"Everyone sees what you seem to be, few experience what you really are."

The Purpose, Rewritten, Chapter 15 The blood pact

Seth was still sitting in the sofa in front of the fireplace when Corban came into the common room after his night out and noticed him.

"Didn't you sleep? Or…uh, do you sleep normally?" Corban asked.

Seth flipped a page in his book.

"Yes, I do sleep, Corban. Much less than normal. Normally… three hours, tops.'' Seth said.

Corban sat down next to him, his body turned towards him, and he glanced at the book.

"How much blood do you need to drink, exactly? Often? Is one person enough for you?'' asked Corban eagerly to know more.

"I don't need blood so much, but rather extract my venom and yes, one person is enough, or even an animal." Seth said before putting down his book. He expected to receive all possible questions from him, and he answered in advance. "Yes, my father and my mother are vampires. No, I was not adopted. I was born in 1915, no, I don't know why it's like that. Yes, I am stronger and faster than a normal human. No, I don't intend to hurt anyone.''

Corban said nothing, perhaps seeming to have had the answers he had been doubting.

"Are you coming for lunch, then?" Corban asked.

"It is past noon. They're all in the great hall, though, go eat if you're hungry." Seth said.

"Oh." Corban said before getting up and walking out of the common room.

In the afternoon, Seth had gone out for some fresh air while several students were already returning from their holidays. Tom had returned too, and Seth noticed that his ring was no longer on his finger. Seth knew very well that he would never have parted with his ring, since he loved artifacts and if this ring had belonged to the Gaunt family: he was the heir to it. So, he concluded that he had made a Horcrux out of it.

This time, a flash of Miria's eyes came back to him, and he shook his head. He waited until they were alone in the Room of Requirement before he asked him about his ring.

"Did you do it again? You separated your soul again?'' asked Seth.

Tom held his hands behind his back.

"Hn. I see. You can't discern my Horcruxes when they're on me.'' Tom replied. Seth frowned. "I already had two Horcruxes...before I spoke to Slughorn."

Seth's mouth dropped open.

''What? But where were you then?' asked Seth.

"Gone to sort out my business, among other things." Tom said as he walked over to the fireplace. "By the way... I have something to ask you."

Seth crossed his arms.

''I'm listening.''

Tom's gaze got lost in the flames.

"Can I live with you this summer?" Tom asked.

Seth blinked and remembered that Tom had just turned seventeen, yesterday in fact, and could therefore leave the orphanage.

"I...I guess so." Seth replied. ''There is no shortage of space.''

He didn't believe his father would refuse, since he was now residing in Egypt anyway. Tom turned around and placed his hands on a chair.

"Good." Tom said.

The door to the Room of Requirement opened to let Abraxas enter.

"Hm, you're still here. That idiot Joanna took points away from Mulciber and Rosier is now scrubbing the floors of the trophy room. I couldn't get there before her, so…if you'd like to go start your rounds, Seth, that would be appreciated." Malfoy said.

Seth rolled his eyes before turning on his heels.

"They wouldn't have lost points if they were in the common room." Seth said before walking out, the door closing behind him.

Abraxas had followed Seth with his gaze before looking back at Tom, who was staring at him without saying a word. Abraxas swallowed hard and tilted his head slightly.

"Sorry..." started Abraxas, but Tom had his wand already pointed at him.

"Crucio." Tom hissed.

Abraxas was shot through with electrifying pain and he fell to his knees. Unable to contain himself, he let out a scream. Tom stopped the spell and twisted his wand between his fingers. Abraxas muttered a curse.

"I dare believe you won't disappoint me again, Abraxas." Tom said sweetly.

Abraxas tried to take deep breaths and struggled to get on his feet.

"N-no, my lord." Abraxas mumbled.

Seth had gone back to hunting hares and sometimes deer, not wanting a situation like the one he had with Corban to happen again with another student. Corban didn't bother him, although he seemed to want more help with his homework than before.

