The city was in chaos due to the dark spirits that roamed everywhere, attacking everything in their path.

Many civilians and pure spirits scurried away from the affected areas while the police and Lin dealt with them.

Of course, they knew from the Avatar and their experience with them that they weren't to be killed or it would bring dangerous consequences for the causer, so they had to do everything they could to hold them back or take them down, which they had succeeded with some by binding them with metal ropes or locking them in earthen traps and such.

Meanwhile, on one street, Ranga could be seen running nonstop through the streets, beating any dark spirits in his path with claws and fangs.

On his back were the other members of Team Avatar who were holding on with all their might due to the high speed at which the horned wolf was going.

The reason for this was that Mako suggested going to help Lin and the police so they could take care of the situation all together, but in the absence of a vehicle, they had no choice but to ride the monstrous animal.

Returning to Lin, she had just taken down another dark spirit by crushing it under a wall of earth, but then, a dark spirit approached her from behind to strike her, but a fireball hit it, causing it to scream in pain and recoil in time for a ring of lava to erupt around it and encase the spirit in a cocoon of hardened lava.

Soon after, Ranga stopped and the others climbed down from him.

"I'm glad you came." said Lin.

"How's the situation, chief?" asked Mako.

"Not so good. There are too many of those monsters on the loose and we can't keep up with them." said Lin.

"Don't worry. Now that we're here, the situation will get better." said Bolin pounding his fist with his palm.

"Who is your friend?" asked Lin pointing to the horned wolf.

"He is Ranga, a friend of Rimuru's. He left him with us to help us." said Asami.

"At this point, I accept any kind of help. By the way, where's Korra?" asked Lin.

"She went with Rimuru to stop Tokuga. They think that if they defeat him first, the dark spirits will stop and the situation will be resolved." said Asami.

"But in the meantime, we have to stop them to avoid injury." said Ranga, to Lin's surprise, as she hadn't expected him to speak.

"Right. Let's go, everyone." said Mako as they all rushed into battle.

Mako was throwing fireballs at the dark spirits, knocking them back, but a couple of them dodged the attacks before lunging towards him to attack him, but Mako stepped aside to avoid them.

He then launched a wave of fire that struck the dark spirits, causing them to scream in pain and before they could react again, Lin appeared and threw a pair of metal ropes that bound the two spirits.

Bolin hit some spirits with pillars of earth, knocking them down in the process and others he cornered with pools of lava before locking them in prisons of earth and lava.

A dark spirit tried to attack him, but Bolin moved to the side before throwing his lava shuriken, not at the spirit, but at the lamppost next to it which, when cut by the lava shuriken, landed on the spirit, stunning it long enough for Bolin to throw a rock at it that knocked it down.

Asami moved nimbly to dodge the dark spirit's attacks and when she saw the opportunity, she quickly approached it and kicked it in the face before touching its chest with the electrified gauntlet, giving it a shock that made it roar in pain before falling unconscious.

Another dark spirit approached her from the side, but Asami leapt over it and while she was in the air, she kicked it in the back that knocked it to the ground and before it could get up, Asami grabbed it by the head with her electrified gauntlet, shocking the spirit unconscious.

Suddenly, something hit her from the side and sent her rolling on the ground and when she raised her head, she was terrified when she saw a huge, ferocious dark spirit preparing to finish her off, but before it could do so, Ranga pounced on it and attacked it with claws and teeth until it eventually defeated it.

"Thank you, Ranga." said Asami with a smile and getting up from the ground.

"You're welcome." said Ranga as he waved his tail in joy.

Meanwhile, Korra and Rimuru were in a similar situation as they fought the dark spirits that served as bodyguards for Tokuga.

Korra created a wall of earth to stop the advance of one dark spirit before launching a fireball that knocked down another with an explosion.

When the first dark spirit climbed the wall until it was on top, Korra knocked down the wall and trapped the spirit under the rubble.

Another dark spirit rushed towards her, but Korra used airbending to get it over her before launching it towards another incoming dark spirit, causing them both to fall before using waterbending to trap them in ice.

"Raphael, do you think I can kill those spirits without harming myself?" asked Rimuru.

