"You know for sure where you are taking us?" Sarah questioned looking at Cameron beside her, who was driving her van.

"Yes." Cameron replied immediately without hesitation.

Sarah nodded. "So, these resistance fighters are here to help us. But why did they never try to contact us?"

Cameron stared at Sarah for a moment with blank eyes. "They were specifically ordered by future John to wait for us. They don't know you or John."

"Why would John do that?" Sarah murmured to herself.

Cameron looked at Sarah, then glanced at John for a moment, who was staring outside the window and didn't seem interested in their conversation. But she knew he was listening. "If those fighters came knocking on your door, would you've trusted them? There was a high probability they'd turned out to be dead."

Sarah was flabbergasted at Cameron's answer. "Why the hell would they have turned up dead?" She asked angrily.

"Because Sarah Connor is paranoid." Cameron answered evenly.

Cameron saw in the rear view mirror John cracked a smile at her answer. Sarah was glaring at Cameron menacingly.

Is she making fun of me? Sarah thought angrily.

"Being paranoid helped us to survive this long." Sarah retorted back angrily. "So these resistance fighters, if they don't know us, things could turn out to be ugly." Sarah added.

"No." Cameron deadpanned.

"Why not? They might think that we are Grays." Sarah questioned, looking at Cameron.

Cameron stared back at Sarah for a moment before answering, "Because they know me."

SOMEWHERE, RESISTANCE HIDEOUT

Four men were seen sitting on the floor in a semi-dark room. The room looked old and dirty but the occupants of the room were not concerned about it. They were talking among themselves in a hushed tone.

"Derek, how long do we have to wait for them to turn up?" One of the men asked, addressing the man sitting on his left side.

"I don't know. But we have to, it's his order." Derek replied.

One of the other two men didn't seem satisfied with Derek's answer. "This is stupid man. How would they even know that we are here? They know nothing about us."

Derek looked at his friend. "Devin. We have to trust Connor. He always has a plan."

Devin held up his hand in front of him. "Hold on, I am not saying that I don't trust Connor. I am ready to follow him anywhere. That man fucking saved all of us from the machines and gave us a second chance."

"Then what's your point Devin?" Another man asked.

"Wiggs hold on man. All I am trying to say is that aren't we wasting our time here, just sitting? Skynet is out there and it is growing. We are just sitting on our asses and doing nothing." Devin explained to Wiggs.

Wiggs glared at Devin. "John Connor always has his reasons. We'll have to wait until Sarah Connor and his younger self comes to us." Then he turned towards the man who was sitting to the right of Derek. "Do you have doubts too, Greene?"

"Nah. I am good, man." Greene replied.

Derek's eyes were on the floor during the whole conversation. He was loyal to Connor, but he'd never forgive that bastard for taking his brother away from him. After the war was over, Connor and Kyle went into a secret Skynet facility for unknown reasons. Connor came back, but his brother, Kyle didn't. When Derek confronted Connor about his brother, the bastard never gave him a straight answer. Connor never told him what happened to Kyle. But now, Derek knew. Kyle also time traveled, like himself but when and where he had no idea.

"Ah, Derek. Are you here with us?" Devin asked, looking at Derek's unfocused eyes.

Derek looked at Devin for a moment before answering, "Was thinking about Kyle."

The three other men looked at each other in understanding. "Did Connor ever tell you what happened to Kyle?" Wiggs asked.

Derek sighed. "Not really. Connor sent him on a top secret mission of utmost importance. He couldn't even share it with me."

Greene put a sympathetic hand on Derek's shoulder. "I understand what you are going through Derek. Sometimes Connor can be mysterious, he knew stuff which was not possible to be known by anyone."

Wiggs smiled slightly, "That's one of the reasons why he is John Connor and not us."

"Maybe." Derek agreed somewhat.

Devin tried to move the conversation away from Kyle. "What about Allison? I do not understand why she didn't come back with us."

Greene smirked at Devin, evilly. "Why are you so bothered about her? Are you still crushing on her?"

Devin turned sour-faced. "Does it matter anymore?"

Greene chuckled. "Come on, Devin we all know that you were totally into her."

Devin glared back at Greene angrily, "As if you weren't?"

Greene held up his hands in mock surrender, "Never said, I didn't. I mean who wouldn't? She is gorgeous."

Once again Devin's face fell, "Too bad, she never gave me a chance."