"That rune there..." Corban said, pointing to Seth's notebook. "Why is this line there, but you look at this word there… hand, I think, and I don't see any difference…"

"The difference lies in the use of the rune. If you mean hand, not palm, then that line would be higher." Seth explained, pointing to another nearly similar rune.

''Oh.''

They were sitting in a room near the library with some fifth-year Ravenclaws.

"Hm, that's good to know." Laura, a Ravenclaw girl, replied, leaning over Seth's book, and clearly trying to show her cleavage. "Are several runes like this?" she added, her pencil in her mouth.

Seth pressed a finger to Laura's forehead and pushed her back into her seat.

"A little decency, Laura. I thought purebloods had a bit of dignity." Seth said and the others around laughed.

Laura was a Crouch, one of the pureblood families with lords among wizards. Just like the Malfoys, the latter were always looking to marry each other, and the Blacks were the most prevalent, especially in the male line.

"Hmph! Is there a way to change your mind, Vulken? Since everyone knows you're the descendant of Slytherin, you won't be able to refuse all of us." Laura replied crossing her arms.

Indeed, he had already received offers from several families to marry him since last year, being offered all kinds of gifts, prestige, promises, and alliances. He had p;aced all the letters in a safe in his suitcase and he hadn't thought about them again. He knew the importance of influencing families. He had the Malfoys in his pocket, as well as the Blacks, the Travers, the Yaxleys, and the Fawleys through Septimus. He wanted to work at the ministry in the department of international cooperation, he would need even more influence, but he did not see how marriage could help, if it was only for one more family alliance.

"Laura, I don't live in a mansion. I live on an island, in a castle, with lots of vampires.'' Seth said, closing his book on ancient runes. "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into."

''Bah! And your heirs then? You don't care?'' Laura asked.

Seth snorted.

"Heirs. Honestly, that's the least of my worries." Said Seth, who wasn't sure if he was even capable of having children, since his body was...peculiar.

He had not been in contact with other children before Hogwarts, since his father had forbidden, then ordered, him not to play with them after he had tried to make friends among the child servants on his island. It was for his… protection, he told him, but it had caused him a lot of loneliness. He had compensated by focusing on the happiness of his family and his nation and taking whatever means necessary to make it happen.

"Well, well, well." Said Avery who was passing by and had heard. "You could be with me, Laura. Your brother has already taken a liking to my sister." He added, winking at her.

Laura eyed him up and grimaced.

"In your dreams Avery. Already having you as a brother-in-law is a nightmare.'' Laura said taking her books and leaving the room.

Monica arrived with her two friends, Summer, and Megan, and they sat next to Seth. Avery rolled his eyes and took a seat at a nearby table, then opened his books.

"I'm telling you..." muttered Corban. "If I hear them giggle once, I'll cast the sticky-tongue spell on them."

Seth gave a quiet smile and waved at the girls.

"Seth! Another outing is planned for Hogsmeade for Valentine's Day. I was wondering… well… if you wanted to go with me." Monica asked.

Seth raised his eyebrows, not thinking that Monica didn't want to give up on what she had tried with him. He had thought it was only to harm Weasley's ego. Monica's father was Lord Emmanuel Greengrass and worked in the Ministry in the Magical Creatures Control Regulation Department, which gave him an idea.

"He's not interested…" Corban began, but Seth put a hand on his arm, and he fell silent.

"Yeah, why not." Seth replied.

He will obtain the favor of the Greengrass via Monica. It was not in his habits, but life was just a game where you had to place your pawns in the right place, and it is never too late to learn how to play.

Corban pouted, but Seth ignored him, and the other two girls chuckled. Monica smiled at him and stood up. Seth's gaze lingered on her neck for a moment.

boom boom

"So… see you soon, Seth." Monica said before walking off with her friends.

'Seth.'

He closed his eyes, seeing Miria's gaze again, and sinking his teeth into her neck.

"SETH!"

Seth shook his head.

"Oh, fine! No need to yell." Seth said as he opened his other arithmancy book.

