Alphaknight99: Glad you liked it. I don't think you can consider Venom Sting as a mutant power, considering that Ben has that power due to Peter's Spider genetics but the audience that saw Ben playing interpreted it as if he was a mutant power. Yes, mutant discrimination is something Ben will have to face but at least he has his family on his side. About the possibility of Sora sharing Ben with Sora and Irene…well, I'm not sure if that's actually going to happen or not, it all depends on my decisions.
MAB86: I'm happy to be evolving. The chapters I wrote were initially short but then my ideas came in and, when I noticed, my chapters started to be over 6,000 words long. It's a good feeling to have evolved so much. And I still have to thank you so much for inspiring me to write.
Vfc15650: Yes, I was very excited to show readers the current status of the Parker family and that now they were all married and had children. In fact, as we are so close to Christmas. I was even thinking of doing a special kind of episode for this anniversary and showing Parker Clan's Christmukkah dinner and showing what it's like when they spend the holidays together.
Maybe I'll write about Peter and Kitty's bachelor parties in a separate fanfic where each chapter is a kind of one-shot that explains in more detail how the current couples and family that exist in this fanfic started.
Wildcard Sparda: I'm glad you liked it. I always wanted to write Parker Clan having a funny family dynamic but also kind of crazy because of the fact that everyone has superpowers.
And I also thought it was important to show Ben's opinion because now that he's involved with the
World of the X-Men, it would be important to show his perspective on mutants.
Shadow: Glad to hear you liked it and know that in the future you will also notice that Ben/Necro will have some gadgets and abilities similar to a certain Samurai from video games. This character is Brazilian, has a red sword and is from the game Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.
By the way, I liked your idea about Beatrice being nicknamed Trish so I'm going to use that.
Sergio Kirelli: I'm happy to have reached as good a level as MAB86 with just one year of experience as a fanfic writer. Seriously, if it weren't for his stories, I wouldn't even write fanfics.
As for what's been going on in the comics and all, I'm going to adapt a lot of current elements from the comics into my fanfic but maybe I'll change some events because I don't like certain points or because I just prefer it in a different way.
Sorry for not answering all your questions, it's just that they are such complex questions that it's even kind of complicated to think of a right answer.
But I loved your ideas, you are very creative.
Defender: About the other spiders, they are all alive and living their lives. I just haven't decided when the right time would be to show them but I'll mention them soon just to clear the doubts of the readers. As for Wanda, she is still alive and the events of Trial of Magneto have already happened and she will appear in the future.
Guest: Sorry for the delay, I admit it happened because I'm very lazy and procrastinate a lot.
Street Poser: I wouldn't say he would trill them but you can expect funny dialogue with him joking around in front of the Council members and not feeling any fear at all and because of that, everyone starts to think he's boldly stupid. But deep down, he's willing to fight if necessary. All the other spiders are alive and living their lives, but I'm still not sure how they fit into a fanfic that focuses on the next generation of mutants/Spider-heroes.
Fear of Worthy (Review 2): I agree that the X-Men have always been very unfair to Spider-Man and that the writers never quite get his stories right and the Spidey comics just seem to make events just regress further.
any more and it takes all the fun out of reading a Spider-Man story because he's in the same status quo as he was ten years ago.
As for Ben mentioning this to the Council, I think it should happen but not currently due to the fact that Xavier and Magneto still think they have the full authority and are always right about their decisions and the same goes for certain members of the Council. Advice. So Ben should mention that but probably more in the future, you know?
Huule611998: Ah, relax, that's not going to happen. That's not in my plans. And honestly, Ben would be the main obstacle for Xavier and Magneto but he is an omega level mutant who will get more powerful as the story progresses.
The Unlimited Omni-Spider: Strength comes from training.
After a busy day, Ben was finally able to go home. Honestly, this might have been the most confusing and craziest day of his life and he wasn't even awake at times, apparently.
To recap: Ben found Sora, they defeated the Black Dragons and their boss, they kissed, and then Ben came home feeling happier than ever...
And then, he slept and another consciousness had taken over his body. Necro-Spider. Necro also went completely crazy.
He went to Krakoa, threatened Selene Gallio and even killed a huge monster, alone!
Not to mention that after that, he went to London, killed Selene and then ended up passing out in an alley.
Afterwards, Ben woke up, found Sora with Irene and Dawn and then got drunk, played guitar for a live audience and finally came home to sleep...again.
This time, Ben managed to sleep well and without interruptions.
Now, the morning after last night's events, Ben was waking up and luckily he didn't have a hangover.
Ben: Hmmm, looks like my new powers might also keep me from getting drunk for too long. Cool...no hangovers. But what's the use of that? - Ben asked himself because, honestly, he never felt like drinking beer or anything like that.
Ben got up from the bed and noticed that he still had that lock of red hair. And his black coat with red trim was now on the chair at his desk along with the sword that Necro had created last night.
Upon touching the sword, Ben has some quick flashes of memory.
Ben can only see a few things.
But he can see the following:
He was seeing everything as if it was his vision (Like in those First Person games) and he saw himself creating the sword he was currently holding, he saw himself putting on that black and red coat and also got to see himself swinging in the webs while heading to a Krakoan Gate.
After that, the only thing he could see was him swinging across London rooftops and then waking up in the alley last night.
Ben: But what...? What was this? I know I was in London last night but...why?
Ben was scared, he was scared that someone might have been able to control his mind and make him hurt other people or worse.
Ben couldn't stop feeling worried. What if he hurt, or worse, he killed some innocent?
But then...all the guilt was gone in a moment. Ben could remember right but he could feel it.
He didn't hurt any innocents or civilians.
Everyone was fine and he even remembered helping some people on their way to Krakoa. So Ben was calm and no longer felt guilty. But Ben still wanted to understand several things.
Why was he in London at all? And why did he create this sword?
He was pulled out of his thoughts as he looked at his desk chair and saw that the katana he created…well, Necro created it was still there and it was next to his black coat with red accents.
Ben's Reality Warping works according to his thoughts and his will and this sword had the right proportions of a sword that Ben had always wanted.
Ben then gets up and takes the sword to test it. He examines the sword for a closer look.
Ben: This sword is light but the metal of the blade looks great. The blade angle is also ideal. Not to mention the length. And the grip is great. I just think there's a problem.- He said looking at the katana's Handguard, the circular part that was between the handle and the blade.- This tsuba (handguard in Japanese) is circular and has the theme of a web. That's cool, but this tsuba is kind of small. I think I can work this out.
He concentrates and uses his powers to change the shape of the tsuba. Now, the tsuba was bigger and had better durability. Ben also changed the shape of the tsuba. Tsuba was now shaped like a spider symbol, the same as Ben.
Ben: Now, yes. A weapon worthy of a samurai.- Ben said as he started to check the sword while practicing some strokes.
For those curious, yes, Ben has a huge fascination with samurai and loves to read about it.
Not to mention he's read books like The Art of War and The Book of Five Rings like ten times since he was 10. He knows the greats of samurai like Musashi Miyamoto, Tomoe Gozen, Takeda Shingen and several others.
The kids of the X-Men think that Ben's fixation on Japanese culture was derived from his addiction to anime and manga, but that's only half the story.
Ben and his siblings have kendo training that Kitty has been giving them since they were kids. They were skilled and very talented. So much so that in training matches on Krakoa, Ben and Casey always had to fight each other, as there were few people, their age, who could match their skill with swords.
Ben then began testing the sword.
First, he makes a slash with the sheathed sword and then another and then, he uses the lower part of the katana to deliver a straight type attack. He then draws his sword at an upward vertical angle and makes a quick movement and then he slides the sword left, right, up and down. He does all this in a fluid way.
Ben: Okay, this sword can easily be used with my sword fighting techniques.- Ben has immense practice in sword techniques, in fact, he's been practicing since he was 11 years old.
Ben: Okay…now, let's try it with my kenjutsu. - Notice that Ben said Kenjutsu and not Kendo. And…that's true.
Kitty was a Kendo instructor at the FEAST Center, and she taught these classes to be self-defense training.
Her children had been attending these classes since they were eight years old and had gotten very good at it.
Even Kitty's older students were impressed by the level of talent Ben, Casey and May had.
Even before Ben and Casey awakened their powers, they practiced Kendo and were very good at it.
But Ben was the best because he had a passion for sword fighting and he thought it was amazing.
However, Kenjutsu was something else.
While Kendo is a sport that involves fighting with wooden swords to get points, Kenjutsu was the martial art of the samurai that sent various techniques that were done with the aim of killing the opponent.
