Lilyan...

Looking back at it, she didn't believe it at first when the brunette man sat next to her for the first time.

She kept glancing at him secretly, wondering if she was mistaken. But she wasn't, he was the same boy from years ago, brown hair, dark green eyes and a bright and sweet smile.

She didn't expect to have the same lextures with him, but she was glad not to say the less.

He would often be late for some reason, and she would reserve him the seat next to her whenever that happens. She didn't build up the courage to properly talk to him until two weeks passed...

Lilyan: " thanks for saving my life."

She said with a bow, which startled the brunette man.

Ban: " I... Saved you?... When..."

He scratched the back of his head as she merely looked at him with her ever cold and calm face.

Lilyan: " it was long ago. You may have forgotten but I won't forget the one who saved me."

Ban: " well... If you say so."

He managed a small smile at her.

Ban: " to think about it, we didn't get to talk properly and know each other's full names. Although it seems you know mine. Anyway, I'm Yamano Ban, pleased to meet you."

Lilyan: " I'm Himari Lilyan, the pleasure is all mine."

Ban: " If you don't mind then, we can get to speak more in the university's Cafe."

Lilyan: " sure."...

Lilyan: " I see, so you joined the LBX research facility that belongs to our University."

She said as she took a sip of her coffee and Ban merely nodded, a wide and excited smile on his face.

Lilyan: " you sure love LBX, don't you."

Ban: " of course! What about you Lilyan?"

Lilyan looked to the side, her eyes flashed with a sad look for a second.

Lilyan: " I used to love them when I was a child, and I still love them till today, but... A lot of things happened in my life and I left LBX battles for so long."

Ban gave her a soft look as she was absorbed into her own memories.

Lilyan: " when I was merely 10 years old, I had a car accident with my parents..."

She narrowed her eyes as the memories came back to live...

It was a rainy night. The car was upside down with its front smashed, the glasses crashed and littered everywhere around them.

The blonde girl was always held to her seat at the back with her belt. In her position upside down, she felt her head about to burst.

Small beads of blood ran through her blond golden hair before falling to the ground as her head was slammed against the door when the car overturned, forming a puddle underneath her.

She was feeling some cold drops of rain falling on her skin as she fought to saty conscious. She tried to call out to the two in front of her.

Lilyan: " Mom... Dad..."

But little she didn't know that they weren't able to hear her or to answer her, that their souls had been already taken.

Suddenly a flash of red blinded her and the loud sound of the sirens cut sharply through her head. She felt the pain rising more as they got closer before that she finally was unconscious.

The next thing she recall was finding herself in a hospital bed, bandages wrapped around her and her eldest brother sitting next to her, holding her hand tightly.

William: " you okay?"

She tried to speak but only her lips moved and her sound didn't come out. After a few tries, she managed to speak with a hoarse voice.

Lilyan: " where are... Mom... And Dad..."

Her brother looked down and her heart sank at that. She quickly sat up and looked at him, all freaked up.

Lilyan: " what happened to them! They're alright! Right!?"

William hugged her tightly as he told her the truth.

William: " they passed away on the spot. You're the only one who made it alive."

Lilyan: " you're kidding..."

Tears climbed up to her eyes at that and she shook her head in denial.

Lilyan: " that can't be..."

She hugged her brother tightly and cried as it slowly sank in. Her parents were no more there...

She was depressed and didn't come out of her room since she came back home. She didn't eat or go to school either. All she did was sitting on her bed, hugging her knees and crying silently.

Her eldest brother would sometimes stay by her side and comfort her, giving her a shoulder to cry on. Her other brother couldn't care about her the less.

From her room, she would sometimes hear her oldest brother talking to someone through the phone, telling them that there was no way for them to be separated, and that they will stay all together.

She learned later on that their relatives wanted to separate them to take care of them, but her eldest brother couldn't let that happen. He took the full responsibility to look after them.

One night, she walked into her eldest brother's room and found him asleep on his table, his books and papers sprawled around him. It was the first time that she took notice of the weight on his shoulders, and the burden she was causing him.

Slowly, she started coming out of the black hole she was falling deep into and started to see the light again as she knew she had her eldest brother to back her.

But it wasn't for so long. It was shortly time to be separated from her him too when he had to go to university to study Artificial Intelligence.

She felt alone again, with only her other brother around, who didn't care about her, waisting the money her parents left them and even being rude to her.

The only good time she got back then, was when her eldest brother would call her. She never told him about what their sibling did to her, not wanting to get Liam into problems or cause William to worry. Plus, she was to break free of her brother as soon as she would turn eighteen and leave to live on her own.

