Daphne, in her periwinkle blue bathing suit, leaned over everyone already in the water, saying, "You know how I love trainwrecks... How could you think that I'd miss this for the world?" Her foxy smile was predatory.

Harry Potter made the mistake of speaking up, "You think Malfoy pursuing Granger is a trainwreck?"

Daphne giggled, her breasts bouncing with the force of her laugh. "Oh, Harry, you are so adorable." Draco Malfoy felt his blood run cold. "No, Malfoy isn't pursuing Hermione, that would be ridiculous. I mean, have you thought of the babies? Their heads would be so big they'd actually explode!"

Harry blinked at her, and Malfoy had a sudden sense of schadenfreude. Potter hadn't dealt with Daphne Greengrass before, not on a personal level.

Daphne grinned triumphantly, "Malfoy is pursuing Luna Lovegood, who as I'm certain you know, loves riddles and puzzles. And, oh! What a puzzle he is!"

Harry blinked a bit more, and eventually blurted out, "How does dating Hermione help Malfoy pursue Lovegood?"

Daphne continued, her smile growing as wide as a Cheshire cat's, "Isn't it obvious? Malfoy's a bit shy!" She cackled.

At this point, Granger also had her brows down in a frown, trying to riddle out what the hell Daphne was on about.

So Draco Malfoy cut in, in his best drawl, "That's the thing about Daphne. She never, ever tells the truth."

Daphne pouted, turning her face into a moue of disapproval, "Spoil my fun!" she said, spoiltly kicking water in my face.

"You'll just keep on anyway..." Malfoy continued.

Daphne raised her eyebrows coquettishly, "You'd love me less if I didn't, you know."

"I don't love you at all," Malfoy said dismissively.

"See? See! Exactly!" she giggled, jumping in the water.

Blaise, as usual, just watched the chaos.

Unbeknownst to Malfoy, Granger had floated up near him. "Why did you look so upset to see her arrive?"

"She always lies, sure," Malfoy whispered, barely audible over the waves, "But just because she doesn't hit the bullseye doesn't mean she doesn't hit the target."

Up on the beach, Luna Lovegood kept writing, about god knows what, and who cares...

"Theo!" Daphne suddenly called, yanking him back from his attempt to slink back up on the beach.