And yes, it was Kitty who taught them Kenjutsu. But she wasn't the only one. The siblings had another sensei.
While remembering his past with martial arts and sword fighting, he decides to change clothes to go to his closet/pocket universe and practice his swings with his new sword. He goes into his closet to see what clothes he can find.
Ben: Man, I never thought I'd be able to create a universe inside my closet. It's insane and amazing at the same time. Now, where is my closet? My real closet. - He says and then Ben's closet and clothes appear in front of him and he decides to get training pants.
He picks up and puts on his harem pants, which were pants that were baggy in the legs and Ben wore pants for training.
Ben: These pants are good to wear to training. I can't be practicing my kicks in jeans. Not after the…incident.
Flashback:
A year ago, Ben and his siblings were in Central Park and they had tied a watermelon to the branches of a tree because Ben wanted to test the speed of their kicks.
May: Sure you can kick a hanging watermelon at this point?
Casey: Wait, I want to record it to post on YouTube.
May: Why?
Casey: A lot of people keep posting our fights with the villains there and getting views, so let's make money some other way.
Ben: Making videos of me kicking a watermelon?
Casey: Why not? This could turn the new wave of the internet. Like when everyone was trying to get the cap off a bottle of water by kicking the bottle with a spinning kick. And people love to see fruit bursting.
May: It's surprising how much you know about this.
Casey: Everyone knows that. Go Ben, kick that watermelon.
Ben: Okay, right.- Ben says as he positions himself and he runs towards the watermelon and then does a horizontal spin kick and splits the watermelon in two.
Ben: Got it!
Casey: Cool. Damn it! I forgot to press the record button.
Ben: Do we have more watermelons?
May: No, we only had one.
Ben: There must be a grocery store around here, I must get some watermelon there.- He says, turning around, but then Casey and May see that Ben… ended up ripping his pants while doing the kick.
Ben: What's up?
May: Ehh, I think we'd better continue training at home. Casey: It's better.
Ben: Oh, okay, let's go.
May: Wait!- She takes her green coat and wraps it around Ben's waist to cover the tear in his pants.
May: Let's- She says as she nods to Casey as he walks in front of Ben while May walks behind him to make sure that nothing happens and that no one can see the tear in Ben's pants.
End of flashback.
Ben: It took me three hours to notice that tear. Glad Casey and May were with me. In situations like these, Parker Luck can work in even the worst ways. It was at that moment that I promised, not to train in jeans.- Ben puts on his harem pants and he decides not to wear any shirts because it tends to restrict some of his movements.
Ben then puts on his Air Jordans and then creates space in his closet to train. Ben always liked Japan and found many places to be beautiful. In fact, there's one thing he always wanted to have.
Ben: Wait, this place works according to my will…so…- He uses his powers to then turn the empty white room into a Japanese garden with a practice deck and in that garden there were cherry blossom trees.- Haha ! Nice! Nothing like sword practice under the cherry blossoms.
The garden was not limited to just one house, there were several buildings that resembled houses in Japan.
(Think that the scenario Ben created is the same as the Japanese Garden that appeared in a stage of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance)
Back to the story, it wasn't just Kitty who taught Ben, May and Casey martial arts. There was someone else.
Flashback:
Kitty:Benny honey, class is over.- Kitty told 13 year old Ben that, unlike the other students, who used to use everyday objects to make their armor to look like the ones kendo practitioners wear, Ben used to wear a kendo training kimono, similar to the kimonos that samurai wore.
Ben said that he couldn't depend on armor as it could easily be taken away from him. Everything could be taken from him in a fight and he knew it.
Ben wasn't very sociable at school as he preferred not to talk to people for fear they would think he was weird. So when he wasn't doing anything at school, Ben would read about samurai, their stories and their way of life.
He admired samurai and their politics and codes of honor, so much so that Ben even considered adopting some of a samurai's philosophies for himself.
Kitty was surprised to find this out, but it just proves that Ben inherited the same ability she had.
As skillful as all three siblings were, it was Ben who used to research samurai whenever he got the chance.
Ben: I know mom, but I can't stop training, I have to get more skillful.- He said while moving his feet with great fluidity, thanks to the exercises he was doing.
In fact, Ben was as good a swordsman as he was a martial artist thanks to everything Kitty taught him.
When their kids asked for training, Kitty and Peter went out of their way to teach them. Peter taught them what he remembered from the Way of Spider and Kitty taught them about the martial arts that Logan taught her, not to mention the kendo training and physical exercises she told her kids to do whenever they woke up.
She obviously took it easy on them since they were kids. But honestly, it makes them angry.
There was even a time when Iceman talked to Ben and he said that when the Original Five were in the present, Kitty made them do fifty push-ups and then Iceman said that Ben is lucky to only have to do twenty push-ups.
Obviously Ben and his siblings didn't take this well and told Kitty that she was treating them like little babies so she started being stricter and required them to do fifty push-ups before each workout.
This, luckily, motivated Peter and Kitty's children even more. Ben, Casey and May had incredible dedication and talent. They were great fighters and knew a lot of things.
They were good fighters, scientists and in fact, they were even good dancers thanks to Kitty's ballet lessons.
There was even a time when a bunch of bullies made fun of Ben when he was practicing his ballet moves in the schoolyard and Ben ended up using a Taekwondo kick to knock them to the ground.
He was suspended for two days but he said it was worth it.
Back at what was being said, Kitty noted how dedicated Ben was in his training and continued to practice his moves with precision.
Meanwhile, she also saw that Casey and May were in the practice room. Casey was 13 years old too while May was 15.
Casey was practicing his punches against a training dummy and May was practicing her kata.
Kitty: You guys really don't get tired of training, do you?
Ben: Nah!
Casey: It's with training that we get stronger.
May: And more skilled.
Kitty laughed as she realized that, despite being very young, they had tremendous willpower.
Kitty: Oh, you three are just like Pete. But come on, we have to go or we'll be late for dinner with Aunt May at home.
Ben: Was it today?
Casey: Yeah, silly. I've been trying to remind you of this for an hour.
May: Stop arguing. Come on, brats.
Ben: Hey! We're not brats, and you're not even that much older than we are. It's only two years apart.
Kitty: Stop! Come on, we have to go.- She says and everyone agrees and gets changed.
Now, they were in the car.
Peter: So how was training today? Did they learn something new?
May: It was the same old stuff. You know, practice the movements and the angles of the punches.
Kitty: Are you saying that my training is basic?-She looked at May with a scary smile and it looked like one of her eyes was shining with anger.
The three siblings and Peter were nervous to see Kitty like this.
May: No! I'm just saying that I think we've learned almost everything we could.
Ben: I even think that's true. Like, mom, there are things you know but don't teach, right?
Kitty: Yes. There are certain things that I think it's best not to teach my students at FEAST.
Casey: Why?
Peter: Children, your mother knows a lot of things that can be dangerous. I've seen her fight, and even though she looks beautiful when she does it...
Kitty: Awww!- She blushes and kisses Peter's cheek.
Peter: Your mother knows deadly techniques.
Ben: Are you talking about Japanese martial arts and also her training with Krav Maga?
Peter: Yeah…
Casey: I always forget, what is Krav Maga anyway?
May: It's a self-defense technique created by Israel Mossad. And, yes, the combat techniques are brutal.
Ben: How brutal?
May: They have chokes and punches that can crack their opponents' skulls.
Ben: Oh, I want to learn how to crack a skull.
Casey: Me too.
Peter: Listen, these techniques are not something you can joke about. These are teachings that can make you capable of causing permanent harm to someone. But…I'm not a professional martial artist or anything. Kitty is. So I think it's only fair that she has the final say on this.
Kitty was thinking about it. Her children were not helpless little children. They knew how to fight and were very good at it. Not to mention, as an X-Man and having lived with mutants her entire life, she knows how horrible the world can get.
It could be overpowered by someone like En-Sabah-Nur, some alien invasion could happen and wipe out the entire planet or something else could happen involving the world governments or the Sentinels.
The world would never stop being dangerous, and she knew she wouldn't be there forever to protect her children. And there were people in this world who were far more cruel and powerful than the enemies their children were used to.
That's it, they were responsible and self conscious and they fight to protect other people. They were big and ready.
Kitty: All right, let's start the next step of your training soon. But you will take this seriously. And you will listen carefully to all the lessons that will be given to you.
Siblings: Yes, mother!
Peter: Kitty…I don't doubt your decision, but how exactly do you plan on training them? The FEAST Center's equipment isn't good enough to withstand the super strength of three spider children who can lift a car.