Greene sighed and looked away from Devin. "Yeah, she was into Connor, totally. Why would she even turn to us, when she had her eyes on the great John Connor?" He said, sadly.

Devin looked at Greene in surprise, "Wait! What? I never got the impression that something was going on between her and Connor."

Greene shook his head. "There wasn't. Most of the ladies were interested in Connor, but he never looked at them."

"I wonder why?" Devin murmured.

Derek decided to cut in. "Connor already had someone. He wasn't interested in anyone else. He lost her a few months before the war ended."

Wiggs looked irritated, "You ladies, got your answers?"

Both Greene and Devin cleared their throats in embarrassment, "Yes, Sir." They replied in unison.

"We do not have rank here anymore, Devin." Derek replied, grinning slightly.

"Right…." Greene was about to say something else but at that moment they heard sudden gunshots outside their room but inside the building and men screaming.

A FEW MINUTES EARLIER, OUTSIDE THE RESISTANCE HIDEOUT

Cameron stopped the van in an alley and got out observing the large six storied building in front of her. She observed the entries and exits carefully and noticed the fire exits.

Clever. She thought. Of course she never expected anything less from any resistance fighters.

"This is the place?" Sarah asked, from beside Cameron while observing the building.

Cameron nodded. As she was observing the building her eyes glowed blue.

John came out from the van. "Do you expect any threats from them at our sudden appearance?"

"No." She replied. "But there are eight men inside the building, heavily armed. They are hostile. Probably mercenaries hired by Grays to kill the Resistance fighters."

Both John and Sarah looked at Cameron surprised.

"How can you tell that? Do you have X-Ray vision or something like that?" John asked curiously. He was getting more and more surprised by Cameron as he got to know her better.

Cameron didn't answer at first. She simply went behind the van and pulled out an AK-12 assault rifle and a SPAS 12 shotgun. She then looked at Sarah and John.

"I can detect the heat signatures of human bodies even through walls." She simply said.

John looked at her in wonder. "Oh. Wow. I didn't know any Terminator could do that."

Cameron smiled slightly. "They can't. I am unique. The most advanced infiltration model ever created by Skynet. I have even surpassed its expectations."

"Oh. Wow. This is new." John seemed to take it all in a good way. But Sarah didn't. She was becoming more and more suspicious about Cameron. As Cameron began to walk towards the building with weapons in hand, John stopped her.

"Cameron, wait."

She looked back at him curiously.

"Mom and I will go up through the fire escape. Which floor?" John said.

"5th." Then she pointed towards a window. John nodded.

"John, aren't we taking a big risk by going in there like that? They could shoot us on sight." Sarah intervened.

"They won't." Cameron cut in.

"Why not?" Sarah asked, irritated. "You said that they could shoot us on sight."

"They won't shoot John. They know the face of John Connor." Cameron simply replied.

Sarah nodded reluctantly.

"Mom, after the fire fight we won't have much time before the Police arrive here. We've to get them out of here as fast as we can." John said.

"John is right." Cameron agreed.

Sarah looked at her son. There was a fire in his green eyes, she had never seen before. A look of determination and confidence. This is not the little John she knew. Her son. He is becoming more and more the future General John Connor, who even Skynet fears.

Sarah nodded with a look of determination on her face. She had to accept that her son had grown up.

John looked at Cameron. "And Cameron?"

She looked at him with questioning eyes. "Yes?"

"Kill them all. I had enough of Skynet manipulating my life. It's time to fight back." John said.

Cameron readied her weapons and nodded.

INSIDE THE RESISTANCE HIDEOUT

"What the fuck is going on?" Devin asked from behind cover.

They heard gunshots and screams from the floor above them.

"We've got to get out of here." Derek suggested in a hurry. "Get to the fire escape, you three. I will cover your back."

While Derek was covering the door, the three other resistance fighters began to move quickly towards the fire escape near the window. But they halted and their eyes widened when two humans came inside through the same path.

"General Connor. Sir." Devin saluted immediately as well as the other two. They deduced in a matter of seconds that the woman standing beside their younger general was no other than the legendary Sarah Connor. But Derek just stared back at John.

"Come on. Go go." John hurried them.

They didn't wait. Not even Derek.

They went to the fire escape and quickly got to the road, near the van. John and Sarah opened the door to let them in. They wasted no time getting inside. Sarah quickly got inside the driver seat and turned the van around, ready to escape.

Derek looked around but couldn't find any reason why they were still waiting.

