Raven found it a little disconcerting to find herself part of the Jaeger household. She had not been sure what she had been expecting. She had heard the reports that Wonder Woman had given regarding the cities within the walls and how they became larger and grander the further inside you went, and had naturally assumed that the Royal Family of the Eldian people. (Or 'Humanity, as the servants and lower class people seemed to refer to themselves as) would be at the center of it all.

It was not. In fact, they found themselves in a cozy farmhouse far off in the countryside. It was, Historia explained to her, a place for her and her alone to do with as she wished. And what she had seemed to decide to do with it was take in as many orphans as she possibly could from the capital and get them off the streets.

"You're a little bit too old to be living here." Historia told her, laughing slightly, as they watched the children from the porch. "But I think you fit in just fine."

Raven had to stop herself from laughing to avoid spitting out the tea she had been sipping. Historia made her laugh more than anyone she had ever met. She was beginning to feel as if they were becoming friends.

The smile faded from her face as her thoughts turned to her friends back home. She had dropped everything to come here, to this island, to ensure that Robin would be spared by the Eldians. Now that he was safe, however, she was effectively their prisoner as well. A pampered prisoner, to be sure, in the company of the Queen herself. But a prisoner all the same.

"They certainly look happy." Raven said. "Happier than I've ever looked."

"You seem happy now."

Raven sighed. "I worry about my friends back home. And about Robin…"

"Robin is doing well." Historia said. "Annie is a very nice person." Raven had been around the Queen enough to know that she almost always referred to the people around her by their first name, and seemed to regard all of them as dear friends. They, in turn, trusted and respected her.

But she was beginning to wonder if that respect carried over to her husband, as well.

Eren was not present at the farmhouse. She had not seen him since she had attended that gathering. He was, from what she had been able to gather, still in the capital, handling the fallout from Outside the walls.

But Historia's ease and comfortable relationship with everyone in and around the farmhouse, even the very young children, made Raven suspect that Historia spent a lot of time out here. And if that was so, that would mean that Eren and Historia were very rarely in the same place. This, coupled with Historia's reluctance to speak at all about her husband, made Raven suspect that things were not going well between them.

Regardless of whatever was going on in her personal life, however, Historia was a gracious host, and very kind. She allowed Raven to be present as members of the Survey Corps (Which she and Eren had been a part of at one point) dropped by to give reports about going ons in the Kingdom. Raven was taken aback by the sheer knowledge that Historia had of her Kingdom and people, and how directly involved in resolving petty disputes between minor businesses and families. A less astute person may have assumed that Historia was spending her time idling away in this country estate, but Raven could clearly see that, even now, she was actively working to make the Island a better place to live.

"One last thing." The scout said, as she checked her notes. "Um. Ymir sends her love."

Historia giggled.

"And hopes that someday… uh… that you will be married."

"Tell her that she knows my demands." Historia said, amused, as the scout awkwardly bent her head and stepped out the door.

"Ymir is your god, isn't she?" Raven aske, as the scout left. "Does she live among you?"

Historia laughed. "No, our Ymir was named after the Progenitor." She said. "Our religion was lost to history for a long time, so I've asked her to take up the mantle of rebuilding it. She has her hands full, to be sure."

"Oh." Raven said. "And what was that last bit? Does she not know that you're already married?"

Historia suddenly looked a little embarrassed.

"Um, well… Ymir and I are… very close." She said. "And I would….. like…. To be closer to her… but she's not very open minded about it."

"Does she not like your husband?"

"She does." Historia said evasively. "It's just that… my interests…. Um. Don't completely align with hers. Do you know what I mean?"

Raven did not. And had the very strong impression that asking her to elaborate would lead into a very awkward conversation. She wasn't exactly sure what was going on with these people, and to be perfectly honest she was beginning to think that she didn't think she wanted to know.

Annie Leonhart was an interesting person. Robin could tell at a glance that she was an expert martial artist. The King Eren Jaeger had entrusted him to her exclusively, and he was sure that Jaeger felt that she would easily be able to over power him. He wasn't sure that he disagreed, but he would have liked the chance to try his hand at fighting her.

"I'd like a spar."

Annie flicked her bangs out of her face. "Just a spar?" She asked, disparagingly.

"Yeah." He said.

"You're that eager to touch me?"

"With my fists."

Annie shook her head.

"Not today." She said. "I have something important planned."

Robin was shocked when he found out what that something important was. The very next day Nora Frieze was completely thawed, healthy, and recovering from her years long slumber.

"You did it?" Robin asked, aghast. "How?"

She flicked her hair again. "I have many talents."

Their conversations went absolutely nowhere most of the time. He would ask her questions about herself, the island, about Eren Jaeger, and about Raven, but Annie would answer none of them.

