The kids had gotten back up to the safety of the third floor. To make things easier so they could process what they had seen, everybody had gone back up to Shaggy and Fred's room. Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Thorn sat together on the couch, while Dusk, Luna and Daphne (whom there were not enough seats left for) sat on the carpeted floor.
"Like, zoinks! What do we do?" Shaggy panicked.
"Well, while that was extremely scary, I think we need to take the rational approach and work towards solving this thing." Velma replied.
Shaggy had no idea how she could be so calm and collected after such a terrifying event. He was practically crawling out of his skin.
"How can you think about that at a time like this?" Thorn panicked, her voice sounding just a tad bit snarky. Shaggy was glad that he wasn't the only one who was afraid.
"I think it makes perfect sense." Fred replied. "We've got to stop that creep before he does anything else."
"But how do we stop him?" Luna inquired. "I don't even know what we'd be able to do."
"Well, let's think through what we know." Daphne replied.
"The killer murdered two kids, and he's murdering a third soon." Thorn replied.
"He threatened Headmistress Quinlan with those notes, and somehow he was able to murder those kids without anyone seeing him." Fred added.
"There's that creep running around that we think is the killer." Dusk interjected.
"I think that's all we know right now." Luna responded.
"It would be nice if we could find some clues about who this person is." Daphne replied. "That would help make solving the mystery a lot easier."
Shaggy shivered at the thought of this. He wanted to stay as far away from that creep as possible, not get closer to them. It was clear from the confrontation tonight that whoever this was meant business. He would much rather leave this to the professionals.
"Maybe we could go back out there." Velma stated, causing Shaggy to gasp.
"Like, what? Why would we want to do that when that creep is waiting for us?" Shaggy shuddered. There were times he didn't understand Velma's logic, but this time, he really didn't understand her logic. It seemed like it would be plunging them right back into danger.
"You didn't let me finish." Velma informed. "Of course it isn't safe to go out there tonight, but we could try getting up really early and heading out there in the morning. Breakfast opens at 6, so if we all got ready before then, quickly ate our breakfast, and headed outside before 6:30, we could be back for Mr. B's class at 8."
"Hey, that's actually not a bad idea!" Fred interjected.
"I like the idea too." Thorn answered. "That creep wouldn't dare show his face in broad daylight."
"Exactly." Velma smiled. "So, are the rest of you guys in?"
"Heck yeah. Somebody's gotta stop that creep, and it doesn't seem like it's gonna be Headmistress Quinlan." Dusk said.
Daphne looked a bit uncertain about how to respond at first, and the cautious look on her face clearly showed she was experiencing some anxiety with the idea. After some hesitation, Daphne nodded and replied "Okay, I'm in."
Luna let out a sigh. "I suppose there wouldn't be much likelihood of danger if we did it during the day."
Shaggy felt a churning in his stomach as he realized everybody said they were in except him. Even though he figured his new friends would be accepting if he said he wouldn't do this, he felt a bit of peer pressure to say yes. He didn't want to lose these friends, and given their friendship had started around the idea of solving a mystery, what other choice did he have? He would just have to hope there wasn't going to be a large likelihood of danger, like Luna had said.
The shaggy-haired teen wasn't even fully committed to his answer until the words began to leave his lips. "Like, yeah. I'm in."
Velma yawned as she got out of bed. Although the horned shadow had given her quite a fright last night, she was eager to investigate near the front entrance of the school. She was extremely curious if whoever was trying to scare them may have left behind a clue.
Typically, Velma awoke to an empty bed next to her, so she was a bit surprised to see Thorn still sleeping. She must have been exhausted. Thankfully, today was Friday, so she would be able to sleep in as much as she wanted for the next two days.
Velma was unsure of what to do. She didn't want to rudely awaken her roommate, but on the other hand, she had told everybody she wanted to be up to help them look. After a bit of thought, Velma had decided upon waking Thorn. She started out by lightly tapping her on the shoulder. This seemed to cause Thorn to stir just a little, but she didn't fully get out of bed.
Velma decided she needed to resort to more drastic measures to awaken her roommate.
"Thorn, wake up!" Velma stated at normal volume. She didn't want to shout, as the point was to wake her up, not scare her half to death.
Nothing.
Velma wondered if perhaps mixing her two strategies was an effective way to get Thorn awake. With that in mind, she lightly shook Thorn and repeated "Wake up, Thorn!"
