Chapter 15

Bella

"Mary Alice Brandon! What are you doing sneaking around here at night?", I asked her.

"I ... I ... was thirsty and I was downstairs in the kitchen."

All clear.

"Aha! With jacket and shoes?"

I put my hands on my hips.

"You never know what's going to happen?", she returned and jutted her chin up.

"Where have you been?"

I was curious, after all, why she was sneaking around the house in the middle of the night.

"Don't you want to go back to bed? Edward is already waiting," she said, looking at my Honey Bunny, who was standing right behind me and chuckling softly.

"You can say it after all. You're already an adult."

Sometimes, anyway. I had to respond to her, because otherwise she was stubborn.

"By Jasper," it finally came softly.

"Isn't your date not until Wednesday?"

I was a little confused.

"Well, as early as Tuesday, to be exact. But I won't be back until Wednesday," she answered me carefully.

"We can talk more tomorrow, or rather later. If you want?"

I wanted to go back to our bed.

"Yeah, I should probably get to bed then too. Have a good night's sleep."

And already she hurried to her room.

She is acting strangely. Why all the secrecy? It's not usually her style.

Edward brought me out of my thoughts.

"Come to bed," he said, and pushed me there.

Snuggled together, I fell asleep.

Esmé was awake before everyone else, as usual, and breakfast was already on the table. She had shooed Carlisle off to get rolls.

Like every morning.

As she does every morning, she asked about her soon-to-be grandchildren and if any progress has been made with the wedding.

We gave the standard answers.

Emmett was excited because he wanted to keep working on the crib and had already scheduled Carlisle and Edward.

My Honey Bunny enjoyed the kissing freedom to the fullest and so did I. He had recovered quickly from his despair and the fantasies of yesterday. As always. Everything in the best order. Only he was, or more to the point it seemed to me, as if he was nervous or excited and looked at his watch every few minutes. Then he was happy, for whatever reason. Maybe because the time was passing.

I grabbed Alice to ask her about tonight.

And no ... I'm not curious, just concerned.

"If your date isn't until tomorrow, why were you with him?"

Rose always had a sharp mind and was always there to help and advise me.

"It worked out that way," she said with a deadpan expression.

"You can do whatever you want, but then why all this secrecy?"

I guess I am curious after all.

"We were just ... walking and talking."

Her expression was still unmoved.

She was hiding something from us. But what?

"That's why you don't have to sneak out of the house at night. You could have let me know."

She wouldn't say anything. Crap.

"I'll be ... upstairs and … sorting out my new stuff."

She jumped up and dashed up the stairs.

Very peculiar.

I speculated with Rose what could be wrong with her that she was doing everything so secretly.

Normally, she would already be bugging us today. 'Can I wear this? Or would you prefer this? How should I do my hair?' But none of that happened. Mysterious!

We stood at the window and watched the men.

Emmett shooed them from one corner to the other.

"Come on, let's get something to drink and sit on the patio," Rose said.

I agreed with her.

That was a very entertaining morning.

After lunch Rose wanted to lie down for a while and my Honey Bunny to his piano.

"Can I listen to you?"

"You don't have to ask, you know that."

Nestled in his arms - the most beautiful place on earth - he kissed me.

"See you in a bit."

And he went down to the basement to his piano room. I got myself another blanket, because I could sink into his music - and so that I was nice and warm when I sank, I needed a blanket.

He was already playing warm when I made myself comfortable on the sofa.

I was quiet so as not to disturb him.

He looked so stunning sitting absorbed at his piano with his eyes closed and a slight smile on his lips.

I also closed my eyes and just listened.

Sometimes, if I was lucky, he also sang. He had such a beautiful voice, velvety and rough at the same time. Then little shivers always ran down my spine. My Honey Bunny.

He played old familiar songs and also new ones that I didn't know and then the notes of one of my favorite songs rang out. (Richard Marx - Right here waiting)

I sighed and snuggled deeper into the blanket. He often sang to this song, and he did me this favor. He knew how I loved this song and I smiled when he started to sing.

Oceans apart day after day

And I slowly go insane

I hear your voice on the line

But it doesn't stop the pain

Ahh … beautiful.

If I see you next to never

How can we say forever

Wherever you go

Whatever you do

I will be right here waiting for you

Whatever it takes

Or how my heart breaks

I will be right here waiting for you

"Hey buddy, you can sing, can't you?"

The music immediately stopped, and I looked at the door, startled.

"Emmett, you know how to ruin the mood, too," Edward said angrily.

"I was just wondering if I could take your car. Have to go to the hardware store again."

He looked at him apologetically.

"Do that and get out."

My Honey Bunny looked at him and Emmett quickly closed the door.

What a jerk, did he have to interrupt?

Again he looked at his watch.

"What are you waiting for?", I asked him.

"Huh ...?"

He looked at me questioningly.

"Running, you've been looking at your watch all day."

"Oh, do I? Didn't catch that at all."

He was already with me and distracted me with his lips. As always, I melted in his arms. We snuggled under the covers and enjoyed the silence.