"I'm only your guard." She said. "Making sure you don't try anything."

"I'm not trying anything." Robin stressed. "I… have nothing but respect for you."

Annie looked taken aback. "You don't know anything about me."

"You cured Nora Frieze." Robin said. "Do you know how long she's been frozen?"

"I didn't care for the details." Annie said dismissively.

"You saved her life."

"And I'll end yours if you don't shut up."

Most of their interactions went that way. Until one day, after being pestered one too many times to spar, Annie finally agreed. An amused group of soldiers sat watching and drinking wine as Robin was thrown to the ground, over and over again.

"Again?" Annie asked, as Robin staggered to his feet.

He raised his hands, in imitation of her movement, but she quickly threw him again.

He lay there staring up at her as she kneeled down over him.

"You're just like Eren was." She told him. "Stubborn to the end."

She refused to fight him again, saying that he had more than enough. Robin spent that night thinking about their fights, and her style, and potential ways to counter it. The next day he asked her again. She agreed.

This time she was sweating a little when they finished, but Robin still had not managed to take a single victory.

"Same time tomorrow?" Robin asked, once she called it quits.

She dabbed at her face with her shirt. Robin caught a glimpse of her well built abs. "If you're good."

He must have been good, because it became a daily routine after that. Without much else to do, Robin found fighting Annie to be the highlight of his day. He spent his time away from the sparring sessions preparing for the next one, and with time, more and more soldiers came by to watch. Eventually he even saw Nora Frieze drop by, chatting amicably with Armin Arlert.

"Why do you keep coming back?" Annie asked. "You haven't won."

"Yet." Robin said.

"You will never win." Annie corrected herself. "I'm better than you."

She clearly was, but Robin didn't care. Every day they would go out, spar a little, and then break. One day she surprised him when she brought him some food herself, rather than having a guard drop off a tray.

"I was cooking for myself, and accidently made a little too much for just one person." She told him. "You may as well have it."

Having meals together became another part of their routine. And then they began to talk about themselves. Robin, although unwilling to talk about Gotham and Batman, was more than willing to talk about Jump City and the Teen Titans. Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and especially Raven, who Annie had seen before. Annie too told himself about her life on the island. How serving in the military was providing for her Foster Father, and how he had taught her how to fight. But she too seemed to be keeping her own secrets.

Robin knew better than to pry, though, and she did him the same courtesy. It was almost like he was speaking to another Titan. All of them had kept something about themselves hidden for one reason or another, and he found himself thinking that Annie could very well have joined the team… if he was in any position to ask her, that is.

And so they sparred, and the crowds began to become bigger and bigger, until it became a sort of event. Food was brought along with the drinks, and Nora Frieze started teaching ballet to interested passerby in between fights, and apparently started making plans of opening her own studio.

Annie stared him down, sweat running down all over her body, her hair a complete mess, as she stared into his eyes, completely focused. Robin stared back.

(She's such a great fighter. I've never….)

She struck first. He struck back, went for her leg, but she countered.

(I've never beaten her)

She took the counter and grabbed hold of him. He knew this move. She had used it against him countless times.

(But I will)

He slid past her grip and put her in a lock. She gave out a surprised gasp as she tumbled to the ground, headfirst.

The crowd went silent as Robin stood over her, staring down at her body. Annie groaned, shook her head, and pushed herself up.

"Are you alright?" Robin asked, concerned, as he went to help her up. "I-"

She grabbed him and pulled him down. He let out a yell of surprise as they tustled on the ground, wrestling by instinct rather than technique. The crowd started cheering again, but Nora Frieze stopped dancing, looking a little bit perplexed.

"No…." She murmured, a smile on her lips. "Don't tell me…"

Robin managed to pin Annie on the ground and lay on her panting. She looked up at her, breathing just as hard. They stared at each other.

"Robin wins!" Someone from the crowd cheered. The crowd erupted into raucous applause. Embarrassed, Robin slid off of her and lay next to her on the ground.

"You got lucky." Annie told him.

"Yeah." Robin said. "Ready for another round?"

She shocked him then. She smiled.

They had sex that night. And the night after. And the night after that. It became kind of a joke for them, that there would always 'be another round.' Robin certainly hadn't expected to fall in love on this island, while he was being held prisoner. But then again, neither did Annie.

A/N

I'm sorry to that guy who wanted Annie to be part of Eren's harem…. I had other plans for her, as you can see. It's weird to think it's taken so long for Annie to be relevant. I kind of regret leaving her on the Island during the Gotham Arc. (Which I suppose is what we're calling it now)

Ymir's in the same boat. I'm surprised more people didn't realize she was still alive in this story. Major props to anyone who can figure out what is going on with that. (I can almost 100% guarantee that no one will figure it out)