Kitty: I know, but I'm not going to teach alone either. To teach them three properly, I'm going to need help.
Peter:…..Really? Do you think he will agree?
Kitty: We always knew this day would come. Let's just hope he doesn't smoke around the kids- She said laughing.
Peter: Yeah, but it's fine. You're right. We trust him and it will be good for children to learn that from someone who taught you too.
Kitty: That's true.- Kitty took out her cell phone and texted someone.
Next week…
Now the Parker-Pryde family was packed and waiting for someone in their backyard.
Ben: I don't understand. Usually when people travel, don't they go to the airport?
May: It's true, where are we going by the way? You said it would be a training trip but you didn't say who we were going to train with or where.
Casey: Yeah, you said very little about this trip.
Kitty: It's a surprise, kids- she said smiling- Now wait our ride should be arriving.
Peter: I'm surprised she agreed to that.
He said and then a blue portal opened in front of them and from inside the portal came a woman. She was blonde, had blue eyes and appeared to be Russian. She also wore a leather outfit and carried a huge sword. She was Illyana Rasputina, the Magik of the X-Men and also the Current Sorceress Supreme of Earth.
Kitty: Hi, Yana! Thanks for giving us a ride.
Illyana: For you, Katya, anything. How are you, children?
Ben: Great, it's good to see you Aunt Yana.
Peter: Wait, is Illyana taking us?
Kitty: It's just that I asked her as a favor. I saw the flights where we were going but the tickets were sold out so I called the best teleporter I know.
Casey: Man, sometimes I envy mutants for being able to go anywhere using Krakoan Gates.
Alexa: Wow, you're still a pain in the ass, Casey- Now, who was leaving the portal was Alexa, daughter of Illyana.
Casey: What are you doing here?! Oh no, don't tell me we're going to train in Limbo?!
Ben: Let's train in Limbo!? It's fine by me. Let's see if I can kill demons like the protagonist of that Doom game.
Kitty: We're not training in Limbo. And didn't I tell you to stop playing Doom?
Ben: Sorry...
Peter: Thanks for the help, Illyana. And how are you Alexa?- he asks and Alexa hugs him quickly.
Alexa: I'm great Uncle Pete.- Alexa said that as she smiled and then another woman came out of the portal. She had blond hair, but it was so light it looked white. She also had green eyes and wore a black outfit.
??: Oh, hi Pete. And hello, Kitty.- This same woman gave Peter a hug and then she came close to Illyana and kissed her.
Ben, May and Casey: Hi Aunt Felicia!- They greeted the woman and then this same woman went to Illyana and kissed her.
Yes, that woman was Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. And also…
Alexa: Hi mom.
She was the wife of Illyana and the mother of Alexa. crazy? Certainly. Unexpected? No doubt, but it was true.
The story of how they met was funny. Felicia was about to steal an artifact from a museum but was stopped by a cult that was going to steal the artifact to resurrect a demon lord. Spidey and Kitty were nearby so they decided to help Felicia, against Kitty's wishes.
When Kitty realized that this incident had to do with demons, she decided to call Magik for help and the instant they met, Magik and Black Cat felt a certain attraction to each other. Throughout the mission, Peter noticed that they seemed to flirt a lot with each other.
It was at that moment when Peter had realized that Felicia was bisexual. She had never said that to him and they had known each other for years. But that didn't matter much to him.
because he was happy to see that Felicia was liking someone.
At that, Kitty watched the two of them and had an idea. Felicia needed to stop attracting Peter's attention and Magik needed a relationship that was really good. And both Peter and Kitty noticed that the two women actually seemed to like each other.
After the mission, Kitty decided to invite the two of them to have a drink with them at the bar. So Peter and Kitty talked to them for a while, but then they made up an excuse to leave and then Felicia and Illyana were alone talking and…well, they spent the night together. They got along very well and continued to date from that moment on.
Their relationship really had some problems but they managed to get through it together and even got married and had Alexa. Both made the decision to have a daughter together and thought it would be an excellent idea. When Alexa was born, she had inherited personality traits from both of her mothers. In fact, she was a great sorceress and…a great thief. She didn't steal often as Krakoa didn't have a currency system or anything like that. But she was testing her skills by stealing the belongings of people who frequented the Green Lagoon.
But she had a rule to only steal from evil people and never use what she stole for her own benefit. This happened because as much as Felicia was happy that Alexa was like her, she was worried that her daughter would become a criminal because she didn't want that life for Alexa.
Fortunately, Alexa learned countless valuable lessons from Peter and Kitty. Kitty was like a third mother to Alexa and was always helping her when needed. Alexa never had a father and she really wasn't very close to her Uncle Colossus due to him being a member of the Quiet Council. But Peter served as a father to Alexa and she always liked him as a father. He even taught her how to play basketball.
May: If we're not going to Limbo, then where are we going?
Illyana: Enter the portal and find out.
They enter the portal and quickly pass through Limbo, and the demons are staring at Ben and Casey.
Ben: Stop staring at me! This is very strange!
Casey: And you all stink!
They both say this without caring about the demons' anger, but the instant they think about attacking, they earn a glare not from Illyana but from Alexa.
Yeah…the demons of Limbo really feared both Illyana, their current ruler, and Alexa, their…princess, so to speak.
Ben: Thanks for the help, Alex- He says with a nice smile and Alexa blushes in response and Kitty and Magik notice.
Illyana: I think my Alexa likes Ben.
Kitty: I'm glad to hear that. But I think everyone already knew that, she doesn't even try to hide it.
Felicia: I'm glad our little girl is enjoying a good boy. I need to have the talk with her soon
Kitty: Ehh, knowing you, do you really think it's good for you to have the talk with her?
Felicia: I know what you're thinking and relax, I'm just going to talk about the basics. As for the more adult things, I'll tell her when she's about 16.- She said it without concern.
Kitty: Really?- She says while laughing weakly. Before, Kitty hated Felicia for being what Kitty called "Yenta" but, seeing how happy Felicia made Illyana, the two made a deal to let go of that hatred and focus on the present. Which ended up working. Even though Kitty and Felicia aren't "best friends", they still talk and communicate well.
Felicia: Hey, I'm just like that.
Casey: Alexa, you have a boyfriend!- He says but then Alexa punches Casey in the face- Ouch!
Ben: What's up?- He says, and it's evident that Ben didn't pay attention to what Casey said.
Alexa: Ehh, it was nothing. It was just his brother being annoying.
May: That was a good punch, but I think you have to clench your fist more, otherwise you'll break your hand.
Alexa: Got it- She says, taking May's hint. May and Alexa have always been very close because of their mothers friendship and May used to see Alexa as the little sister she always wanted to have.
Peter: Man, these demons stare at us too long. I'm already getting uncomfortable- Peter got used to walking in places like this. He had expected his life to be more normal when he met Kitty but what happened was the complete opposite as he had an ex-mercenary and an ex-witch as sisters-in-law. And his brother-in-law was literally a blue elf.
Illyana: All right, we're here.
They all came out of Limbo and went through a portal and they were now in front of one of those huge Japanese houses in the middle of the forest.
It was possible to hear the sounds of birds, leaves falling and also the sound of a lake.
Ben: Wait, we're in Japan?! Japan?!
May: Yeah, he was really happy. But this is beautiful.
Alexa: Why is Ben so happy?
Casey: He's always loved Japan, and he's always wanted to visit that country. Amazing.
Felicia: He acts like his father.- She says, laughing.
Illyana: Yeah, well, good luck with the training. See you some other time. Come on, Alexa.
Alexa: Okay mom. See you later, Ben.
Ben: I hope to see you again. Let's train any day, I really want to see you again and I also want to fight you. See you later, Alex.- He smiles and Alexa smiles because of it.
Felicia: Aww, they look like us.
Peter: Are you talking about me and you or Illyana and you?
Felicia: I have many memorable relationships. And at least she has good taste like me." She spoke to Peter, but in a joking, not flirtatious tone. He had to know Felicia well to know how to differentiate her tone.
Casey: Alex…- He was about to make a joke but was interrupted by Alexa punching him in the stomach before walking away.
As Illyana, Felicia and Alexa left through the portal, the door to the house opened and a figure very familiar to the Parker-Pryde Family emerged.
???: Haha! Webs and Kitty, it's been a long time.
Peter: What's up, Logan?
Kitty: How are you?
Yes, that someone was James Logan, the Wolverine and also a very close friend of the Parker-Pryde family.
A long time ago he had abandoned Krakoa but why is not known for sure. But even so, he still maintained a strong bond with his former X-Men friends. But now, he wasn't alone either.