"Go. Why are we waiting?" Derek whispered urgently.

"We are waiting for her." John said.

"Her? Who are you talking about Connor?" Derek asked, slightly angry.

John also retorted back angrily, "The one who just saved your asses." John looked at the rear view mirror. "And here she comes."

Derek heard footsteps behind the van. When the person came into his view he saw her face. His eyes widened in horror and anger. The three other resistance fighter's eyes were also widened in shock.

The person quickly got inside the fan on the front seat beside Sarah and Sarah wasted no time getting them out of there.

LATER AT THE CONNOR SAFEHOUSE

John, Sarah and Cameron stood face to face with the Resistance fighters in the dining space.

"Why is she here?" Derek asked, his eyes on Cameron. "Did Connor send you back too?"

Cameron looked at Derek, "I am not obliged to answer your questions."

John was getting irritated at Derek's attitude.

"Hey! Shut the fuck up!" Sarah yelled to control the situation. "First you will answer our questions then we will consider answering yours."

At her outburst the situation calmed down.

"How did Skynet zero your position?" Sarah asked. "According to John's order if you were inside the apartment there's no way that Skynet could've tracked you."

"We stayed inside according to Connor's order." Derek replied.

"Maybe you did. But all of you? No." Sarah said.

"I never went out. I swear." Devin said.

"Me neither." Wiggs added.

"I didn't." Greene denied Sarah's accusation.

Within a fraction of second and surprising everyone, Cameron held Greene up against the wall by his throat.

"You are lying." Cameron said, looking towards Greene.

The three other resistance fighters had their guns out and pointed towards Cameron which she ignored. While Sarah had her gun pointed towards the three Resistance fighters.

"Put your guns down." Sarah warned.

"First, tell the tin-can to let go of Greene." Derek retorted back, still pointing his gun towards Cameron.

John decided to cut in. "I deduced that if you know Cameron from the future, then you should also know those guns are useless against her. So, I would suggest you put away your guns, or you may lose your hands."

Then John looked at Cameron. "Cameron, are you sure he is lying?"

"Yes." Cameron said, still looking at Greene, who was getting manhandled by Cameron.

John looked at Greene. "For your own good, I would say that tell us the truth."

"Alright, alright." Greene agreed.

Instantly Cameron let him go and dropped him on his feet on the floor. Greene coughed a bit and struggled for a moment to catch his breath.

"I admit. I was out on the streets at night." Greene said.

"And why were you outside?" Sarah asked, angrily.

Greene looked at Cameron, then at his fellow soldiers, who wore expressions of disbelief on their faces, before looking back at Sarah. "I…. I just couldn't help it. I was born after Judgment Day and never saw the beauty of the world. All I had seen was the apocalypse. I just wanted to experience life, even for a few moments."

Greene wore a look of shame on his face while he explained his actions. "I am sorry."

Then he looked back at Cameron. "You should kill me. I had disobeyed direct orders from the General."

John came forward and placed a comfortable hand on Greene's shoulder. "No one is going to kill you. I understand why you did, what you did. I can't blame you. If I were in your shoes, I would've done the same." John smiled slightly at him.

Greene smiled back, a genuine smile on his face. "You are forgiving me, Sir?"

John said, still smiling, "There's nothing to forgive. Thank you for telling us the truth."

Greene nodded. "Thanks, Sir."

"What is your name?" John asked.

"Greene, sir."

"Ok Greene. If you call me 'Sir' one more time, I will kick your ass myself." John smirked.

"But…." Greene hesitated.

"Just call me, John." John insisted.

Greene smiled. "Okay, John."

Then they shook hands in mutual understanding and respect.

Sarah saw how her son handled the whole situation. She was proud of him. She could already foresee John as the future messiah whom everyone helds in high respect. But, maybe, just maybe if things go right he wouldn't have the need to become the General anymore and she could give him the simple life he always desired.

"So, what now?" John asked, looking at his mother.

Sarah looked at the resistance fighters. "Cameron said, you have ways to forge IDs or money to create one. Do you?"

"Yep." Derek said, and placed a small pouch of diamonds on the table. "This is all we have."

Sarah saw the diamonds. "This is what we need."

SOMETIME LATER, INSIDE JOHN'S ROOM

John looked at Cameron who was sitting on the same rotten sofa and staring outside.

Probably looking for threats. John thought.

"Hey Cameron, can I talk to you for a minute?" John asked.

"Yes, John." She answered.

