5th May

Alps training camp.

"COME ON YOU FUCKING SCUM, SHAKE YOUR ASS" was heard on the mountain. The 203rd was undergoing retraining on the orders of Tanya von Degurechaff.

With a new member.

The Crown Prince.

Flying in the sky Tanya von Degurechaff looked with disgust at the Crown Prince as he tried to keep up with the 203rd. They had already undergone this training once in their lives allowing them to be forewarned of the hard task.

"Yes, ma'am," shouted back the prince. He had never undergone such severe military training. Sure, he had partial training. He knew his military etiquette, he knew how to shoot, he even knew that in his current rank he had to keep his mouth shut in front of a superior officer. However, he had never received any training. More importantly, no one had ever treated him like dirt.

"DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME UNTIL YOU COMPLETE TRAINING YOU BASTARD!" Tanya shouted back. Some would say she had taken too many liberties with the Kaiser's orders to train his son. However, even though no one knew about it, Tanya forced the Kaiser to sign a legal immunity contract to do this training and thus made it impossible to punish her by legal methods.

The crown prince kept his mouth shut and tried to keep up with the pace of 203, soon arriving at the houses that were designated for them to live out of for the duration of the training.

Of course, the look on the Crown Prince's face when he saw his comrades creating trenches and getting inside was worthy of being photographed and framed for posterity.

"The Empire has over 100 million rounds of ammunition in reserve!" shouted Tanya from above.

"So I hope you can survive a week of artillery fire."

Inwardly the crown prince, Karl, who had insulted his father in so many ways that if his father ever found out about it he would remove him from the line of succession, was trying his best to figure out how to survive.

"And you're lucky it's not winter," Tanya thought to herself.

Alps training camp.

Tanya von Degurechaff walked through the horse stable. This time she had decided not to improvised the torture training. Instead she obtained some veteran torture officers from Berun to take care of "unwanted visitors".

Tanya von Degurechaff stopped for a moment to watch the crown prince being tortured in a non-lethal manner and sighed.

It was clearly going to be a problem in the long run, but the moment he was out of here he would be a man. At least Tanya hoped so. The Kaiser had given her an order personally and thus absolutely had to carry it out.

1st of August

Pov Tanya von Degurechaff

Alps training camp.

I read the training reports. All were excellent, including Karl. That was good. Soon I would be able to take him back to the Kaiser as the man he had requested me to make him into. It was exhausting having to be around the spoiled child, so the sooner I got rid of him the better.

"Central Command to Tanya von Degurechaff" I heard from the radio. I raised both eyebrows and looked at the radio. Was it related to the aliens flying over our sky? The visible and proven activity of aliens in our skies was something that was not even attempted to be hidden from the population. We lived in a constant paranoia of what the aliens' intentions were.

"This is Tanya von Degurechaff. What's going on?"

Static filled the communicator, but it didn't take long to respond.

"Unidentified craft landing in Alsace Lorraine. We will establish diplomatic relations in exactly 24 hours. The Kaiser will be present and your presence and that of the 203rd is needed to protect him."

I sighed calmly. The fact that they had come down to negotiate was a relief to my mind, which was filled with man-eating, world-destroying alien invasion movies.

"We leave in two hours."

"Understood."

Turning away from the radio and looking outside of one the few windows they've got in this joint I look and see up and see the clear blue sky.

"I really hope that they're pacifists."

As if fate foretold it, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

The door opened and Visha appeared. She approached me with some papers in her hands. Probably a battalion report.

"Hello and good morning," She said with a devilish smile. That was the only way I could describe it because behind all that sweetness was one of the most aggressive lesbians I had ever seen or heard in my two lives. Who knew that sweet Visha was like this...

"Good morning to you too. By the way, you have come at a good time. Get 203 ready to fly to Alsace Lorraine in 2 hours."

She nodded, placing the documents on the table. At which point she turned and left to report to 203.

I sighed and started reading the report. Outstanding performance, Karl has adapted well. The new introductions of 203 have adapted well. Unit average score of 9.5 out of 10 on all physical and mental tests passed".

I nodded proudly. A bad officer would tell them to try a little harder next time to achieve a 10/10. That was stupid though. Only 5 tenths of nothing for the 10. That was an unbelievable performance, especially considering that a normal magician would get a 3/10 and a 6/10 if they were a veteran.

I put the document in a file cabinet and sighed. Aliens. I never thought it would come to this.

I set about finishing and compiling documents. I had to be absolutely sure that I finished all the bureaucracy before I left. If experience had taught me anything it was that if I didn't do all the paperwork it would just pile up and become hell to finish.