"Analysis. The spirit of humans is damaged after the death of one, but I don't know the result on monsters or other non-human beings." said Raphael.

"In that case, I shouldn't risk it and hold them, just like Korra." though Rimuru.

Moving quickly, Rimuru shot out several spider threads that caught several of the dark spirits attacking him, who were trying to break free, but were unable to do so due to the strength of the threads.

Just as Korra had taken down the last dark spirit around her, she felt something closing in on her quickly and leaned back in time to dodge a shuanggou that managed to cut a bit of her hair.

Leaping backwards, she turned her gaze to the wielder of the weapon, who was none other than Tokuga.

"I was getting bored from standing there watching so much, so I decided to get a little exercise." said Tokuga.

"You're going down, Tokuga. I know all your tricks." said Korra remembering when they fought, both in human form and in his current form.

"That's possible, but those were my old tricks. I gathered some new ones in my time off duty." said Tokuga before approaching Korra at high speed with his weapon at the ready, but Korra managed to dodge him.

Quickly, she created several icicles which she threw towards the spirit man, but he quickly shattered them with his tentacle before throwing it towards her, managing to grab her leg and before she could react, Tokuga sent her crashing into the wall.

Tokuga smiled as he saw that he had hit the Avatar before he felt something coming towards him and quickly turned around to block a katana carried by Rimuru with his weapon.

Both weapons pushed against each other, clashing sparks in the process.

"You are skilled, I'll give you that." said Tokuga.

"I don't need your flattery." said Rimuru before the two stepped back and began a weapons duel.

Despite Rimuru's speed and strength, Tokuga was proving to be equal in both, as he was able to keep up with the human slime's skills.

"He's more skilled than I thought. He must have some opening." thought Rimuru.

"Analysis. The right side is completely unprotected." said Raphael.

"Right. And if he tries to protect himself with his tentacle, I'll just cut it off." thought Rimuru.

After another clash of weapons, Rimuru quickly directed his weapon towards the right side, but then, Tokuga managed to block the katana with his tentacle which was covered with metallic scales, to Rimuru's surprise who quickly backed away.

"As I said, I have new tricks that I gathered thanks to… the food I had." said Tokuga.

"So you've acquired a predator-like ability. Depending on how many spirits it has devoured and how many abilities they have, things might be more difficult than we thought." thought Rimuru before noticing something that made him give the spirit man a smile. "Well, you're not the only one who has tricks up his sleeve."

Tokuga was confused by that before a pillar popped out of the ground and hit him in the chest, sending him flying high and before he could react, Korra, who had recovered from the previous hit, created a tornado with which she caught Tokuga and pushed him hard against the ground before undoing the tornado.

Korra and Rimuru prepared to continue fighting as they watched Tokuga get up from the ground with a slight groan.

"Alright, time to get serious." said Tokuga before he quickly headed towards the Avatar.

Korra moved quickly back and forth, not only to dodge his weapon's slashes, but also his tentacle touches, as Tokuga was adept at blocking people's chi, nullifying the powers of the benders as well.

Just as she dodged a cut from his weapon, Tokuga moved his tentacle quickly to deliver a couple of quick blows to Korra's arm, disabling it as she groaned from it.

Tokuga was about to deliver another blow until Rimuru stood in front of him and kicked him in the chest sending him backwards.

"Are you okay?" asked Rimuru.

"Yes, but it will take me a while to get my arm back." said Korra.

"It will be enough." said Rimuru before shooting a spider thread at the spirit man who dodged it in time before swinging his tentacle, thus launching several sharp scales.

Korra used her free arm to raise a wall of earth that protected them from the scales.

Rimuru rounded the wall and charged towards the spirit man who continued to shoot scales from his tentacle, but Rimuru repelled them with his katana as he continued his advance.

When he reached him, he tried to slash at him, but Tokuga managed to block it quickly with his weapon and with agile movements, he used the hook of his weapon to grab the katana and pull it away from Rimuru, who had to back up quickly to dodge a vertical slash that would have literally split him in two.

Before Tokuga could attack again, Korra jumped over the wall and used metalbending to create a spiked ball and shoot it at Tokuga with a kick, but the spirit man dodged it with ease.

However, that served as a distraction, as Korra accelerated towards him with airbending and hit him in the face with a fist wrapped in fire.