Which was a rarity at the moment.

And already the door opened.

"Oh ... sorry you two. I baked a cake. Do you guys want some?"

Esmé beamed at us.

"Yes Mom, we'll be right there," he said, running his nose along my cheek.

"My children," she sighed and closed the door.

"If we'll ever have our peace again?", he mumbled at my neck.

"On Sunday, everyone goes home again. Then there will be peace again and we can continue our research without disturbances."

We both laughed.

Being undisturbed was a foreign word at the moment.

"Mmm ...", he hummed against my lips.

If only it were finally Sunday. But the gala was still to be due on Saturday and that had to be put behind us first. On the one hand I was excited, on the other hand I didn't want to go. I was looking forward to introducing the main actors from the film to the others, some of whom I had named after them.

"Come on, let's go upstairs or your mom will send Carlisle."

I got up under Edward's protests and pulled him off the sofa by his hand. He looked at his watch again. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and he smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

Esmé had made delicious 'Swedish apple pie'. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

"Have you proposed to Bella yet and asked her parents for permission?"

Esmé looked at her son.

"No," he said carefully, looking at me.

I smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

"No proposal. Shame on you, Edward," Emmett put in his two cents.

Rose gasped.

"You don't have to have a big mouth here. At McDonalds with burgers and fries wasn't exactly the romantic version."

I had forgotten all about that. She was horrified at first, then she had laughed.

"But not mundane," he grumbled. "And I asked."

He looked at my Honey Bunny with a smile.

"We have time and Alice, when do you leave tomorrow?"

Attack is the best defense.

She smiled and said, "Jasper is picking me up at ten tomorrow morning."

"Isn't that a little early for dinner."

Esmé looked at her.

"We'll be out all day. Jasper didn't tell me what he was going to do."

She was still smiling. Actually, she looked like she would love to jump around the table dancing.

Strange.

"I'll tell you all about it on Wednesday."

And she smiled even wider.

Very strange.

I was grating up carrots to bring to Jake when two hands settled on my hips.

Edward.

He kissed my nape and nibbled my ear.

I was trembling. I put the carrot down and just closed my eyes, enjoying his touch. He spun me around and pressed himself against me, lifting me onto the kitchen counter.

"Bella," he murmured, kissing my lips.

My reason prevailed.

"Your parents ..."

"Are strolling."

"Rose and Emmett ..."

"In her room."

"Alice ..."

"Phone calls to Jasper."

I could feel his grin.

He stood between my legs, and I put my arms in his nape.

Kissing Edward is one of my favorite things to do.

His kiss became more urgent. His hands clasped my buttocks, and he pulled me close to him. My legs automatically wrapped around his hips.

When finally tomorrow is. My days are as good as gone, just a few more hours and then ... sigh.

"We're going upstairs."

He lifted me up by my bottom and carried me, still kissing, towards the stairs.

"Where are you going? Work continues on the crib. No excuses."

Emmett. For the second time today. He really had a talent for it.

I groaned and so did my Honey Bunny.

"Yes Emmett, give me a minute. - Or even half an hour," he whispered in my ear.

I chuckled.

"What's there to chuckle about? You can make out later, too."

My Honey Bunny looked at him crossly.

Emmett grinned.

I wanted to break away from Edward, but he held me tight. I looked at him questioningly and he looked down a little ... between us. I had forgotten that.

I chuckled.

"See you in a bit, Emmett."

And already he went further up the stairs. At the top, he put me down again.

"If we go on now, Emmett will bother us again. This won't take ten minutes."

I sighed.

He was right.

"I know," I pouted to myself.

"Tomorrow, my dear ... and if we have to rent a hotel room."

He kissed me again and again and ...

"EDWARD!"

My Honey Bunny groaned in frustration.

Me too. Madhouse ... through and through.

"Carlisle rented a limousine, with a driver, so we can all go to the gala together," Esmé said.

"Cool, a limousine."

Emmett clapped his hands.

"Will there be any familiar people there, Bella?" asked Rose.

"Well. Robert Pattinson ..."

"OH MY GOD! He's coming too."

Alice and Rose bounced on their butts.

"Everyone who's in the movie will be there. Kellan Lutz ..."

More shrieking.

"Peter Facinelli ..."

Esmé sighed loudly.

Carlisle looked at her questioningly.

"Broads. Always the same with them."

Emmett looked at my Honey Bunny and shook his head.

"And what about us? No women with you?"

"Yes, Kristen Stewart ..."

Now Edward sighed.

I looked at him with narrowed eyes.

He cleared his throat.

"Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed ..."

Emmett whistled loudly.

"Yeah, Nikki has such great ..."

And already Emmett had gotten a rib jab from Rose.

"Fingernails," Emmett grinned, and Rosalie rolled her eyes.

"Jackson Rathbone will be there, too."

Alice bouncing intensified.

"That's great. I love his music. I wonder if I can get his autograph?"

Her bouncing became a vibration.

I shook my head.