A small knock on the door caught my attention. I looked up and saw the figure of Visha leaning against the half-open door. The moment she saw that I was aware of her existence she entered the room and closed the door. Turning the key, she locked the room.

"We leave in an hour and a half, Visha. There is no time."

However Visha did not relent one bit, approaching my chair and grabbing my hands, making me get up from the chair.

"Visha, I don't think this is a good idea."

Visha sat on my chair and then sat me on top of her. With her left hand she forced me to look back and started kissing me while her right hand unbuckled my belt. I didn't resist and enjoyed the sensation of Visha devouring my mouth like a psycho.

I hated it when she got like that. She didn't talk, she didn't give in, she just imposed herself on me.

I managed to pull away from her mouth for a second, breathing heavily from the assault I received.

"We have a mission in …" a moan then came out of my mouth as Visha slipped her finger into my opening. I clenched my thighs over her hand as I tried not to moan, but I couldn't as she quickly slipped two fingers in and assaulted the inside of my vagina.

The electrifying and constant sensation made me start to spasm involuntarily, my body submitting to Visha, the ever increasing sensation of pleasure was killing me as the pace of penetration increased.

"Stop... Stop!" I screamed miserably as the building sensation increased until I climaxed. Collapsing and abandoning all resistance. My weak and tired body was moving rapidly from my accelerated breathing.

"How beautiful you are. You see how there was time?"

Without giving me time to answer, Visha turned me around and put my face in front of hers and was quickly devouring my mouth. Sticking her tongue in and grabbing both arms around my waist in order to keep me from moving.

This relationship was going to ruin me...

24 hours later

Alsace Lorraine

I looked at the weird green alien with weird eyes in front of me, he was surrounded by what looked like robots with weird weapons, their skin coloured and almost skeletal in their composition. There was also a strange robot compared to the others. It was more like a human being.

"-" The alien said something strange in a strange unknown language. Quickly the alien robot looked at us and translated.

"Hello natives. I am proud to announce the acquisition of this planet by the Trade Federation" Said the robot in a robotic voice. The Kaiser's face was one of pure indifference. It was as if he had been told there would be chicken for dinner. He didn't care.

"I am the Kaiser of the Empire. If it is in your intentions to turn us into a protectorate I regret to tell you that we do not accept violations of national sovereignty."

He turned and started to leave, I moved to his side and the 203rd followed. However as we retreated we heard the voice of the disgusting being again. Followed by a robotic translation.

"If you don't accept it the easy way. It will be the hard way."

The Kaiser turned around, and looked the being square in the eye. Seconds of tension hung in the air.

"I must warn you, we will fight for every inch of land. Our population will resist you as well. So think about it before you say that it will be the hard way. Think about whether it is worth starting a war in your ignorance."

War with the aliens. That's all I needed. We had relatively recovered from a world war and bankruptcy and now aliens are invading us.

Even if I didn't know the economic situation of the nation, I wasn't sure if "negotiating" with aliens was such a good idea.

Becoming a space colony wasn't exactly an option either. I sighed as we moved towards our transport and listened to the shouts of the green thing behind us.

"Are they idiots?" Zettour said as he looked at the map. It had been two days since the break in diplomatic relations with the Trade Federation and an invading army had been registered. But as of now they only landed in Francois. There was no trace of their army anywhere else in the world.

"Better not underestimate them," I said as I looked at the defensive plans. The Dunkirk-Nice line was the line of improvised trenches we made in these two days. The Imperial army was already beginning to mobilize and the factories were at full strength.

"Yes, maybe. The air mages under your command will provide air superiority along with the air force and the artillery will flatten their army. So no matter how robotic the enemy is, artillery fire will destroy them in one way or another. I have every confidence that trench warfare will serve to defend our nation," said Rudesdorf.

It was back to the war of attrition, again. Then again, what else could have been done about an alien invasion. This must have been how the local Africans felt when a European power invaded, but… it could not be denied they had all failed to defend their state...

I sighed and looked at the map again.

"If they can fly they could just land in Berun. Why land at Francois?"

All the men present in the room shook their heads. Not knowing the reason for this bad military decision.

I sighed and shook my head, seeing for a second my new rank. General of the magical forces. To control all the mages of the Empire. A great honor no doubt but it was a pity that it would only mean that if we lost the war I would be killed for belonging to the military high command.

The radio in the bunker we were in started to reproduce a communication.

Quickly the soldier assigned to communications operated the machine, listening to the message.

"They have started the attack in Alsace-Lorraine. The artillery has opened fire."

