Chapter 9

Edward

On the way to the studio, Jasper peppered me with questions.

Alice here, Alice there.

Of course, I was polite and answered his questions as best I could.

My thoughts were with Bella ... and in the shower.

I sighed.

It was a long time until tonight, but then was Bella-time again. Inside I was jumping for joy and thinking about what I could wish for. We've been making love for the last ten years, but this new experience is a revelation. Phenomenal. We absolutely have to compensate that, what we have missed.

Jasper interrupted my reverie.

We were there.

The time really dragged, every five minutes I looked at my watch.

Maybe it's broken?

My hope was dashed when I asked Jasper what time it was.

Great.

During the break we went for a drink and Jasper continued his Alice interrogation.

"Tell me, Edward, do you think Alice would go out with me?"

He looked at me.

"Ask her, but I think she'll say yes."

My thoughts were still with Bella. I had elaborated my wish, now only my treasure was missing.

"Hi Edward," purred a voice beside me.

Jennifer.

"Good afternoon, Jennifer."

I nodded to her; she sat down next to me ... close. I slid further.

Why do women see me differently now? I am still the same! Just a new hairstyle. Were they all so superficial and only went by appearances? Otherwise they didn't pay any attention to me and only spoke the most necessary things to me.

"We can go out together sometime. What do you think?"

She stretched herself towards me.

Where is Emmett when you need him!

Jasper coughed and I could tell he was stifling a laugh.

Super.

"Thanks Jennifer. Not interested."

She was not deterred.

"If you change your mind. Jasper knows my number."

She batted her heavily made-up eyelashes.

Horrible. Why don't you just go away and leave me alone? I want to my Bella!

"If you don't mind, I still have business to discuss with Edward."

That was a good answer. Why can't I come up with something like that on my own?

She stood up and bent down to my ear.

I flinched.

"We can have a lot of fun together!" she said, and finally she left.

I took a deep breath.

"Does this kind of thing happen to you often?" laughed Jasper, and I gave him a dirty look.

"Since ..." I pointed to my head. "... My new haircut. I don't look much different," I grumbled.

"Small changes can have big repercussions," he revealed.

I have also noticed that. When all the fuss is over, I let the hair grow back and everything is as before. Well, not everything. My new explorations with Bella will be further expanded.

The last note was played, and I had to hear Bella's voice immediately. I went out into the hallway and took my cell phone out of my pocket.

"Hi Edward."

Not again. If I ignore her, maybe she'll move on. No.

"Do you have any plans? We can go out for coffee."

Josephine.

"No, thank you."

Keep walking, I want to talk to Bella on the phone.

I smiled politely at her, and she took a hissing breath.

What's wrong with women?

She stretched her bosom in front of her and licked her lips.

"Wait, let me give you my phone number."

What am I supposed to do with that?

"No, thank you, Josefine. I'm really not interested. I have some business to discuss with Jasper."

That worked, she continued walking and turned around once more.

"If you change your mind, Jasper has my number."

What number didn't Jasper have?

I dialed our number.

Finally.

"Yes?"

Already I felt better. Hearing Bella's voice calmed me down.

"Honey, we're done. You can come," I said with relief.

"I will, Honey Bunny. Kisses and see you soon," she chirped into the phone.

"See you in a bit. I miss you," I said and hung up.

Yes. Bella will be here soon.

Relief flooded through me.

She was right. I got through the day, just about.

"Hi Edward!" it fluted behind me.

Jennett.

"No, I'm not interested, and I don't want your phone number."

Without looking at her, I went back to Jasper.

When I was finally able to hold Bella in my arms again, I didn't care about anything else.

I wanted to feel her, to sense my fingers and my skin against hers.

I almost forgot that we were standing in the entrance area of the recording studio, but my father reminded me. Somehow I was grateful to him, too - I almost lost control of myself. Jasper showed my family everything.

In one of my clearer moments, I noticed Alice.