As Tokuga bowed from the fiery punch, Rimuru stepped up behind him and delivered another punch that sent him crashing into the wall.

"How's your arm now?" asked Rimuru.

Korra managed to raise her arm and clench her fist before creating a flame of fire in her hand.

"Better now." said Korra relieved to regain full mobility in her body.

The two then turned their gaze forward to see Tokuga rising from the ground with a groan.

"You'd better give up. You're outnumbered and outmatched in strength." said Rimuru.

"It's over, Tokuga." said Korra.

"You say it's over? Oh, dear." Tokuga began before raising his head to reveal an expression of fury. "This isn't over yet!" said Tokuga before a dark aura surrounded him. "I haven't shown you all my power yet!"

Suddenly, Tokuga's body began to contract, his clothes tearing as he underwent a metamorphosis of sorts.

His tentacle split into three more, his arm and legs became huge and hairy with sharp claws on his fingers, his back was filled with sharp spines and a row of hair, a tail grew from behind and ended in two axe-like blades and his head became like that of a beast, with two sharp horns, a mouth full of teeth and his eyes had turned completely black.

Tokuga, now transformed into a full-fledged monster, let out a roar that could be heard even from outside and far away.

Needless to say, Korra was completely horrified at what she was seeing while Rimuru wasn't entirely surprised, as this wasn't the first opponent to take on a monstrous form.

"Warning. Tokuga's power has increased to almost the same amount as a Demon Lord." said Raphael.

"That's what I was afraid of, but that doesn't mean he is one." thought Rimuru.

"Tokuga, what have you done to yourself?" asked Korra.

"This is the result of the power I have accumulated. A power that surpasses any in this world, including the Avatar's." said Tokuga.

"No doubt about it. You are insane." said Rimuru.

"What does it matter? Once I kill you, the whole world will tremble before the Triple Threat Triad. No. It will tremble before me!" declared Tokuga.

"It will be only if you succeed." said Korra with determination.

"Exactly. It won't be as easy for you as you think." said Rimuru, especially since he was immortal.

Back outside, the other members of Team Avatar, Ranga and the police had managed to defeat half of the dark spirits, either by taking them down or trapping them, but there were still some on the loose in the city.

They were about to continue when suddenly, they heard a beast roar sounding from the distance.

A second after they wondered what that was, they all became nervous when they saw the dark spirits on the loose grow wilder and fiercer.

"What happened?" asked Bolin.

"It was that roar from earlier. It was like an order." said Ranga.

"That means that's what has made them act that way" said Mako.

"Not only that. I can feel that the one who released that roar has a lot of power and it comes from the same place where Lord Rimuru is." said Ranga.

"What? Korra is with him. She could be in danger." Asami said thinking about going to help her.

"Asami, I'm worried about Korra too, but now all we can do is trust them and trust them to take care of whatever is going on while we take care of the spirits here." said Mako.

"Of course. Keep in mind that they are very strong." said Bolin with a confident smile.

Asami was still worried about her girlfriend, but they were right that the most important thing was to protect the people.

Besides she was with Rimuru, who was sent to help her and that was enough to calm her down a bit.

"You are right. We can't let their efforts be in vain." said Asami.

"Now you're talking." said Mako with a smile.

"In that case, let me act first." said Ranga taking a couple of steps forward.

"What are you going to do?" asked Bolin.

"I'm going to take most of those things down. I didn't want to do it earlier, but in view of the situation, there's no choice." said Ranga.

The three humans stood confused at the horned wolf's words, wondering what he would do.

Suddenly, a red aura surrounded Ranga and he let out a huge howl before the sky was immediately covered with clouds.

Before anyone could say anything, several tornadoes emerged from the cloudy sky and impacted the ground.

Interestingly, all of the tornadoes stayed in their positions, away from houses and where people were, affecting only the dark spirits who were sucked into the tornadoes and carried away by the wind currents.

Needless to say, the three humans were in shock at the powerful ability of the horned wolf.

"I-Incredible!" said Bolin in shock.

"I don't think even the Avatar itself can do something like that." said Mako.

