Chapter 25
Edward - still naked - Cullen
We disappeared into the bushes and when we thought we were safe, we stopped.
"Edward. What are we going to do?"
I pulled her to me and kissed her.
"Bella, my darling. We need to think about what to do now."
First and foremost was to cover our nakedness in case they found us.
I - and Bella certainly - did not want to face them naked. In an emergency, Bella could cover her most intimate part, which only I was allowed to see, with her hands, and I would hide her breasts and stand behind her. My butt was of no further concern.
So a plan was needed.
"We should find something so we can cover ourselves."
I looked down her body and smiled wistfully.
Hiding this wonderful body is a sin!
"This is all stupid! I want everything to stay the way it is!"
She grinned and looked down my body.
MY BEST FRIEND made an effort to stir. He was used to doing whatever he wanted lately.
Bella's grin widened.
"Um ... honey? The others aren't far and if they see us ..." I hissed as she touched him. "Bella, stop it. PLEASE!"
She sighed in disappointment, but complied.
I don't even want to imagine if Emmett found us ... like that. Although it had its appeal.
We made our way to a small spring, which was well hidden. At least we would not die of thirst and to eat grew here on every corner. Even if it is only fruit. A few days we would hold out so already.
Arriving at the spring, we had a drink and sat down.
"We're going to sneak up on them tonight and see if they're still there."
That was our plan. For now.
So we made ourselves as comfortable as we could.
A few hours later, the sun slowly set and colored the sky beautifully.
We were trapped in paradise, so to speak.
Bella made a skirt out of leaves for her and a loincloth for me. Now we were Tarzan and Jane. We had smeared ourselves from head to toe with mud. Camouflage was what they called it. We didn't want to shine like two buoys in the dark.
Like two shadows we flitted through the darkness of the jungle.
Rambo would be proud of us.
Near OUR hut we became more cautious and that was a good thing.
Emmett and Alice were sitting in front of it and the others were out of sight.
"They must be here somewhere, and they are hiding from us. Why is that?", Alice asked Emmett.
"Why, I don't know."
He looked around searchingly and we pressed deeper into the shadows.
"EDWARD! BELLA!" Emmett bawled out and we winced.
"They won't answer, but why? Not that something else has happened to them! Esmé we would have to take then to the insane asylum."
My mom didn't seem to take it too well that we had just disappeared. Actually, I should have guessed that, but she had to learn that I was a grown man. Still, I felt sorry for her. My mom was always a little overprotective where I was concerned. But she had to go through that now.
Rose and Jasper came out of OUR cabin and asked if there was anything new.
Of course, there was nothing new, we were careful!
"They picked a nice spot," Jasper said into the silence.
Murmurs of approval followed.
My mom and dad came up to OUR cabin. They seemed to have been further back on the beach.
"Anything new?", Dad asked.
NO! We are vigilant and do not show ourselves, Dad!
"My poor baby! Where are they?"
Mom clung to Dad.
"I don't know, Esmé. But I'm sure they're fine," Dad said, and Mom nodded.
"Still, I'm so worried. There must be wild animals here?"
No, Mom, there isn't. The biggest animals here on the island are the parrots. About this we have informed in advance. One doesn't want to have surprises!
Everyone tried to keep them happy. It worked only partially.
"Jasper? Can we sleep on the beach?" Alice.
"Sure."
"That's a great idea! Emmett, let's do that too!" Rosalie.
"Mmm ..." Emmett.
He looked right in our direction and we both stiffened.
Could he see us? No, surely not, or he would have said something.
Bella clung to me and looked at me.
I breathed a kiss on her lips and gently pulled her further into the darkness.
Safe is safe!
"What's going on Emmett?", Jasper asked.
"I don't know exactly. I kind of feel like we're being watched."
Jasper followed his gaze.
We were frozen into statues. I even stopped breathing and squeezed my eyes shut, not that they could still see the whiteness in them.
"My baby should be here? That can't be! He would come to me right away, I know Edward!", Mom said with conviction.
I grinned and looked down at Bella, who was still clinging to me like a little monkey.
Too bad there were no vines here, then we could swing through the treetops! I love my mom, but what she has been up to lately was not going at all.
"What time is it anyway?" Alice looked at Jasper.
"A little after 9:30."
"I'm hungry." Emmett.
"We did bring something. I'll get it."
Mom left and Dad followed her.
"I know they're around here and they might even hear us," Emmett said, lost in thought. "But I can think better when my stomach is full."
They all chuckled.
I carefully pulled Bella back further and we moved away enough to talk again.
"If Emmett saw us or heard us," whispered my darling.