''What? Nobody said anything." Corban said in disbelief.

"Didn't you just…scream my name?" Seth asked.

No, it wasn't. It wasn't Corban's voice, but Miria's, which he had heard. Corban shook his head and looked worried.

''No. Are you sure you're okay? Do you need anything?" Whispered Corban.

Seth sighed.

''No. What page did you tell me about arithmancy?'' Seth asked.

"Oh, uh, 148." Corban replied.

Seth opened the requested page and tried not to think about Miria anymore.

February 14, 1943

"Yaxley thought you wouldn't. What made you change your mind?" Monica asked.

They were walking down a Hogsmeade trail, and the snow was slowly falling in large flakes. Several couples walked in front and behind them.

"Hmm. Exactly, Monica, he doesn't know what I want and... you can be interesting to talk about." Seth said.

"Interesting?"

"When you're not talking about me or Weasley. Tell me, do you have any siblings?" Seth asked.

''No. My dad has a brother, Ajax Greengrass, and he just had his first boy, Casper.'' Monica said. "And you… did your biological parents have other children?"

''No. They can't have any more children.'' Seth said softly.

"Too bad…the Slytherin line depends on you. Oh, can you speak Parseltongue?'' she asked excitedly.

"Why is it so important to know?" Seth asked.

"Oh...don't you know? Parseltongue opens up a whole new branch of magic... like protection spells, shields and healing that wizards don't usually have access to. Salazar used it on the school and it's even why the stairs move, or the school seems alive...sometimes. Even the Hogwarts book doesn't mention it…I think they're ashamed of what Salazar had done for the school. My father was a Slytherin." Monica explained.

Seth stopped walking. Monica was really interesting. It really took a Ravenclaw to tell him something like that. He had felt that magic in the Chamber of Secrets.

"I didn't know…do you know if we can find any books on that?" Seth asked.

"Oh, uh, my family has one, but I think it's my family's most prized possession and I don't think he would give it away easily." Monica said before playing with a lock of her hair. "Why would you want it? You know how to speak it, don't you?'' She added again with a smile.

He dared not imagine what Tom would do to the Greengrass if he knew of this information. Even Seth was extremely curious and wanted to consult this book at all costs. He did not recall receiving any offers of marriage from the Greengrass family.

"Do you think I could meet your father?" Seth asked.

"Hmm. I see that this book intrigues you, but my father is… in fact, he doesn't really like your family. It's not without reason that he works in the Department of Magical Creatures at the Ministry." Monica said shaking her head.

Seth realized that something had happened between the Greengrass and the vampires, probably several years ago. He will have to act other than through Monica. She might be able to bring him the book herself…eventually.

''I understand. It's okay, Monica." Seth replied.

He bent down and picked up some snow and transfigured it into a rose and gave it to her.

''What? You know how to make flowers out of snow?'' Monica said with a smile and took the rose from her hands before smelling it. "Oh, even the smell is there."

It was not a complicated spell. A flower was simple, and its petals were just as simple. He scooped up more snow and brought his hands to his mouth before blowing into it, causing dozens of petals to swirl around her. She laughed and jumped.

"Happy Valentine's Day." Seth said.

She grinned and wrapped her arms around Seth's neck before kissing him. The kiss was brief, but pleasant. Monica took Seth's hand in hers and they continued walking down the path.

"We have to go back to Hogwarts, it's getting late." Monica mentioned.

"Hmm."

They went to the thestral-drawn carriages bringing the last students back to Hogwarts. He escorted Monica to Ravenclaw Tower before placing a final kiss on her hand.

"Seriously, Vulken, you're doing it on purpose to make all the girls fall in love with you." Monica said before solving the riddle to enter the Ravenclaw common room and winking at Seth before the door closed behind her.

What she didn't know was that he only had one thing in mind, and that was to go see Abraxas immediately. He found him with Og and Flitwick, who were lecturing the third-year Hufflepuffs who were still returning from Hogsmeade after curfew. He also saw Tom bringing back Gryffindor fourth graders.