??: Ah, you arrived. Welcome to our vacation home in Japan.
Kitty: Hi Jean.
Three siblings: Hi Aunt Jean.
The woman Logan was with was Jean Grey. His wife and the X-Men's Marvel Girl and she was accompanied by a boy Ben and Casey's age and this boy had red hair but his hairstyle was just like Logan's and he looked kind of intimidating as he looked at Ben.
Ben:….Jimmy!- He squealed with joy as the red-haired boy changed his expression to a smile
Jimmy: Ben!- He yelled and then Ben… punched him.- Haha! You are stronger!
Ben: Yeah! It's my turn!- He yelled and then the red-haired boy, called Jimmy, punched Ben too. But…they both seemed to be happy to find each other.
Jean: Boys, isn't there a less violent way for you to greet each other? Like a hug or an old handshake?
Jimmy: Sorry mom.
Yes, exactly. The red-haired boy was Jimmy Grey-Logan. Logan and Jean's son. And Ben's…best friend after Casey. Jimmy had inherited most of Logan's powers like the Healing Factor, claws and sense of smell. But Jimmy's sense of smell is a little better than Logan's for good reason.
Jimmy: Hey, you smell like effort. Still training like a nut? - Jimmy's sense of smell has been improved, probably thanks to Jean's genetics. Jimmy had the ability to recognize emotions and feelings through smell as well. Then he would smell someone and also their emotions like fear and anger.
Ben: You know I do- He smiles then they both lie on the floor and shake each other's hands and start an arm wrestling match.
Kitty: Those two…
Jean: Yeah…but I'm glad Jimmy has a friend like Ben. But how are you Kitty- She says as they hug each other.
Kitty: Nothing too interesting. Things have been quiet lately. So, it's all great. And thank you for letting us stay here.
Logan: We had to leave. You asked me to train the brats during our annual trip to Japan.
Jean: Don't be rude! It's great to have you here. And you could stop calling kids brats. Did you forget that Ben and Casey are our godsons?
That's what you heard. Wolverine and Jean Gray are Ben and Casey's godparents. Like, they were both close to Peter and Kitty.
Logan has always been like a brother to Peter, so much so that they became blood brothers during a time travel adventure, and Logan has always treated Kitty like her daughter and has always been an inspiration to her.
So it made a lot of sense to them that Logan and Jean would be Ben and Casey's godparents.
Not to mention they'd already been hoping the day would come when Logan would have to train Kitty's kids.
Logan: Well, set up in your rooms and have the kiddos put on their kimonos and meet me in the backyard. Training starts today and it's going to be heavy.- He says while lighting a cigar and smiling.
Peter: Do you smoke around your son?
Logan: Relax, webs. I hide my cigars in my pocket. And my beer is sealed in the basement fridge.
Kitty: Really? You?- She laughs when she sees the famous Wolverine being forced to hide his beer and cigars.
Logan: Considering how much my boy looks like me, I thought it best to be careful. If Jeannie sees him smoking or drinking, she's going to kill me and then she's going to kill him.
Peter: Are you afraid of your wife?- He says laughing.
Logan: Shut up, webs.
Ten minutes later, the four kids were on the training deck in the backyard and Logan and Kitty were in front of them.
Logan: Listen well, what I'm going to teach you is no joke. You may think that just having powers makes you victorious in all your battles. But this is wrong. A warrior's greatest strength lies in the power he has in his mind and in his ability to survive the unexpected. Life is full of moments you don't expect to witness. And you may want to run away sometimes, but running away will only make things worse. You have to fight, to protect what you believe in and to protect what matters to you. Everything that is taught here, will be taught to you, not to be used to kill you, but to keep you alive, understood?
Ben, Jimmy, Casey and May: Hai! Sensei!- They shouted and agreed with Logan as they maintained a respectful posture.
Kitty: Well, let's start with the first lesson. When I was your age, Logan taught me Krav Maga. A self-defense technique created by Israel Mossad. At the time, I thought my phasing powers would save me from everything. But I was wrong. You cannot depend on your powers as, just like your katana, your powers can also be taken away from you. Because of that, your father and I made something for the three of you to wear.- She takes a training bag and takes three bracelets from them.
Ben: What is this?
Kitty: Power Inhibitors. Me and Peter did this so you could train the right way. Just using the normal strength of someone your age. Just like I did.
Jimmy: Why didn't I get one?
Logan: His strength is more normal and controlled than that of Kitty's children.
May: Yeah, we can lift a car.
Kitty: And because of all that strength, it means that if you can do well in this training with just the normal strength of a person your age, putting into practice what we train here will be even easier thanks to your Enhanced Strength.
The three put on the inhibitor bracelets.
Ben: Hmm, so that's what it feels like to have no powers. I had forgotten what it was like.
Kitty: You probably got used to it after so long. But if you want to take the inhibitors out and use their powers...
Ben: No need. I really prefer to learn this way. It's harder but it feels fairer and, honestly, I even think it's better not to rely so much on my powers. Dad once told me that Shang-Chi trained him and helped him create the Way of Spider. Mr. Shang told Dad that his Spider-Sense was preventing him from reaching his true potential so…okay, I use the inhibitor. I want to get stronger and find out how far I can go.
Logan: Hah! The boy has more discipline than you did when you were his age.
Kitty: Luckily, he got that from his dad.
Logan: Okay! Let's start, do fifty…no, one hundred push-ups for the warm-up.
Jimmy: What?!- He said, surprised by his father's order to them.
May, Ben and Casey: Yes, Sensei!- The three of them start doing push-ups while Jimmy gets mad at his father.
Logan: Kiddo, if you didn't want to put in the effort, you shouldn't even have put on the gi.
Jimmy: Okay, I'll do the push-ups!- He said in a tone of resignation.
Ben while doing push-ups thought of something.
Ben: Wait, how long is our training going to last?
Logan: As long as it takes. You've just started your summer vacation, so you have a lot of free time.
May: Are we going to stay here for 3 months?!
Casey: But don't Mom and Dad have to work?
Kitty: I talked to Yana and she said she didn't mind teleporting me here when needed. So, after the weekend, Peter and I are going to come home and visit you on the weekends.
Ben: Isn't that a problem at all, Uncle Logan?
Logan: I didn't feel like taking care of other people's kids but I think being someone's godfather means that.
Jimmy: But Mom, what does she think of that.
Jean, who was close to them and watching their training, heard his son's question.
Jean: I think it's a great idea. They have good manners and behave. They are a good influence on you.
Ben continued his push-ups and then smiled.
Ben: Are we going to stay in Japan for three months to train in martial arts? Incredible! And I thought it would take years for that to happen.
Kitty: Be grateful that you don't have to face any ninja or something…- She said, remembering the times when she was younger and ended up being brainwashed by Ogun.
Logan: Relax, kiddo. They are in good hands and Jeannie and I will always be on the lookout.
Kitty: Thanks, Logan.
After the push-ups, their training began.
For days, they trained at a fast pace, but due to the fact that all four of them already had martial arts experience, they were able to understand and absorb Logan's teachings well, both physically and mentally.
Logan was surprised by the results because it wasn't normal for students this young to be as disciplined as Kitty's kids.
Ben was the most dedicated of the four. He learned and practiced what Logan taught until he mastered it.
Logan looked at him and remembered training Kitty.
One day, Ben woke up while it was still night. Probably mid-morning. He heard the sound of punches and kicks in the yard. He awoke from his sleep and in his bedroom, he saw that it was Logan training on the practice deck.
Ben: Hmm, is Uncle Logan training against…robots? Although… they don't look like robots, they look more like super advanced training dummies.- He is curious so he leaves his room and goes downstairs and sees Logan panting training against technological training dummies.
Logan: Kiddo, shouldn't you be sleeping?
Ben: I slept all day so I'm fine now. It's just that I enjoyed my day off. There's nothing better than sleeping until you can't sleep anymore. But what are you doing, uncle?
Logan: Training Krav Maga. Self-defense techniques created by…
Ben: Israel Mossad. The most feared secret service in the world.
Logan: Has your mother taught you that?
Ben: She mentioned it a few times and I, being the martial arts enthusiast that I am, did a little research on it. It's a pretty badass fighting style.
Logan: Hmm, sure. Did you know that…I taught this style to your mother when she was your age?- He said while punching another training dummy.
Ben: Really? Wait, now that you mention it, I wanted to know… what was my mother like when she was my age?
Logan: I lived in Dreamland and rarely paid attention to what I said.- He smiled as he put a cigar in his mouth and continued training. - Very similar to you but at least you listen to me.
