Iwabee finished his omelet and drank down the remainder of his coffee. He looked to the young woman at the table with him and asked, "do your kind normally get involved with humans?"

Sakiya glanced over at him quirking an eyebrow at the inquiry, as if trying to discern if there was a hidden question behind his question. She spread chili paste on the last of her omelet, as if performing the familiar action in contemplating how to respond she answered, "no. It's usually forbidden."

At this the fourteen-year-old boy asked another question, "if it's forbidden, why risk it?"

"I said it's usually forbidden. Small words can change the entire message, Iwabee," she pointed out as she finished her own omelet and drank down the last of her tea which she had sweetened with honey. Iwabee had to stifle a laugh. The girl would eat or drink just about anything, as long as it was either spicy or had honey in it. He didn't mind, she usually made a batch of bland food for them to share and then added condiments to her own food to spice it up, or she'd drizzle her food with honey. If she was going to drink tea, or coffee, it had to have honey. He was certain he'd even see her add honey to a glass of milk once.

He gave a bit of a sigh as he advised her, "I should get going. We have our finals today today."

"Alright, be good, listen well, follow orders, and play nice with your fellow shinobi. No more of this superiority complex I've heard about," Sakiya rambled in response. He stiffened at the last bit and cautiously looked at her, sweating as he investigated, "umm—h-how lo- long did y-you know?"

The glance she gave him from under her eyelashes was as near to psychopathic as he'd ever seen her, it made his blood run cold, his mouth went dry, and his stomach tensed enough he briefly thought he'd vomit the breakfast he'd just ate.

"I was there when it happened, Iwabee. Breaking your own rule of no weapons and trying to use your Jo just because you were losing a spar? I thought I taught you better than that," she scolded.

Iwabee swallowed harshly but her intense glare eased off into one that shattered his heart into a million pieces as she admitted, "it broke my heart to see you betraying your honour like that. You know full well that I don't need a corporeal body to exist, and sometimes throughout the day when I'm in my natural form I do check in on you. So please, try to be nicer to them, okay?"

He was a little taken back by this, and investigated, "What? You're not going to use your torture technique to punish me?"

She laughed heartily, bringing her hand up to her mouth to hide her teeth and shook her head 'no', she then answered, "No. Strictly speaking, my kind are not allowed to harm humans without explicit orders from our government. To do so would mean execution. Why would I risk my life to harm a human? That's absurd. Not to mention-"

She trailed off and pointed a finger at him. He then recited, "do not seek beauty in battle. Do not seek virtue in death. Do not make the mistake of considering only your own life."

She nodded and then continued, "and realize that at any time, you may be called upon to give your life to ensure the continuation of humanity. That's the oath someone takes before joining the 13 court guards. Although I was born here, never attended their academy, never joined their ranks, I do see myself as a representative of them. So, I will conduct myself to live and, if need be, die by their oath."

"However, that doesn't mean that I won't discipline you if necessary. I may be late tonight, I'll make some onigiri before I leave. However, if we keep chit-chatting, you're going to be late," She informed him. Iwabee smiled and waved to her as he exited the apartment. Sakiya gathered the dirty dishes and took them to the sink. Adding some soap and water to one side of the sink, she began washing them while planning.

She'd have to sneak off and evade detection, that was easily enough done in her natural state. Her true nature would be better suited to what she needed to do anyhow. With the dishes now washed, she set them aside in the tray to dry. She set to making the onigiri, filling them with salmon and then placing them in the fridge for when Iwabee got home.

After that was done she laid down in her bed and through force of will separated from the faux body. She had been careful to close her eyes before separating, as long as nobody checked her for any respiration or pulse, they'd just think she was sleeping in bed. She was dressed in what looked like a standard shinigami uniform, except the sleeves were more form fitting than the standard uniform, and stopped t the top of her wrists. The hem of her sleeves were met with a pair of black fingerless gloves and a zanpakuto fastened at her left hip.

She then phased through the window and out onto the roof top of the building next to their apartment. Gathering reiatsu from the surrounding environment she began her journey, hoping she could make it back before late night.

The situation had become precarious. She was no closer to finding the missing scrolls and going to soul society, she could no longer ask her mother, Uncle, or Aunt for help. She had thought of going to the Hokage for help, it had been established when Konohagakure was born that they would work along side Soul Society and its representatives if need be, but how to approach that? 'Hi, my name's Sakiya. I don't have a squad or rank. I'm not even supposed to be on this mission. My mom was and surprise, I popped out eight months later! I try to avoid involving humans as much as possible but umm we've hit a pretty major snag. I don't suppose any of your healers are any good at piecing things back together?'

Then she'd have to explain that by 'things' she actually meant 'people'. She knew Tsunade had once been tutored in healing techniques by her Uncle, and truthfully so had she. However, Tsunade had a talent for healing that she lacked. Still, she did what she could each day, and after administering the daily treatments she did some hollow hunting. Hunting racked up bounty points, she converted those bounty points for Rio and that's how she provided for them. Although the convert currency functions worked, she couldn't for the life of her get enough of a signal to call for reinforcements. Until she could revive her relatives, she was alone in this quest.