But then came the second shock to her. Two years later, her brother stopped contacting her. Not long after that, people who claimed to be from her brother's university, came and asked them if they had been on contact with their brother lately, to which she answered with no. Then it came.

" Your brother has been missing for over three months, we didn't find any clue to where he is. But don't worry, we're still looking for him and we will inform you as soon as we get any information."

Then she fell deep again. Her only light in her dark life had disappeared.

All grown up now, she decided she can't afford to sit down and cry. She applied to his same university, in hope to find any clue to where he was. She finally moved to her own apartment.

And although she was still had the money her parents left her, she decided to find a part time job. First, because she knew her parents' money won't last forever if she merely depended on them.

The second reason was because her brother Liam waisted his share of the money and would come to her to force her to give him some of the money she had.

That was her life for so long, and although she used to love LBX battles and paly them frequently as a kid, the life pressure left her no time to enjoy a real battle. So she quit for good.

She snapped when she realized she had been talking for so long.

Lilyan: " sorry, I think I bothered you with my life story."

Ban merely shook his head at that, his air was soft and comprehending.

Ban: " I'm sorry for what you had been through. It should have been a hard time on you."

Lilyan: " don't worry, I learned to cope with things."

Ban: " still..."

She looked up at him and her blue eyes met with his dark green ones.

Ban: "... The fact that you suffered is true. You were enduring it for so long now and you needed to let out."

His gaze leveled that of the woman in front of him.

Ban: " you're not making excuses like that, you're only letting out a burden in your chest."

Her eyes widened when she heard that. For the whole time, since she lost her parents, she had always tried to find someone who would listen to her, but all of them would say the same thing. " Don't make an excuses of it, everyone lost something but they don't complain."

Well, she wasn't complaining, she only had to let go of the weight in her chest.

Back at that time, only William was willing to hear till the end. But to think someone else was willing to hear her story...

Tears climbed up to her eyes and they slowly fell on her cheeks as she looked at him, for some reason, he reminded her of her brother. Ban was confused at the sight of her crying.

Ban: " are you alright?... Did I say something rude?... I'm sorry..."

Lilyan shook her head and finally put on a small smile.

Lilyan: " it's not like that... Thank you... For listening to me... Thank you..."

She said with a sweet smile...

Days later...

Ding dong...

She snapped her eyes open when the bell of her apartment rang. Checking the time next to her, it was still 5:30 Am.

She yawned as she got up and walked to the door, wondering who could ring her door that early in the morning. She doubted he was Liam because he doesn't wake up early usually.

Opening the door by a crack to peek outside, she snapped when she saw no one was there. She opened the door widely and looked around but saw no one in vicinity. Her eyes fell down and she saw a box in front of her door.

She kneeled down and checked it, there was nothing that indicates from whom it was. She finally decided to take it in and open it.

As soon as she peeked inside, she saw a small white and blue LBX, a blue CCM and a folded paper. She took it and unfolded it. ' Take care of this SD Unicorn.'

She rubbed her head, the phrase was printed so there was no way to know who was the writer. She picked up the LBX and looked at it. It was smaller than any usual LBX, and plus, it was a type she didn't see before. She sighed.

Lilyan: " I will let Ban-kun take a look at it later."...

Later...

Ban blinked twice as he looked at the small LBX in his hand.

Ban: " if anything I'm sure this LBX wasn't designed by dad. SD Unicorn is its name, right?"

Lilyan nodded.

Ban: " well, it's quite interesting."

He said as he kept flipping it in his hands.

Ban: " the right arm is equiped with a giant claw to power up the physical attack. The Lance and axe fusion looks very strong. And the detached wings can work as back up Jets as well. On top of that..."

He looked at the bottom of the LBX's feet.

Ban: " this system, it's the same Elie used for her LBX. It can help the LBX hover above the ground instead of walking, which will give it speed and more flexibility. It's quite awesome."

Lilyan couldn't help but to smile as she saw his grin growing wider by the second.

Lilyan: " you really like LBX."

He giggled as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly before returning the LBX to her.

Ban: " it seems strong, take care of it."

Lilyan looked at the LBX for a while before turning to Ban.

Lilyan: " teach me how to use my LBX."

Ban: " eh?"

He was taken aback by the sudden request.

Lilyan: " I don't know why it ended with me but I doubt the sender merely wants me to keep it, so please, teach me how to use it."

Ban had a smile at that.

Ban: " alright then."...