"Every year, it's the same." Flitwick's voice squeaked. "They are unable to hold back their hormones. Ah, thank you, Tom."

Seth tugged on Abraxas' sleeve.

"Hmm?" ' He said before briefly seeing Seth's eyes turn black for a split second. "Oh." Malfoy smiled. ''Let's hurry up young people, now!'' He added, taking out his wand. ''Otherwise, I will cast stinging hexes on you.''

Flitwick hadn't heard, two young people were making a scene later mentioning their rights and such. Abraxas shook his head and sighed as the youngsters began to walk faster.

Seth thought it would never end, but when they were alone, Seth interrupted Malfoy's attempt to kiss him and tugged at his sleeve to lead him away.

"Come on." Seth said before reaching the stairs and heading up to the fifth floor.

They entered the prefects' bathroom and Abraxas raised his eyebrows.

"But how could you book the prefects' bathroom on Valentine's Day? It's an impossible feat, normally.'' Abraxas said.

Seth took out his wand and did several detection spells for curses and hexes and detected several. He destroyed them one after the other easily and began to place his own, protection and confidentiality spells.

"Not quite…I must have used a lot of galleons…and threats, but even then, there were several indiscretion and alarm spells. Now…'' said Seth taking off his cloak which fell on the floor. "We won't be disturbed."

Seth waved his hand towards the faucets, which opened, letting the water flow freely. Abraxas took off his cloak before going to take Seth by the waist and pull him closer and kiss him.

OoOoO

The following days, Monica rarely left Seth's proximity until curfew, never missing the chance to kiss him when she could. Seth played along, keeping his goal in mind, even though he wanted her to leave him alone. Despite the whispers that ran at the school about them, Seth did not deny them.

As they dined in the Great Hall, he spotted Abraxas with Isobel Avery holding his arm. He raised his eyebrows, but he knew from the others that the Malfoy patriarch had made an arrangement with the Averys to unite them soon. He didn't know much about Isobel, but to keep their wizarding purity, that didn't surprise him.

'So how is he in bed?'

'Seth isn't like that.'

'What? Didn't you see what he had in his pants?'

'Summer!'

'What?'

Monica was talking with her friends at the Ravenclaw table, and he could hear everything.

"Seriously, does everyone only think about sex after a certain age?" Seth asked before taking a bite of his sandwich.

''Why not? You're not?'' sneered Orion. "Talking about who is the most beautiful girl in school is a very common topic."

Seth snorted and groaned, because he was right, come to think of it.

'Do you think I should go further?'

'Why not? The worst that can happen is that he says no, that's all.'

Seth stared at Monica and imagined taking her against a wall, like he did with Abraxas. He then wondered what screams she would make or moans she would utter.

The opportunity arrived the same evening. Monica had waited for him outside the entrance to the dungeons.

"Monica, it's curfew. You can't stay here.'' Seth said, knowing full well why she was there.

"Will you come with me, then?" she asked.

''Of course.''

They headed for the main stairs where they met Professor Slughorn who shook his head before continuing on his way.

"I like Professor Slughorn, he's fun. Not like the eccentric Flitwick.'' Monica said.

"Hmm. I prefer Flitwick. He's a master at spells and his goblin ancestors worked with my family.'' Seth said.

''Really? So, is it true that he has goblin blood?'' Monica said.

"Yes, and it is not for nothing that he is a great wizard. Goblins' magic is different from ours, but if wizards bothered to see their customs, their way of living, they would see that there is much more to knowing them than treating them as mere creatures.'' Said Seth.

"It takes you to heart… I imagine it is the same for vampires. There are a lot of prejudices about them. They also possess magic?'' asked Monica.

"Not like wizards or goblins, but they have powers, yes. Some read minds like an open book, even if you know Occlumency. Others feel the emotions, or your intentions, but all vampires can run at unreal speed, have the strength of a dragon, and can live forever. Not to mention that all of their senses are heightened." Seth explained.