She looked like a cowgirl, and it looked kind of ... good.

Touching Bella was like an aphrodisiac. I nibbled and licked her ear, and my desire came back to me.

"Bella ... honey. "

She was shaking a little.

"My wish ... I've been pondering all day ... you ... tonight, in the super-hot new underwear ... in our bed."

A beautiful blush settled on her cheeks.

She turned her head slightly and whispered, "Honey Bunny ..., I ... um ... hate to disappoint you, but I got my period."

Why does she disappoint me?

Then her words seeped into my fogged brain.

NOOOO ...!

I stopped and looked at her.

That can't be, there is no God! Apparently not!

The burning in my throat increased and I had to swallow it down, because otherwise I would have broken down and cried in front of the assembled crew.

Oh God, do you hate me that much?

"No!" was the only thing I could manage.

The fuss that I was making was calling my mother's attention. I answered like a robot.

Nothing mattered. I was doomed.

Jasper led us on, and my thoughts calmed down again.

Something like that didn't last months, just a few days. A hell of five long days. Focus, Edward. Focus your thoughts, practice self-control.

"I'll be right back," I excused myself and headed for the restrooms.

I had myself under control again.

I could continue to touch them and kiss them.

After I finished and washed my hands, I opened the door to be back with my sweetheart as soon as possible.

Outside the men's room were three ladies who looked at me ... lustfully.

Is there never an end to it?

I smiled politely, my best grin.

That's how I used to soften up my mother. I couldn't use the Jasper line here. They didn't even know Jasper!

"Ladies."

Politeness always wins. But not here. Not in this universe.

They rushed at me screeching, tugging at my shirt, trying to kiss me.

My only escape route - back to the toilet. They would not dare to follow me.

I rushed into the first cabin I saw and locked it.

What should I do now?

I thought about it for a moment, then I had the solution, the only solution.

Bella.

With trembling hands, I took my cell phone out of my pocket and dialed Bella's number.

"Yes?"

I have never been so happy to hear them.

"Bella, you have to save me!"

I must sound completely desperate.

"What's wrong?" her now concerned voice said.

"I'm in the men's room and I can't get out. Bring Emmett and hurry up."

Emmett had to chase away the pack of hungry harpies outside the door.

Not a minute later, I heard Bella's and Emmett's voices. I was saved.

"Edward? Where are you?"

I was immensely relieved to hear Emmett's voice.

"Come out."

I unlocked the door and stuck my head out.

"Gee, buddy, can't a guy leave you alone for two minutes."

He grinned at me.

He'll still hold that against me in twenty years. Great.

"I can handle one woman by myself by now, but three is too many. Thanks for the rescue. Where's Bella?"

"She keeps the broads in line."

My Bella alone with these ... these dangerous witches. I had to get to her, save her.

Emmett opened the door. Only one witch was still present and she was discussing with Bella.

"Don't you have any decency? Where is your self-esteem? Have you no shame?" my sweetheart hissed at the woman.

"Listen, sweetie. There's the hottest guy in the universe in that bathroom, and he's not going to slip through my fingers. I always get what I want," she puffed up her chest in front of Bella.

"I'm not your sweetie and the hot guy is MY MAN! Got it! Did I make myself clear!"

She was so authoritarian. I hope I never upset her so much that she talks to me like that.

Emmett chuckled.

Their heads flew in our direction. I straightened my shoulders, I could handle one woman.

"Bella."

I smiled at her.

"Edward."

I was at home.

Emmett pushed the woman along and she left. I really needed to get some tips from Emmett.

"This is between you and me, Emmett. Got it." I looked at him and he swayed his head back and forth. "Emmett."

My tone was threatening and pleading at the same time.

"Yeeaaah ... buddy, you got it, but I have a free wish."

Today is the day of wishes, why not.

"Deal. But not a word ... to anyone."

He nodded solemnly.