John saw the changes in her. Like a few hours ago she was a killing machine but now she is just like a normal girl, who didn't emit any violence.

"Um, what is the problem of that Resistance fighter with you? He seems to hate you and doesn't seem to like me much either? Can he be trusted?"

Cameron turned around on the sofa to look at John properly. "You can trust him blind folded, John. He is one of the best and the most trusted soldiers in the Resistance. He will never betray you."

"But why do I feel that he hates me?"

"He does not hate you. After the war ended, you had taken something for him, which was very dear to him." Cameron looked at John. With her explanation his expression started to turn towards guilt. "You don't have to feel guilty, John. You had no other choice. If there were, you would've taken it instead of that."

John smiled a little at Cameron's words.

"You seem to know me well in the future." John stated.

Cameron didn't hesitate to reply. "Yes. I was your closest friend."

John hesitated before asking, "What did I exactly take away from him?"

"His brother. You sent him away." Cameron explained.

John was a little confused now. "Who was his brother? And where did I send him?"

"His name was Kyle Reese." John's eyes widened in shock. "You sent him back in time to protect your mother from the T-800."

John just stared back at Cameron in shock. The man who is in their house is his uncle? But John didn't know that more shocking news was waiting for him in the very next moment.

"The man outside is Derek Reese, Kyle Reese's elder brother and your uncle." Cameron deadpanned.

John's mouth dropped open in greater shock than before. He was flabbergasted. How did Cameron know about Kyle Reese being his father? This is one of their greatest secrets. If this secret gets out Kyle Reese will be targeted by Skynet immediately instead of him. The future will be done for.

"How did you know?" John asked.

"You told me. Your future self." Cameron replied with such an expression on her face that it was the most obvious answer and John asked a very stupid question.

John let out a sigh of relief at her answer. The Connors had never talked about Kyle Reese or who John's father was. It was their greatest secret. They had trusted no one to know it. But his future self, had trusted her. He had trusted her.

John smiled.

It was another proof that he could trust Cameron implicitly. She could've lied, but she didn't. She stated the truth. If his future self could trust Cameron with Connor's greatest secret then so can he. But he noted that Cameron never answered why his uncle seemed to hate her. He would've to ask her later.

"Thanks for telling me, Cameron." John smiled at her.

"You're welcome, John." Cameron smiled back.

UNKNOWN PLACE, 1400 HOURS

A man was sitting in front of a large computer in a dark room. The room was full of wires, high tech machines, servers, etc.

A shadow fell on the man's back and he returned around to look. The man looked visibly feared by looking at the hulking shadowy figure standing outside the room.

"Is the chip ready yet?" A grave voice asked the man.

"Look. This isn't a simple job. This thing is extremely complicated. I need more time to finish this thing. The data you have provided is astounding, I've to understand it fully to get the chip ready as you asked." The man explained fearfully.

"You are inefficient and are no longer useful." The hulking shadowy figure said and before the man could blink he had his neck snapped and his body was on the ground, lying dead, his eyes wide opened.

The shadowy figure stepped near the computer and typed some commands with expert fingers. Another man's face appeared on the screen. He looked in his fifties, he was part bald, some of his hairs had already whitened. The most striking feature was the man's eyes. They were cold and filled with cruelty.

"Proceed with Plan XMC100444L-N22-Cn." The hulking shadowy figure said.

The man in the video feed agreed and the connection ended.

Due to the darkness of the room, the large man's face was not completely visible. But after the computer screen turned dark, his face reflected on the screen. His face was still not visible but his eyes, both of them were glowing red, like a machine's eyes.

A/N: I was long gone and I apologize. My older computer which was troubling me for the last five years had died completely and I had to buy a new one. And even after buying a new one I had to face several problems like replacing faulty parts which I had bought from the shop.
Now, my new PC is ready and I'm ready to write again.

You may seem to notice that John seemed a little bit cruel here when he told Cameron to kill the men hired by Grays to kill the Resistance soldiers. But he had to. If Cameron left the mercenaries alive they would've probably come after them again. He didn't want to take any more risk.

I know this is not like the John who was in the show, and I've intentionally did this. For example going to school, or going out on a date with Riley when he knew that Cromartie was still out there felt very stupid for me, specially him. He knew what was at stake and his importance. He knew the danger. Here I stopped John from making those stupid and idiotic mistakes. Sorry for saying this, but in the show sometimes he felt like a brat.