Ben: Haha! I thought, I'm like that too. Hey, can you… teach me that?- He says pointing to the training dummies.
Logan: Well, I trained your mother to use a technique like that when she was your age so I think it's only fair to do the same for you. Watch, kid, computer gives me training dummies on every side of me. With the structure of a human being.
Ben: Wait, I was wondering, do you have a computer and tech training dummies here?
Logan: Technology From Krakoa.
Ben: Did you borrow it?
Logan: Well…Nah, I stole it and then your dad programmed it for me.- He chuckled lightly.
Ben: Haha! Incredible!- He laughs even knowing that Logan was serious.
Logan then finds himself between two training dummies.
Ben steps back to make room for Logan to demonstrate for him.
Logan takes the cigar that was already in his mouth and lights another and places both in his hands.
Logan: I'm going to drop both cigars, count carefully how long it will take them to hit the ground. But in the meantime, look at me and understand why this secret service is the most feared in the world.
Logan drops his two cigars and then he elbows one of the training dolls hard and the doll's structure opens, looking like the doll's metal bones have been broken to the point of protruding from inside the body.
Logan turns to the other training dummy and squeezes his neck tightly, looking like he's strangling him. Then he looks at the other puppet and punches him so hard it looks like he crushed the puppet's head, as if his skull had been crushed.
And then, he looks at the last dummy and punches him so hard his fist went through the training dummy's chest.
Logan: How long do you think it took?
Ben: Five seconds?- He says, euphoric and impressed by his Sensei's display of skill.
Logan: Nah, my cigars have barely started to fall out. It took two seconds.
Ben: You…crushed their bodies. If they were human then...
Logan: The results would have been far more horrible and difficult to clean. But remember that even if the blows hadn't killed them, they'd be unable to fight you, kiddo. I'm not teaching you this so you can become a killing machine. I'm teaching this to keep you alive.
Ben: I completely understand. Just…wow.
Logan: Don't even talk to me. And look, I'm not physically strong like you or your father. Now, I think I'm going to sleep. Next: I want you to train until you're tired. Fight as many training dummies as you can. And remember, don't use your powers.
Ben: I know. My powers help me but also prevent me... from accessing my true potential... as a warrior.- Logan looks at Ben who had his gaze fixed on the fallen training dummy and Ben seems to have a very serious and determined look.
Logan: Okay, start training, I'll see your results tomorrow. Computer, give access to Ben Parker-Pryde. Hey…I know it's needless to say this, but I'll know if you cheat.
Ben: I would never cheat. It would be disrespectful to me, my mother and you. Not to mention, that would imply that I'm weak. The only ones who cheat are the weak who don't trust their own strength so they use dishonorable tactics against their opponents. I'm not like that. I will be a man, a superhero and an honorable warrior.
Logan: You got motivation, kid. Ok then.- He says as he walks away and he finds Jean in the hallway and they both look at Ben training.
Jean: What is he doing?
Logan: Practicing even more. This kid has incredible potential. Maybe even bigger than his mother had.
Jean: Well, he looks a lot like her. He's even letting his hair grow out. I have to admit it suits him.
Logan: He says he wants to look like a samurai. He wants to be a modern day samurai. He even memorized the bushido code.
Jean: Wait, are you proud of him?
Logan: Hmm, I just said the boy is good.- He says but Jean makes a playful smile and looks quickly into his mind.
Jean: You're proud of him!- She laughs as Logan continues to deny it.
Logan: Gimme a break, red.- He says as they walk down the hall and Logan smiles slightly.
The next day, Logan went to see the results of Ben's workout and he was surprised by what he saw.
Ben, even without his spider strength, managed to destroy 15 of the training dummies. They were scattered all over the practice deck and some were even off deck because Ben must have thrown them off.
Ben was sweaty and his knuckles were bleeding, probably from the fact that he had worked so hard.
Ben: Computer. Another.
Logan: You did well, kid. He managed to handle the situation well. I'm even surprised, I thought you were going to give up on the third one.- He says this while smiling and Ben responds with a smile.
Ben: Nah, so you insult me, Uncle Logan. Hehe…- He says, laughing.
Logan: Heh…go take a shower and have your breakfast. Today we are going to do a training trip.
Ben: Seriously, where?
Logan then points to a mountain that was far away from where he and Ben were.
Ben: Shall we hike up the mountain?
Logan: No, let's hike up the mountain and climb to the top. And then we're going to train there for the next two days.
Ben: If I had known that…I would have brought camping gear.
A few hours later, they were hiking through the mountain, but something was holding them back….
Jimmy: Why do we have to carry these heavy backpacks full of water?! They are very uncomfortable and I can barely walk with them.
Logan: Answered your own question. This will increase your ability to lift something.
May: Makes sense. When in little quantity, water doesn't even have weight but when in greater quantity…
Casey: So water can be extremely heavy.
Ben: Yeah. At least we won't get thirsty when we get to the top of the mountain.
They reach the top after a 3-5 hour hike.
Jimmy: Man, what an amazing view!
Casey: Yeah, for sure.
May: Selfie!- The four of them get together and smile as they take a selfie at the top of the mountain and in the selfie, the forest serves as a background for them.
Ben: I never thought I'd leave Queens but this…it's unbelievable.
Logan: Okay, enough. We're not on vacation. Take what's in that bag- Casey goes to the bag Logan brought and shows that inside the bag were five wooden swords. Wood Katanas, to be more specific.
Casey: Wooden Katanas?
Ben: Yeah!! Finally!- He screamed with excitement so loud that birds were startled and Logan and the other kids covered their ears.
Logan: Kid, don't yell!
Ben: But it was a scream of excitement and you scream all the time too.
Logan: Do you want me to train you or not?
Ben: Yes please!- He yells while laughing, but Logan makes an angry face as his eyes roll.
Logan: Each one take a sword and stay positioned.- The children take a sword each and Logan takes the last one.
The four positioned themselves and Logan stood in front of them and they all got into a fighting stance.
Logan: All right, you four have already learned Kendo and the techniques that Kitty and I taught you. But now, it's time to move on to real Kenjutsu.
Jimmy: Aren't Kendo and Kenjutsu the same thing?
Ben: No. Kendo is a practice of swords and combat but it serves more as a sport than a self-defense technique, so the strikes are more for accumulating points. In kenjutsu, the blows are all meant to incapacitate and even kill your opponents. In fact, Kendo is a more modern version of Kenjutsu.
Casey: How do you know so much about this?
Ben: I love anime that talks about swordsmen and samurai. So I research it in my spare time.
Jimmy: You don't have a girlfriend, do you? Nerd.- He makes a joke and laughs.
Ben: And neither do you. Not to mention you're older than me, dumbass!
Jimmy: Nah, I don't have a choice.- He says but Ben then raises his eyebrow.- Don't say anything.
Logan: Moving on…I'll teach you kenjutsu. The technique I'm going to teach you is a technique I learned from samurai a long time ago. The Technique's name is Uradachi or Satsujin-Ken.
Ben: The Murderous Sword Technique?! Did you know samurai who used this technique?
Logan: Yeah, I'm surprised you know that.
Ben: I do a lot of research on swordsmen. hehe. But wait, so these are deadly techniques. If I remember correctly, the Uradachi technique dealt with violence as the end goal, right?
Logan: Exactly, but if you manage to hit the right spots and don't apply unreasonable force, then your opponents will be alive but in immense pain for the rest of their lives. Now, let's get started.
A few hours passed and then it was dark.
Jimmy, May, and Casey fell asleep while Ben stayed awake, practicing his punches. And Logan noticed it as he went to get a beer from the cooler he'd brought.
Logan: Kid? Are you still awake?
Ben: Hi, I couldn't sleep so I wanted to practice some more.- Ben continues to practice his punches. First he used his sheathed sword to attack, then he used the tip of the sheath to make a second attack, then he quickly drew his sword to make a quick attack.
Logan: Where did you learn Iaijutsu?- He asked and Ben realized that Logan knew the technique he was practicing. Although that wasn't very surprising to Ben. In fact, for Ben, Logan knew pretty much everything about martial arts.
Iaijutsu is the Japanese martial art of unsheathing the sword. It consists of sets of katas, techniques or movements that allow the practitioner to react appropriately to certain situations. Many moves involve quick sword draws and also strikes using the katana in order to perform quick moves.
Ben: Oh, I've been searching the internet. I did some research in New York libraries and found some places with old practice books from Japan. They were in Kanji but I managed to learn to translate on my own.
Logan: So, what are you trying to put on your "fighter resume"?