"I don't think so, or he would have raised the alarm," I said just as quietly.
"They're not going to leave, Edward!"
I know.
I hugged her to me and kissed her to reassure her.
We made our way in the darkness to the other side of the island.
The mud stretched quite a bit on our skin. It had dried and was already crumbling off and that itched.
When we finally arrived, we went to the water.
We lay down in the shallow water and soaked ourselves. We scrubbed the crust off each other's bodies, and I had to restrain myself not to dive into my paradise.
My slightly tanned darling saw it similarly, but it did not work. We had to pull ourselves together - again - and I absolutely did not like that.
I lifted Bella in my arms and carried her out of the water.
We had to take cover. Emmett would surely look for us and if we were inattentive, he would find us too and I didn't want them or him to find us.
We walked a little further, because there was a beautiful little niche of rocks not far from the beach. The ground was the wonderful white soft sand that was everywhere here and above it all kinds of plants grew to form a protective roof.
The perfect hiding place for us.
I put my treasure down in front of it and pressed her against me.
"Come on, let's get some sleep. Tomorrow is bound to be tiring."
She snuggled into my arms and nodded.
We crawled inside and lay down.
It wasn't quite as comfortable, but we were safe.
I pulled her to my chest. She laid her head on it and sighed. She had to be at least somewhat comfortable. She wiggled back and forth a bit to get the sand under her into shape. I did the same.
I woke up and it was still dark.
My bladder was squeezing, and I crept out on quiet soles.
Once to not wake Bella and secondly, in case the intruders were sneaking around here somewhere. Just do not attract attention.
I moved away a few meters and did what needed to be done and listened into the darkness.
"Keep it down," I heard.
It was whispered and I tried to figure out which direction the voice was coming from.
Emmett's voice.
I squatted down, because my mud layer was gone, and I would shine in the moonlight like a white marble statue, and I wanted to prevent that at all costs.
Thought, done, and I listened on.
"We'll never find them in the dark."
Ah ... the good Jasper was with him.
"You never know. Maybe we'll stumble across them by accident."
I thanked my bladder for waking me up and thus becoming aware of them. Bella said that I talk in my sleep and that could have led them to us. Not to think. I had to lure the invaders away from our hiding place, lead them on a false trail. But how?
I watched them walk along the beach, scanning the area for us in the fairly bright moonlight.
Crawling on all fours, I reluctantly moved away from my treasure.
We did not want to be found and I would see to it - I was the MAN! I could only say of luck that we walked around here naked, because otherwise my butt would shine brighter than the moon.
When I was about fifty yards from where we were sleeping, I picked a branch and flung it into the jungle.
I had seen that once in some movie and it had worked there.
The two came in my direction and I hid in a bush. They were talking - still quietly - about whether it had been us or perhaps an animal.
I stayed squatting for a while longer, watching them move farther and farther away until I could no longer see them.
Ducked, I scurried back and crawled back to Bella, my sweetheart.
I lay down behind her and she murmured my name in her sleep. She got a kiss on her shoulder, and I snuggled up to her.
Who knows what the next day will bring. Wait and see.
A tickling woke me up and I opened my eyes.
Bella's fingers wandered over my belly toward bliss.
My eyes closed again.
"I know you're awake," my sweetheart breathed.
I hummed in response.
Her fingers continued to wander, and I had to stifle a groan.
"Bella? Emmett and Jasper were here during the night looking for us," I said quietly.
"Aha ...!"
And her again naked, mud-free body pressed against mine.
"What if they come back?"
Now my voice was low and hoarse.
We had to put an end to that.
"Just one more privacy," she breathed and sat up.
She had persuaded me.
"But we have to be quiet," I groaned.
"Yes," was the answer and she sat on me.
My hands held her hips and I lifted her up a bit and then I was in my paradise. I was at home.
Since we could not extend the thing undisturbed as we wanted, haste was the order of the day. Just lying under her was nice, but I had to feel her against me. I sat down and wrapped my arms around her, and her fingernails dug into my back.
I had to feel her ... more and so I slowly put her backwards and pushed hard into her. Her moans became louder and so I kissed her. My body was on fire. Bella's body was on fire and a film of sweat covered our bodies. Her legs were tightly clasped around me and held me tightly.
"Edward."
My movements became faster, and Bella twitched under me. I could not wait any longer and with a growl I poured myself into her. My darling followed me.
We were coordinated like clockwork - perfect.
I dropped onto her, and she pressed a kiss to the side of my neck.
Our breathing returned to normal, and Bella began to chuckle softly.
"EDWARD! BELLA!", a voice sounded right next to our hiding place ...
