HINATA
I nuzzle my face into his chest. Miya feels more muscular this morning. Sure he has muscles but Miya isn't as firm….or wide. Maybe Miya has been hitting those weights. I smile slowly opening my eyes to see Kageyama snoring lightly. What the fuck! I jerk back in shock falling out of the bed in the process.
"Shit," I cry hurting from that fall. Kageyama stirs from his bed.
"Hinata?" he questions with sleep heavy in voice. I clear my throat with last nights events flooding back to my mind. The way he kisses me, caressed my skin among other things.
"Yeah," I reply slowly standing to my feet.
"Did you just fall?" he inquiries appearing confused.
"Something like that," I reply. "Um, I'm just going to go pee." I exit his room with my heart beating fast as hell. I get to the bathroom closing the door putting my hand over my chest. It hasn't stopped the beating like it wants to escape. Maybe it's because Kageyama is my best friend and we hooked up. We didn't have sex but still. I glance up at the ceiling knowing deep down I wouldn't mind. It's why I did it. He made me feel so good for someone who lacks experience. My body feels hot just thinking about it. I decide to use the bathroom and freshen up while I'm in here. I was mostly trying to get a little breathing room. I don't have that liquor courage anymore. More so or less Kageyama is acting the same.
I stare at myself in the mirror in shock as I play a little with my curls. It wasn't just what we did. It is the fact it was his first time. There was no stumbling not anxious behavior, nothing. Maybe it is because we are best friends that it felt that way. I must say he definitely has kissing down. Once he stopped thinking so much, he did much better. He handled my tongue very well for no experience. I leave the bathroom going back to Kageyama room despite me wanting to go to my own. I open the door to see Kageyama in bed staring at me as I come into the door. I bite the corner of my bottom lip walking inside closing the door.
"Why do you have that look on your face?" asks Kageyama. Times like this I dislike that he knows me so well.
"N-nothing," I lie. "I just really want to a shower."
"Understandable," says Kageyama rolling on his back. "I feel so comfortable I'm not doing shit today." What? Kageyama never wastes a day. "I will shower, eat, otherwise straight chill mode."
"Well, I hate to break it to you we have to see my mom remember," I remind him. Kageyama groans making my laugh.
"Yeah, I know," I reply. "We don't have to be over there until later for dinner. Feel free to relax until then."
"I know your mom will be cooking. At least we don't have to worry about dinner," he states. I giggle because he is right. "You can get the shower first and then I will go."
"Thanks!" I exclaim. Kageyama has a habit of being in there forever. I walk into my room just in time to hear my phone chime. I pick it up off the nightstand seeing Miya texted me.
Miya: I know you are taking the lost pretty hard. You were great out there. Let me know when you can come by so I can make you feel better *winking emoji*
I chuckle. Usually, I would see Miya win or loss. Regardless we end up having sex. Clearly, I didn't want to last night. I wanted to talk to Kageyama to see if he saw what I did during the game. I growl thinking about our ex-teammate. I grab my shower items along with the clothes I will be changing into. I head into the bathroom showering away last night's events figuring out when I'm going to see Miya. Tonight, is definitely not good. Classes start this week so I don't know if I can see him. Kageyama and I both have to work a lot over the next couple of weeks because of this. I leave the bathroom feeling fresh and clean for the day. I knock on Kageyama's door.
"Shower is ready for you," I say to the door. "I'm going to cook us breakfast okay."
"For real!" exclaims Kageyama on the other side making me laugh. He says I have a gift for cooking breakfast. I head downstairs heading straight into the kitchen. I will do the hash browns, scrambled eggs, and polish sausage. Every once in a while, I will have my rice white with sunny side up egg, but Kageyama is not a fan. He is always worried the runny egg will make me sick. I have been eating it for years with no issue. Kageyama loves polish sausage though. Well, he is a fan of meat protein in general. I would do biscuits but that would be a bit much. I think about Kageyama appetite. No, no it wouldn't.
I'm in the middle of cooking when I hear Asahi door open. I turn to greet him, but I see Yamaguchi creeping out with his hair flying everywhere. I stare in shock. I know that look. That is the 'I fucked all night hair' and not the 'I slept on the floor' hair. Yamaguchi spots me his face turning red. He weakly waves at me clearing his throat.
"Hinata, hey….." he says slowly.
"Hi," I reply waving nervously. "Did you sleep well?" He stands up taller walking over to me.
"Yes," he chuckles. "Um….can you keep this between us."
"I can," I reply. Wow, so Asahi and Yamaguchi huh. Yamaguchi sighs breaking my thoughts.
"How did you know what I was referring to?" he inquires.
"Your hair," I reply. "Then your um blushing cheeks aren't helping." Yamaguchi grabs his cheeks with both hands.
"These darn things give me away every time!" he exclaims. I hold in laugh because he sounds so serious. "I'm glad to know you will keep my secret and I will keep yours." Say what?