Monica stopped in the hallway before entering the Ravenclaw common room.

"Wow." She breathed out. "It's… amazing actually. They don't need magic... they would be…''

Seth grabbed her by the shoulders and kissed her, which knocked her back to the wall. He then took her wrists and brought them up to the top of her head and leaned his body against hers. She tasted of mint and smelled of rose. Her heart was beating faster, and she moaned. He stopped his kiss for a moment, letting them breathe.

"What if... what if we were seen?" she whispered.

He let go of her wrists and placed his left hand in her hair as he moved his right gently down her body not without stopping on her chest which he grabbed for a moment through her shirt, then lowered his hand under her skirt to grab her ass. Her breath was ragged, and he took her lips again. Her hands that had remained above her lowered to fall on Seth's shoulders. He wanted to be in a bed with her, but since the last time he'd had a woman in his bed he had killed her, he was reluctant to bring her to the Room of Requirement, or to another bed.

"So, I'll take points off them, hm?" Seth replied. "But I think you'd like that, right? Being caught."

He slipped a finger into her panties under her skirt and pulled them down, just enough to gain access to her crotch. He ran his finger over her folds and grazed her nub.

"Oh…I…"

She tensed, visibly and suddenly embarrassed. He tugged lightly at her hair and licked her lips and kissed her jaw as he twirled his finger around her nub twice, then slid it further and bringing her liquids up to better slide down her folds. She let out another moan into his ears and he took the opportunity to insert his finger inside her. He projected his magic towards his hand as he assaulted her neck with kisses. She made several little cries, as if to hold herself back, and she no longer knew where to place her hands which were now holding his shoulders. He felt her blood vibrating under her skin where his mouth was placed, and his teeth elongated. He closed his eyes, concentrating on moving his hand, finger, and thumb to see her unravel under his grip.

"Seth…I…ah!"

Her breathing hitched as an orgasm shot through her and he wiggled his fingers again until the end of it. He focused on his own breathing, wanting his teeth to retract before kissing her again and he removed his hand from her panties. He moved his left hand to her cheek and placed his thumb over Monica's mouth as he put his fluid-glittering finger into his own mouth, tasting her musky flavor. He took a step back, pulling away from her and licked his lips.

"Good night, Monica." Seth said before turning on his heels and continuing his rounds.

"G- G-Good night, Seth." Monica mumbled, still with her heart wanting to pop out of her chest.

Seth went outside to get some fresh air. He had managed to control himself with Monica and he couldn't help feeling a certain pride. As he walked outside, he heard a shrill scream coming from the astronomy tower. He turned around and saw with horror that someone was falling towards the ground. He used his vampiric speed to stand at the bottom of the tower and he grabbed the person in his arms. It was Joanna Rose.

She was panicking and thrashing in his arms, so he put her down, but she stumbled and backed away while whimpering. Seth looked up the tower and saw Rosier for a moment before he disappeared from sight.

"Joanna." Seth said.

She was crying, holding her hands over her face. Seth sighed and pulled out his wand before pointing it at her. There was only one thing to do.

"Obliviate." Seth said. She stopped crying, her arms falling to the wet grass, and she stared blankly. He helped her up. "Joanna, you tripped and hit your head against the wall. Don't stay here, you will get cold, okay?

Joanna held her head.

"Ah…thanks, Seth." She said.

"I'll take care of your rounds, go rest." Seth said.

"I…yes, I will do that. Good night, Seth." Joanna said before heading back to the castle.

Seth twirled his tongue several times, anger rising inside him like a volcano about to erupt. He suspected that Rosier had acted through Tom, and he still couldn't believe that he made them young murderers.

Seth now had to go find Rosier, since he had seen that he had grabbed Joanna and that no normal human could have arrived that fast or had the strength to grab someone arriving at such speed.

He used his speed a second time to go towards the astronomy tower and found Rosier coming down the stairs quickly. He arrived in front of him, his eyes black, and Rosier gave a cry of surprise and fell backwards.

