Once again a thousand apologies to everyone. Lots have been happening and I am trying the best I can. I can't believe how much time had [past since I was able to write. I really, really have to thank everyone to has read any of the stories I have done. I truly can't express just how much it means to me. A lot has been happening in my life and my country and I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it. Right now, I'm just trying my best not to give up.
I apologize that it might not be much.
Chapter 14
Shisui was able to quietly leave the meeting room when the arguments erupted. Besides the outburst Sasuke had weeks ago, he never expected the boy to come to a meeting, let alone show himself and call out his father and the clan on their actions. Despite them being father and son, this isn't something Fugaku would take sitting down. He knows the only reason the clan head didn't raise his voice, was because others were around, in private however would be a different story. Apart of him wished the young one had at least given them a heads up on what he was planning…but then again sometimes he it was probably best they didn't and see how the young one handled things on his own.
Sasuke gazed out the window in class as Iruka gave a lecture on Chakra. He was glad that he already had these lessons memorized, as he already had too much on his mind. Itachi and Shisui wants him to be more careful with what he say to others, especially their father. Sasuke understood why he must be cautious around him, but he still wanted to knock some sort of sense into him…and the other clan members who support his idea's. One good thing his brother and cousin mentioned to him, was that some of the clan members seemed to listen to him and actually, began to think about what he said at the meeting. He knew that conflict may start within the clan, but if it can help to minimize tensions, and bring peace among them. Hopefully, once they reach that stage, peace can come between them and the village.
'Sadly, the elders are the biggest problems he has right now.' He thought. The persons who held power and reign over the village, would be the Hokage, the elders and the Fire Lord. Sasuke began to wonder he the Lord was aware of what was happening before, or if Danzo interfered and prevented the information from reaching him. He gave a deep sigh trying to shake the thought from his mind for now, turning back to the front not wanting to be spotted for not paying attention.
Fugaku sat at his desk within the Police Headquarters, with a headache slowing growing. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he really felt lost when it came to trying to understand his younger child. He understood a bit why the young boy would see the clan's actions as violent and almost savage, as clan head he was beginning to feel his hands being tied. Too many of the council members agree to the planned Coup, along with many of the teenagers. Those who were Sasuke's age are being kept in the dark about what going on. He was starting to feel pressure both from the Clan and the Hokage, who was of course trying to find a more peaceful solution, that wouldn't result in bloodshed. Sasuke's words have been haunting him since he's said them, and part of his mind kept yelling at him…'your son is right!'
But even so, how does he convince the council members of that. The arguments last night almost became violent among them. He now began to wonder if Sasuke would be able to convince the council, the way he was able to convince some of the members in last nights meeting. Fugaku was still amazed that Sasuke was able to figure what was happening without being told by anyone. Maybe he didn't pay that much attention to the youngest, as he did with his oldest child. Maybe that was one of the reasons they don't always see eye to eye on certain topics. Since tomorrow was the weekend, he wondered if Sasuke would be comfortable spending some time with him. Hopefully this would help them to build a bond between father and son.
The sound of the bell ringing through the academy has signaled the end of another school day. Sounds of the young ninja in training was heard through the building, that spilt out into the road.
Sasuke walked almost in a daze, until a loud voice calling his name, snapped him out of it. Looking back, he spotted his two future teammates jogging towards him. The sight of them brought a small smile to his face. Nodding to them, the three kids started their walk home. As the three chatted away, Sakura could tell something seemed different about Sasuke. She thought back to the concerned look he had throughout the day. She wondered if Naruto or if even their sensei Iruka noticed something different like she did. Whatever it is, she didn't want to push him to reveal it. Whenever he's ready, she would be there for him when and if he need's her. Sakura noticed after becoming friends with the young Uchiha, he's a lot more mature than a lot of her other class and school mates. She wondered if it runs in their family, as she noticed from the few times they ran into Itachi and Shisui Uchiha, that they are also wise and mature; specifically, the young Uchiha Heir.
After taking Naruto home, Sakura then saw her chance, hoping that a small question, doesn't go so wrong. "Um Sasuke-san, are you alright?"
Sasuke turned to look at Sakura with confusion in his eyes. "Um, yea I'm alright. Why do you ask?"
"Oh its just, you seemed like something was bothering you earlier, so I just wondered if you were ok?"
'Earlier, maybe she saw me when I was in deep thinking in class. I need to be more aware of when and where I go blank out like that.' Sasuke thought. Turning a corner, he answered his friend.
"I was just thinking about something my father said earlier. It's nothing to worry about, ok?" He answered, giving her a small smile. Sakura returned the smile; and to an outsider, she let the matter rest. But, inside she knew it was something more…but she remembered that it wasn't good to try force him to speak. So she let it go for now, knowing that she would be there for her new friend.