Ben: Considering what I know, I practice Mum's Kendo and Martial Arts lessons, Krav Maga, Iaijutsu. And now, Kenjutsu. I'm also thinking about learning Taekwondo.
Logan: Really?
Ben: Why not? I'm fast and strong and taekwondo consists of speed and multi-hit strikes. Not to mention it requires agility and that I have.
Logan: Hmm, true. But I will give you a more exact demonstration of a Iaijutsu move. Try to practice from there.
Logan takes Ben's sword and then positions himself. First he makes an attack with the katana still sheathed at a diagonal angle up, then down, then he draws his sword quickly and makes an up and down slash and then he delivers a series of quick slashes and then, sheathes the katana again.
Logan: What did you think?
Ben: Badass!
Logan: You bet it was. Now, try to repeat the movement.
He hands Ben the sword and Ben positions himself to try and use the move Logan demonstrated.
He does the diagonal up attack, horizontal attack down, draws the katana quickly and then delivers an up and down slash and then he delivers a series of quick slashes before sheathing the katana again.
Logan: Good, but I think you only got about 80% of the movement right. But it even surprises me that you managed to do so well on the first try.
Ben: It's just that I'm very observant. When you showed me those Krav Maga moves, I observed your posture and movement patterns and then copied them as best I could. And now I did the same with the sword technique.
Logan: Are you telling me you've learned so much just by watching?
Ben: I honestly don't think so. I looked and analyzed well what you did, trying not to miss any details, ah, is it a new power of mine? - He says with some excitement.
Logan: I don't think so, kid. You're probably just really good at analyzing other people's movements. Which makes sense since you have your mom's training and seem to focus well when needed.
Ben: So I can copy other people's moves. But isn't that a superpower but a fighting ability of my own?
Logan: Yes, but you can't copy the moves masterfully, at least not yet. But you're thirteen years old and you've been following all this training well. So, you must evolve over time, kiddo.
Ben: Good to know.
Logan: Hey, when we get back, I'll teach you Taekwondo. I don't use it often because it involves a lot of jumping and kicking and it doesn't suit me.
Ben: Why don't kicks involve your "Snikt"? - He said laughing and raising three fingers to imitate Logan's claws.
Logan: Watch what you say kid.- He laughs briefly at Ben's joke and the two laugh together.
Ben: Uncle Logan?
Logan: What?
Ben: When I grow up, just as I want to become like my mom and dad, I also want to become like you.- He says this with a smile but this leaves Logan a little alarmed and his expression changes to a serious one.
Logan:… No.
Ben: What?
Logan: Kid, listen. I've lived a lot. I hurt a lot of people. Many of them deserved it. Others didn't deserve it. I've already made several mistakes. I lived in a world of death. You are wrong about me.
Ben: No, I'm not. You're a hero, you've saved many mutants, and if it weren't for you, my mother would still be brainwashed by that Ogun guy.
Logan: Yeah, but that doesn't erase the things I've done. You cannot become like me. But I certainly believe that you can become so much more. Better than I ever was. I know that. Because…you're Kitty and Webs' son. promise me that. Promise me you'll become a better man than me.
Ben is fully aware of what Logan was talking about. And Ben, would honor Logan's request. Logan wasn't just a master to Ben.
Ben admired Logan, he had as much respect for him as he had for Peter and Kitty. Ben never admitted it but deep down...
Logan was like a second father to him.
Ben then knelt down like samurai did and put his sword in front of himself.
Ben: I promise, my Sensei and my godfather. I will become a better man and make you proud of me.
Logan: Good to know. You have to go to sleep, tomorrow we will train more.
Ben: Okay, good night Uncle Logan.
Over the next two weeks, Logan taught the kids even more. The training got more complicated but none of them complained because they wanted to get results.
Now, Ben was even stronger than he had been before training. Ben was only limited to Kitty's martial arts and Kendo techniques, which were incredibly strong and very deadly if used with the right force.
But now Ben was at an insane level, he knew Kenjutsu, Iaijutsu, Krav Maga and Logan also started teaching him Taekwondo. Ben managed to absorb Logan's teachings well and became increasingly stronger and that only at thirteen.
Now they were both training.
Logan: Come kiddo!- He says and Ben runs towards him.
Ben kicks him in the face but Logan dodges. Ben starts running towards Logan to punch him and Logan blocks Ben's attack but then Ben throws a kick with his right leg and then another with his left leg.
Logan manages to block most of Ben's kicks but then Ben jumps in to knee Logan in the chin.
Logan: That was good. Keep going…try to hit me until you pass out.- He said smiling.
Ben: Yes Sensei!- Ben runs towards him, then jumps and kicks his shoulder and falls to the ground and while on the ground, Ben kicks him in the face again.
Logan: You managed to learn Taekwondo well.
Ben: Thanks, I had a good Sensei.
Logan: Compliments won't help you win.
Ben: You're right, but the moves you taught me are useless.- Ben runs up to Logan and then tries to hit him with a punch but Logan holds his fist and then Ben grabs Logan's arm to get momentum and kicks him. it in the face.
Logan: Not bad.
Ben: It still offends me that you're not struggling with everything.
Logan: Go for me, kiddo. You don't want me to face you with everything. You would be finished.
Ben: Yeah, you have like 100 or 200 years of experience. Trying to beat you in my state would be idiotic
Logan: Are you calling me old?
Ben: I'm just pointing out the facts. It was you who said that a warrior must read the opponent and know the right time to fight. But I recognize that I won't be able to defeat you in my current form. But…maybe in five years?
Logan: You're being arrogant.
Ben: You're right. Ten years.
Logan: Nah! Twenty, maybe twenty five.
Ben: Damn, I'm going to have to fight a bunch of strong people. But it's worth. One day I will be stronger than you and my parents and then I will be the greatest hero on the planet. I wish there was a fight club or something. It's just that it's hard to practice without strong opponents.- They both stopped the fight and then started walking around the house.
Logan: I would advise you to go to the Dojo I opened in Krakoa but they don't allow humans there.
Ben: I've heard of it but can you consider it a dojo? Isn't it just a mud hole?
Logan: It doesn't need walls to be a dojo. Just having people willing to fight. But from what I've heard, mutants don't really care about discipline. They just play dirty all the time.
Ben: Maybe I can go there and teach them the right way.
Logan: If you're thinking about going over there and getting into a fight with them, forget it. You're going to die and you're too young for that.
Ben: I know. I wasn't going to get beat up with all of them. I would try to defeat one of them my way and then I would earn their respect and start teaching them.
Logan: You don't even have a chest hair yet but you already want to become a Sensei?
Ben: Hmm, not now. But it would be nice, you know, to be Sensei and have students to teach and prepare for life's challenges.
They arrive in the living room and sit on the couch. And they see a box full of old things.
Jean: I found one of the boxes in the basement. I thought maybe there was something in there that Ben would like.- He says as he uses telekinesis to take and organize things from the box.
Ben: Wow, how old. If I find a nunchaku, I can stay.
Logan: Of course.
Jean: Logan!
Logan: You said he's behaved well since he got here, so let me get the kiddo something nice.
Jean: Okay but only because I trust Ben with a deadly weapon more than Jimmy.
Ben: Why?
Jean: Once, he dug his own claws into his arm.
Ben:….Why?
Logan: We don't know either.
Jimmy: Did you call me?
Jean: Well, have fun boys, I'm going out for drinks with the girls.
Ben: Okay, tell my mom I said hi.- He says as Jean leaves the room.- Wait, how is she going to find them? We're in Japan.
Jimmy: Aunt Magik is coming to get her.
Ben: Oh, I get it. Hey, what picture is this?
Jimmy: It's from when you guys had that school for mutants, isn't it?
Logan: Yeah. Good times.
Jimmy: Why did you guys leave there?
Ben: Yeah, I wanted to know too. I searched the internet about that place but they say it's abandoned in the middle of nowhere.
Logan: That's a story for another day.
Jimmy looks at the photo.
Jimmy: Man, you all haven't changed much. Except some got older. Wow…
Ben: What's up?
Jimmy: Emma Frost looks the same as she did twenty years ago. Is she also immortal by any chance?
Ben: Yeah, that's weird. Wait, how old is she anyway?
Logan: Nobody knows. It is one of the mysteries of the world.
Jimmy: No, one of the mysteries in the world is whether her boobs are real or fake. I bet they are silicone.
Logan: Jimmy.
Jimmy: I'm not a telepath but I bet you've thought of that too, Dad.
Ben: Can you stop? This conversation is making me uncomfortable. And you are being disgusting.