"Don't hurt me! I won't say anything! Please!" stammered Rosier.

''Rosier. You were going to become a murderer." Seth hissed before leaning down and grabbing him by the collar. "I can't erase your memory, because Tom would know what happened, and if I bring you in front of a teacher, there would be way too many questions. If I can't act, then I'll let Tom decide your fate. After all, he's your master, right?'' Seth asked as he read a surface of his thoughts.

Rosier grabbed hold of Seth's hand and panicked.

"Are you… are you a vampire, a real one? No one could have saved her so quickly!'' Rosier said.

Seth groaned and he tightened his grip on him and lifted him off the stairs before throwing him to the floor below. He cried out in pain as he landed. The Room of Requirement was not that far away, and he suspected there was a meeting of knights tonight.

"Don't even think about taking your wand, Rosier, because it's your hand you'll lose." Seth said harshly as he grabbed him by the leg and dragged him behind him.

The two professors making their rounds were on the first floor and he couldn't hear the other prefects, so he arrived outside the Room of Requirement unhindered and threw Rosier into the room as the door closed behind him. As a matter of fact, Tom stopped talking with the others.

"Are you training murderers now, Tom?" Seth said.

Tom looked at Rosier who leaned back against the wall and Tom tilted his head to the right side.

"It depends if he failed before considering it that way." Tom said before pointing his wand at him.

Seth positioned himself between him and Rosier.

"Hey, I was the one who caught Rose down the tower." Seth said.

"That's not his problem." Tom replied with a smirk.

"I wiped her memory, she won't know." Seth said.

Tom's expression didn't change.

"Move away." Tom said without flinching.

"My Lord, please…" stammered Rosier. "It's not my fault that Seth is a v..."

Tom cast a spell that pushed Seth to the side before casting the cruciatus on Rosier. His screams echoed around the room and Tom was smiling, clearly enjoying what he was doing, but he wasn't the only one...Malfoy, Black, Nott and Avery seemed euphoric, enjoying bathing in Tom's dark magic. He couldn't blame them.

"Tom, stop it." Seth said.

He didn't stop and Rosier started to foam at the mouth.

''VOLDEMORT! STOP!" Seth shouted in disgust.

Tom raised his wand. His eyes glinted red, and he returned his attention to the table where there were scrolls with several names written on them. Joanna Rose was there at the top of the list and Seth had a bad aftertaste in his mouth.

He looked at Rosier who had struggled to his feet, but at least he knew he still had his head and he wondered if there were potions against the effects of the Cruciatus to prepare somewhere. The Room of Requirement answered his silent question and conjured up potions for pain on a shelf. He took one and handed it to Rosier, who slapped his hand, causing the vial to fall to the floor.

''Don't touch me, you filthy half-breed Mudblood!'' spat Rosier.

In Seth's eyes, he had just lost any respect he might have had.

"I killed for less." Seth hissed in Parseltongue before giving Tom one last look and walking out of the Room of Requirement.

"He doesn't deserve to speak that language. Only you are the true heir to Slytherin, my lord, not him!'' Avery said.

"He's ruining the plans..." Orion said shaking his head.

Rosier sat down next to Malfoy and banged his fist on the table.

"With all due respect, my Lord, I don't see why you don't do anything with him." Rosier said.

Tom twisted his wand between his fingers.

"Although it is none of your business, Rosier, it is time you realized the magnitude of what Seth represents. As you could nicely see, Seth is a vampire, not just a wizard. With that information alone, do you know what it means?'' Tom said.

Rosier opened and closed his mouth, not sure he understood. Black patted him on the back of the head.

''Silly. He's stronger and more powerful than anyone here.'' Orion said. "You may hate him but stop thinking he's just a mudblood… when his birth is pure magic. Even my family, including Lord Black, who hates Muggles more than anything on this planet, did not hesitate for a second to ally with him.

Rosier looked down and gritted his teeth.