"Huh, what?" Thorn sprung awake. "What's the problem?"
"It's 5:30am. You've got 30 minutes left to shower and get down to breakfast." Velma informed.
"Give me 10 more minutes. I can get ready in 20." Thorn yawned, as she laid back down.
"No, you can't." Velma said in a playful tone. "C'mon, get up or we'll be late. Do you want to shower first, or should I?"
"You can." Thorn mumbled. Her voice seemed so sleepy that Velma wasn't even sure if she'd fully processed what she'd said. Velma was a bit worried Thorn was going to lay back down when she was in the shower, given Thorn had not gotten fully out of bed yet. Thankfully, Thorn looked like she was groggily getting up to go pick out some clothes for the day, which relieved Velma enough to go in the shower.
Fred and Shaggy had been waiting down in the dining hall for the rest of the gang to arrive. It was now 6:10, 10 minutes after the time they'd agreed to meet.
"Like, where do you think the girls are?" Shaggy wondered.
"Who knows." Fred shrugged.
As if on cue, Shaggy and Fred saw Daphne, Luna and Dusk all coming into the dining hall.
"Hey, so sorry we're late." Luna apologized.
"Today we learned that we can't coordinate three people each having their turn in the bathroom in just an hour." Daphne joked.
"It's totally fine, we're just finishing up eating." Fred responded, feeling eager to get outside and look for clues. Admittedly, the thought of some creep wandering the school grounds at night freaked him out, so he wanted to figure out who this person was as soon as possible. "Did any of you see Velma and Thorn on your way down?"
All three girls collectively shook their heads.
"No, we didn't see them." Dusk verbally confirmed.
"Hmm, like, I wonder where they could be." Shaggy thought out loud.
"While we're waiting, where do we want to investigate first?" Daphne inquired.
"Maybe by the football field where we saw that creep last night?" Dusk suggested.
Fred jumped a little bit when he heard a new voice interject herself into the conversation. "No, I actually think it would be better to investigate in the bushes."
Fred quickly realized the voice was coming from Velma, who had just come down for breakfast with Thorn by her side.
"I think that's a great idea! Both times we've seen whoever it is, they're always lurking around the bushes." Thorn pointed out.
"Like, I still don't know if I'm ready to investigate out there." Shaggy gulped. "What if that shadow is still lurking around?"
"There isn't a shadow of a chance that the shadow is still out there during the daylight." Daphne said with a chuckle. "They'd be seen. Now, I'm going to go get some food."
"Oh boy, I should have used that extra 15 minutes to sleep." Fred joked, looking at his empty tray.
"Like, I'm gonna use that extra 15 minutes to eat!" Shaggy exclaimed, as he headed up with the five girls to get another helping.
"Are we even allowed to get a second helping?" Dusk wondered.
"Like, I don't know, but I guess I'm gonna find out!" Shaggy chuckled.
Fred sat there quietly as the rest of the gang went up to get their food. He'd slept a bit fitfully the past few days. Sleeping away from home was definitely a bit of an adjustment, but he felt like he'd still been able to get just about enough sleep to feel mostly rested. Solving a series of murders in his first week at a new school wasn't exactly what he'd planned for, but he hoped they would find a clue outside that would reveal the killer's identity, so the person could be arrested and this nightmare would be over soon.
Fred let out a yawn as his six friends came back to the table, each with a tray full of food.
"Still tired? I know I am." Velma remarked.
"Yeah. I haven't been sleeping as well here." Fred replied. "It's been a bit of an adjustment getting used to sleeping in a new bed."
"That makes sense. I've been having the same issue." Velma said.
"The pillows are way too soft and flat here." Dusk lamented. "I prefer much harder pillows."
Everyone else was still too tired to be chatty yet, as it was quite early in the morning and they were all still waking up. Fred didn't mind though - he was kind of happy that they were turning into the kind of friends that were able to be in each other's presence without having to talk all the time. It was oddly sort of endearing that they'd become comfortable enough with each other that the awkward silence was no longer awkward. Once everybody had shoveled down their breakfast, the seven friends began to get a bit more talkative with each other.
"Well, it's 6:35. We should probably get moving if we want to have ample time to look around before classes." Velma suggested.