Jimmy: Oh okay, like you've never thought something like that about any girl.
Ben: I didn't think so, but I have respect for women, silly.- He laughs and so does Jimmy.
Jimmy: Whatever, geek.
Ben: Hey, who's that?- He points to a woman in the photo.
Logan: Who?
Ben: The Asian woman with the black leotard, the one with the long boots and gloves.
Jimmy: And those legs. My God, what legs.- He is admiring the woman in the photo.
Ben: Really?
Jimmy: I'm in puberty.
Ben: So am I and I'm not like you. Forgets. But seriously, who is this woman in the picture? I know everyone here but I've never seen this woman.
Logan: Ehh, she was a… acquaintance. It's complicated to explain.
Ben: Another one of the crazy things that happen to the X-Men?- Ben asked because he knew that confusion like this was normal for the X-Men. He already met about 5 time travelers and his Aunt was a clone of his godmother so he was quite used to it.
Logan: Like that.
Ben: What were her powers?
Logan: Psionic Weapons. Katanas and Knives most of the time.
Ben: Like Aunt Betsy? Serious?! badass I always wanted to have a power like that.
Jimmy: You already have super strength, super agility and great stamina. Not to mention its "Spider-Sense". Now you want to create psionic swords?
Ben:….Yes. Because it's amazing and I also wouldn't have to worry about killing someone since it would be a psionic sword.
Jimmy: Whatever. Hey, Dad, do you know where this woman is now? Maybe she has a daughter.
Logan: Jimmy. Do not think about it.
Jimmy: Gimme a break.
Ben: Yeah, true. Stop looking at this woman with that perverted face of hers.
Jimmy: As if you don't think the woman in the picture is hot either.
Ben: I'd just say she's pretty. Very beautiful.
Jimmy: That's just a word virgins use to describe a woman.
Ben: Dude, what's your problem?
Jimmy: None. I only like women.
Ben (whispering to Logan):….He needs a girlfriend. Preferably one that knows how to tame him.- Logan laughed weakly and Ben did too while Jimmy didn't understand anything and continued looking at the woman in the picture.
The next day Jimmy and Ben were training in the backyard.
Ben: You know, I should also create my fighting style.
Jimmy: What do you mean?
Ben: Well, everyone has a way of fighting. Captain America has the moves and the shield. Uncle Logan has the claws. Everyone has a style and so does my dad.
Jimmy: Listen, I really like Uncle Pete but I honestly never noticed a style in him.
Ben: I understand. He himself told me that despite knowing the Way of The Spider, he stopped practicing after a while. But maybe, with all the training my mom, dad and Uncle Logan gave me, I can help give Way of the Spider even more strength. Yeah, yeah, that's my fighting style, the Way of Spider. If I can combine my powers and my fighting skills, I can create an incredibly strong and powerful style.
Jimmy: And I thought it wouldn't be possible to create more fighting styles these days. That sounds interesting. But what would your Way of Spider involve?
Ben: Fast, powerful punching and kicking techniques that are based on the goal of finishing the fight as quickly as possible. If I can get more people to teach me, maybe my fighting style can be even stronger and can be passed on to other Totems.
Jimmy: Totems?
Ben: Oh, I forgot to say. Yes, spider people are called Totems. Our powers come from something called the Web of Life and Destiny which is a multidimensional construct that can be used as a template for the entire multiverse. That's where my powers come from, my father's and all the spider men and women that exist.- Ben said that while practicing his kicks.
Jimmy: Are you telling me that your powers come from some sort of map of the Multiverse?
Ben: Basically. I know it's crazy. There is LoomWorld which is Earth-1 which is where Spider-Zero, the current Master Weaver, lives. I wish there was a kind of record of ours there. Maybe I'll create my fighting style and make a record and leave it there to be learned by the next Spider-Totems that will come after me.
Jimmy: You're only thirteen and thinking about doing something for people who won't be born until you die? Dude, you're amazing and stupid at the same time.
Ben: Yeah, I'm like that. Now, I should create powerful techniques for my fighting style. Like, something standardized.
Jimmy: You're not going to do a bunch of super strong punches that must have the name pronounced out loud like in the anime, are you?
Ben: Oh, I definitely will.
Jimmy: Yeah, I expected that.
End of Flashback
——————————————————
Ben was going off memory lane as he remembered his fighting skills.
He never fought at full strength against anyone. He knew how strong he truly was. He knew that almost all of his techniques could be deadly.
Luckily, he was always very aware of that. So he knew he could control himself about it.
By the way, now he remembered something.
Ben: Why have I never continued to advance my techniques? Oh, yeah, because there was no need. Hmm, although…now that I'm a mutant, it might be good to expand my skill set. Well, there's one I've always wanted to try.
He places the sword on his waist and uses the sageo (the string on the katana's sheath) to tie the scabbard around his waist.
He positions himself and places the sword on the left of his waist. He then positions himself and uses his powers to Summon 5 Monsters equal to the Draugrs that New Mysterio used.
They looked pretty angry, but that didn't intimidate Ben.
Ben then placed both feet firmly on the ground and bent over so he could quickly draw his katana. He places his thumb on the handguard to break the seal. And then…
He runs quickly, faster than the eye can see to slash the Draugrs.
He cut off the head of the first. He cut off the second's arm. He cut the chest of the third and fourth. And he cut the last one at the waist at a horizontal angle.
(Author's Note: This move was like Vergil's Rapid Slash in DMC 5)
From there, Ben managed to defeat them quickly and they fall and disappear due to Ben already having finished practicing his technique.
Ben: Functional and fast. It makes me a little tired but nothing an extra workout can't fix. I have to name this technique. Oh, I know. The main things that sustain us spiders are the webs, so the name will be:…"Way of The Spider - First Web: Arachnid Slash!". Yeah, sounds good.
May: Wow! You really haven't stopped training.- May walked into the closet and saw Ben's performance.
Ben: Thanks, so what do you think of the closet?
May: Have you turned your closet space into a Japanese Garden? I should have expected this from you. Of the three of us, you are the most passionate about Japan. Who knew you could create a pocket universe and put it in here.
Ben: Don't even talk to me. Now, I was thinking…it would be nice to name this space inside my closet. Oh, how about:….Infinity Room?
May: Well, this is a room whose limits are your imagination so I think it's a good name.
Ben: Yeah, but I think I'll leave it as a Japanese garden most of the time. It makes me nostalgic.
May: It reminded me of that summer we trained with Uncle Logan. It was a pretty crazy summer.
Ben: I had fun.
May: Of course I do. You learned about 50 different ways to kill someone.
Ben: Techniques are only deadly if I want them to.
May: Yeah, but you're great at using almost every technique Uncle Logan taught you.
Ben: Yeah, but I'm pretty weak compared to martial artists who train all their lives.
May: Don't underestimate yourself so much, you were the one who always asked Uncle Logan for more training. And you had to piss him off a lot to convince him.
Ben: I even learned to open beer to try to convince him to teach me more.
May: The crazy part is that even though we know so much about Uncle Logan, Aunt Jean and Jimmy, we don't even know their addresses.
May was right, she and her siblings didn't know where the Logan-Grey Family lived, but that was because usually they were Teleported there by Magik, so they never saw the need to ask for the exact address. In fact, Logan's family had three houses. Their house which is on a farm far from the city in Canada, their vacation home in Japan and also the House on the Moon of Summers, which they use when visiting Krakoa.
Ben: Yeah, I have to remember to ask Jimmy where they live.
May: Have you kept in touch with him?
Ben: I've been busy and so has he. But we talk at least once a week. Maybe I'll talk to him but I'm pretty busy right now because, you know...new school, new mutant status...
May: New girlfriend.
Ben: Yeah, I agree. Wait…how did you find out?!
May: Your happy reaction last night turned out to be the truth. And I talked to Dawn and I found out that Sora is friends with her so I asked how you two were doing and she told me that you and Sora are dating!- Dawn was one of the people that May talked to the most regularly, so it was to be wondered at. wait for that to happen.
Ben: Really?
May: Your first girlfriend is older than you, she's beautiful and she's still one of the baddest girls I've ever seen. I'm proud, little brother. I never imagined you with a hot Asian girl.
Ben: Neither do I. I guess I should thank Mom for the advice she gave me.
May: Dude, I have to ask Sora how she makes those psionic weapons.- As she said that, Ben remembers seeing a face similar to Sora's.
Ben: I remembered! Sora must be the daughter of that woman in the old X-Men photo. She told me that her mother and Aunt Betsy switched bodies so that must have been it. That woman was Aunt Betsy in Sora's mother's body.