"If this is Ranga's power, then Rimuru's power will be even greater." said Asami smiling internally, for if Rimuru was truly powerful, then her girlfriend would be safe.

Tokuga threw his tentacles towards them, who quickly moved to the side to dodge them, but the tentacles were chasing them like snakes.

Rimuru managed to block the pursuing tentacle by retrieving his katana to give it a slash that forced it back.

Korra continued to avoid the tentacle until she tried blocking it with a wall of earth, but the tentacle shattered the wall like playing cards before grabbing the Avatar and sending her crashing into the wall a couple of times before slamming her into the ground.

"Korra!" exclaimed Rimuru going to her side, finding her lying on the ground and without wasting any time, he pulled out a blue-colored potion from inside her. "Here, drink this. It will help you regain your strength."

Trusting his word, Korra drank every last drop of the potion before she was covered in a green aura that magically healed her wounds to her amazement.

"Thank you." said Korra with a small smile.

"Did you see it?" asked Tokuga regaining the duo's attention. "That was just a part of my new power. You don't stand a chance."

"That's not likely until proven otherwise." said Rimuru.

"You want proof? Okay, I'll give you proof." said Tokuga before opening his mouth, where a sphere of black energy was forming.

The Avatar's and the human slime's eyes widened in horror, as they had an idea of what he was going to do.

A second later, Tokuga shot a huge beam of black energy from his mouth that shattered the building completely as the beam struck the building across the street.

By the time the beam was over, Tokuga looked around to see nothing but debris and smoke.

"And here ends the story of the Avatar…" began Tokuga before he heard something stirring in the rubble and turning his gaze to the point of origin, he saw some sort of blue-colored blob emerge from the rubble. "What?"

That's when the blob, which was Rimuru, in his slime form, spat at Korra, who was without a scratch.

"I'm sorry if that sounded weird to you, but there was no other way to escape that attack." said Rimuru.

Korra sat on the ground as she shook her head.

"Ugh. No worries. I thought I saw a dark-skinned, flame-haired man in there, though." said Korra.

"You!" began Tokuga catching both of their attention. "What the hell are you?" asked Tokuga to the slime.

"My name was Rimuru Tempest and I was sent by the spirits to stop you Tokuga." said Rimuru assuming the spirit man was the reason he was called.

"The spirits? Well, you watch yourself. Once I'm done with the Avatar, I'll devour you and your power will make me stronger than I am now." said Tokuga with a mad grin.

"Sorry, but I'm not on the menu today." said Rimuru before returning to his human form as he and Korra stood up.

"The only thing that's going to happen is that we will defeat you." said Korra seriously and closing her eyes and when she opened them, she revealed that they were glowing with a white light in a sign that she had entered the Avatar State.

Needless to say, Rimuru was amazed by this.

"So that's the Avatar State I was told about. That's impressive." thought Rimuru.

"Analysis. The Avatar's power has ascended to greater levels than before." said Raphael.

"That shows how powerful the Avatar really is." thought Rimuru.

"Hahaha. Perfect. If I kill you in that state, the Avatar's cycle will end and the world will be left without its hero and savior." said Tokuga.

"Give it a try. If you can." said Korra in a voice that sounded like an echo.

Tokuga responded to that by charging towards them as he roared.

He raised his fist and tried to smash them, but they moved out of the way.

Korra erected a pillar of earth that struck Tokuga's side, pushing him aside for Rimuru to kick him that knocked him to the ground.

Tokuga quickly got up and launched his tentacles at them like snakes.

Knowing what they would do, the two, instead of running, guided the tentacles to areas away from their master and when they got far enough away, Korra gathered as much metal as she could to create a metal ring with which she cut two tentacles while Rimuru cut the third with her katana.

That made Tokuga scream in pain.

"Damn you!" shouted Tokuga before shooting from his back the thorns that fell on the area like a rain.

Rimuru turned back to his slime form to easily dodge the thorns while Korra created a powerful air shield that repelled them.

After that, Korra launched a powerful wave of fire that exploded upon impact against Tokuga, pushing him backwards.

Tokuga roared in rage before throwing his tail towards her, but Rimuru blocked the tail blades with her katana before sending it back just as Korra created a water tentacle with which she hit the spirit man, sending him backwards.