"Yeah." Thorn yawned, her eyes looking quite sleepy and distant. She stretched her arms as she got up from her chair. The rest of the group quickly followed, as they started heading for the front door.
"Did we want to stick together, or split up and look for clues?" Fred inquired.
"Like, stay together, please." Shaggy gulped. "There's safety in numbers, after all."
"Actually, I kind of like Fred's idea." Velma remarked. "Maybe we could have one group of three and another group of four."
"We've already lost some time from what we'd planned, so I think it's a great idea!" Thorn chimed in.
"It's a nice idea, but how do we want to divide it up?" Dusk asked.
"Well, who wants to be in my group?" Fred asked. He hoped he didn't sound too bossy suggesting this, but he figured designating himself a team captain would help speed the process up.
"I can." Dusk said.
"I'll join you both." Velma volunteered.
"Like, I'll join you all too." Shaggy offered.
"So I guess that leaves me, Daphne and Thorn." Luna concluded.
"Sounds like a plan!" Fred replied. "Let's meet back here in about an hour. That should leave us enough time to get to class by 8."
"We can take these bushes, if that works." Luna offered.
"Sure. We'll take the football field. C'mon, guys." Fred stated as he began walking towards the field. He wondered what exactly there'd be to find on the field, but he supposed they'd find out in mere moments.
The group was silent as they curiously walked the trail that the shadow had chased them on last night. Fred didn't think they'd find anything until they got near the field towards the patch of trees the shadow appeared by, but he still glanced along the ground to see if he could spot anything of curiosity.
"Doesn't seem like there's anything." Dusk shrugged.
"I have a sneaking suspicion there will be once we get to the bushes." Velma said.
Shaggy gulped. "I just hope that sneaking suspicion doesn't mean something creepy is going to sneak up on us."
All of a sudden, a tiny clink could be heard on the ground. The sound couldn't have been any louder than a squeak from a mouse, so no one was caught off guard. Except for Shaggy for this, who had jumped nearly ten feet.
"Zoinks!" Shaggy yelped.
"Shaggy, it's okay." Fred assured. He felt bad for the poor guy. Shaggy was so frightened that he looked like he was actually shaking. Fred looked at the ground towards where the tiny clink had been heard, but didn't see anything there. He knew there had to be something there, though. "Anybody see anything?"
"Not yet." Velma replied as she knelt down and searched along the grass.
"Hey, I think I might have found something." Dusk said, as she picked up a small circular piece of metal.
"Looks like it could be a ring." Fred replied as he squinted his eyes to catch a glimpse of the small object Dusk held in her hand.
"I don't think it's a ring. It's way too big. It wouldn't fit anybody's finger, unless they were a giant." Velma remarked.
"It looks like one of those things people put their keys on." Shaggy struggled to find the right words. "A key ring."
"Hey, he's right!" Fred agreed. "It looks exactly like a key ring."
"I don't know if it's a clue, though." Dusk pondered. "A kid may have just dropped this. I don't know how it would connect to the mystery."
"Hmm…you've got a point." Velma suggested, as Fred pocketed the item. "Maybe keep it just in case. This seems like a pretty crazy mystery, you never know if it might end up being connected to something later."
While Thorn and Luna searched on the ground near the bushes, Daphne had taken the initiative to go all the way inside the bushes. The inside of the bushes was easily about five feet thick, so Daphne admittedly felt a tad nervous going in there after what had happened a few nights ago.
"Finding anything, Daphne?" Thorn asked from the other side of the hedges.
"Not yet." Daphne said, as she continued looking along the ground. It appeared like she was going to have to give up soon, as she'd been searching for quite a while and found nothing. She quickly accepted that she wasn't going to find anything, so she stepped out of the bushes to inform the other two about her lack of clue discovery. She felt a bit relieved once she'd gotten out of the bushes. Even in the daylight, it was quite dark and shaded in there. There were so many twists and turns in the hedges that she kept worrying that somebody was going to jump out at her.
As she stepped out of the bushes, she yelped a bit with pain as something poked her. Her first thought was that it was a tree branch, but tree branches weren't sharp and jagged like that. It felt as if a piece of metal had punched through her skin.