''So, what do we do? Do we continue with what was planned?" he asked.

"It would be wiser not to attempt another suicide attempt with Imperius. Did he say he caught her as she fell from the tower?'' asked Malfoy suavely.

"Yes." Avery said, impressed by what he had just heard. "What exactly did he say before he left?"

Tom smiled weakly.

''That he had already killed for less than that.''

OoOoO

June 18, 1943

During the weeks and months that passed, Seth had to see several students who were injured, sometimes seriously, without being able to intervene. Some had received almost permanent curses that no one knew the counter-spell.

The more he thought about it, the more he didn't want to go back to Hogwarts for his final year, but rather spend it in Uagadou, as Mijuu Me had told him.

Monica wouldn't let go and between Quidditch, dueling club, and the little time he had with Abraxas, the end of classes came, much to his relief.

He was now in front of Professor Dumbledore for his Transfiguration exam. On a table were several objects, including a vase filled with water, marbles, wooden planks, and a plate.

"You have the task of transfiguring objects into something useful for various situations. You have carte blanche, and five minutes.'' said Dumbledore.

Seth started with the vase of water, swirling his wand, causing the water to shoot up and direct it towards his hand. When the water was in his hand, he blew into it and dozens of rose petals flew into the room. Dumbledore laughed and Seth shrugged.

"A little romance is always nice," Seth said.

"Yes, really pretty, and you haven't said a single word." remarked Dumbledore.

"It's not necessary when my ideas are clear." Seth said, then pointing his wand at the marbles.

He made the movement of swishing and flicking his wand, which made the marbles fly towards him, as the water had done, but the marbles swirled around him and with another movement, of a cross this time, and concentration, Seth transfigured the marbles into small silver-colored daggers and threw them at the table again, not without making the pieces of wood fly which fused together, thus creating a wooden shield. The daggers sank into the shield before gently falling back onto the table, now lined with lethal daggers.

"Attack and defend with any object around you." Dumbledore said. "Again… without saying a word. Impressive, Mr. Vulken."

Seth pointed his wand at the last item, the plate, and transfigured it into crystal glass and filled it with water before speaking an incantation. The water turned red. Seth smiled and crossed his arms.

"Come on, drink from my glass, Professor." Seth said.

Dumbledore took the glass and took a sip.

"Well, it tastes like a Chateau Latour, am I wrong?" Dumbledore asked.

Seth's smile went even wider, and he nodded. It was indeed one of the best wines in the world. He had worked for two months to produce a wine from the spell of Aguamenti and an incantation he had invented. Dumbledore put the glass back on the table.

"What you have done is beyond anything I can teach you Mr. Vulken. If you knew how to transform into an animal, you wouldn't even need to take my course next year.'' Dumbledore said with a laugh.

Seth gave a weak smile in response and looked down for a moment.

"Professor, I…I don't think I'm going to be here next year. I've already slipped a note to Mr. Dippet.'' Seth said.

Dumbledore nodded, since he already knew that.

"Yes, I have heard of it. You're also going to be harboring Tom Riddle as far as I can tell, aren't you?' said Dumbledore.

"Indeed, sir, for this summer, then I'm going to join my parents in Egypt, since I was planning to go to Uagadou." Said Seth.

"Do you know Mijuu Me?" asked Dumbledore.

"Yeah, I saw her over Christmas break." Seth said.

"Well, I wish you luck, Mr. Vulken," said Dumbledore.

''Thank you, sir. I know we should meet again, since my goal remains to work at the Ministry of Magic in London.'' Seth said.

''Alright. Be well.''

"You too, sir."

OoOoO

July 6, 1943

Seth,

My father wants to meet you. Do you think you will be available on July 17? I miss you, can't wait to see you again.

Monica

Seth wrote her a positive response in return before knotting it on his owl's leg who immediately left through the half-open window of the living room. Servants passed, picking up the wine glasses and plates he had left lying around.

"Who was it from?" Tom asked, turning a page from one of the many books he was borrowing from his library.