"You scared me, Honey Bunny."

She stood on her tiptoes and breathed a kiss on my lips.

"I didn't mean to."

I kissed her back.

"Come on, guys, the others are suspicious enough already."

Emmett was right.

"Wait Edward."

Bella took out a handkerchief and wiped around my face. I looked at her questioningly.

"Lipstick."

Aha ...

Then she closed the first two buttons of my shirt.

"Esmé and Carlisle can't find out about this. When they hear what happened here, the devil will break loose, and they will pull out the hair of every woman in the place one by one. Their son-man is the most important thing and nothing and no one lays a hand on him."

Emmett laughed at that, but he was right. They were not to know. I saw my mother glaring at the women and my father standing behind her like a Germanic god with long hair flowing.

What has gotten into these women? If this goes on, I'm going to need personal security.

Back at the table, the others looked at us questioningly.

I forgot to make a pretext. Crap.

"Baby, are you okay?"

My mom looked at me worriedly.

"Yeah Mom, it's okay." What am I saying, "The ... um ... latch got stuck and I couldn't get out. That's when I called Bella to send Emmett and get me out."

That sounds logical. Phew!

"Thank you Emmett for freeing my baby, but your father would have done the same."

Yeah sure, Mom.

I smiled at them reassuringly, that always worked. The others laughed and made fun of my mishap.

I hope they also get into such a situation one day, then they won't laugh anymore.

We talked for a while longer and my dad paid the bill.

Nothing more stood in the way of 'going home'.

My sweetheart snuggled into my arms, and I was just happy to be able to hold her.

What a day! I won't forget it in a hurry.

"I love you, Edward," Bella said, rubbing her nose against my chest.

"I love you too, Bella," and cuddled her back.

Snuggled together, we fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up alone in our bed. I looked at the alarm clock.

Shortly after nine o'clock.

I scurried into the shower and cleaned my body.

I skirted the minefield that was halfway up on a large scale. Just one wrong move and I would explode. A little water running over it had to be enough.

In the kitchen was only my mom and greeted me profusely. She made me early piece and I went in the meantime on the terrace, armed with a cup of coffee.

I sat down next to Rosalie, and we talked a little.

My sweetheart was with Jake. She cuddled him, he liked that. Romping and rolling across the lawn, Bella shrieked with delight.

This stupid sheep can just roll around with Bella and I can't. If I were a lion, the little lamb had nothing to laugh about. Great, now I'm already jealous of a sheep. What a beautiful morning.

Bella noticed me and hurried to me. She sat down on my lap and hugged and kissed me.

That's better.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked, kissing my forehead.

"Yes honey."

I laid my head against her chest.

At least something. The countdown began: four days - nine hours - forty-one minutes. We'll leave out the seconds for the moment.

I set my wristwatch and the countdown started backwards.

Bella

I left with quick steps and Emmett in tow, rescuing my Honey Bunny. From whatever.

Emmett asked what was wrong, and I explained in terse terms.

He laughed and shook his head.

Arriving at the toilets, I saw three women almost tearing themselves apart in front of the men's room.

"I saw him first."

"He's mine."

"Don't you dare touch him."

Emmett chortled and pushed past the hysterical broads.

My poor Honey Bunny, they must have ambushed him. I cannot tolerate that.

"Excuse me, have you seen my husband. He was just playing the piano."

The scolding stopped. They looked at me and two of them seemed ashamed. They mumbled apologies and disappeared.

There you go. Not so hard.

But the third one looked at me haughtily. I gave her a little lecture. She showed no insight.

How can you sink so low.

Then Edward came out.

He was completely disheveled. Poor Honey Bunny. There was some lipstick on one cheek. They must have pounced on him like licentious harlots.

I straightened his clothes and wiped off the lipstick.

What an evening!

The next morning I woke up early. I took a shower and went downstairs. Esmé was already awake and scurrying around the kitchen.

"Good morning, Esmé."