Daphne looked down at the spot where she had gotten jabbed, and saw it was bleeding just a tad. While this was extremely unpleasant and painful, it did have the positive of letting her know exactly where the sharp object was. The source of the jabbing was at the very edge of the bushes, and the sun reflecting off of the small piece of metal allowed her to see what the item was. As she bent down to grab the object, she was surprised to see what it ended up being. It was a key of some sort.
"Ooh, what'd you find?" Thorn asked curiously.
"It's a key, but I have no idea what it opens." Daphne informed. "There's no marking or room number on it at all. Not even a brand name."
"Do you think it's a clue?" Luna inquired of her fellow redhead. "It could have just been something a careless student left lying around."
"I don't think this was from a student." Daphne replied, pulling her own room key out of her pocket to compare them. "The keys to our rooms are much larger and gold-colored, whereas this one is silver and relatively small."
Daphne spun around when she heard footsteps behind her, but quickly realized that it was just the other group returning from the football field.
"So, did you girls find anything?" Fred wondered.
"We sure did! Daphne found this weird key." Thorn informed, prompting Daphne to hand the key over to her blond friend.
"Hmm…this key has no room number, inscription, or anything on it." Fred replied. "I don't even know how we'd know what it leads to."
"Like, hey, I bet that's what that key ring I found was for! That key Dusk found was on it." Shaggy pieced together.
"Now we know that key is connected to the murderer somehow. There's no way there'd be a key and a ring in both of the spots we saw that shadow if it weren't somehow connected." Velma deduced.
"I think I've got an idea. If you guys are up for an adventure, that is." Dusk's face wore a slightly mischievous smirk.
"Like, I don't know about you guys, but I think I've had enough adventure for one day." Shaggy gulped.
"I'd be down." Thorn casually shrugged.
"Yeah, me too. At least, I think so. What exactly did you have in mind?" Luna inquired.
"Well, if this key is connected to the mystery somehow, we could wait until night and try to test it out on each of the rooms." Dusk suggested.
Daphne was all for adventure, but she wasn't so sure about this. She was fine skirting Headmistress Quinlan's demand that they refrain from solving the mystery, but keying into a random locked room after school hours felt a bit risky. "I don't know about that, Dusk. I think people might be mad if we key into their rooms."
"We wouldn't key into any dorm rooms, obviously. Just check maybe some classrooms, offices, or other rooms on the first floor and second floor to see what the key opens." Dusk suggested.
"Yeah, I'm not so sure about this either." Luna said. "Looking around a locked room that we're not supposed to be in feels like pushing it a step further than just disobeying Headmistress Quinlan."
"She's right." Thorn agreed. "When we're just looking around in the bushes, we could explain ourselves. We could just say we were trying to defend ourselves against some creep that was trying to scare us. But if we're keying into locked rooms, that's basically an admission that we're doing something we're not supposed to."
"I don't think it will be an issue." Velma rebuked. "You know, Dusk kinda does have a point. Headmistress Quinlan caught us on the security camera before because it was her office, and Shaggy wasn't being careful about the papers. There's no way she has time to watch all 24 hours of daily footage of every security camera in the school."
"Besides, if we got caught, we could just say we found this key and were trying to return it. We're just dumb kids after all, who don't realize what we're doing is wrong. We're just good samaritans trying to return a lost key so that nobody bad gets into the room." Dusk wore a fake innocent look on her face.
"I don't know if I like that." Luna replied cautiously.
"Well, I think it's a fine idea." Fred shrugged. "I may interpret it a little bit differently than Dusk, but we are doing this for the good of the school. It's not like our intentions are malicious, and I think Headmistress Quinlan would see that on the off chance we get caught."
"You know, that's a great way of looking at it. I'm in!" Thorn agreed.
"Like, I guess that means I'm in too." Shaggy sighed. His tone did not at all match his words, but nobody seemed to verbally acknowledge it.
"Yeah, count me in as well!" Daphne eagerly replied.
Fred's reframing of the situation comforted Daphne a bit. If she'd learned anything from TV and movies over the years, it was that sometimes doing the right thing wasn't within the rules. You just had to follow what you knew was right.
Classes had passed relatively quickly, which Daphne was glad about. She enjoyed her classes and liked learning, but it had felt like she was constantly "on" for everybody between being in classes all the time or helping the rest of her new friends try to solve this mystery.