"What do you mean?" I ask. Yamaguchi gazes at me timidly.
"I got thirsty and came out here for water last night," he explains. Oh no….. "I heard you and Kageyama upstairs. Sounded good by the way." Oh god damnit. I blame Kageyama attaching my neck. I didn't know that was such a hot spot for me. "How long you guys been together." I turn away from him.
"We're not together," I reply. "It was a mutual understanding."
"Oh, I see," he says slowly. "I think you guys would make a great couple."
"I don't want to date him," I reply. I want Miya, no one else. "Kageyama doesn't want to date me either. Like I said mutual understanding." I clear my throat. "What about you though….you and Asahi?" Yamaguchi giggles.
"It wasn't on purpose I swear!" he exclaims excitedly. "I didn't start liking him until college. He really showed me the ropes, how to loosen up. Tsukishima isn't the partying type as you know so I didn't have him to rely on for the first time in my life." Yamaguchi almost sounds sad about that. Seeing how close Kageyama and I are, I can't imagine going to college going through new things without him. "Anyway, I started exploring other sides of myself thus how I ended up here. What's your story though? I was surprised but not at the same time." I scramble the hash browns before turning my attention back to him.
"How did you know I was um into guys?" I ask.
"I didn't!" replies Yamaguchi. "I mean you just always seem really fluid if I had a word for it." I never had anyone say that about me.
"Oh, um thanks I guess," I reply with a smile. "I didn't want anyone to know."
"Why not us?" inquires Yamaguchi. "Our team is the most fluid I have ever seen. Sugawara, Noya, now you and Kageyama."
"Wait, Noya is bi?" I ask.
"Yeah," he replies leaning on the counter beside the stove. "He didn't tell anyone of course. It wasn't just girls he was hooking up with at the other schools if you get my drift. Don't tell him I spilled his secret." I am in disbelief. Man, the guys on our team were keeping all kinds of secrets. "I'm glad Asahi is bi because I felt so….confused, lost….."
"It can be that way in the beginning," I admit. "I have known since I was in middle school. I was afraid which is why I kept it a secret." I keep from shaking remembering how my classmates back then teased me. So cruel. Yamaguchi nods.
"It's not easy I will say that," he replies. "Sorry I didn't mean to start talking about our preferences. Are you guys okay from the lost last night?"
"We will be fine," I reply turning back to the stove. "I will be going to see my mom today with Kageyama. Get in some family time."
"That's good," he replies. "I will let you get back to that yummy breakfast. I'll talk to you later."
"For sure," I reply. "I'm curious to know how things happened with you know who last night." Yamaguchi blushes nodding before leaving out. By the time I'm done cooking breakfast Kageyama is coming down the stairs. I take my eyes off him because I must admit he is looking good in his house shorts and tee. "Hey, I just fixed your plate."
"Thanks," he replies sitting down at the table. "This should hold me over until we see your mom."
"Absolutely," I reply fixing my plate. I don't have nearly as much as Kageyama. I sit down across from him. I go for my hash browns first. I cooked them in butter, onions and pepper. Yummy. No need for ketchup on these babies. I start chewing as Kageyama is eating. "I should have brought my phone with me."
"You don't need it," says Kageyama. "You doing okay? You seem off."
"I'm good Kage," I reply. "Just thinking about classes, when we should go to the bar." He chuckles.
"I feel more confident in going," he replies. "Although, I'm not interested in really meeting anyone."
"I thought you were?" I question in shock. Kageyama appears caught off guard by my tone. I mean he wanted some experience specifically for confidence when going out.
"I have my reasons," says Kageyama. "I will still go out. Put myself out there as you say. I just don't care to have a serious relationship at the moment."
"Why the change in heart?" I inquire.
"Does it matter," states Kageyama as Asahi comes out of his room. He is yawning and stretching. His hair looks just as wild as Yamaguchi.
"Morning," he replies. "God that smells good."
"Got some more if you want," I offer. "Help yourself."
"How was your scary movie?" asks Kageyama. "I heard more laughter than screams." Asahi chuckles.
"Yeah," he replies walking into the kitchen grabbing a plate. "One of the movies definitely felt like a joke. The other one was scary. You know the long hair, cracking bones type."
"That is a hell no for me," I note turning away from him. I don't even want to think about it. Asahi fixes his plate and a glass of apple juice sitting at the table next to Kageyama.
"How was your night last night?" he asks. My mind is immediately flooded with the mini sexual act we did.
"It was great," replies Kageyama.
"That's good considering what happened with the game and all," Asahi states before shoving some food.
"That's what best friends are for," says Kageyama. "They tend to make everything better." I glare at Kageyama but he begins eating as if he didn't just say something….I don't know. Weird. Asahi begins to tell us about the movies they watched in more detail. I am glad because I don't want Kageyama saying anything else. I know he would never tell what happened but it certainly felt like he was going to slip up. I hope he handles things much better in front of my family.