"Good morning, Honey. Did you sleep well? Is my baby coming soon too? Are you hungry? Would you like some coffee? Carlisle already went to the bakery."

She hugged me.

"Edward is still asleep and a coffee wouldn't be bad."

She pushed me to the chair, pushed me onto it under the motto: I am Esmé. Resistance is futile.

She put a cup of coffee down in front of me and sat down with me.

"Is everything okay with you guys? Edward seems so different. You don't have any problems, do you? You can tell me anything, Honey, you know that."

She patted my arm.

"Everything is fine with us, Esmé. Don't worry, things are going better than ever."

I smiled at her.

"My baby is so different ... looser, not so stiff. You two don't do drugs, do you?"

She was worried about her son.

"For God's sake, no Esmé! We're not doing drugs. We just want to loosen up a little, you know, not quite so ..."

I didn't know how to finish the sentence.

"That's wonderful." She clapped her hands. "Have fun. You're still young, after all, and you can experience so much."

Yes, she is right about that.

"We're doing the best we can."

"Very well, other topic. Why do I still have no grandchildren?"

I was just about to squirm out of it.

"Esmé. Leave the kid alone." Carlisle came into the kitchen and put the rolls on the table. "Good morning, Bella."

"Good morning, Carlisle."

Edward had a lot from his father. The height. The green eyes. The good looks he had from both.

Rosalie came into the kitchen elated and Esmé pounced on her.

This way I have my peace.

Alice sat down with me, and I asked her about Jasper.

"Imagine. He wants to go out with me. A date. Isn't that awesome," she gushed.

"And did you say yes?"

She snorted and said, "Bella, of course I said yes."

It's not that natural. They've only known each other for a short time. But I have no qualms about Jasper. He's kind and polite, a true gentleman.

And she talked and raved about him. I was happy for her.

Esmé once again wandered through our house rearranging vases, figurines and flowerpots.

In the house, the energy should flow better. Everything in harmony with Ying and Yang.

I decided to surf the Internet a bit.

Research.

But then Emmett arrived, and I postponed it until later.

If he caught me at it, not to think.

So I went into the garden. I had not played with Jake for a long time. We romped across the lawn and sometimes I think a dog got lost on him. He even fetched sticks.

He is a funny sheep, but a sweet one.

My Honey Bunny was awake. He looked so good fresh out of the shower.

No, Bella, he always looks good. Yes, he did.

He was talking to Rosalie and watching me play with Jake. He looked a little grumpy.

I'll change that right away.

I hopped up on the patio and sat on his lap and greeted him.

He smelled so good.

The others joined us, and we planned the big shopping trip for tomorrow.

Esmé stuffed us all with food and read her son's every wish from his eyes.

In the afternoon, the women whirled around the house cleaning up, except Rose, she had to make herself comfortable on the sofa. She protested, but Esmé did not allow any back talk.

I put new sheets on our bed and dusted, and when I looked out the window, I was speechless.

Edward and Emmett stood on the lawn in just their athletic shorts, looking at each other.

He looked so good, his well-toned upper body, his arm muscles - a magnificent sight.

"Come on, Ed, let's get our dream bodies going a little bit."

A laugh rang out.

Rosalie.

"Yes, Emmett, your dream body is very very much in need of it."

Everyone laughed.

Emmett didn't think it was funny.

I took advantage of the hour and sneaked to the computer. That way, no one would disturb me, or rather catch me out.

What is the best way to start. Search engine is a good choice. What do I enter.

I pondered.

Sex is probably the best term.

First on the list was Wikipedia.

That was not what I was looking for. 'Sex in practice' sounded better. What all there was. One blush just from reading and looking at pictures. One also had to be a contortionist to get these contortions. The Kama Sutra was frightening to say the least, all that was not possible at all. Never in life. And those were just the positions.

A throat clearing next to my ear startled me and I cried out.

What a bummer!