Everyone had just finished up with dinner. Presumably to quench his own fear, Shaggy had gone back for seconds and gotten two servings again. Daphne was unsure whether or not the chefs didn't recognize Shaggy or simply didn't care if he got seconds, but regardless, she was a bit surprised he'd gotten away with it twice.
"Like, man, that chicken noodle soup was delicious. I'm so glad I got, like, two bowls of it!" Shaggy exclaimed.
"Well, I hope it gave you enough nourishment to help us find the room that the key leads to tonight." Daphne said in response. She felt a little bit bad for him - he really seemed to be opposed to doing any kind of investigation, but he went along with it anyway. Daphne felt like she should say something to assure him that their friendship wasn't contingent on solving the mystery together. "You know, you don't have to help us out if it's going to freak you out."
"Like, it's alright. I'm happy to help you guys, even if it does make me a little nervous." Shaggy replied.
Daphne figured the reason why he was helping them is that he didn't want to lose their friendship, since she'd gathered over the past few days that he was a loner who didn't have too many friendships. She would never say that to him, though. She wouldn't want to make him feel awkward or put in a vulnerable position if he didn't want to be.
"It looks like pretty much everyone's back up in their room for the night." Velma observed. "I think that means we can get going."
Daphne took that as a cue to get up, as did everyone else. Everyone grabbed their trays and began heading towards the dishroom to drop them off.
"Remember, if we run into anyone, we're lab assistants doing an after hours research project." Fred replied.
"Does this school even have research assistants?" Thorn asked.
"I don't know, so we'll just have to hope nobody else does either." Dusk chuckled.
Daphne felt the tension building a little in her shoulders as she returned her dish and left the dining hall. This was it; once they started, there would be no turning back. It felt quite dangerous to be sneaking around the school trying to unlock doors at night.
"Also, don't forget that rooms 101-110 are dorm rooms, so we can't unlock anything to the left of the elevator. Only the right side is classrooms." Fred added.
Dusk let out a groan as she looked down the right side of the hall. "Man, there must be at least 40 doors on that side."
"I hope nobody catches us as we're guessing and checking." Luna nervously said. Daphne wondered if she'd back out somehow, since she was the only of the group who hadn't given a definitive 'yes' to figuring out where the key went. Regardless, she seemed to be trying to go along with whatever the rest of the group had planned, which made Daphne wonder if it was for similar reasons to Shaggy. She wasn't sure what Luna's social life looked like at her previous school - she hadn't opened up to anybody about that - but based on how reserved and shy she acted most of the time, she figured that Luna didn't exactly have a bustling social calendar.
"It'll be quick and easy." Velma said, sounding a bit firm. Daphne knew it came from a place of trying to ensure the more frightened members of the group that everything was okay. "We'll try the first door now."
"Hold it, Velma." Fred said, looking to the right and then to the left. "Alright, I think we're safe now. Nobody's watching."
Velma quickly stuck the key into the first hole. She quickly realized it wouldn't fit.
"Like, try putting it in a little harder. Maybe it's just stuck." Shaggy suggested.
"No, Shaggy. If you try to force it in, it can bend the key and render it unusable. It doesn't fit." Velma said. "Let's try the next room."
And so the montage began, Velma tried keying in room after room, but to no avail. Fred had designated himself the lookout crew, looking from side to side every now and then just to ensure nobody was going to surprise them. Thankfully, they remained relatively undisrupted as they played guess and check with the keys. Daphne was happy about this, but at the same time, the silence felt a bit eerie.
"Like, hey, it's Mr. B's room!" Shaggy exclaimed.
"I doubt it will be this room either, but we may as well try it." Velma shrugged.
This mystery was so complex and weird to Daphne that she had to admit a small part of her wondered if there was going to be some horrific scenario where the key was to Mr. B's room. She breathed a sigh of relief as Velma tried to put the key in the door, but the knob did not turn.
Velma continued to try the rest of the classrooms on that floor as the rest of the group eagerly awaited to see if that particular door would be the one to open, but none of them were.
"I think we're out of luck with this floor. It must be a door on the second floor." Velma concluded. "Those are all offices up there, so we'll have a lot of checking to do."
All of a sudden, a loud voice could be heard bellowing in the hallway. The group nearly jumped ten feet when they heard the yell.
"Hey, what are you kids doing down there, man?" the voice shouted, as footsteps could be heard running down the hall.
