards them but then a fourth monster appears and will attack May from behind.
The monster is hit by a Katana on its torso and apparently, it doesn't have much durability as a black hooded figure splits it in two.
The figure in question creates a blue Psionic Blade and then stands next to May.
Shadow: You must be Wolf, correct?- Wolf nods in agreement.- Well, I'm Shadow-Spider but you can call me Shadow anyway. You seem like a nice girl so how about we do it like this. You defeat one and I defeat one and the last one we split.
Wolf: You think like me.
May and Sora move on and then defeat both their targets and the latter seems to have gotten angry and apparently got stronger he tried to punch May who blocked him with a fist but it was possible to feel a pain and so Sora uses her Psionic Knife in his head to confuse him. Then May punches the monster in the belly and Sora trips the monster that makes him fall then she uses her Psyonic Blade on his chest.
They leave there and climb on a roof.
May: You really know how to act in combat!
Sora: You also have skill.
May: Hey, I'm May- She reaches out and takes off her mask and then offers her hand to Sora.
Sora: ... Sora- She says as she takes off her mask.
May: There, you did well. No doubt got me out of a jam.
Sora: ...Well, it looked like you needed help.
May: Yeah, thanks. By the way, I wanted to know, do you happen to know anything about those monsters that were down there?
Sora: No. But I admit they are unlike anything I've ever seen.
May: Welcome to New York. Population: A bunch of civilians, monsters, villains and super-powered teenagers- Sora was sitting on the edge of a roof and May approached her- Can I sit with you?
Sora: Sure
May: So. what did you come here to do?
Sora: Nothing really worth telling.
May: I have a few minutes left.
Sora: So you want the short version. In short, when I passed through New York, I got to see the side of the city full of gangs and corruption. And I have a sense of justice that no matter how much I try to ignore it, I'll never be able to stop it.
May: What do you mean?
Sora: No offense but that's the most you'll get from me.
May: All right. You seem like a nice person so I think I'll leave but I hope to see you again, Sora.- May said with a smile.
Sora: Same.
May: Bye
May leaves but before she finds Ben who was going to talk to Sora and whispers to him: Don't ruin it.
Ben approaches Sora and then starts talking.
Ben: Hey, thanks for helping my sister.
Sora: She's nice.
Ben: She's the best but I wanted to ask you... do you need help with something?
Sora: Are you referring to conversations? No
Ben: Look, I'm not going to make you do anything. We can even continue with the same dynamics. But like me, you also have this sense of duty. You will go through difficult times but they will be even more difficult if you don't have someone to help you. Let me be someone you can bounce ideas off of once in a while. Or if you want, I'll join you to fight bad guys and kick ass. This is also very therapeutic.
Sora:...Heh. Why you...?
Ben: Because finding someone like you is rare. And honestly, I've met people who have tried to play the lone ranger. Spoilers: Many almost reached solitude but managed to find a place for them. This life we have is not normal but it's always good to find someone as crazy as we are.
Sora: Thanks, Ben.
Ben: I think we should... How does she manage to disappear like that?
On his way home, Ben passes through Central Park and finds a Krakoan Gate.
Ben: If I try, I'll make it to Krakoa?- Ben extends his hand near the portal to try but...- No, I can't figure that out yet. But when I get this sorted out...Meh,After all, what difference would a simple fifteen-year-old mutant make on an island full of inhabitants with practically godlike powers? Heh, it looks like I would add something to Krakoa.- Ben thinks with sarcasm
Krakoa
Charles Xavier was currently walking alongside Magneto. They liked to walk around the island. Currently, they were about to meet a woman considered an "Old Friend".
Charles stopped walking as he felt a certain chill down his spine. And Erik's hands were shaking now.
Xavier: Erik, did you feel it?
Erik: Yes, can you figure out where this is coming from?
Xavier:...No
Erik: How is that possible? Such a great power appears and you are not detecting it with the CEREBRO?
Xavier: Maybe, Erik, it's precisely because this power is so great that I can't detect it. This power comes from a mutant but that mutant has powers that are beyond the ability of the CEREBRO to locate.
Erik: But such a thunderous apparition never occurred. Do you think it involves Jean Gray and Howlett's children? Or Summers and Frost?
Xavier: No. That's why we should be on the lookout. This feeling occurred because of someone in this world. But this mutant is not on Krakoa. He could be anywhere on the planet.
Erik: What will we do?
Xavier: Now? We won't do anything. But if we find him, let's hope he's an ally.
Ben was now eating a Hot Dog on top of a building. He started to feel his head tingling but it wasn't Spider-Sense.
Ben(Thinking): Does it feel like someone is reading my mind? Aunt Jean? Aunt Emma?- Ben starts to look around and it gets to a point where he decides to look up and observe the sky.
Somehow, Ben managed to see a satellite orbiting Earth. With a glance, they managed to see a satellite. And Ben didn't have a telescope, so...Magnified Vision is yet another power to add to the list.
But this satellite...
Ben: Those voices...are they mutants? It must be nothing.- Ben heard numerous voices coming from the satellite and decides to turn away as if it were nothing. Better ask Aunt Emma about it another day.
Ben crumples his Hot Dog's packaging as he looks at the satellite again. When he realised...
Krakoa
Forge: Charles! We have a problem!- Forge heads to the Quiet Council room. He looked like he was in a panic.
Xavier: What happened?
Forge: One of E.A.R's satellites ended up being destroyed!
All the Council members were surprised by this and certainly expected a plausible explanation.
Magneto: So that means someone might have discovered us...
Forge: No, it goes beyond that. Whoever destroyed the satellite left no trace. I didn't find anything from the surveillance cameras, the satellites didn't trigger the self-destruct.
Xavier: Couldn't that have been a programming error?
Forge: I don't make mistakes.
Magneto: Do you think those weird waves...?
Xavier: I don't know, Erik. But I can confirm one thing. We may be on the verge of discovering a mutant whose potential is beyond our wildest dreams.
E.A.R
Set of ten satellites created and launched into orbit by Forge. All have Charles Xavier brains and were devices used for communication between Krakoa and Arakko Mutants.
They were secretly used to gather information among their citizens. With this, it was possible to monitor the mutants with greater activity.
But whoever it must have been, there is someone who never even set foot on this island, but managed to discover the existence of a satellite and destroyed it. Forge claims it's impossible. Xavier has his doubts. And Magneto concluded that there is a chance that there is a new Omega-level mutant.
Well, let me know what you think and sorry for the delay. For anyone who thinks Ben is too overpowered, don't worry I'll fix it. I only did this scene because I wanted you to understand the fear that Ben can cause when he doesn't control his powers properly. But at least he managed to fix this macabre thing of satellites with brains. I actually found it horrible and immoral for the fact that it means they must be practically monitoring almost every mutant at this point.
To be Continued.../ Ka1's out