May: And what body, like, did you see her legs? If Sora grows up to be like her mother, you'll be the happiest guy on Earth.
Ben: Can you stop talking about my girlfriend and my girlfriend's mother like that?
May: Sorry, I'm just glad you finally got someone. But you have to admit that…- She was about to say when she got a call and was answering the phone and putting it on speaker.
Ben: Okay, Sora is really hot! I admit. But she's really smart and amazing and I think that's important in a girl too.
Sora: Oh thank you- Sora is the one who was calling May
Ben: Hi…Sora, how did you get my sister's number?
Dawn: I called her.
May: Wait, I'll activate video calling.
Ben: Alright, what's up?- He was saying but the images of Sora and Dawn were frozen.
May: Is the internet failing?
Ben: I don't know...- They don't realize but Sora and Dawn were admiring Ben's shirtless body. He had a muscular body but nothing too exaggerated. He had a great physique and he had six-pack abs
Sora and Dawn then came back to reality.
Dawn: Hey, sorry. Getting distracted by…something on the screen. So, we wanted to tell you something.
Ben: What's up?
Sora: Dawn's cousin Ruby… she's her cousin, isn't she?
Dawn: Let's say so.
Sora: She called Dawn and said that her mother Emma Frost said the Council is getting suspicious about you. They think the Omni-Spider carried out an assassination.
Ben: What?! Oh no. What if…I killed someone…- He said with a certain desperation in his voice.
Sora: Wait, they say you killed a council member. But just that.
May: Which member?
Dawn: Selene Gallio.
May: The Vampire Stripper?! Is there anyone who is capable of killing her?
Ben: I killed her?! But I don't even remember that. I just remember waking up, going to London and meeting you. Wait…did I kill anyone else?
Dawn: No, calm down. Only Selene was killed. No civilians were hurt so you can relax.
Ben: That still doesn't rule out the fact that I might have killed someone.
Sora: Ben, listen, I've heard stories about Selene. She was a monster. A genocidal sociopath. I don't say you killed her, because deep down you know you didn't. She is a mutant. She's alive now anyway. So there's nothing to worry about, you understand? You did not do anything.
Ben: You're right, thanks Sora.- His panic subsides after hearing comfort from his girlfriend, but part of that may come from the fact that maybe...Necro subconsciously calmed Ben down.
Sora: What a girlfriend would I be if I was unable to help you.
Dawn: Well, I don't want to spoil your moment, but for now, Uncle Kurt is going to try to talk to you. So it's just for him what he said to us and you'll be fine. Because it's the truth anyway. So, relax.
Ben: Thanks, girls. See you later.- He says goodbye and the call is ended and then Casey enters the Infinity Room.
Casey: Wow! You did a great job here, sir universal architect.- He makes a joke and then Ben decides to get into the joke mood.
Ben: Oh, thanks. I used my creativity combined with my admiration for this very rich culture. And I also watched a lot of anime when I was little. And I still watch.
Casey: Haha! That was great. By the way, Irene sent me a video.
May: Oh, yeah. I almost forgot.
Casey: Bury the light deep within!
May: You played and sang very well.
Ben: Good to know. Irene didn't post it on the internet, did she?!
Casey: Nah, she knew this could jeopardize our secrecy. But she sent the video to me and I thought it was awesome. I forgot you sang well. Not as good as I am, but you're good. By the way, I liked your look on the show. You looked like a DMC character.
Ben: Really? It cost.
Casey: Actually, I even have a present for you.- He opens a box and shows that there was a new costume for Ben. The Costume was red at the top but the spider logo and details at the bottom were gold and the same goes for the lenses which were now bigger. - It's my gift to you.
Ben: Really? Because?
Casey: Can't I do something nice for my brother?
Ben: Seriously, why?
Casey:….It's just that I was wanting to make a new costume for myself but I didn't want to take any chances so I tested my skills while remaking your uniform.
Ben: Yeah, that makes more sense. But it was cool.
Casey: Thanks, by the way, nice sword.
Ben: I created it using my powers. But this sword suits me not to mention it's good to use with my Iaijutsu skills.
May: By the way, are you going to start using this often? You know, your sword?
Ben: I think so, but only when we go to Krakoa. But I'll keep it sheathed around my waist most of the time. You know, I think I could start wearing that coat of mine often. What I wore last night. It would match my new Spider-X outfit and also my sword.
Casey: Gotta give it a name. Every sword has a badass name.
Ben: Okay, so I'm going to call my katana….eh…
May: No creativity?
Ben: Yes, oddly enough.
Casey: Relax bro, sometime inspiration must come. By the way, I should have told you, Uncle Kurt is coming over to talk to you about what last night. May told me about everything and honestly, stay calm, you can't be blamed for this. They're probably setting you up and I think even Uncle Kurt believes that.
May: He said he's just coming here to check on you. So he should ask you the basics and then he'll try to reassure the Council.
Ben: Good to know, but you know, it makes me wonder… if I didn't kill Selene, then who did? She must have been a very powerful and Overpower guy.
Ben and his siblings thought while not even realizing that the individual they were talking about was Necro.
Ben: Okay, let's go talk to Uncle Kurt.- He said and they left the Infinity Room.
Extra Scene:
Braddock House - England
After Ben hangs up, Sora and Dawn are staring at each other.
Dawn: You're really in love with him, aren't you?- She says with a raised eyebrow and a smile.
Sora: It's none of your business.- She says, trying to ignore her friend's question.
Irene: Hey, what are you doing?…Wow, what abs is that?! So pictures of shirtless men together? I know we're friends but that's an exaggeration.- She said, showing that Dawn ended up taking a picture of Ben's abdomen during the video call and Ben's six-pack was highlighted by the fact that Ben was training and was sweating when they talked
Sora: We're not…wait, did you take a picture of my boyfriend's body?!
Irene: Is that Ben?! Wow, who would have thought? Seriously, the training that Uncle Logan gave him is capable of working miracles.- She admires Ben's body as she eats an apple.
Dawn: I know, and I thought Ben's greatest asset was his cuteness and intelligence.
Irene: Now he has three qualities. Cuteness, intelligence and a six-pack and impressive pecs and look at the size of his arm muscles.
Sora: Enough! Stop looking at my boyfriend's body, you two.
Dawn: But you're looking too.
Sora: I can look, Ben is my boyfriend.
Dawn: Okay, so I'll send you the photo.
Sora: Thanks. Now I'm going to delete the original photo from your phone.
Dawn: Hey, why?
Irene: Aww, I liked Ben's chest…- She said, disappointed.
Sora: I already told you, only I can look at his body. And wow, what a body. It's even hard to believe he's 2 years younger than me.
Dawn: He says he trains a lot and does like 100 or 200 push-ups every time he wakes up. Here's the result.
Irene: Yeah, he must train and work out a lot…and his body must be drenched in sweat…- She says this, while trying to make a joke to Sora.
Sora: Yeah…I have to go…- She says, hurrying and running and taking her cell phone.
Dawn: Where are you going?!
Sora: Nowhere important.- She said as she walked away from them and entered her room, which was the guest room.
Irene: I think she's going to, "have a good time" with the picture of her boyfriend's chest. I don't think so, I would do the same. But seriously, was that Ben?
Dawn: I know, I didn't believe it either. But, that doesn't matter now. I'm hungry. Want to have breakfast?
Irene: Sure, Sora, let's eat, are you coming with us?- She asked Sora through the door of her room.
Sora: No! I'll see you later.
Irene: Yeah, she's going to be in there for a long time…
Wow, that was a long chapter. Sorry for the delay, as I said before, I'm very lazy and I'm a big procrastinator.
But damn, I can't believe I'm almost reaching 100 reviews so fast and this is still my first story. It's an incredible feeling.
I'm sorry if you guys didn't get what you expected from the chapter, you probably wanted a direct sequel to the events of the last chapter but I really really wanted to write a chapter that showed how skilled martial artist Ben is and I also wanted to show what the relationship is like. him with Logan, with him considering Logan as a second father figure.
Then, I also wanted to show that unlike many powerful mutants out there, Ben knows how to fight and very well by the way.
Maybe I'll even get him to develop the improved Spider-Sense from Assassin Spider-Man. You know, the Spider-Sense that makes you able to predict the future. Which by the way, is a very overpowered and very dangerous power considering this version of Spider-Man must have had as good a training as the one Ben had with Logan.
I hope you enjoyed.
By the way, for those who couldn't understand for sure some of the scenarios or movements described in this chapter, this chapter will be available on my Wattpad account so go there to better understand the moves and moves that the characters use.