Daphne quickly became relieved when she recognized it was the familiar voice of the school's janitor. He donned a tie-dye shirt under blue overalls, the latter of which looked like it had a large dirt stain on it.
"Hey, Del." Fred waved. "What seems to be the trouble?"
"It looked like you kids were trying to open one of the classrooms. Are you guys trying to break in, man?" Del asked. His voice became more chill and surfer dude-ish as he spoke, but there was still a tiny bit of an edge hidden in his tone.
"No…this is really embarrassing, but I left my textbook in the classroom. I can't do my homework if I don't have it, and my teacher's going to be so mad if I turn in another late assignment." Daphne said in a frustrated voice. She hoped she was doing a good job of playing the part, but she wasn't sure.
"Oh…sorry. I heard some rumor that somebody tried to sneak into the Headmistress's office last night, so I thought I should check. All the classrooms are locked after hours, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for your textbook, man. I recommend explaining the situation to your teacher in the morning and just hope they'll be okay with it. I shouldn't be sayin' this, man, but I rarely did homework when I was in high school, and look at me now! I'm a janitor at one of the most upscale schools in the area, man!" Del proudly said. Daphne didn't particularly think it was anything to be proud of, but who was she to judge?
"That's cool!" Daphne exclaimed. "We're sorry to bother you, sir."
"No problem, dudes. I'm headin' out for the night, man, but you guys have a great night, and don't worry too much!" Del assured as he walked away.
"We won't." Thorn replied, clearly trying not to laugh.
"That was a close one." Fred breathed a sigh of relief.
"Like, you can say that again! I thought we'd be goners for sure." Shaggy gulped.
"Let's just get up to the second floor before anybody else sees us." Luna whispered.
"Good idea." Velma whispered back. "We'll take these stairs instead of the elevator. I noticed the staircase on the second floor when we were up there this morning, so I think that's where this leads."
Daphne held the staircase door open for everyone else. As everyone walked in the stairwell single file, Daphne found the stairs to be a bit eerie and desolate. The stairwell was very bare-bones and was painted a drab shade of white. It looked like it hadn't received any sort of major maintenance in many years, as there were several noticeable chips in the paint and large scuffs on the handrail.
Nobody said anything as they walked up the stairs, trying to be as quiet as possible. Being the first one to make it up to the top, Thorn held the door open for everyone. Once Daphne made it up to the second floor, she noticed they were in a familiar place: right next to Headmistress Quinlan's office.
"Hey, we're back at Quinlan's office!" Dusk exclaimed.
"We might as well try that first, then." Velma shrugged.
"Like, you don't still think she's involved, do you?" Shaggy questioned.
"Well, I don't think so, but you never know. We may as well still try her office. With a mystery like this, we have to suspect everyone." Velma plainly replied.
"You mean, even Dusk could be the culprit?" Shaggy gasped. Dusk wasn't particularly pleased by this remark, as noted by her placing her hands firmly on her hips.
"No, Shaggy." Daphne laughed. "Unless this mystery is way more complex than we thought, I don't think we have to suspect anyone in this group."
"Umm…guys." Velma said. Her remark was dripping with undertones with anxiety and shock, causing Daphne to spin around immediately. She quickly became as surprised as Velma sounded when she saw what the glasses-clad brunette was referring to: Headmistress Quinlan's office was wide open. The key had opened it.
"Like, zoinks! You were right about Quinlan's office!" Shaggy cried.
"Holy crap!" Dusk exclaimed.
Daphne was still trying to process the implications of this. That had to mean Headmistress Quinlan was involved in this somehow. But why would Headmistress Quinlan have been in both spots they'd seen the shadow, and why would her keys have been in the bushes?"
"Yes, Velma was right, and you're in for a fright!" a ghastly, desecaded-sounding voice rasped. Daphne couldn't believe her eyes; behind Quinlan's desk sat the shadow, just smoldering with its evil grin and petting its overly fingernails on one hand with its other hand. What caused her even more terror is that she quickly saw it wasn't just a shadow. The creature had a ghostly white face, extravagantly long bushy black hair, and horns shooting out of the back of its head. Its red eyes were bloodshot, and its mouth looked slightly deformed. The creature wore a tattered navy blue suit along with navy blue pants to match. "You will never escape to tell anyone on this nigh', for I am the Freak of Crystal Cove High!"