"And then Taylor Lautner ..."

"Who is that? I don't know him!", Alice asked.

"He is still very young and unknown. Wait, there must be a photo on the Internet."

I got our laptop and looked for a picture of him.

Here we have one. Oh ... he looks so good. Still a little young, but in ten years ...

Now it was my turn to sigh.

Edward looked at me.

"He's too young, Honey Bunny. Don't worry."

His look was still skeptical.

A little kiss should fix that.

He smiled again.

Well ... there you go.

"He's really young. But he's incredibly good-looking," Rose said - and Esmé, Alice and I nodded.

We stared at the photo.

Yes, he looked really good.

Edward flipped the laptop closed.

"Enough looking."

I grinned at him.

Another kiss.

A discussion broke out as to who looked better.

Men vs. women.

Edward

Throughout the day, I looked at my watch. The countdown was running out.

It's about time. It felt more like five years than five days. But they were as good as over now.

I looked at my watch again.

Three minutes less.

Now we were sitting here discussing the actors. I gave my two cents here and there, but I was in thought.

With Bella ... where else. What we can do then everything ... My imagination played me the most amazing images.

Quickly looked at the clock.

Crap, only two minutes have passed. We could yes start with a shower, then the bed and my piano, the sofa would also not be bad either ...

"Edward?"

... Mmm ... in the kitchen, outside in the garden ...

"Edward?"

... Oh ... I completely forgot about the car ...

"EDWARD?"

Who is shouting in my ear? ... on the stairs ...

"Baby? Are you okay? You can't hear us at all!"

My mom, what is she doing here?

She patted my cheek, and I was back to reality.

Great.

I cleared my throat.

"I'm fine. I was just thinking."

I forgot about the bathtub. Nice in the warm water ...

"Honey Bunny, stop dreaming."

My sweetheart looked at me and grinned.

Me too.

I looked at my watch.

At five. I could already bring the car up to speed, so that it was ready for use when it was needed. No crumb should disturb.

"I'm going to go wash the car," I said and got up, but not without giving Bella another kiss.

Armed with the handheld vacuum cleaner, I went on a crumb hunt.

There were not many, but they all had to go, not that they were in the way at the crucial moment. Every last crevice was vacuumed out properly. Then, finally, I wiped down all washable surfaces with disinfectant wipes. Pore-deep clean.

The interior was clean and now it was time to tackle the exterior.

Pulling the hose forward, I stood there thinking.

Sweatpants should do, not that I still make my clothes dirty here. Thought, done.

I jetted upstairs and quickly changed my clothes.

Now I was standing in front of the car with sponge and hose in hand.

Here we go.

A little cleaning agent generously distributed on the sponge, water march. Was a little much detergent, it foamed only so. A lot also helps a lot.

My pants did not stay dry for long, luckily I had changed clothes.

When I imagine standing here in soaked jeans and T-shirt and everything sticks to my body. It's enough if it's the pants I'm wearing now.

I wiped the foam off my body, it was everywhere too.

My abs have been in better shape before, too, I noted. Exercise more.

I heard a loud sigh and looked up. An elderly woman was walking her dog. I said hello and she waved back. She stopped. Maybe her back was hurting.

Further cleaned.

Now everything was nice and clean, and I only had to polish everything. But some places were hard to get to. I stretched and stretched to bring everything to flash. Hardest work. Now I was not wet from the water, but the sweat ran down my chest and back.

Done!

I walked around the car again.

Not that one spot didn't shine. Here and there I had to bend or stretch to reach the desired spot. I stretched my battered back and stretched the muscles. Arms still up, cross pressed through ... That did good.

The older woman was joined by two even older ones who looked at me.

I nodded in a friendly manner.

Gathering all belongings, I turned and headed for the front door.

There sat my darling and smiled at me.

And the way she looked at me. My mouth became dry.

"Honey, you're ..."

She jumped up and into my arms.

I dropped everything I had in my hands. The kiss she gave me knocked my socks off and I had to be careful not to collapse on the spot.

"Honey, are you okay?" She clung to me like before, when I wanted to carry her upstairs and Emmett had interrupted us for the thousandth time.

"Bedroom! Now!", she said breathlessly, and I moaned.

My penis was rapidly increasing in size.

I opened the door and slammed it shut again with my foot.

"Ah ... Edward, there you are. I've got you ..." Emmett.

"Later," I said without looking at him and marched past him.

"Oh baby, you're done. Do you want to ..." Mom.

"No time."

And climbed the first steps.

"Bella, can you shortly ..." Alice.

"No, Alice, later," said my darling.

I reached the bedroom door.

Door open.

Door closed.

No key. Crap. No door in the house had a key ... except the front door. That needs to be changed. But not now. Now was Bella-time. Bed-time is too risky, but shower-time.

Quickly walking ... with Bella in my arms ... I entered the bathroom.

"What's gotten into you?", I asked, while I was busy with her neck.

"Edward washing the car," she breathlessly breathed.

Oh! Well, I'll just clean my car every day. No problem.
