The walk back through the ruins was much easier when they knew what they were doing.

Especially being healed up, that definitely improved things. The burns mended; the aches faded. All of making the journey far more welcoming, even if the preceding moments were a bit tense.

They passed over the first space of crumbling floor without any issue. Knowing well what to do, to overcome it. A little vault from Flowey, using his vines to effectively toss them across the gap.

"That is super cool." Chara admitted.

"Yeah, I'm pretty awesome." Flowey 'admitted' with humility.

The duo heading forth, coming to the room with the first rock. Chara motioning as he moved off her arm this time, following the thought they'd had previously. Regarding how to simply bypass the final breaking of the stick.

He headed over, and used his vines to hold the sone in place, as she hurried across. Once she'd done so, he burrowed his way over to her. Her arm extending, as he was lifted back up, and coiled around it.

When the duo arrived in the room with the Moldsmal, it sparked a moment of hesitance from the Flower. Their eyes wandering over to it upon entry. With no Froggit to interrupt them, it was still very much asleep.

"Everything is...safer without the Froggit." Chara muttered, not specifically to him.

"Not disagreeing." Flowey muttered back. "But again...he left us little option...right?"

The girl briefly pondered the Moldsmals attack. It was pretty strong, and a part of her was compelled to see if she could sieze it, eif only for a moment. To try it, and see how it felt, what it might look like.

However, that odd sort of hunger was resisted, after all, that monster wasn't a threat to them. And, was only cranky at being woken up before. It would be wrong to pick a fight...especially with that sort of intention.

Feeling a bit off about the impulse, she moved on. Following the pattern from before, getting the duo out of the room with no issues. Looking a little proud of herself in the process.

"Good job, by the way." Flowey said, as they reached the door.

"Hmm, thanks." She beamed. "I was really worried I wouldn't remember it for a moment there."

The flower merely offered a more assured smile, before they entered the room with three rocks. Immediately his smile dipped, and she watched Floweys expression turn annoyed by default. The girl stiffled a laugh at this, bearing no intention of letting things play out again.

"Flowey, you look like you've been rocked, by something?" Chara joked, though he didn't respond. "No need to stonewall me. I'm crumbling for an answer. C'mon just a pebble?"

He rolled his eyes. "Ughhhhh, the worst sense of humor."

"Na, I'm rockin it." She retorted, his following groan loud and annoyed. "Hey, maybe this time, try and be coal about it, yeah?"

"Staaaaaaahhhhhhhhhppppp!" Flowey loudly demanded, in a long whine.

Chara laughed hard as he swung his head around in protest. Looking frustrated beyond reason, at her barrage of puns. The flower eventually letting out a breath of defeat, her laugh falling into a soft snicker. The rocks before them, unresponsive for...a moment.

And then...

The stubborn said. "Not to quarry, I appreciate your humor."

The duo blinked, Flowey whispering. "No..."

Chara replied. "Ya know, I read about rocks in the neatest pebble-cation."

replied. "Was it...power to the Pebble?"

"Maybe. Hard to remember...but it's a hard rock life, for us." Chara snickered.

"These puns remind me of when I visited a volcano. They really magma day." responded.

Flowey let out a whining noise. "S-stop, no more puns, please."

"Whoa, buddy, sounds like you've had a rough day." began. "Wanna chalk about it?"

Chara grinned, rocking back and forth heel to toe. "C'mon Flowey. You can tell us. We won't take it for granite."

Flowey huffed. "I hate you both."

The duo laughed a bit. The Rock shifting and shuffling some as it did so. Chara covering her mouth, trying, and failing to stiffle her laughter.

sighed contently, seeming more colorful somehow. "That was fun. Honestly, I haven't had a good laugh in years."

Chara responded. "It was an honor to pun with you."

"Of course. Hmm, oh, were you kids trying to pass through the trap there?" asked.

"Yeah, actually. Uhm, we were gonna see if you could-" She began.

"Say no more. You both have a gneiss day. And stay safe." replied, sliding over onto the slot.

She beamed. "Thank you . You have a gneiss day too!"

This shared exchange of positivety left Flowey glowering. The other two rocks, both thankfully non-sentient moved much easier. The spikes descending, clearing the way for them to head ahead. Chara pausing near the little bridge to give a wave goodbye, before they proceeded on.

"Who'd'a though, he just needed a good laugh to calm down?" Chara hummed thoughtfully.

"That was torturous." Flowey remarked.

"Oh it wasn't so bad. At least you guys didn't argue this time." She replied.

The Flower grumbled out a. "Yeah...guess so."

The duo entered the final room before the tense part of their journey resumed. She glanced around, there was still no purple glowing save-point. She didn't like that.

How infrequent were these things meant to be? She noticed that Flowey was looking over at the empty space beside them. Likely to his own, which she couldn't see.

The two noting their respective inability to see the others. Well, their combined inability to see hers, and her inability to see his anyways. The duo taking a well-earned break for a moment, in the room with the table. As she tried to prepare herself.

Chara noted that although the day had felt extremely long thus far, with its many twists and turns and violent ends, it really wasn't. She'd only really been up and about for a couple hours at the absolute most.

She wondered if heroes delving into terrifying dungeons had to deal with this kind of thing when they were slaying angels, and demons? Then again, she recalled entire movies being set over the course of like, a few hours, that seemed much much longer. Add to that, she'd sort of died twice, and that was definitely a setback she didn't wish to repeat.

She closed her eyes. And focused on what she was trying not to think about. Which was...what she was going to do now.

Opening them, she materialized a butterfly, looking it over. Flowey taking note of this, wearing an expression like he wanted to ask something. His curiousity beckoing him to seek an answer.

"So, I'm guessing the reason we're stopped here, is because whatever or whoever is in the next room-" Flowey began, getting a look from her. "killed us, right?"

Chara remained silent a moment longer. "Yeah."

"Well, we're less damaged than before. Fully healed, in fact." He noted, adding. "With 5 candies. And, I guess...a little bit more power, so..."

She smiled some. "I think we'll be okay."

"So, what are we fighting exactly?" He inquired.

"A bully." She replied. "A ghost."

Flowey began to feel her usual heartrate slow. Her more neutral smile growing. Becoming that stable, uncanny, and discomforting one. The pace of it all, her demeanor feeling a bit off. The heartbeat back down to every four seconds.

Flowey said. "Chara...I know you're probably mad at this person. And, that's fair. But, even if the world is kill or be killed-"

"We should try to show some mercy." She said, finishing his thought. "I know. I'll try."

"Do you promise?" He asked her.

The girl nodded. "Mhm."

He felt like she was lying to him about this. However, she hadn't gone after any of the other monsters since. Which was reassuring.

But with the information on the 'what' his thoughts turning to her new magic. The only way to hurt a ghost, was with magic. Despite her suggestion she had no idea, she'd obtain it. He couldn't help but think that was coincidental.

The flower debating what to do, or even, what he could do.