Tom hadn't said much since they'd returned to Castle Vulken. He had taken an unused adjoining room to Seth's and spent most of his time reading all the books he could.

"Monica Greengrass." Seth replied.

"Ah. This girl… do you love her?" Tom asked casually.

''No. By the way, I never told you why I was courting her.'' Seth said.

He never approved of the decisions Tom made at school and no longer tried to talk to him like he did before. He had therefore never told him about the book written in Parseltongue, nor even about her ring which contained one of the Deathly Hallows.

"There's a reason?" Tom said looking up at Seth.

"The Greengrass have a book written in Parseltongue. Monica mentioned that it's a very precious artifact and her father won't give it up so easily. Since that time, I wanted to be invited to their house and that's just what will happen.'' Seth said.

Tom's eyes flashed with keen interest.

"It is rightfully ours and no one else!" said Tom.

''Effectively. It's my goal to bring this book back here, V." Seth said bringing his attention back to his own book.

Tom slammed his book shut and stood up.

"I want to make a blood pact with you." Tom said.

It was Seth's turn to look up at him, but he frowned.

''What? And why is that?'' asked Seth.

"Because we will be the most powerful persons on this earth, Seth. You want to go into politics, and that's exactly my goal..."

"No! You want everyone at your feet like common insects."

"Tsk, it is my right. As it will be yours to be king.''

''What next? You sure wouldn't want me to be king if you weren't in control of the vampires."

Pause. Tom blinked.

"That is precisely the reason for the pact. I can't do anything against you if you do the same in return.'' Said Tom.

Seth narrowed his eyes.

"Did you know Grindelwald did the same with Dumbledore?" Seth asked. Tom couldn't hide his surprise. "Two big, powerful men who turned on each other." He added.

"And why would you do that? I recognize your power, Seth, but I want you with me. I want your nation through you.'' Tom said.

"My nation? You mean those who live forever, just like you now? Tell me… what shape would your boggart take if it were in front of you, Tom?'" Seth said.

Tom gritted his teeth.

"Stop calling me that! I'M NOT ONE OF THESE REBUSES OF THIS WORLD!' spat Tom.

Seth put down his book and stood up as well.

"What shape, V?" repeated Seth.

Seth saw the anger rising rapidly in Tom. He who still did not control his anger since he knew him. Seth moved towards him, his eyes turning black and his fingernails growing. Tom took a step back and clutched his wand in his hand.

Fear.

"Could it be me?" Seth said two inches from his face. "I know you, V, and you want to make this pact because you're afraid of me and you want a promise that I'll never hurt you."

Tom said nothing, continuing to glare at him. Seth's wand slipped into his right hand, and he pointed it at his left hand and made a gash wide and deep enough for blood to flow freely.

"I, Seth Vulken, promise to never take the life of Tom Marvolo Riddle. With this blood pact, so mote it be." Seth recited, holding his bloody hand up.

Tom stared at the blood dripping from Seth's hand for a moment and made the same gesture with his wand on his right hand.

"I, Tom Marvolo Riddle, promise to never take the life of Seth Vulken. With this blood pact, so mote it be." Tom repeated before pressing his hand to Seth's.

They crossed their fingers as they stared into each other's eyes. The air suddenly became denser, and an invisible wind surrounded them. The flowing blood retracted in their hand creating a gold ring with a blood red line, surrounding their middle fingers with their respective hands: the left for Seth and the right for Tom.

Author's Note: Originally, Seth had raped, yep, raped Voldemort following Voldemort's attack on Corban Yaxley whom Seth already loved and he had sworn him never to touch Corban again in exchange for using his nation. By rewriting this version, I find that it looks much better and more realistic, and it will be very useful since, even if Seth wanted to, he could never destroy the horcruxes himself! Because yes, Seth will eventually want to help Harry end Voldemort's life.

Please, a little comment to encourage me? I love writing, I've been writing for 1.5 years, and rewriting The Purpose, better, is really fun! thank you for reading me!