"I've had enough! I'll destroy you all!" exclaimed Tokuga in fury before forming a sphere of black energy in his open mouth that shot out in the form of beam.

It was then that Rimuru stood in front and created a vortex in his hand that devoured the beam completely until it was over.

Tokuga was in shock at how he had gotten rid of his strongest attack so easily, but that was enough for Korra to launch herself at him with airbending and punch him in the face that sent him crashing to the ground.

Before he could get up, Rimuru covered him in spider threads, preventing him from being able to move from where he was even though he was trying to free himself.

Korra was about to launch one last attack when.

"Wait." began Rimuru, causing the Avatar to turn her gaze towards him to see him create a black flame in his hand while the other released black sparks. "Let me give you a small gift." said Rimuru with a smile, receiving a nod from the Avatar.

Combining both elements into one, Rimuru threw a black electric fireball at Korra which Korra grabbed with her bare hands like a ball before making it bigger, all while Tokuga stood by and watched in horror.

Before he could shout anything, Korra shot the electric fireball in the form of a lightning-covered flare that impacted the spirit man, causing a huge explosion followed by a mushroom of smoke.

Korra came out of the Avatar State and when the smoke cleared, Tokuga was seen lying on the ground with his web traps undone by the attack.

Both she and Rimuru thought for a moment that it was over, but then, they heard a groan and as they looked over they saw Tokuga struggling to his feet as he groaned.

"You think you've won? I haven't fallen yet! You can try to lock me up, but I'll escape, gather more power and finish you all off!" exclaimed Tokuga.

"You're right about one thing. There's no way to lock you up with the power you have, but that will soon change." began Rimuru before approaching him as he transformed into his slime form. "You know, where I come from, there's a saying. Don't do unto others what you don't want done to you and since you like to devour spirits…"

Before anyone could say anything, Rimuru spread out like a cloak and covered Tokuga who stood there screaming before being completely engulfed by the slime that maintained a size larger than Tokuga before returning to his normal size.

"Raphael, proceed." thought Rimuru.

"Analysis. Commencing separation process." said Raphael.

Korra, who had been shocked by what she had just seen, approached the slime with a nervous look on her face.

"Did you… Did you kill it?" asked Korra.

"Huh? Oh, no. Relax. I didn't do anything to him." said Rimuru trying to reassure the Avatar.

"Warning. Separation process terminated." said Raphael.

Hearing that, Rimuru spat Tokuga out, but, much to Korra's surprise, he no longer had his monstrous form.

In fact, he no longer had any tentacles or anything monstrous.

Tokuga was back to his human form.

"W-What did you do to him?" asked Korra in complete surprise.

"I simply separated his spirit form from his human form and then removed it. Now he's nothing more than the human he used to be before, so there won't be any problem locking him up." said Rimuru.

Korra smiled before taking the slime in her hands and raising him to her height.

"Thank you very much, Lord Rimuru. Not only for that, but also for saving me earlier." said Korra before giving the slime a small kiss.

"W-Well, it was the least I could do for a friend." said Rimuru blushing as Korra chuckled lightly.

"Should we go help the others?" asked Korra thinking of her girlfriend and friends.

Rimuru jumped out of the Avatar's hands to return to his human form.

"I wouldn't worry. With Tokuga defeated and his spirit powers removed, the situation will already be resolved." said Rimuru with a smile.

Back with the others, thanks to Ranga's powerful climatic attack, they managed to defeat most of the dark spirits there, leaving only a few.

They all prepared to fight when suddenly all the dark spirits, both those that remained and those that were defeated and imprisoned, glowed with a golden light and when it dissipated, cuter, friendlier and less terrifying forms of the spirits were seen.

"Huh? What happened?" asked Bolin in confusion.

"Ranga, did they…?" asked Asami having an idea of what had happened.

"Yes. I can feel it. Tokuga's power he had over those spirits is gone." said Ranga.

"Which means that they have managed to defeat him and with his defeat, the dark spirits have been able to purify themselves by getting rid of Tokuga's control." said Mako.

"You were right, Ranga. With Rimuru, Korra was able to do it." said Asami with a smile as she petted the horned wolf.

"I know." said Ranga as he enjoyed the engineer's petting.