Everyone present took out a cigarette, a pipe or a cigar and began to smoke. Frenetically. Nobody said anything. They just smoked and I breathed the smoke. Even though I wanted to leave there was no doing so because of my rank.

Minutes passed. Then hours. All of us looked at each other nervously just waiting for the moment when the communications operator would tell us that the line had been broken and that we had to send the whole reserve to avoid a breach that would cause a collapse of the front.

"The offensive..." the communications operator said. Everyone listened attentively, including me.

"It has been repulsed."

We all slumped back in our respective chairs, exhausted as hell. About 100 kilograms on each shoulder forcing us to sit down. I saw Zettour, the now Dictator of the Empire, laugh, laughing hysterically nonetheless. It was as if he thought the nation had been lost but for some reason we survived.

Rudersdorf was the first to rise of all those present and imposed his hulking body on top of the table containing the strategic map.

"I want a battle report in 10 minutes. Somebody get some food. We're not getting out of here until we see the enemy tactics and develop proper counter-strategies."

I nodded and pointed to a soldier who was our assistant. "Soldier, get some coffee too"

He nodded and left. I quickly looked at the map again. They attacked the Alsace Lorraine area so they must have passed through the forest that covered much of it. The artillery must have wiped out much of that forest by now.

"Report from the front," said the comms guy calmly. "The enemy robots were destroyed by artillery. They advanced across the field without a care in the world and caused their own destruction. The enemy tanks were mostly stuck in the trees and were subsequently destroyed by artillery. The enemy air force has two types. High-flying and low-flying. The high-flyers gave us trouble as they could not be shot down by our anti-aircraft, but the low-flyers were quickly destroyed by the mages".

Yes, this was the ideal situation.

The artillery could destroy their forces. It was a great relief to be privy to such information. However, more information would not be gathered until the first mage arrived and handed over the magic recordings.

"Field Marshal Lehrgen is in command of the western army. I trust him, he can't attack but there are few marshals who are as good at defending as he is," said Zettour as he smoked a cigar.

It's a skill we had to discover unwittingly on the eastern front, I thought. It really was a desperate time.

Out of the blue an inner thought struck me. If stopping the enemy forces cost more ammunition than we produced, we would soon be in trouble.

"Ask the officer how many artillery ammunition has been used"

The soldier in charge of communications questioned the officer at the front. After five minutes we had an answer.

"It remains a lower expenditure per hour than what was spent on the Rhine. For a total of 50 rounds of ammunition."

I did the mental calculations. It was a small use of artillery shells by comparison. However, the Imperial war industry was going through a bad time. I did not know if we could sustain a prolonged war without declaring a state of war.

"I do not intend to declare a state of war," said Zettour, reading my mind. He stubbed out his cigar and looked at me specifically. The authority of a Dictator suited him well for his national projects. However, it also meant that you could rarely deal with his stubbornness without getting into some kind of trouble.

"I understand that the population is tired and that our economy will collapse. However, if we don't, we may soon run out of military hardware. Even if our expenditure is reduced, so is our production."

Rudesdorf shook his head. "There is no point in that. We have millions of munitions in reserve. How could they be spent?"

Of course. Coming from a world I had explored many times before, what an alien invasion would be like gave me a different perspective. Contrary to those men who had never thought about it.

"If they have a galactic empire. We can never beat them in resources. For all we know they could send millions upon millions of robots against our positions without limit. At some point we will run out of strategic ammunition reserves and when our artillery goes silent from lack of ammunition. The front will collapse."

Zettour narrowed his eyes. Surely he didn't want to admit that he hadn't thought of that. The euphoria of a first victory had blinded him.

"Let's try to keep the civil status untouched for the time being," Zettour said. I nodded and tried to communicate with the communications officer again when a soldier interrupted by putting coffee on all the tables, along with a sandwich.

"Thank you" I said, took a quick gulp of coffee and approached the communications officer.

"I need you to ask about Battalion 203."

He nodded his head, requesting communication with the mage outpost. It was quickly answered although I couldn't hear him.

"All members confirmed living. Including the heir to the throne. 30 flying objects confirmed to have been downed."

I nodded, thanked him and left to eat. The hours had taken their toll and I had to recover something if I wanted to stay alive for the next few hours.

"Hello there."

I pulled out my gun and turned around instantly, seeing two hooded figures behind me.

Those with guns quickly drew them and those without hid.

One of the two figures pulled down his hood, revealing his face. A small beard, long hair and a face of absolute tranquility very much gave off an aura that was similar to the one the Kaiser had around him.

"I am Qui-Gon Jinn. And I have been sent here to help. Am I interrupting something?"
